This is indeed an interesting piece of information. However, we must eliminate the root cause of Black Wraith Demons. I feared that the last attack is to test our defense capability. Furthermore, I feel that the demons are much stronger than our previous encounter.” Lord Kenneth seizes the opportunity while Grandoth is busy eating his ribs “Grandoth, will you join us for this mission? We will definitely need some help from you.” Grandoth holds on to his ribs, “Lord Kenneth, these are very good ribs. I certainly enjoyed eating them.” Lord Kenneth winked a smile at him “Grandoth, there are many taverns along the way. Who knows, there might be some more tasty ribs waiting for you?” Grandoth with his eyes wide open, looking pleased and said “More tasty ribs?” Well then, Lord Kenneth, I will assist you on this mission and ready the carriage first thing in the morning. I am sure Aluvar will regard this mission with great importance.” Immediately, Grandoth went on with his last plate of ribs. Diana whispered to Kenneth “How did you manage to convince him?” Kenneth pointed above “Wise words from above” Diana giggled “Isn't that one of Aluvar’s smart birds?” Lord Kenneth stood up and addressed to everyone “If there is nothing much to do, please do wander out of this tavern. If you wander out in the night during the State of Emergency, the guards have the power to detain you. Princess Diana, Siloux, Cecil, Flynt and Grandoth, I will like to remind you that this mission might be dangerous along the way. Please exercise caution. Have an early rest tonight.”
Dragonator Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 M10 Dromidur; The Ravine The Battle Begins... (Part 1) The small defending force stood ready for the coming fight. Three dragon knight's made their way across the bridge to stand before the doors of the tower, awaiting the enemy assault. At the front of the bridge stood four spearmen from the Red Valiant force, with Lord Calvin standing behind, armed with his Shadow Spear. Two archers were in place to his left and his bannerman stood behind. Tyrius and another dwarf stood behind the bannerman, with General Marcus and Lord Dragonator, armed with a large black shield and a Lord's sword, standing at the rear. All in all it was a small party, but the terrain could be too their advantage if it was to be used well. We're doomed! Now Marcus that is not the way to talk. We can hold this bridge until reinforcements arrive. But my Lord, we are heavily outnumbered! Yes, but we are fighting on a bridge, that will restrict the numbers that can come through. That may be, but half the weapons these men are using are not suited to close combat. That is so, let us go talk with Lord Calvin. The pair moved up to talk with Lord Calvin, while the dwarfs went and stood eagerly in a spot with a good view. At the other end of the bridge, the three dragon knights could be seen approaching the doorway. Loud thuds could be heard coming from the other side. Dragonator and Marcus approached Calvin. Calvin, we have a problem. This bridge is very narrow and is not suited so well to spears and larger weapons. You have a good point Dragonator, we shall have to be cautious. I have been thinking that we shall let them take the brunt of the attack, to slow them down, and then bring in some swordsmen. Can your bannerman run to the southern gate and ask for a small squad of swordsmen? Then we shall send these spearmen down there, as they will have a better effect there than here. Yes a good idea, he shall go at once. The bannerman left with the message, leaving the three standing alone. Your weapon also seems much to long to be used effectively at the moment. Come join us down the rear, and we shall await our chance. Yes, I shall do that. Excellent. Marcus, have the men stand ready. Men, the enemy is nigh upon us! Stand ready! The small company of men stood ready, both anxious and excited about the upcoming battle. Suddenly, a loud crash was heard, and the doors of the tower splintered and fell forwards, revealing a scorpion knight. The dragon knight's charged into the fray. Tyrius then approached Dragonator. Lord Dragonator, me and my fellows are ready to fight! Let us at them! Your turn will come soon enough, friend. Be patient, you will get your share of battle very soon. Umm, Dragonator, where is Majiko and Adym? Well, Adym is inside stuffing his face and Majiko is recovering himself a bit more before he comes out to help. They should be here soon, in plenty of time for the battle. Don't you worry. Now would be a good time to get your spearmen in a good position. Oh right. Spearmen, defensive formation! At the other end of the bridge, first blood was drawn, however casualties were falling on both sides. ( Get it? ) Up on the tower, a pair of Ankorian crossbowmen made their ways to a good position. Looking down over the parapet, they had a very good position to fire from, as well as a nice view of the entertainment. To be continued... Meanwhile... M10; 5 miles west of Dromindur I say, who is that galloping towards us at high speed? Must be someone from the cavalry, an infantry man wouldn't know how to handle a horse at speed. It looks like one of Lord Dragonator's messengers to me... Yeah, that's what I said. The messenger arrived and jumped down from his horse. My Lords, the city is under attack! Supreme Councillor Dragonator requests your men back at once to defend the city. Even now Ankoria's scorpion knights will be attacking! Right, now is not the time for us to be backtalking each other like usual, it is time for us to act professional gentlemen! Yeah whatever. Good. Men! Drop those crates where they are! Grap yourselves a weapon each, quickly now, we are going to make record time back to the city. A battle is taking place, and we are missing it! You townsfolk follow up behind with those carts and crates, at your own pace. Move out! The soldiers scrambled for weapons and, after getting into a very quick and rough formation, started jogging back to the city.
