iamded Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 M10 Dromindur: The Ravine Adym and Magiko had been traveling for quite a long time now. Adym, though he was a genius with mechanics and inventing, had read the map wrong and ventured through Scorpion Knight territory, and, after a few near scrapes with enemy soldiers, somehow miraculously made it to Dromindur unharmed, though awfully hungry. Okay Magiko, I'm terribly sorry about the long wait, but at least we got here in one piece right? Hm, yes. No thanks to you. Okay, okay, sorry. I panicked. I can't read maps when I'm panicking. Anyway, how about I make it up to you by shouting you a bite to eat? Well, I don't think that would quite make up for what we've been through, but I am awfully hungry. Look, there's a tavern up ahead. And so Adym and Magico, tired and hungry, had at last made it to Dromindur, where, after getting a bite to eat, they would meet up with Lord Dragonator.
Shadows Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 L-13 Black Knight territory Outside Imperial Tavern So... shall we go back in and have ribs? WHAT? Do you think with your stomach? Well, they seem to have things under control. Down the street, Alyss was casting her final wave of destruction at the last Black Wraith Demon. It emitted a blood curdling howl and vaporized, leaving a wake of debris and destruction in it's wake. A nearby citizen approached Alyss. Thank you for helping us, I thought we were all doomed. I am Felshor, the miller. Well, I was a miller. I'm not sure I can fix that. Alyss and Felshor look over at the remains of his mill. Er... well. I did have to stop the demons. I didn't mean to make such a mess. Oh no, m'lady, it's quite fine, I'd be dead otherwise. My family will make it, we always do. Family? Felshor points over at his wife and 11 kids. Oh god. Here. Alyss pulls out a small pouch and hands it to Felshor. Felshor looks inside, in awe. Oh no, you can't, this is far too generous. It's fine, really. Maybe you'd like to join us for ribs? Ribs? All the kids run over yelling "YAAAAAAAAAAY!" It's settled then. Though I should check on how the rest of the battle is going. We'll go to the tavern now! Thank you so much for everything! As the family walks toward the tavern, the wife hits her husband in the back of the head. Alyss can barely overhear her say, "stop hitting on pretty girls!" to which he replies, "oh no, I wasn't, but she was so nice, she gave us this" at which point he shows her the pouch. "Oh my! What a darling girl!" the wife replies. Alyss looks around, surveying the scene. Why here? Why now... Just then, a large dragon swoops down from the sky, landing next to Alyss. The citizens standing nearby are unimpressed. AAAAAAHHHHH, DRAGON! RUN!!! You'd think they'd be used to us, by now. Oh, hello Marghan. What brings you here? I was looking for you. I heard something important and had to tell you immediately. What it is? It's about a wizard, and a plot to kill your father! My father? ALUVAR! Aluvar is going to kill your father? No, but that's why he left without a word. DAMN HIM! I'm sure he knew what was best. Uh huh, he always does. How rested are you? I'm quite fit for a journey, if you'd like to make one. I would. Let me go tell Grandoth and Flynt. I'll come along. Well, sure. Alyss and Marghan walk down the street, much to the general confusion and distress of the local citizens. Diana, having finished her battle, looks over in surprise. Hello Marghan! Hello Miss Diana. I didn't expect to see you. Diana and Marghan chat while Alyss goes over to talk to Grandoth and Flynt. So, I'm leaving. This is Felshor, his lovely wife and family. I've promised them ribs. See to that. All those kids... Shush. Keep an eye on things Flynt, then both of you head back to Crown Castle. I'll already be there when you arrive. Yes ma'am. I'll see to it personally. Grandoth, Flynt and the Felshor family head inside for ribs as Alyss returns to Marghan. It was nice seeing you again Diana, but we need to be going, there is an emergency at home. I understand. Safe trip! To you as well. Oh, and tell your girlfriend to get a haircut. I will. Alyss climbs on Marghan's back. The two fly away, heading south. The locals look relieved. Diana looks concerned. She walks back over to Siloux and Cecil. Alyss sends her regards, Cecil.
Scouty Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 L-13 Well, you can stop now, it's all over. What? Oh, I guess I wasn't quick enough...here, take your weapon. Is it blessed? Partially, I guess. Keep it well with you? Where were you? Well....I... Yeah, I'm sure. So, will you be leaving, soon? With that attack I'm sure you want to investigate further.
WhiteFang Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 (edited) Location: L13 (Outside Imperial Tavern, Black Knights Kingdom) The two demons charged towards Diana and blasted multiple fireballs. Diana leap into the sky and took out a wooden stick with a silver tip, and she twisted the stick’s tip and release “Seth Lance”. She jumped across the demons’ back and evaded the fireball attacks successfully. She launches an assault from behind and swings Seth Lance, cutting across the Black Wraith Demons’ back. The demons were caught by surprise and fell to the ground. One of them shouted “Why? You puny human, how can you have such abilities.” After saying its last piece, both of them howled and vaporized into black smoke and vanish into the sky. The remaining demons saw what had happened to their comrades, charging towards Diana. Diana threw Seth Lance directly towards the charging demons. Seth Lance, traveled at a very fast speed, pieced through their bodies in a straight manner and locked their bodies together, crashed at the wall of the building. Diana ran forward and took her lance out of their bodies and the remaining demons were vaporized like their counterparts. As she was returning to Siloux and Cecil at Imperial Tavern, Diana was surprised to see Marghan, the Dragon, walking down the street with Alyss. She smiled at Marghan “Hello Marghan!” Marghan replied “Hello Miss Diana!” She added “I didn’t expect to see you.” They walked towards the rest and explained the situation to Alyss’s group. Alyss explained the situation to Diana. She smiled to Alyss “I understand. Have a safe trip!” Diana waved at Siloux and Cecil to signal them to come over.” Location: L13 (In Majestic Tower) Lord Hector, and a few of his Imperial Guards, went into Master Pent’s chamber and submit a status report. Master Pent looked at Lord Hector with weak strength “Is everything taken care of?” Lord Hector replied “Master Wizard, everything is taken care of. All Imperial Guards within the Capital vicinity are summoned to defend the tower from all possible assaults. In addition, my Elite Imperial Guards are now escorting our King and Queen into a safe and undisclosed location.” Master Pent showed a smile and said “Hector, I am glad that you have the situation under controlled. I am rather weak at the moment. There is something or someone channeling my powers away, to prevent me from using. Tell your son, Kenneth to investigate it for me.” Lord Hector said “Kenneth had gone out to the Eastern Capital and on his way to check the cause of the explosion. I am sure he will know what to do.” Master Pent added “Ok. Meanwhile, monitor all status reports. Report any findings to me immediately.” Lord Hector and his guards kneel down and shouted “Yes, Master Wizard.” Edited May 25, 2008 by WhiteFang
