Therefore we cannot presume that Rivendell's reveal implies anything about the rest of the sets. Yes and? The Barad-dûr was. And the images leak had both. Quote
hoiharry Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 This set looks beautiful! But I will replace some of the heads and hairpieces with the originals. Quote
Alegrispa Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 Y'all are reading too much into the painting being there, it's not supposed to be a tease. It's a fairly prominent part of the location, it makes sense they'd include it in Rivendell. Quote
QuiggoldsPegLeg Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 I think the reason the hair looks so weird on Legolas is that it isn’t all tucked behind his ears. Unfortunately I don’t have any of the old style blonde hair to replace it with. Quote

The Rivendell leak was from a different source than Barad-Dur, which was from the survey. Just saying we can't use one to imply the other's release. Both are definitely real leaks, but they aren't connected except that they happened to leak the same day. Quote

Sorry, but he did not.. 39 minutes ago, upliftingbricks said: Where was this? I saw a video on MiniSuperheroesToday where he said next March but that was filmed in 2022 so he was talking about Rivendell this March Yes, I believe it was from the fan media days in September (?) so he is taking about this set releasing in March this year nothing else 33 minutes ago, upliftingbricks said: Quote

We are not alone, brother! 1 hour ago, VincentLord said: I get people’s qualms with some figures, but this is in my opinion perhaps the most gorgeous set Lego has ever produced. The colours, the detailing, the overall composition—this is the kind of product that I completely understand they’d ask €500 for. Praying that this sells well and becomes habitual rather than a one-off. Same. I honestly didn't plan on buying this, but this looks visually stunning. I might have to scrounge up $500 and some table space. Quote
gdugaucquier Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 (edited) I love the build, it is absolutely stunning, but not a fan of the minifigures. The old ones captured the look of the actors better, I think and most of the hobbittorso's were more detailed. But all the legs and skirts are definitely an upgrade. A bit on the fence on Gimli's beard (not just de colour, but also the length). Btw Gimli's helmet seems a new mold. Edited February 7, 2023 by gdugaucquier Quote

GeoBrick Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 Oh boy. This one was definitely worth the suspense. I can only hope a worthy GWP or double points come along soon. Quote

I like it, I just thought it looked slightly off for Legolas, but couldn’t put my finger on what it was. Overall I think it’s a better piece than the old standard one. Just thinking, building that roof and getting all those 1x1 tiles lined up on a 45 degree angle is probably going to be a real pain. Also it looks like Lego is using an “illegal” technique of putting the plates in between studs for the mushrooms on the trees. Edited February 7, 2023 by QuiggoldsPegLeg Quote

Anyway, I believe that we all wish not only for Barad-Dûr with first ever Sauron minifig in full armour, but also for the regular lineup. This (Rivendell) is where the Journey begins. Mordor (e.g. Barad-Dûr) is the end. I think we need something in the middle ;) Quote

azog Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 I love the set but I can't help but feel meh about it, and I hate that! I have most of the Lord of the Rings sets from the past including the entire Fellowship, so maybe that is some of the reason why? I love the books and the movies however, I just was more excited for the Lion Knights Castle compared to this... Am I going to buy it, yes 100%! Just not day 1 haha. Maybe I am just a tad salty that they didn't include a fully reforged Anduril to go with the shards of Narcil but it's a beautiful set none the less. Can't wait to display it next to my upcoming Osgilith MOC I am working on! Quote

Guess they destroyed the old moulds for both of those pieces, which would also makes sense for the absence of Legolas' and Elrond's old hairpieces. Love Gimli's new walking axe though! Shame we don't have a double-edged one too. Edited February 7, 2023 by TheDoctor Quote

Just some new random sword I guess… Looks like it’s supposed to be Aragorn’s other sword he uses in the films Quote

Dont disagree that more is coming though at some point as survey wouldnt be asking about prices of a set Quote
kill will Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 (edited) Wow this looks even better than the leaks, so much detail! Absolutely love the trees, the cypress especially Call me crazy but what's exciting me most is the new ferns though, can think of SO many use cases for them. All the new weapon molds look great but are much less universal than ferns! Edited February 19, 2023 by kill will Quote