iamded Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 (edited) M10 Dromindur; The Ravine Ah, that was good. Nothing better than chicken legs, apples, croissants and bananas, 'Cause that's all we ever seem to have 'round here. Adym was full, and now was starting to get curious as to what the yelling and crashing was outside. He stepped out of the door, and was surprised to see Scorpion Knights clashing with Dragon Knights. Why he was surprised, I don't know. Surely he expected/suspected something to happen. Now, the soldiers clashing on the bridge seemed fair enough, relatively even amounts of soldiers fighting at the same time. However, it didn't seem fair that the Scorpion Knights had archers firing down at the good guys, as they had the advantage of high ground and thus they could see more and shoot farther. This certainly was not fair, and as Adym realised this an arrow came whizzing into his left arm. Oh, damn! Adym quickly ducked back inside, where it was nice and safe, and there was food. He took a bite out of another croissant, then picked up a good sized stone, put it back down again after remembering there was an arrow in his arm, pulled the arrow out of his gears and trinkets, picked up the stone again, peeked out of the tavern, hurled the rock at an enemy archer, and watched as he accidentally dropped his bow into the waters below, shaking his head in annoyance at the no doubt reverberating clang of stone hitting metal Scorpion Knight helmet. The Scorpion Knight archer who was standing on top of the tower then sat down against the wall, under cover, with a mighty headache. Man, what the hell? Did you see that? That weirdo guy with the somehow immune-to-pain arm just threw a rock at me! A rock! Yeah, I saw. The other archer ducked behind the crenelations as well, reloading his crossbow. Sounded painful. You must have one hell of a head ache. Oh man, you don't know the half of it. Ah damnit, where's my bow? Dude, you dropped it into the river. Oh, man! I just got that! Hey man, why do we use crossbows anyway? They take ages to reload, I actually prefer normal bows. Like longbows. Oh man, one day I'm gonna get a long bow. Then we'll see who's droppin' their bow. I don't get it. Well, it won't be me. I'll be holdin' on tight to my bow. Eh, I prefer crossbows. Once you get used to loading them, it's all good. You just aim and squeeze the trigger. No pulling back the string and getting it all lined up and everything. Way easier. And they use bolts, not sissy little arrows. Hey man, arrows are all good. You just have to get the right ones. You just don't like them because of that time when you cheaped out and bought those crappy arrows so you could afford a keg of wine as well. The bows really only as good as the arrows. Unless it's a long bow. Yeah, well, I still like my crossbow. Well, to each his own, I guess... You know we're supposed to be fighting, right? Oh yeah, crap! I gotta go get another bow, be right back! Heh, yeah. Why don't you see if they have a long bow for you. And with that, Mister Purple-font Scorpion Knight went back to firing bolts down on the good guys, while Mister Maroon-font Scorpion Knight went back to get a new crossbow, yet silently wishing for a long bow. Meanwhile, Adym picked up another rock and took aim at the other archer... Edited May 31, 2008 by iamded
Shadows Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 ??? Lava swirled beneath the bridge, steam shooting up on both sides. Aluvar crossed carefully, though he had done it many times before. I hate this place. It's perfectly suited to it's purpose. Yes, that it is. Are you certain about this? I can see no alternative, Pinky. I suppose not. And here we are. Aluvar steps off the bridge. A few feet in front of him stands a shimmering column of light. I really hate this part, it's so disorienting. You should be a bird, I'm already flying, so it's like being shot from a cannon. You could always land on my shoulder before I walk in, instead. 67 years of doing this and now you suggest that? Erm... well. I wonder what Shadows is doing right now. Probably hitting on the Princess. Oh yeah, right. I think it's safer here. Probably so Pinky, probably so... Aluvar chuckles a bit as Pinky lands on his shoulder. They enter the column of light, disappearing in a flash. K-18 Crown Castle Royal Gardens Would you stop following me? We're not following you, we just happen to be going to the same place. Really? And where is that? What? You don't even know where you're going? IMPOSSIBLE! YOU'RE IMPOSSIBLE! You know, a lot of women have thought I was amazing, or unbelievable, but you're the first one to think I'm so great that you can't even believe I exist. You!!! Alyss reaches for a rock and shakes it towards Shadows. You wouldn't hit a man with a war wound, would you? Shadows points at his eyepatch. Oh, blast it all. I suppose not. Just how did you get that, anyway? Ah, 'tis a long story, come, sit with me and I shall tell you the whole grizzly tale. Grizzly? Hmmm... well, I guess I'm not really in a big hurry. Plus you don't know where you're going. Don't start that again. So, there I was... it was an unexpected meeting, an ambush even. How exciting! Where was this? Do you want to hear the story or