Dragonator Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 (edited) (Time for some long-awaited pictures ) M10 Dromindur; The Ravine (or somewhere close by anyway) Follow me please, asked the guard. I would ask that only your leader come, Lord Dragonator would not take nicely to being swamped by lots of you. Aye that sounds right fine to me, stated Tyrius. Right then, this way if you please. The guard and the dwarf Tyrius made there way along the street to the tavern. Meanwhile outside the Ravine Tavern... Marcus rushed up to Dragonator and saluted. My Lord, the men are prepared and ready to fight. I have dispatched the messengers, they will go as fast as possible, but it will most likely be at least an hour before the other re-enforcements arrive. We must hold out until then. Good, how long until engagement with the enemy will commence? I'd say around 20 minutes or so. Excellent, more time than I thought. Dispatch troops to guard the other gates and bridges. You and I will stay here with a squadron and protect this bridge. We cannot let them get very far into the city before re-enforcements arrive. Marcus talked to one of his lieutenants, who quickly dispatched the orders. He returned and stood with Lord Dragonator and Lord Calvin, staring out towards the approaching enemy. Lord Calvin heard people approaching and turned. Lord Dragonator, one of your guards approaches, and with a dwarf. Dragonator turned to see what his guard had to say. My Lord, this dwarf has come seeking to talk with you. Thank you. Greetings friend dwarf. I am Lord Dragonator, Supreme Councillor of the Dragon Masters Kingdom. To whom am I speaking? Greetings Lord Dragonator, I am Tyrius ThunderHammer, Leader of the ThunderHammer Clan. Well met friend, well met. I must apologise for not offering you better hospitality, but the city is about to be savagely attacked by some scorpion knights in around 15 minutes. Care to stick around? We would be very happy to have you and your men fight along side us. I'll even let you eat as much breakfast as you before the battle begins. We would be honoured to stand and fight at your side. Just let me at the food! Thank you dear friend, it is good that we can trust in our Allies. I must thank your people as well, your delivery of weapons appears to have arrived safely, although it may not have been your specific clan who made them,I am no expert on these things. They will be put to the test in around an hour, when my other generals get here. Until then we shall be fighting a little short on men. Dragonator looked over Lord Calvin's shoulder and noticed Mark the driver standing by one of the topiary trees. Excuse me for a moment gentlemen. Mark, sorry for the intrusion, but what exactly are you doing? Why I'm clipping the hedges my lord! Ah, yes I can see that, but why? Well someone has to do it. Yes yes that is true, but why you? Well I'm not entirely certain, but the rumours in the back alleys are that the guy who created this scene didn't have any handy peasant-looking minifigs, so I got conscripted. Ah yes, that makes perfect sense. At that moment Marcus interrupted the conversation with a sudden surprised exclamation. Who in the name of the Great Dragons is that approaching down the street!? I asked for all civilians to stay indoors! Dragonator turned to look. I'm not sure, I can't see them very clearly... Oh wait! It's Majiko! And Adym! What are they doing here! Dragonator rushed towards the tired and travel-worn pair. What's happened? Why are you here? My Lord... the Keep... taken!... May the dragons preserve us! Marcus, take these men inside, and the dwarfs too. They need feeding. I will here this story quickly. It looks like this isn't the only city the scorpion knights have dared to attack. But my Lord, the attack on the city!... Can wait a few moments. They aren't going to break in in the next 10 minutes. I will here this and then we shall fight! The group of people trooped inside, where news was to be exchanged before the coming battle... Edited May 26, 2008 by dragonator
WhiteFang Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 (edited) Location: L13 (Outside Imperial Tavern, Black Knights Kingdom) Diana walked towards Siloux and Cecil and said “Are both of you all right?” Siloux and Cecil were amazed by Diana’s heroic feat. Both nodded their head and Siloux said “With these attacks, I am sure you want to investigate further.” Diana said “Yes, I will investigate on my own. It’s too dangerous for the both of you to tag along with me. I feared for your safety.” Suddenly, a fast moving white steed was heading towards them, and stopped in front of them. “Princess Diana, what are you doing here? What happened here?” The rider pointed to the ruins around them. Diana smiled “Well, I am just stretching some exercise.” The rider came down and walked towards them, and it was none other than Lord Kenneth. He turned towards to Diana and said “Princess, can you tell me what’s going on? Look at these ruins! Who could have done these?” Diana replied with a disappointing tone “Black Wraith Demons had strike us again. This time, it’s in the heart of our Kingdom. I feared for my citizens’ safety. Alyss and her group aided us too. All Black Wraith Demons in this nearby vicinity are eliminated.” Lord Kenneth was surprised to know that Princess Diana had finished off these demons. He looked at Siloux and Cecil “Princess, are these your friends?” He pointed towards Siloux and said “Yes, I knew you from before in Green Valley. You must be Siloux. And she is?” Diana giggled and said “Well, he is Cecil. I believe he is not a she, even though Cecil does look pretty with his long hair.” Lord Kenneth was embarrassed by the silly mistake he made, stared up at the sky and looked at Cecil “I am terribly sorry. Please accept my apology.” Cecil laughed “Don’t worry, Lord Kenneth. I am pretty used to it.” Diana is getting serious and speaks to Siloux “Siloux, are you able to use your magic to track down the scent of the Black Wraith Demons. I believed these are not the last we had seen. In fact, I feel that this is only just the beginning.” Location: K12 (Blue Blaze Fortress, Black Knights Kingdom) Fernando looked from far “Well, it seemed I have found a fortress. It seemed that this is the only fortress in this Western Region.” Without hesitation, Fernando accelerates its speed and flies towards its first destination. He saw multiple windows and thinks “Now, which window should I start peeping? This window looks rather grand.” Fernando flies into the room and saw a young looking handsome man sitting at his table, doing some writings. Fernando flies onto the table and flaps its wings said “Prince Sam? Is that you?” The young man was startled by the talking owl, took his sword out of his sheath and pointed at Fernando “Foul beast, what on earth can an owl speaks?” Fernando was jumped by the young boy’s reaction and flapped his wings in the room and said “Look here, young boy. Keep your sharp blade away. I am sure you are Prince Sam. I played with you before when you are like a child, entering into Master Pent’s room. The young boy recalled and said “Are you by any chance, Fernando?” Fernando exclaimed “Yes. Of course, I am Fernando. You don’t see a talking owl everyday, don’t you?” He said “Fernando. So many years had passed, and I am surprised that you are able to recognize me. Indeed, I am Prince Sam.” Fernando flew in front of Prince Sam and said “I have urgent news that Master Pent brings. Black Wraith Demons had strike our Capital earlier ago. The Kingdom is now declared State of Emergency. Prepare all your forces and strengthen the borders for all possible attacks from the Eastern border. In addition, muster a backup force to aid the Capital for reinforcements for unexpected attacks.” Prince Sam was shocked and fell back onto his chair “It can’t be. Black Wraith Demons are just mere legend. It’s hard to believe that such legend does exist. Nevertheless, I will prepare my necessary defenses. How are my father and mother?” Fernando added “Don’t worry, young prince. Your parents are well taken of by Lord Hector’s Imperial Guards. Furthermore, most White Fang Force is garrisoned in the Capital too. I must leave now. I will see you soon, Prince Sam.” Prince Sam waved to Fernando at the window, as he flapped its wing heading towards Black Shards Fortress, where Lord Jason is. Edited May 26, 2008 by WhiteFang
iamded Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 Would you look at that? Majiko and I were planning on grabbing a bite to eat then go off searching for you. It's a lot easier to have met you here, and save us the trouble from looking for you. I've parked my Attack Cart back there, you think it'll be alright? Hedges are looking nice, by the way. Oh yes, you probably want to hear about the situation at the Keep. Grim ran off and I think he got captured, and Ragnar said he was going to stay. Something about a baby dragon. Also, something about Councillor Scorpy... Scorpion.. or... Scorponator or something... anyway, I'm starving. We got lost in Scorpion Knight territory, but we made it here. So, what are we planning? Why does everyone have weapons on them? Did I miss something else? Should I grab my sword? Now, or after we eat? 'Cause I really am hungry. Adym got a few confused and startled looks, but that didn't stop him from rushing into the tavern and looking for food.
