Front Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 (edited) Having made my alternative models of 7701 7701 alternatives, the time has now come to look at the 7700, the Stealth Hunter. Again I got a picture of the official 7700, and some alternatives. The official Stealth Hunter is in my oppinion the best of the four sets 7700-7703. The official alternative for 7700 really look cool. There is no instructions for this set, but I found pictures on brickshelf, that was sufficient. The pictures on Lego.com of this model are rather poor, and if you look carefully, the are a small difference in build between the pictures. Anyway, having built the alternative, I realised that the good look came with the prize: a very little sturdy cockpit design, constantly falling appart. So I disassemblied that yesterday. I started out making a double Stealth Hunter combiner, with the idea of combining the two glass parts, to form a nice enclosed cockpit for two figures. I call this The Double Hunter. Last night it was time to do a Flight Hunter, keeping an eye on design on the official alternative set, especially the curved-spine design of its back. Here are the three models, The Stealth Hunter, Double Hunter and Flight Hunter: The Double Hunter with a double barreled canon and misile launcher. The combiner nearly uses all the white parts from the two sets, but the are quite some ofther parts left in the boxes: The back of the alternative consist of large panels built with "reverted-knobs". I do that with the small light-grey assymetrical technic bushing. A top view: A front view, with the arm spread out: Detail of the cockpit: The cockpit opens by rotating the top and bottom part, where the glas parts are mounted: The Flight Hunter alternative consist of three body parts that can rotate and twist individually. In this picture they are rotated quite some, to form the curved shape used at start and landing: After landing the cockpit can open, and the wings can be rotated back, to limit the space it take up in the maintenance area. The wings are rotated back too in supersonic flight: In flight the body is normally straightend like shown here. This is slow flight where the wings are perpendicular to the body, to maximise lift. Landing gear is rotated back aligning with the main body: A front-view: A view from above: I hope you like my alternatives, I will be back with more Exo-Force moc/alternatives soon *sweet* Edited March 29, 2008 by Front Quote
iamded Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Very cool front! Both your MOCs show some neat building techniques, and they both look very cool! The first one reminds me of Bridge Walker, and I love how it has detail on the back unlike TLC's versions. Neat weapons too, and the cockpit is great. *y* The Flight Hunter is also very neat, I love how posable it is, as well as the sleek design. Fantastic job! *y* ~Peace Quote

The same goes with the yellow Supernova (7712). Front Quote

I just tried and made the spine twist, and it can to some degree. Loks strange though, and probably serves no purpose. Great built, Front *y* I *wub* the Double Hunter! [A bit of self-promotion X-D ] LuxorV Let me know when I have to see something interesting, I had infact not seen your post. Great alts! Haha, i only had 2 Exo-Force set.