not? Yes yes, go on. Well, I was seated at a huge table. Much to my surprise, several very large men walked in, carrying briefcases and calculators. Briefcases? Calculators? Are these weapons? Oh yes, the deadliest. Oh my. They approached the table and informed me that it was my turn to meet destiny. We fought for hours, it was an epic struggle! Every time I would gain an inch, they would grab it back from me. Amidst the fighting, we began to respect each other for our strength, but only one could walk out of that room with their dignity intact. Wow, I never would have guessed that honour was so important to you. I fought valiantly, but my victory that day was tinged with defeat. Your eye... My eye? Oh, you mean the eyepatch. Well, yeah. They said that my ratings were down and that I needed to spice up the show. They suggested exploiting the pirate craze by having me dress like this. I... what are you talking about? My talk show. I was losing ratings points to some stupid women's issues show, so they talked me into wearing this crazy outfit. I mean, sure, I was a pirate a few hundred years previously, but I never wore an eyepatch. It's a silly myth people go for because it seems exciting. In reality, a pirate with a hook or a pegleg or a patch would have probably died quicker than a healthy one. Wait... I'm not sure I understand much of what you're saying, except that you don't really need the eyepatch? Oh no, of course not, it's just a prop. Shadows flips up his eyepatch and winks at Alyss. YOU!!! Alyss jumps up, storming away from Shadows and Flangdor. What did I say? I don't know. Women! Yeah. Both Shadows and Flangdor shake their heads for a moment before chasing after Alyss.

I wonder if it’s going to rain. My vision is getting bad in this region. It’s time for me to fly low attitude then.” Fernando took himself lower and suddenly he noticed a few shadow figures from far hiding behind the low lying trees and said to himself “How can there be some few shadow figures staying out in the night. It must be some boy scouts going for some trekking, I supposed?” As Fernando flies closer to the trees, he felt his wings are losing his strength. “Why am I losing my strength? It can’t be. I can feel that someone is draining my strength away.” Within seconds, Fernando crashed onto the ground. He opened his eyes and saw a few shadow figures were standing in front of him before he is knocked out cold. Siloux saw two well equipped horse carriages and a group of archers awaiting their arrival “When did they appear?” Kenneth winked and said “Some preparations were made last night for the mission.” Bluervo flies towards Grandoth and said “I will be sticking around with you until Aluvar recalls me back.” Grandoth tapped his head and looked at Bluervo “Oh great. Why you are always near me? My journey will be filled with your squawking.” Diana pointed to Siloux and Cecil “I will like the both of you to lead the first carriage. I will be joining with you too. Lord Kenneth, Flynt and Grandoth will take the second carriage. The archers will be split evenly among the two carriages.” Kenneth said “This is an excellent arrangement.” Diana turned around and asked Siloux “How long do we need to travel west to Mount Sophia? Do you know any short-cuts?” Location: M10 (Outside of Ravine Tavern, Dromindur) Lord Calvin shouted to his men “Raise your shields, my men. Enemy archers are at high towers. Be careful.” At the end of Ravine Tavern, Karen took out her weapon, Double Strikes and took down one of the enemy archers from far. “Men, stick together. Don’t lose your foothold.” Lord Calvin turned towards Dragonator and said “We must not let them take our high grounds. We must try and re-take our towers. But the bridge is too narrow for us to overrun our enemies. Is there any other alternatives for us to cross over?” Lee shouted at the rest of the spearmen “Enemies are charging in. We must support our comrades at the bridge immediately.” Edited May 31, 2008 by WhiteFang
iamded Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 Somnium had an aching headache from that stones-throw, as well as an unsightly dent in his helmet and a lack of weapon of any sort. As well as that, he ahd no idea how to get down from the tower, or how they got up. Eventually he skilfully scaled down the wall, and fled back to the safety of their ranks. Heading for a weapons booth, he bumped into a Scorpion Commander. Hey, son! Why aren't you fighting?! Where's your weapon?! I was hit in the head with a stone, sir. I dropped my bow, so I- Ah, you must have been stationed on the tower, huh? Well then, let me help you out. What's your name, son? Somnium Bowman, sir. Scorpion Crossbowman. What? Are you a bowman or a crossbowman? No, sir, my name is Somnium Bowman. My profession is a Scorpion Knight Crossbowman. Night Crossbowman? Never heard of them. No, sir, I'm just a regular crossbowman! Alright, no need to get testy. Come on, I'll make sure to get you a quality bow, of your choice. You men up in those towers are vital for this invasion. We lose those towers, we lose our advantage! And as I say, no advantage is a disadvantage! And that would mean a fair fight. Which is actually unfair, as we are at a disadvantage without our advantage! Uh, yes. Of