Inertia Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 The ThunderHammer Leader turned back to the arrayed crowd of Soldiers from many different Nations. Tyrius turned and summoned one of the Dwarves from the Crowd, Tyrius hoped that he could get ThunderHammer reinforcements to the ravine as quickly as possible, Tyrius looked at the Bathandler, "Therden, send out the cavebats, hopefully one of them gets to Eradim or an outpost in time", Therden nodded and turned away. "Lord Dragonator, I'm summoning the rest of the Clan, they should be here in a matter of hours, yet I hope that we can hold for that long, are there any other Reinforcements we can count on to help us win the day?" Tyrius pondered whether to get the rest of his Dwarves to shore up some defenses, but guessed there wasn't time. He could already see the dark war machinery of the Scorpion Knights getting ready, there wasn't any time, or very long until hordes of enemy soldiers poured from the direction of Ankoria.

Shadows Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 K-18 Crown Castle Throne Room It's all so hard to believe. I know, your majesty, but that is how it went. We captured this pathetic excuse for a wizard in a secret room in the back of Crown Church. It seems he's been behind a lot of the troubles around here. I'm not! Er, I haven't been! I... oh... Well, go on, speak up, what do you have to say for yourself? I've been used. I always wanted to be a great wizard. I studied, and apprenticed, and yet, it never happened. That doesn't explain what you're been up to. It's just that when he approached me, promising so much power, I couldn't resist. He? Whom? What power? Speak clearly while you still can! Years ago, I was captured in skellie territory, while trying to find an herbalist. I got lost and ended up at a fortress instead. They took me to their capital where I was supposed to be sentenced for spying, even though I wasn't. Interesting... go on. Well, I was in their dungeon when a skellie wizard approached me, a really scary looking one with a long beard. Seems unnatural for them to have beards... Well, the point is, he made me an offer, one that would eventually lead to great power, he said. I didn't really have much choice anyway, and I wasn't about to turn down the chance. What did he want you to do? He said he would free me, and pay me a lot of money, and eventually give me an ancient weapon of incredible strength, if I would help him exact revenge against the one he blamed for all of the evil that had befallen him. You. Flangdor looked directly at Aluvar. Me? But your plot has been against the kingdom, not against me. And what could this skellie have against me? As much as I may have wanted to, I never did a thing to them, unless attacked, and that's only been recently. I don't know what it is he has against you, but it's important enough that he freed me secretly. Apparently even their king was unaware of the situation. That does fit in with the information we were given. But you were behind that information, so how can we trust it? It's all very complicated, more complicated than even I can understand. I know they were using me, so I can't believe half of what I know, but maybe we can sort it all out somehow. Maybe. If you're perfectly honest with us. Otherwise, I'm setting you on fire personally. I'm being honest! This isn't easy for me, admitting I was used, but I was! When we captured your bird and guard, I had to convince them that I was Rangdar, so they would believe my story, which, I must say, I did brilliantly, as they seemed to believe me. They even let me send along Boney as a spy. Rangdar! I'd forgotten about him! Where is he? I don't know. They said that in order to make the plan work, they needed to keep anyone from discovering that I wasn't him. Our son??? If anything has happened to him, ANYTHING AT ALL... They assured me it wouldn't... I don't know, though. We'll find him, he's of more value to them alive, they won't hurt him unless they get desperate. Continue with the plot, but go back to the beginning. When this wizard freed you, what were you to do? He gave me several pouches and told me to come here, meet the Countess Ravenia, and give her the pouches, she would know what to do next. Yes, that fits her story, though she made it seem like her idea. Then again, maybe it was. How could she have arranged something like that? Oh, magic runs deep in the female members of the family, there is no doubt that she has some powers of her own. It's why I had her put in that special cell, it should hold her despite her trickery. She's an evil scary woman. I knew that when I met her. I wanted out of the plan then and there, but I didn't have a choice, I knew they would find and kill me. So what were you to do next? They told me that she would take care of the important parts of the plan, and that I could retire to the countryside on what they had paid me, but that I must always be available to them, if I was needed again. Years passed. I tried to keep a quiet life, hoping they would never bother me again. But they did. Yes. A few months ago. They wanted me to make another delivery. They suggested the Rangdar disguise and told me that I would be needed for an extended period, maintaining that disguise. I objected, but they would have killed me... So you came back here, delivered the poison, and ... Poison? I always wondered. Well, I did as Ravenia told me. She said that I was to assume the role of Rangdar until the plan was over. I was supposed to live in the Castle, then go to the Church whenever I could, waiting for any updates on the plan. I was assigned three skellies, a couple of guards and an old general. They were to protect me, but they were obviously making sure I kept my end of the bargain as well. The two I destroyed earlier... the guards? Yes. The general was away, I don't know where. By now, he may have discovered that I've been captured. I don't know what that will mean. But why did you tell us that the skellies weren't involved? Because that's what I was told to say. It's true, too. From what I have gathered, it is that old wizard, the general, and a whatever forces they could find that were loyal to them, but not the whole skellie kingdom. Looks like we need to take a trip. A trip? Uh huh. I've got a bad feeling about this ... Aluvar writes out a message, which he places in the vial around Bluervo's neck. Take this to Alyss, she needs to know that Boney is a spy. On my way! I hope I can find them, I don't really know where to start. They're somewhere near Majisto Tower, though I think they've split up for some reason. Just hurry. I'm out of here! Bluervo flies out the window, disappearing into the distance. Now, how did you know where we were going? As Rangdar, it was easy to learn most of the more delicate kingdom secrets. How did you know that I knew? We were attacked by Black Wraith Demons while there. Obviously you told them where to find us. B-b-b-b-b... Don't do that. Sorry, it's just that b-b-b-b-b... You're doing it again. I... I don't think they have any demons. They must, we were ambushed. I'm serious, Boney was spying, but he never had a chance to get a message back to us. Sure, I knew where you had gone, but I never told anyone, no one asked. They didn't seem interested in where you were, which struck me as odd, considering the old skellie wizard, but I didn't want to get any more involved than I had to, so I wasn't about to volunteer information. So what did you need a spy for? They wanted to know if the Princess was the one. The one what? I don't know, I never knew what that meant. Do you know, Aluvar? I do. She might have been. She might still be, but I'm not sure. That doesn't make any sense. What do you mean? When the Queen died, her power should have been channeled to Alyss, but she didn't exactly die, she was just suspended in life. So whatever power Alyss has, is her own. Now I realise it. I don't know why I didn't before. Her mother still maintains her power, thus she is the one, and always has been. The one what? The Queen enters the room, still weak from her ordeals. I knew this topic would arise eventually. I suppose it's time I told you the whole story, Tiberius. Past time, even. If you will excuse us... Yes, of course, we should be going now, we have a lot to do. We're going to need this half-wit wizard to make this work, much as I hate to admit it, so he's going to need to come with us. Whatever you need. Find our son. How did you know? I'll explain it all shortly... We will, I promise it. Aluvar, Shadows and Flangdor leave as the Queen sits down, preparing to explain everything to the King. Where are we going? Trust me, you don't want to know.
Scouty Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 L-13 Well, being a priest isn't so much as a wizard. I had heard that some advanced priests have this sort of item that will help locate such a demon. Unfortunately, I'm just in training. Might there be a place here where such a priest lives. I'm sure he'll help us.