course. Well then, lets go! So Somnium and the Commander journeyed the 12 feet through sweaty, smelly troops until they finally, after about a minute, reached the weapons vendor. Hi there! Ah yes, hi, can we have a large Scorpius Blade, uh, one of them Scorpio Shields, a large bad of fries... hey, what do you want? Can I have a... Yep... yep... a long bow and a large quiver of arrows! The good ones. The good ones! Sure can do! We'll get those to you in a moment. Please walk through the the next window! Somnium and the Commander walked through to the next window. Hi there! Here's your order, have a nice day! Aren't you the guy from the other window? Why yes, I am! We're short on staff! Have a nice day! Okay.. thanks. And so, with his brand new long-bow, Somnium made his way back to the tower...

Inertia Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 M-20 Eradim, Room of the 8 Hierarchs Thorius watched as the other 5 hierarchs argued about whether to send a Magmadragon to help Tyrius and his 10 dwarves, a notion brought up by Luden... again, this happened at every council, whether they liked it or not. OOC: Paolo, Paulus, Luden, Xerxel, Dabien, Lithril. Check my post in the EBRP General Information and Character thread I still think that using the Magma Dragons is a good idea, who cares if the Dragon Masters know? We already told you- That they won't like the idea of us having them. Why don't we just kill them all? That will make them angrier, ye swab! Shut up Dabien! You're not a Pirate! May the Kraken take ye soul to the Locker! Still undecided, Lithril sent for a messenger and quickly told him that Tyrius' army would go out today, they would be at the Ravine soon. Location: M-10 Ravine Tavern A Cave bat had arrived from Lithril. The reinforcements were on their way, that was good, but according to the letter, they may use the Magma Dragons, Tyrius shook his head, that could be fatal. Tyrius' 10 Dwarves were standing near the Tavern, awaiting their turn.
Dragonator Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 (edited) M10 Dromindur; The Ravine The Battle Begins... (Part 2) The battle continued to rage between the two sides, with the dragon knight's being pushed back into the Red Valiant Spearmen. The scorpion knight hordes poured through the tower doors onto the bridge, fighting back the outnumbered dragon knights. Dragonator turned to Lord Calvin. There are no other ways over there unless you go through the southern gate, over the bridge and around. There is fighting there at the moment, but we will send your spearmen that way later to help, and they should hopefully be able to get right around if they break the enemies ranks. Their spears will be much more effective there. Otherwise at the moment the only way over is via the bridge, which is a little jammed up. Right. Our archers are still fighting strong though. And this was so. As they were speaking, an arrow found it's mark and shot down one of the advancing scorpion knights. Oh, good shot I say! That is right Marcus, but try to control your excitement. Sorry my Lord. However, casualties continued to fall on both sides. Oh yes, I crack myself up! Hehe, falling, isn't that funny? No, not really... Right, I'll just get on with the narration then... This particular fellow was a little to hasty in throwing that last man over the edge, and ran himself straight into the Red Valiant force spears. Nasty. Man that looks bad, can we have another shot please? Yeah sure, here's a closer one. Man that looks awesome! Look at it sticking into his eye! Good job on the set up! Thanks, you know that took me almost 15 minutes to get right, things kept falling over. Hang on, how are you talking to me? You know, I have no idea. Maybe because I am you. Great, now I've started I'm still talking to myself. Ahem, anyway. Lord Dragonator surveyed the scene with a look of satisfaction. Right, things look to be going well. Withdraw the spearmen and have them make their way to the southern gate. We should get some more swordsman from there soon. In the meantime, it looks like the dwarfs and us are going to have to do some fighting. Are you guys ready? Oh we sure are! Good. Now- Wait, look, who's that up there? Ah, the enemy general shows his face at last... Edited June 1, 2008 by dragonator
iamded Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 Somnium was just getting back to the tower, when he saw his mysterious leader guy standing in his place. Oh. Um. Shall I still go up there? Will I be, like, invading his space? Hm. Maybe I'll just stay down here, and let the soldiers run past me to the bridge. And I can still fire at the enemy from down here. Somnium lined up a bolt, no, arrow, and aimed carefully at an enemy pikeman. Some Red Valiant Spearman or something. Then, with a simple release of his fingers, he sent the top quality arrow whizzing through the air into... the back of a Scorpion Soldier's head. Damn! Why do they have to always get in the way. Maybe I should lay off the combat for a while. And with that, Somnium silently slipped away from the fray of battle and climbed down to a little ledge on the cliff under the bridge. There he sat happily, skimming stones across the water and watching corpses float down the river.

Why am I lying down here at the middle of nowhere? Fernando flapped its wings and flies to one of the trees for shade “For goodness, it’s so sunny out there. How can a lovely owl like me wandering around in a bright sunny day? I will become a toasted owl!” Fernando looked around and said “Weird, what happened last night? I swear that I saw some shadow figures last night, I think. I have sharp eyes and strong wings. Well, not so strong for my last flight. And why is my body feeling itchy? It must be those pesky pests trying to suck my blood. Times is running short, I better make my way to Black Shards fortress soon.” As Fernando is heading for its destination unknowingly, there is something evil hiding within Fernando’s wings. Location: K13 (Outskirts of the Western Capital, Black Knights Kingdom) The carriages had traveled out of the Capital towards the Western region of Black Knights Kingdom. Traveling non-stop for a day and night out of the Capital, heading towards Mount Sophia, was a long journey. Their carriages went past rivers and farms. Surroundings seemed so quiet and peaceful. Diana tapped onto Cecil “Everyone seemed to be tired. We should head for a tavern nearby soon for some rest. I believed there a tavern nearby.” Cecil agreed with Diana’s proposal. Diana laid back and speaks with Cecil “How did you know so much of Black Knights Kingdom? I am pretty curious especially for someone that is from Forestmen country. Meanwhile, in the other carriage, Flynt is sleeping at the back while Grandoth is manning the carriage, following the carriage in front. Bluervo is circling around the sky, looking out for any sudden movements. Lord Kenneth tapped Grandoth and asked “May I ask you something?” Grandoth nodded and said “Sure, Lord Kenneth.” Lord Kenneth carried on “Master Aluvar is very strong and wise. It seemed there are many things about him I am not sure of. Have you been traveling together for a long time?”
Shadows Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 K-19 Castle Town A Crowded Street Wait up! I will not! Come on, Princess! Alyss stops in her tracks and turns around, angrily pointing a finger at Shadows, then at Flangdor, then back at Shadows. Look here! I am! Not what I meant! Well, what? First off, don't call me Princess. You aren't allowed! Really? Why? It's none of your business! And that's the second thing. Mind your own business! Right now, you are my business. I am not! According to Aluvar, you are. Aluvar be damned, I'm not your business! Aluvar is currently assigned authority in all matters of this kingdom, equal to your father. Further, your mother asked me to keep an eye on things. OH! I... AAAH! Not the first time I've gotten that response out of a woman. Be nice... I am nice. Wait a minute here. You're going to follow me wherever I go? Exactly. We were asked. Well, he was, and I'm sticking with him until this whole nasty business is taken care of. Fine. Fine? Fine. Alyss walks off, heading toward the center of town. I've got a bad feeling about this. Yeah, I know what you mean. ??? Druth Castle Front Gate Aluvar approaches the gate, Pinky flies overhead. A lone guard stands watch in enchanted armour and carrying a particularly nasty looking flail. Excuse me sir. Do you have business here? Business? Oh, yes, yes I do. I see. Are you expected? Rarely. Rarely? That isn't a very good answer. He isn't a very good answerer. Sir, please ask your bird to stay out of this. Pinky... Yeah yeah, whatever. Now, is someone expecting your arrival here today? No. Then I'm sorry, but I won't be able to admit you, unless you have specific business in the castle. We are in a heightened state of security. One guard is a heightened state? The guard waves a signal in the air. 14 armed knights appear on the castle wall above. Well, that's more like it. Look here, you stupid bird! The guard raises his flail toward Pinky. Leave him alone or I'll have you cleaning pots in the kitchen by nightfall. You'll what? You pompous... You don't know who he is, do you? I'm not talking to you. You'd be smart if you did. Fine. Who is he? He's the current head of the League of Wizards. I'm sure that will come as some surprise to Yodarth. Yodarth? That old fool has never been in charge of anything. He is the ranking member of the staff, presently. Aluvar presents the letter he is carrying. The guard reads it, becoming more and more surprised as he does. I... this seal is official. This letter. I... The guard falls to the ground at Aluvar's feet. I am so sorry, m'lord, please accept my humblest apologies for this mistake. I wasn't informed. I don't know why I wasn't, but no one told me of the change. I... Get up, you look foolish. The guard stands quickly. Now, hand me your flail. Uh... yes sir! Aluvar takes the flail, examining it closely. This shouldn't be here. I enchanted it myself, it was intended to fight off Black Wraith Demons. Why are you using this? Yodarth opened the armoury. He said we were expecting trouble. Oh, he was right about that. Take me to him. It would seem that his services are no longer required here. I'm not allowed to leave my post, but I will