WhiteFang Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 (edited) Location: L13 (Outside Imperial Tavern, Black Knights Kingdom) Diana looked anxious and asked Siloux for more details on where such Priest resides. Kenneth interrupted Diana’s conversation and asked “Princess, why do Priest have anything to do with tracking of Black Wraith Demons? They are just mere Priests that practice medicine and religion for our citizens. What use can they help? Diana turned around and stared at Kenneth and said in a stern tone “Kenneth, I respect you as my friend and as an excellent commander in our Kingdom. However, do not be rude or underestimate others. Let me enlighten you on this. Black Wraith Demons’ natural alignment is dark. The only element to counter directly is white which represent Holy or Healing magic. However, for wielders of white magic such as you whom commands Blessed Sword is not strong enough to master the whole spectrum of Holy magic. Only Priests and Clerics are the true key to White Magic. In order to find their exact location, we need the same amount of white element in one person to execute their skills to detect our arch-enemy.” Kenneth bowed down and said “Princess, please accept my apology. I will take heed of your words.” Diana smiled again “I am glad you understand.” She turned around and said “So Siloux, can you tell us where we can find him?” Location: M10 (In Ravine Tavern, Dromindur) Lord Calvin walked away and move towards the end of Ravine Tavern, where the Red Valiant Spearmen are gathered. Just then, Lee dashed towards Lord Calvin and said “My Lord, all our spearmen are assembled and ready at your command.” Karen stood behind Lee and said “I have surveyed the surroundings. Indeed, the Scorpions Knights will reach us very soon. We must do something to defend Dromindur.” Lord Calvin placed his hands on their arms and said “I am proud to have the both of you, as my commanders. It seemed you have read what’s on my mind. Now, I want the force to be split into two platoons, each lead by one of you. I will tag along to Lee’s platoon. Both replied and understand their Lord’s order. Lord Calvin moved towards his men and said in a gusto manner “Men, listen up. Dragon Masters is facing a cruel enemy that is charging towards us now. We are not here for a vacation or a picnic. We are here to honor our pledge and oath to our allies. As part of Black Knights Kingdom soldiers and the brave warriors of Red Valiant Force, I am very proud to have that honor to fight together, with you, in battle once again. Let’s us show our enemies, what we are really capable of.” The men’s morale increased tremendously and stomped their spears onto the ground, shouting their slogan, raising the allies’ fighting spirit. He looked into their eyes and think deeply in his heart “May this battle be a swift and decisive victory. Let’s me bring them safe, back to their families once again.” Edited May 27, 2008 by WhiteFang
Shadows Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 O-19 Crania Skellie Capital Are you sure this is a good idea? What choice do we have, Flangdor? If we're going to stop this war, we have to stop your wizard. We don't know how powerful he is, or even who he is... We will shortly. I knew you were going to say that. Shadows steps out of the woods and begins walking toward the front gate of the castle. Aluvar and Flangdor follow closely. The skellie on watch sees them approaching and panics, blowing a rams horn then screaming out an alert to his troops. INVASION FORCE! Invasion force? Do we really look like an invasion force? No, we look like a couple of geezers in big hats and a rather dashing individual in a cape and sporty hat. Uh huh. Well, here they come! A half dozen skellie knights on their undead steed exit the gate, charging at the group. Shadows throws a force projection spell at the approaching horsemen, throwing them into the murky moat surrounding the castle. The panicked guard on watch sees this and issues another warning. SORCERERS! Well, he's a lot closer this time. Two out of three isn't bad. Hey, I resent that! Would you like to deal with them? Er... no thanks, I'm fine. The drawbridge begins to raise as a gate closes behind it. Well, that isn't very hospitable. You know, I put the hospital in hospitality, they should be careful. They'll be dead. They're already dead! Arrows begin flying through the air, hitting the ground all around the group. You know, this is getting tiresome. Aluvar casts a quick spell, turning the group invisible. The arrows stop. So much for the stealth approach. I guess we should just charge right in now? How? They've raised the drawbridge. Over the wall? Right, good plan! Good plan? It's a 40ft wall! And? And I don't know how I got mixed up with you two lunatics! You should have thought of that before. Are you ready? I don't think so, but go on. Aluvar and Shadows cast a spell together, teleporting the trio to the top of the fortified embattlements. Oh, that wasn't so bad. A nearby skellie overhears Flangdor. Confused, he begins looking around for the source of the voice. Shadows notices this and decides it would be best if that search didn't continue, so he reaches out and uses the wind to toss the skellie off the wall and into the moat below, with a splash. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah hooo hoooo hoooo hooooooooo! Goofy skellie. That was terrible. I don't get it. So now we find the wizard. Well Dorothy, we're not in Kansas anymore, that's for sure. I don't get that either. A puff of smoke appears in front of the group, out of it steps an ancient looking skellie with a long beard, wearing a cloak. That won't be necessary, for I have found you. It's been a long time, Aluvar. Do I know you? I'm wounded that you could ever forget me, after what you did. I don't know who you are or what it is that I'm supposed to have done. Stop speaking in riddles and tell me. Fine. Many years ago, I was your apprentice, but you betrayed me, you abandoned me when I needed you most. I... no. You can't be. You died, I couldn't do anything about that. Many died that day. How did you end up like this? I laid there, in the mud, surrounded by all the others who had been killed, and yet, I was aware. I knew what was happening around me, though I couldn't see it, or do anything about it. Time passed, agonizing time spent in a state of limbo, neither alive or dead, wondering when I would be discovered. Someone had to discover me, I wasn't really dead, I couldn't be, yet I couldn't move or hear or see, except for the visions in my mind. I don't understand... Neither did I. Years passed in my mind, but it was actually only a few days. I felt it enter me, an energy, a dark energy that I had never felt before. I wanted to resist, but I had no control. It consumed me quickly. Then I was alive again, or so it seemed. I sat up, looked around at all of the destruction, and then I stood, difficult as it was. I looked at my reflection in a puddle and could see that much of my skin had been burned off, leaving the bone exposed. I was shocked, yet calm. I understand how torturous all of this must have been, but why blame me, why start a war? You could have saved me from all of it, if only you'd had my body collected and buried, but no, you left me to rot, and it found me, and now I serve it. I couldn't. We were in full retreat. The orcs had overrun our positions, they were closing on one two sides, we had no where else to go and no time to deal with our losses. No matter. Once it entered me, I became at peace, a peace I had never felt before. It? What is it? It is as old as time, yet we have lived surrounded by it without ever being aware. We fight to resist it, trying to maintain our pathetic lives, but it always wins in the end, just as it shall now. It is what gave life to the dead, and dead to the living. You're being cryptic again. The time for talk is through. Go. We came to stop this. You can't. I can't. It isn't possible to stop. Nearly everything is in place. All that is left to do is to find the Children of Destiny. That's an old myth, nothing more. You know it isn't. I... have never been sure. But if you're looking for people, why do you need to start a war? Why use this fool to kill the Crown family? Hey! Shut up Flangdor, you are a fool, and a pawn. I needed the Queen dead, for she was one of the few who could stop this plan. Oh really? What could she do? Don't take me for a fool. I know that she lives again. The door between life and death swings both ways, and my master is aware of all who pass through it. I was informed of her return to the living as soon as it happened, but it's too late for her to stop this, so it is no longer important. So why kill the king? That was the work of a small band of renegade soldiers, led by an old general who used to serve me. He knew of my efforts, and of Flangdor, and he took it upon himself to try to take over Crown kingdom. It didn't interfere with my plans, so I didn't stop him. I wish I had now, since it alerted you. Do you really want to destroy humanity because of what happened to you? Destroy it? I'm saving it! Humanity is a horrible curse. You won't know true freedom until you're undead. It's why I refuse to fight you. I was angry for a long time, but I have learned that you did me a huge favour, allowing this to happen. I am finally free, as I never was before. I think we should go, but I'll ask once more, are you sure about this? It may not be too late to stop it. I am sure. I will not oppose my master. Fine. I'm still sorry. Goodbye. Aluvar casts a teleportation spell. The group disappears in a puff of smoke. K-18 Crown Castle Royal Gardens I can't believe he let us go... I can't believe any of this... Who was he, Aluvar? My oldest son...