see... NOW! YES SIR! The guard snaps to attention, signaling a replacement to take his place, then leads Aluvar into the castle. K-18 Castle Town Barth's Books I never would have guessed that you'd let me carry your books so soon. What? You say that like it has some significance. Well, in my day, one of my days at least, it was a sign that you were going steady. Going steady? You speak in riddles. I haven't even started the riddles yet. I'm still at the pun stage. Alyss puts two more books on the already heavy stack in Shadow's arms. Seriously, this is too much to carry. Shadows tosses the entire stack in the air, much to the dismay of Barth. As the books reach their maximum height and begin their descent, Shadows waves his hand and they stop in mid air. Cute trick. That is a good one. Could you teach me it? Sure, later. Shadows begins moving the books around in the air, until they form several neat stacks, hovering next to him. You might come in handy after all. Thanks. I guess. Put these on the royal account, Barth. Of course, ma'am. Alyss begins to leave the store. Hey, how about telling me what we're up to here? Well, it's time I brushed up on my magic if we're going to find and free Rangdar. We're what? Oh no, no more adventures! You don't have a choice. You're supposed to watch over me, well I'll give you something to watch. When you put it that way... Lead on! Impossible... just, impossible. Alyss leaves the store. You know, I think she's starting to like you. Maybe. Shadows and Flangdor leave to catch up with Alyss, who is already heading to the next shop. Looks like it's going to be a long day. K-13 Black Knights territory Outskirts of the Western Capital Lord Kenneth tapped Grandoth, “may I ask you something?” Grandoth nodded and said “Sure, Lord Kenneth.” Lord Kenneth carried on “Master Aluvar is very strong and wise. It seems there are many things about him I am not sure of. Have you been traveling together long?” You know, it's funny really. It seems like I've known him for ages, but it's only been a few weeks. I was returning to Crown castle after taking a message to a southern kingdom and he was standing in the road, with his chest and birds. In the road? Yes. I think they were discussing something. I'm still a little shocked by talking birds. Maybe we're shocked by you too! No offense intended, Bluervo, honestly! Yeah yeah. So, as I was saying, I stopped and talked to him and it turned out we were going in the same direction, so I offered him a ride. I had no idea who he was. He just seemed... well... eccentric. It must have come as a shock to find out the truth. A lot of my dealings with Aluvar have come as a shock. Tell me about it! Are you watching ahead? Yeah yeah. Grandoth whispers to Lord Kenneth. They act like they don't get along, but those birds care as much about him as he does them. I've grown pretty fond of them as well. And we have excellent hearing! Dammit! Lord Kenneth chuckles.
MagPiesRUs Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Reginald, (L-21) The grassy fields trembled as the Crown army neared. As one the great host marched, great clouds of dust emerging behind them. Reginald sternly trudged among the company, his bloodied sword in hand. Many a foe he had struck down with the blade, and surely many more to come. He knew what awaited him there at the port. At once the royal horns of the Crown sounded, and the men let out an great cheer. At the head of the army rode a bold man atop a golden steed, a mighty sword in one hand, the standard of the Crown in the other. Reginald watched as the great banner was raised, the blue and gold stripes dancing in the wind. Reginald had long served in the company of General Mikhail, and long had he fought under his unfaultering leadership. Now he would fight once more, against the demonic Orc and Undead hordes, now in control of the Crown port. Again the horns sounded, and again the soldiers cheered, and amongst them, Reginald let out a cry. The port was within sight now. Khamul, (M-23) With a yell, the troll swung his club a final time, bursting the gate into splinters. With a ferocious yell, we charged through the gates and into the startled Crown Knight's ranks. Hacking, slashing and crashing, we pushed the knights back further and further out of the gate. Soon enough the soldiers were felled, and we rushed into the port. Few men now had the courage to stand and face us, and we were free to pillage and plunder. Me, being the honourable and selfless type, took only one sack of loot. That's good old me. Feeling rather cheated of any decent fighting, I instead climbed the walls of the port and searched out any soldiers still living, hewing down the stinking rats who were. I came across a young soldier lying lifelessly on the red stained stone, an arrow protruding from his stomach. The poor lad, it must've been his first time in battle. He must have a family back in his homeland expecting his arrival back soon. Before I dwelt anymore on the matter, I turned away, but not before making sure he was dead with a swing of my scimitar. I returned to the piers, awaiting orders from Gerargh.
Scouty Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 K-13 I lived here in this country for a couple of years now. I get my money by helping people through the woods and selling furs and captured animals. So I've pretty much been around this place for a long time. The tavern should be a mile from here.
Shadows Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 ??? Druth Castle Hallway Lord Yodarth hates to be disturbed! Oh, I assure you, he's never been more disturbed than he's about to be. Uh... we're here, this is his office. This is the Grand Hall. He's been working out of it for a while now, he says it's more secure. More secure than what? Well, it has no windows. Windows. He's that worried about invasion? Yes sir. He assures us that we could be attacked at any time. Hmph.... Are you going to open the door? I thought maybe we could knock first? I'll take care of it. The guard looks momentarily relieved. Aluvar steps back a bit, then casts a quick spell, vaporizing the door. Aaaahhh... Seemed quicker. A voice bellows from out of the Grand Hall. WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS? OH NO! INVASION! SOUND THE ALARM! Aluvar steps into the room and sees Yodarth, a very short asthmatic man with a slightly off complexion, standing behind the main dining table. ALUVAR! WHAT THE... Shut up Yodarth. WHY, I! Yodarth is breathing heavily. SHUT UP! I will not! Yodarth coughs. Aluvar waves toward Yodarth, pushing him back down into his chair and pinning him in place. Let me go! I plan to, as soon as I find out just what the hell you've been doing here. I've been protecting the League, of course! Protecting it from what? IT! It? The evil! Aluvar thinks for a moment. How much can this fool know? What evil? The evil that surrounds us! It's THEM! Them? Don't you know anything? Fine, I'll explain it. Yes, please. Aluvar points at a large chair, which slides over to him. He sits down comfortably. It's been happening for a long time. All these new members. New members? Joining the League. They're so young, so stupid. I hate them all! They're diluting the power. They don't understand the old ways. They want to do new things, they don't respect us. New members... The strength of the guild is in it's new members. We're here to guide them, sure, but in the end, they are the future. NO! It isn't about the future! It's about the past... don't you understand? Yodarth is breathing heavily again. I do. It's about you. You feel threatened by them, you want things to be the way they always were. Well, they can't be. THEY CAN! Whatever the case, you aren't up to this anymore. I think it's time you retired. You'll always be remembered, but it's time we move on. I... Guard! Uh, yes sir? Have there been any other recent visitors? Oh yes sir, quite a few. They're currently being held in the dungeon. WHAT? It isn't like they're being tortured, it's a nice chamber and all. Take me there. What about me? Maybe you can go there when I'm done with you. Uh... Aluvar and the guard leave the room. Yodarth slumps down in his chair, resigned to his future.
WhiteFang Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 (edited) Location: K13 (Outside of Lost Tavern, Western region of Black Knights Kingdom) Diana pointed in front where there is a smoking chimney ahead. The carriages pulled over at the side of the small little tavern. Diana and the rest alighted from their carriage and noticed the surroundings. Creaky old signage swings up and down. Grandoth pointed “Has anyone of you stays at “Lost Tavern” before? It seemed rather worn and old.” Diana looked at the tavern exterior and asked Siloux “When is the last time you visit this tavern?” Cecil scratched his head and said “Well, I guess it should be few months back.” Diana added “I had never remembered seeing this tavern.” Lord Kenneth said to the rest “Maybe, we should check with the innkeeper first. Flynt and Siloux went into the tavern. The interior was old and seemed to be deserted. Flynt shouted “Is there anyone here?” At the other end of the tavern, sounds of tapping onto the ground can be heard. Flynt went ahead and to his surprise, he saw an old man covered in a grey robe coughing and said “Young man, what brings you here?” Flynt examined the old man “We are here for some lodging. Is this tavern opened?” The old man coughed again “Yes, travelers. I am the innkeeper. You can call me Old Brown. This tavern is opened by my wife and I. Diana and Kenneth went in and spoke with Old Brown “We will pay you for our lodgings and food. Can you whip out some simple dishes for us?” The old man coughed “Yes. Please take a seat.” Grandoth hit his face and said “Am I dreaming? Where are those lovely ribs?” However, Bluervo flew near Grandoth and whispered “I have a bad feeling about this place. My instinct is never wrong. I will need to take a look around this area.” Cecil turned around and said “This is weird. I have never seen this tavern design before in Black Knights Kingdom before. It looks rather gothic to me.” Lord Kenneth gathered everyone and said “Please be careful. It seemed this Lost Tavern may not be as simple as it seemed.” Edited June 3, 2008 by WhiteFang
Scouty Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 K-13 We should go. I am in full agreement. This tavern does not feel safe at all, physically and metaphorically. You know what they say... Better safe than sorry. Bette...yeah, that!