Scouty Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 L-13 Are there no Church's here? Doesn't seem to be. But I do remember there being a monastery with some priests there. Maybe they will help. Where would that be? They are on the base of the mountains, I can lead the way. Care to join, dear Diana? And you sir, would you like to come as well?
WhiteFang Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 Location: L13 (Outside Imperial Tavern, Black Knights Kingdom) Diana replied “Of course, Siloux. That will be wonderful. From what I remember, there are nearby mountains, called Mount Sophia. Those mountains are unfamiliar terrain to me even though I lived here for the past 18 years. And Siloux, I am surprised that you know a thing or two about them.” Just then, a group of archers was running towards them and reported to Kenneth “My Lord, we have been looking for you. Where is the enemy now? Kenneth told them “It’s been taken care of. Meanwhile, I required you to convey an order to Sir Percival and Lady Kristine. I will be away to Mount Sophia for awhile to investigate the cause earlier. Both of them will be in command of White Fang force till I returned to take over the command.” Diana smiled “Well, Kenneth, it seemed we have a positive response from you then.” One of the archers suggested “Can we accompany you, my Lord, on your journey to Mount Sophia? We will provide protection along the way.” Kenneth thought for a moment and whispered to Diana “Princess, can my men come along? I need to seek your permission.” Diana looked at these enthusiastic men “Guess, I believe there is no harm for them to tag along.” Lord Kenneth signaled them and asked them to prepare for provisions for the trip to Mount Sophia. Diana turned towards Kenneth, Siloux and Cecil and said “There is one more thing to do.” She pointed to Imperial Tavern “There are still two more persons we should ask.” And the four of them went into Imperial Tavern again, where they saw a big happy family enjoying themselves, eating delicious ribs despite of the earlier explosions. At that end of the table, it sat Alyss’s companions. Diana walked forward and asked “Hello. It seemed that you are enjoying yourselves with the ribs. I believed you are Princess Alyss’s friends and we will like to ask you a favor.”
Dovchenko Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 18-J/ Borderline Dark Forest Territory Take it from Sir Oakley, wandering outside of Forestmen/Dark Forest Bandit Territory was no joke. With the Bulk of Crownies with their dwarven allies and the scattered yet fierce Wolfpack Clans waiting for any intruders to enter their land, getting in was tough. I don't think that a single one of those wretched crownies will be able to get all of the splinters out of his mouth. Or, his eyes. Or, his ears. Yes, I guess goring someone through the mouth with a sharpened wooden pike and then twisting it around could cause some splinters. Maybe, just maybe, an irritation. Brain loss. But moving away from the sadistic slaughtering of the border guards, I'm moving away from the fiercer territory, and I hope to make eastward until I reach the camp. A slaver camp that is, one stuffed with so many Fright Knights, Ninjas and Bull Knights that people are literally stuffed into cells, barely being able to scratch one's head wondering "Where am I?" or better yet "Who's going to save us from those Crownies?" If you haven't noticed, it's the weaker armies with either poor politics, bad training or a general lack of influence on the world. Why I'm leaving the Bandit lands is actually to begin developing an actual hierarchy. We're all just misfit bandits- not misfits... some of the highest class criminals in the kingdom. We were just... neglected. We're all human- the Orcs want no part of it, the Fright Knights only wish to feed on flesh, the undead have one common goal and absolutely no free minds- the dwarves work with the Crownies... the Elves live amongside us already, but refuse to join us due to their powerful magic and beliefs, not to mention an ill view on magic. I'm delivering important documents to a member of the Bandits- information about the relationship between us bandits and other races. Reading it aloud: VIKINGS (ENEMIES): Attacking Ninjas and Gaining Resources. These travelling people wish to dominate this weakening faction, and engulf it. NINJAS (NEUTRAL): Civilization in lock-down, pulling back all aid sent to help Scorpions and pushing all military against Vikings. SCORPIONS (ENEMIES): Fighting King Jayko of the second kingdom of knighthood, engaging knights at the border with the support of the Ninjas. BULL KNIGHTS (NEUTRAL): Generally inactive, though fighting has continued with the first kingdom of knighthood as it always has. Not aggresive. LEGOLAND KNIGHTS (NEUTRAL): The oldest of factions, generally in ruins. No aggresive actions so far, in which the king left the nation. Not being attacked, unagressive. DRAGON KNIGHTS (NEUTRAL): If anything, all we've seen is the wizard's wicked experiments with dragons and their war machines. Never came in Forestmen/Dark Forest Bandit Contact. BLACK FALCONS (ENEMIES): Having met in a previous decade during the war, they know out Forestmen ancestors well and with utter hatred due to the fact that they refused to help them in their war against the Black Knights. SECOND KINGDOM OF KNIGHTHOOD/MORCIA (ENEMIES): Too occupied and zealous to even notice us bandits, but kill any ill-willed people on sight. FIRST KINGDOM OF KNIGHTHOOD (ENEMIES): Though they ignore Dark Forest Bandits, the Royal Knights are their allies, and they have caught wind of us. CRUSADERS (ENEMIES): Religous crusading and the Wolfpack being in the way are the only things that keep them from assaulting us. BLACK KNIGHTS (NEUTRAL): Do not hold the same hatred to us that the Falcons did to our ancestors, but still kill us on sight for unknown reasons. Slowly attacking Falcons and sometimes the Firght Knights. FRIGHT KNIGHTS (NEUTRAL): Neutral to us, we have never met them despite them coming around the era of the Dark Forest Bandits. If left alone, a friendly faction. If you venture into the vampiric lands, you are often eaten on sight. ROYAL KNIGHTS (NEMESI): Present during the same era, entirely aggresive and hunting us and the forestmen down. They wish to dominate us, they are our true enemies. Their scouts have been sighted in our forest. Kill on sight and often attack our lands. WOLFPACK (ENEMIES): What would have been friends (the Wolfpack seems to be a mix between actual knights and some bandits like us) certainly didn't respond well when we offered them trade. We both try to stay away from one another. FORESTMEN (FRIENDLY): Basically the same as us, but more heroic. Not attacking, generally unagressive except for stragglers. However, Royal Knights are constantly attacking, killing hundreds of these hidden warriors with their swordsmen. CROWN EMPIRE (ENEMIES): They know about us alright. Missing traders, battalions disapearing. Their dragons will sometimes run into our forests, no one dares go and find it. If we come across one, we let it be, but if it can be tamed, we remove its armour and set it free (we agree with the cause of Francis Marion). They don't attack us, but seeing as they are right next to us and they attack us on sight anyway, they stop us from really moving around the kingdom. DWARVES (ENEMIES): We don't know them well, but they know us as well as the crownies do. Their mine defenders are good at shredding the trees in which we live, better keep them far away. But it remains to be seen if they will ever become allies. ORCS (ENEMIES): Like beasts, they reign through everyone's land, except for their military allies, the Undead. Somehow, they know we're here. They come by sea, pouring their machines of hell onto our land, ripping up everything in their path. They may not be attacking us (this may be a secret route to get to the Crown Empire), but Orcs attack everything, so they're not friendly to us. UNDEAD (ENEMIES): Though the Vikings, Ninjas and Second Kingdom of Knighthood are the least informed of us, the skeleton army either has no use for us or treats us like the Fright Knights- a neutral army. Speaking of Fright Knights, they share extreme similarities between them and Undead. Vampirism and Undead would be a formidable force. ELVES (FRIENDLY): We were surprised to find them as allies, they would not attack us due to our protection of the forest. We have protected one another. Rolling up the giant scroll and putting it in my sash, I continued on my way through the Crown territory. (I came up with a good idea! Seeing as my character has investigated every faction throughly, he gets exact updates on their status. When your character does something, with your permission or request to me, you can be included in the reports! EG: WhiteFang aided us in slaughtering our enemy. In no way does this interfere with YOUR stories, but rather mentions your for others to hear.)
Shadows Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 K-18 Crown Castle Royal Courtyard ALUVAR!!!!!!!! WHAT? THE? HELL? Everyone looks up in time to see Marghan coming in for a landing with Alyss on his back. Ut oh. Hey, who's the hottie? Not now... Alyss jumps off Marghan as he lands, charging toward Aluvar. Hello dear! Don't you 'hello dear' me! Um... I have some news for you. I bet you do! Why didn't you tell me he was dying? HOW COULD YOU DO THIS? Oh, I cracked the case, found the guilty party, and your father has been healed. Who are you? I'm Shadows, at your service. Shadows reaches out to take her hand, which she promptly pulls away. Well, um, thank you very much, whoever you are, but someone had better tell me what is going on around here, and they'd better start now! I'll take care of this. M-m-m-mom! Let's go guys, they need some time alone. Shadows, Aluvar and Flangdor wander off toward Castle town. Well, now what do we do? We've pretty much taken care of that. Are you kidding? Didn't you listen? There's an evil force trying to take over the entire living world. Sure, but how is that our problem? Uh, we're living. I see what you mean. Maybe we could get some help? That is an excellent idea, an excellent idea indeed. Aw, thank you. I do have some sometimes. Uh huh. I'm going to call a meeting of the Council of Five. The WHAT? NO! What do you have against them? Nothing. Nothing at all. I just don't think we need them! Uh, right. There must be something. I know what it is. It's Cloyola, isn't it? Please, don't even speak her name around me! Who is Cl... er... who is she? She's my wife. You have a wife? I do. I love her dearly, but she hates me, she wants me dead. I haven't known you long, but I can sort of understand the sentiment. Oh, she's probably over that by now. It's been a long time. 60 years. Hmmm... no, she probably isn't over it yet. Well, it doesn't matter, I have to summon them. You can't, only the League of Wizards Regulator can, and I'm not even sure who that is now. It's me. Great. When did that happen? You didn't tell me. When I was at the meeting. I received a letter by special courier. Apparently, everyone knew where we were going. Add them to the list of suspects, I guess... I'm going to go make arrangements for the meeting. Fine, I want to hear the story about Cloyola anyway. Aluvar walks toward the castle. Oh no, not again. Come on. Why not? I'm already disgraced, I might as well be humiliated too. That's the spirit! It all started 60 years ago. Cloyola and I had fallen in love and married while we were studying magic. She was the loveliest creature I ever saw. The problem was me. My magic has never been very good. Oh, who am I kidding, it's terrible! I've noticed. Well, one day I met another girl. She didn't care that I wasn't much of a magician, even though she was a promising student as well. She suggested we go off together to study. It was wonderful, but before I knew it, she had reached in my cloak. Uh... Well, she grabbed hold of it and began stroking it until it was about to explode. I grabbed it back and ran off, but it was too late, Cloyola knew. I don't know how she knew, but she knew. So she was mad, but it sounds like an honest mistake. She didn't care. She grabbed it and broke it. I ran for my life, as she chased after cursing me to a future of inept magic and premature balding. Broke it? Ouch! Though the last part explains the big hat. Yes, well, I tried to fix it, but I couldn't. For 60 years, I've gone around with it broken, hoping one day to have it restored. Sure. Maybe you should see a doctor? A doctor can't help, it'll take someone more powerful. Maybe you? Uh... no. Oh, please, just take a look at it! Flangdor reaches for his cloak. Just stop there! I don't want to see it! Fine! I just thought you could help. It isn't like I was asking for a huge favour. It's a pretty big deal to me. I guess I could ask Aluvar to try again. Again? Oh yes, he tried before. He took it in his hands and said some magic words, then rubbed it until it was glowing, but it didn't stay. Um. I don't think I want to hear this. You know, you're a strange kid. You almost sound like you've never heard of someone having a wand broken before! A wand. OH! What did you think I meant? Nothing. Nothing at all. Go on, let me see it then. Flangdor pulls out his broken wand and hands it to Shadows. Shadows examines it closely, then chants a few words. The wand slowly comes back together, but after a few seconds, breaks apart again. She did a good job on this. She always was an overachiever. Well, maybe she's forgiven you and will fix it herself. I suspect that only she can. I don't know. I wish it was so, I wish I was with her again, but I doubt it's meant to be. And when she hears about this latest mess... We'll try to make it sound like you were helping. You'd do that for me? Yeah. I'm not entirely sure why, but yeah. Thank you, thank you, thank you! You truly are a king among men Lord Shadows! Just Shadows. So now what do we do? I don't know, I ran out of plot a few lines back, the rest of this is just padding until I can figure out how to end it. Huh?
Dragonator Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 M10 Dromindur; The Ravine Dragonator sat in one of the plush chairs that the kingdom representatives had quickly evacuated for the greater safety of hiding under their beds. So the Keep has fallen... Yes my Lord, I am truly sorry. They hold the king and the court and I suspect Grim was catured along with Ragnir. They must have had some sort of dark wizard working with them as my powers were useless. Oh I wish Aluvar had stayed, I need his advice. What am I to do? Aluvar? He was here? Ah we really could hae done with his presence, especially with these scorpion knights about to attack the city any minute now. He would be able to help us, what with his influence new appointment as the Regul- Hush Majiko, your tongue runs away with you! Do not speak of such things here, where we do not know who is listening. Sorry my Lord. In the background, Adym could be seen stuffing his face with food, with 11 short dwarfs surrounding him doing likewise. Marcus, gather any men left here who wish to fight and meet me outside. The battle is about to begin. Walking outside, Dragonator surveyed who was left to guard the bridge after troops had been dispatched to all the other entrances to the city. Not many, but they will have to do... Meanwhile.... L7 Dragons Keep; The Throne Room Grim woozily awoke to find himself chained in a seat in the throne room. In front of him, former Councillor Scorpia sat upon the throne, with a dark wizard from Ankoria positioned nearby. In his arms was the baby dragon Nizbet, sitting quite contently looking at himself in the reflection of the wizards helmet. Damn this stupid staff, why wont it work!? Perhaps you are not destined to wield it. Let me- No! It is mine, and I shall figure it out myself thank you. I have already helped your kingdom this far, so just listen to me and I'll see you right. At that moment, Scorpia noticed that Grim was awake, and a small smiled flashed across his face. Grim, glad to see you awake. As you can see, I am now king of this city, so you should be bowing down to me. Do it. I will never bow to you. A pity. You know, there is no use resisting me. I have the city in my control, your king is sitting in a cell in the dungeons crying his poor little heart out, and I have this here baby dragon as a hostage to very effectively prevent any dragons coming to your rescue. Ragnir is chained up outside. Why when Lord Dragonator hears of this- Ha! Dragonator couldn't stop me now! Ah, could he? No, definitely not your great supreme excellency. Good, good. What are you doing to that dragon? He wont sit still! Well make him. Anyway, Grim, you are going to co-operate with me. Tell me what I need to do to control this staff or I will... do something you wont like. Hah, even if I knew I would never tell you. I think the only person who really knows would be Lord Dragonator. Why don't you call him in and ask him? Haha, yes, very funny. But that won't be happening. Guards! Take him to the cells. I will send down one of Ankoria's torturers to get these answers from him. As Grim was carried from the room, baby NIzbet took this opportunity to try and grab the shiny helmet that the funny man was wearing. Ah, get it off me!
Khorne Posted May 28, 2008 Author Posted May 28, 2008 M-5, Lashiek Abu Reis made his way through the narrow streets of Lashiek, the second most ancient city of Ankoria after Ozora. The street was bustling with people as always. The heat in the streets was almost intolerable, but Abu persisted. It wouldn't be much further now to the palace of the bey. The palace of Salih Bey was one of the largest structures in the city. It was visible from every corner of the city as it lay on a small hill. It was originally meant as a fortress to protect the land from Ninja attacks. Later, a town grew around it and became known as Lashiek. Abu Reis climbed the last steps of a stairway leading up to the entrance of the palace. Even though Abu had been here several times before, he kept on being amazed by its sheer beauty. Unlike the heavy, massive, square buildings of Hegathe, the palace of Lashiek was a mix of slender and refined buildings, accompagnied with more original square towers, showing its original purpose. Abu entered the palace through the gates of the main square tower. The palace was bustling with people, servants and soldiers alike. He quickly made his way through the palace, crossing many small courtyards and running through several richly decorated corridors. Luckily for him, he knew his way around, he pitied the people who didn't. Finally, he arrived at the doors of the throne room. He knocked twice and waited for the intricately carved doors to open. As soon as they crept open, Abu stept inside. In front of him was a large throne, carved from obsidian black stone. It was an Ankorian custom for thrones to be made out of such stone, it was a sign of great wealth. The throne was made in several plateaus and on the highest one sat Salih Bey, ruler of Lashiek. Salih Bey was an aging man, with bustling gray eyebrows and beard. He was clad in a white robe and on his head was a white turban. Abu Reis kneeled on his hands and knees, his head touching the floor. "Ahlan wa-Sahlan" Salih Bey said and Abu stood back up. "Ahlan Bik" Abu replied. "Tell me, what brings you here?" the bey asked. "I have plans for another expedition in Ninjaran lands, for plunder and slaves. But I am in desperate need of financers. I have a ship in need of repair and crew, but I haven't got enough money to finance it" "So you come to me, wishing for me to fund your adventures? I must inquire, what is my share in this?" "Your share would be fifteen percent of the profit I make by selling of all loot and slaves. How does that sound to you?" "Seems reasonable to me. I'll see to it that everything is in order for your departure. Don't dissapoint me, Abu" "Have I ever?" "Looks like we have a deal. Ma'a Salaama, Abu and may the Scorpion protect you" "And you too, noble lord" Abu put his fist in his open palm and bowed his head. He turned around and left the room. He was anxious for adventure again, it had been months since his last great razzia in Dragon Masters' land.
Scouty Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 L-13: Imperial Tavern Thanks Cecil, I had nearly forgot about that place. Yeah, you should thank me! Diana, then, said to Siloux: Of course, Siloux. That will be wonderful. From what I remember, there are nearby mountains, called Mount Sophia. Those mountains are unfamiliar terrain to me even though I lived here for the past 18 years. And Siloux, I am surprised that you know a thing or two about them. Hey, I asked! Shhhhh, Cecil! Siloux pauses. Then resumes: Oh, well, I've heard of it from where I was training...We were supposed to go into detail of the place further...but then I had left taking the trade of a shopkeeper. That was when I had last heard of it. Though, before I did leave, I do remember talking that the priests there were powerful, in their faith, loving, and ability to destroy the works against the Holy. So perhaps they can help us! But, Cecil, how'd you know? Me? Oh, ho. I was out, hunting for food. Not a penny on me, or food! I was heading towards the mountains for shelter for the night, which was brewing a storm. Just before the storm started, I saw a building, and went up to it. It was all dark except for two lanterns at the front. I yelled for someone, but nobody came or answered. I figured to just lie myself against the porch for the night. The next morning, I woke up, and a plate of fruits was in front of me. I looked up and a smiling man was there. Scared the heck out of me. But, he was nice, and I ate, and I said goodbye. Looking back I saw the Symbol of the Nine on top of the building.
WhiteFang Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 Location: L13 (Inside Imperial Tavern, Black Knights Kingdom) Flynt and Grandoth turned their backs and took a glimpse of them. But the smell of the delicious ribs distracted them, and pulled them back to their ribs again. Kenneth stood there for a moment and tapped on Flynt’s back and said “I find you very familiar. Have I seen you before?” Flynt was busy enjoying his ribs and ignored Kenneth’s words. Both Diana and Kenneth were feeling annoyed by their rude behavior, decided to walk in front of them and sat down. Grandoth realized that Diana was Princess Alyss’s friend and said “Flynt, this girl is our Princess’s friend. Oh no. How rude have we been? We apologize for our rudeness.” Both of them laid down their ribs and give their greetings. Kenneth looked at Flynt carefully “Flynt Caraway! What are you doing here eating ribs? Don’t you know that our country is declared State of Emergency? What is a Guard Commander doing here, eating ribs?” Flynt was startled and recognized that was Lord Kenneth. “I am sorry, Lord Kenneth. I was not really aware that was you earlier. Let me explain to you.” Kenneth rebutted “Save your explanation. I will let my father deal with you later. We are here for an important issue. Before we proceed, let me formally introduce this lady, especially Flynt. It’s important for you to know who she is. Flynt is feeling nervous and said “What surprise has you in store for me?” Kenneth pointed to them “This is our Princess Diana. And you are from Imperial Guards. You should know what your primary agenda is.” Flynt shook his head immediately and said quickly “Yes, Lord Kenneth. Diana looked at Kenneth and said “Don’t scared Flynt, will you. Well, it seemed every one of us got acquainted. Diana waved to Siloux and Cecil to take a seat too. All of them seated down and Diana began “My friends, I will like to seek a favor from you to help us on our journey to Mount Sophia, in search of some Priests that can help us to deal with the earlier Black Wraith Demons. This is my kingdom’s crisis and I intend to eliminate its root cause. With this in mind, I will like the both of you to offer your kind assistance too. I am sure that Alyss will not mind to have the both of you to tag along with me.” Both of them think for a moment. Kenneth interrupted and smiled “For you, Flynt, I am authorizing you to accompany the Princess for this trip. You will come along with us until we find the Priests, then you may proceed with your mission. This may be the only way to salvage for your silly mistake earlier. And, I will consider putting good words in front of my father.” Flynt, leaving with no choice, agreed to Lord Kenneth. Cecil whispered to Siloux and feeling relived “Lucky, I am not under military ruling.” However, Grandoth stood up and said “I need to take a breath. This kind of discussion is not my cup of tea.” He took one of the ribs on his plate and walked out of Imperial Tavern.
Scouty Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 L-13- Imperial Tavern Erm, well, we should leave as soon as possible! Especially on this "State of Emergency"! But it is night, do you recommend us going out now, Lord Kenneth? I felt pretty safe when I was there! No dangerous animals affronted me, nor I to them. Nor a footprint or a scent. Though, that was just at the base of the mountain, leading up to it may be more dangerous. I suggest we start right before dawn, then. We'll be at the base of the mountains by nightfall, I think. What do you think, Diana?
WhiteFang Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 Location: L13 (Inside Imperial Tavern, Black Knights Kingdom) Lord Kenneth turned towards Siloux and the rest “Staying here for the night will be my recommendation. We will move out first thing in the morning. I will inform the innkeeper and my men to make preparations for the night. Diana added “We can’t rush things. Let’s have some rest for the night. Meanwhile, let’s enjoy some sumptuous ribs. We missed the ribs earlier. This is my treat to all of you.” Kenneth stood up and said “Flynt, enjoy your dinner. Don’t worry about the earlier matter. I will join the rest for dinner later. I need to speak with the innkeeper regarding our lodging.” Siloux added “Will Grandoth joined us tomorrow? I sure hope he will come along with us. He is a very good chap.” Diana sighed “I have no idea. Meanwhile, Cecil can you tell us more on the “Symbol of the Nine”? Pardon me. I had heard little about them.”
Shadows Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 L-14 Black Knight territory I wonder if I should have stayed and helped out. No, my duty is to the king, and Aluvar, and if he'd wanted me there, he would have told me. I must return to Crown kingdom. I made the right decision. Nothing will stop me from it. Bluervo finally spots Grandoth, heading south. He swoops in, landing on the seat and startling him a bit. Aaaaaahhhh! I've got a message! Well, what is it? It's in the vial. Um... I can't read. Oh, that's just great! We'll need to find someone we can trust to read it to us. That means going back to the Imperial Tavern, I guess. Wonder if they have more ribs yet? Grandoth turns the carriage around, and they begin heading north. It's odd that Aluvar would forget such a thing. Oh, he didn't. It's all part of his plan. Really? What plan? I don't know, but when you've known him as long as I have, you know he's always got one more trick planned. I suppose we'll find out soon enough. We should be there in a couple of hours... Just in time for dinner! K-18 Crown Castle Throne Room It's all so incredible. I want to kill Aluvar for not telling me, but at the same time, I just want to give him the biggest hug ever! Well, he isn't here right now, but perhaps I could fill in? No one had noticed Shadows and Flangdor entering the room. You're a sneaky one, creeping in here without anyone knowing. Are you always so rude? Dear! He saved your father's life! Oh no, it's quite alright. Yes, I am a sneaky one, creeping all sorts of places without anyone knowing it. It's quite a helpful trait in my line of work. Really? And what line of work would that be? I'm a talk show host, currently. I've been a few other things in the past. Pirate, stock broker, archaeologist, lifeguard. Lots of things. Do you always talk in such nonsense? Pretty much. It's one of my more endearing qualities, I'm told. I'd like to meet one person who would say that. Well then, let's go! WHAT? You really are mad, I'm not going anywhere with you. You really are a fickle one. First you say you'd like to meet someone who would say that, and when I offer, you don't want to go... Women, different century, same old story. It's a figure of speech! Right. Well, I was quite distracted by another figure entirely. Oh, you're just impossible! What? Saying something like that to me, it's positively indecent! Who says I was talking to you? Shadows winks at the Queen, who giggles a bit, then clears her throat and tries to wipe the smile off her face, but not before Alyss notices. Mother! Not you too! Don't tell me you like this idiot! I think he's quite charming, dear. This time the King chuckles a bit, then clears his throat and tosses a quick glance at his wife. Oh Tiberius, don't get silly! You've all gone mad! All of you! I'm going down to the kitchen for something to eat. Maybe you'll all regain your senses while I'm gone. Sounds like a great idea, huh Flangdor? Well, I could use something, actually. I didn't invite you! No matter. Aluvar asked me to serve as your bodyguard while he's busy, and that's exactly what I plan to do. Guard. Your. Body. IMPOSSIBLE! You're just... IMPOSSIBLE! Alyss storms out of the room, with Shadows and Flangdor following closely behind. You know, she's going to marry that boy. Really? Great. You don't like him? No, it isn't that, it's just ... What is it? He calls me kingy. I call you kingy. That's different. L-13 Black Knight territory Outside Imperial Tavern We're here already? Seems a little quick, but I assume that the narrator really wanted to get to our part of the story. The who what huh? Don't ask. Let's go in and see if we know anyone. The group dismounts and heads inside, the smell of ribs quickly distracts Grandoth from their true purpose in being there. Lord Kenneth! What? Who? Oh! I remember you! You're with Aluvar! Is he here? We could really use his help! No, he's on a very important mission to save the Crown King and Queen. I thought she died a few years ago. Never believe everything you hear. I... see. Well, I don't really, but let's not start that again. Why are you here? Well, it seems that Aluvar manipulated things again and arranged to have me meet up with Grandoth with a message that he can't read. So we needed to find someone who can, and that meant coming back here. I'm sure it's no coincidence that you are here as well. What's up? Up? I don't understand, but it is fortuitous that you've arrived, we could use the help, if you're willing. Might as well, Aluvar must have intended it. We will be leaving in the morning on a very important mission. Please bring Grandoth over and I will fill you in on the details. I need to convince him to join us. Oh, there's an easier way. Listen ... Bluervo whispers in Lord Kenneth's ear. You're a sneaky devil. Too many years around Aluvar. Oh, haha, uh... In the meantime, Grandoth sits at an open seat and orders ribs. Lord Kenneth calls over the serving girl and explains the situation. Instead of taking ribs to Grandoth, she brings the last three plates to Lord Kenneth's table, then informs Grandoth that they are out. WHAT? I'll starve to death... I say, Grandoth, is that you? Oh. Hello Lord Kenneth. Yes, we had to return to find someone who could help us, maybe you could? Perhaps. Why don't you come over to my table and join me for the last ribs in the house. We can discuss matters more comfortably there, don't you think? Absolutely! I told you. Told him what? Nothing...
Scouty Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 L-13-Imperial Tavern Well, that sounds fine to me. Oh! I don't think I have properly introduced myself! I am Siloux de Fraun, from the Forrestman country. And my friend is... Cecil! Cecil de Nifoux. I also come from the Forrestman country. In fact, me and Siloux were friends there! Later, Siloux and Cecil address Diana. I know little about the Symbol of the Nine, just that it was a circle with nine golden circles inside that large circle. I think I can elaborate further. The Symbol of the Nine is rather rare to be on a building, only a truly worthy place can get one. The Nine are what the priests worship. Not Nine gods, but Nine representations of one. Cecil, did you see any symbols on the smaller circles? It was too far for me to see clearly. Well, each circle has a symbol that represents an aspect of whom we worship. That's all I know though. The Symbol of the Nine is only taught in such a place like that monastery. Maybe we can look into it after the mission.