WhiteFang Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 (edited) Location: K13 (Inside Lost Tavern, Western region of Black Knights Kingdom) Everyone observed the tavern’s surroundings and realized that they are the only ones here. Lord Kenneth suggested to the rest “I will take a look at Old Brown. Flynt, come along with me. While the rest of you, stick close together.” Cecil added “Maybe, we should leave now. We are very near to our destination, perhaps another half day of travel, and we will reach the base of Mount Sophia.” Diana considered carefully “Cecil, you are right. We must move on. It’s too dangerous. Kenneth, assemble your men immediately. We will leave soon.” Before they could leave, Old Brown came out from the back and said “Travelers, please take a seat. The food is ready in just a moment.” Diana replied in a friendly manner “I must apologize. We need to leave as time is running short for us.” Old Brown replied in a stern tone “I insist all of you to stay for lunch. It’s been a long time since we last had any visitors.” Old Brown left the hall again and grinned “I will be back for a moment.” Grandoth feeling frustrated and said “I don’t like this place. There is nothing nice about this place.” Grandoth tried to open the door but it failed to budge. Grandoth shouted “Hey, we have a problem. I can’t seem to open this door at all.” The rest tried to help Grandoth to force open, but it fail. Kenneth shouted to his men outside, but they cannot hear their words. Kenneth looked at the rest “Our contact from outside is absolutely shut off. My men can’t hear us and Bluervo is outside of this tavern. That bird does not know we are having trouble. Diana tells everyone to search this tavern for any possible exits. However, every door they searched, each one of them was locked stiff. Flynt sighed “Oh great, we are stuck in some kind of trap.” Diana replied “It seemed to be a magical trap to me that enclose us away from the outside. Anyone of you have any bright ideas to get out of this peril?” Edited June 5, 2008 by WhiteFang
Shadows Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 K-13 Black Knights territory North of the "Lost Tavern" Bluervo flew around, taking in the scenery and looking for anything useful. This place, it's a lot like those villages from earlier... I don't like this. I know! Bluervo flies back to the carriage and pops open the compartment where Boney is hiding. Oh geez, couldn't you have let me out sooner? It's so cramped in there! No, I couldn't, we never have explained you to the rest of the group, and I don't want to start now. Where are they? In that tavern, probably stuffing their faces. Point is, I don't like the looks of this place and thought you might be some help. Really? Sure. Boney flies out of the compartment and the two of them begin circling the area. Where are we? Western Black Knights territory. I don't recognise this place. Or that tavern. Or any of the little buildings around here. I've never been here before. Me either, but I've been through here many times in the past. It doesn't make sense. I think I should report in. What's that? Down there! I don't see ... oh! Shadows in the trees! Black wraith demons! You were telling the truth, there really is an invasion! Yeah! We'd better report back! What about me? I'll explain you, it's no good having you hide the whole way, you didn't ask to be on this crazy mission. I could just leave. Report back to Crown castle. That's a good idea. Go find Aluvar, he'll know what to do. I don't think he likes me much. Well, you don't know anyone else except Rangdar, if you can find him. Right... Boney heads south as Bluervo circles back to the tavern. Tap tap tap. Tap tap tap. Tap tap tap. No answer? They've got to be inside, the carriages are still here. Something is very wrong... ??? Druth Castle Dungeon Aluvar and the guard go down the stairs to the dungeon. Tell me your name. I'm Nelth. Pleasure to meet you Nelth. Sorry that you've been caught up in the middle of all of this. I... It's just part of my duty. No, this has all been wrong. Yodarth was abusing his authority, and as such, you. I never really knew what was going on. I tried to object, but no one would listen. I understand... Aluvar and Nelth reach the bottom of the stairs where they meet two more guards, one with a sword and one with a pike. Ah, another one, Nelth? I don't know if we have room for him, what with that big hat and all! Hahahaha, stupid old fool. I told you I didn't like this. We shouldn't have locked all these people up. Don't be an old woman. We're following orders, we do as we're told. And we get to have a little fun with 'em, too. Fun, eh? Shut up you, you're a prisoner now, you need to learn respect. The guard raises his sword, preparing to strick Aluvar with it's handle. Aluvar waves his hand, sending the guard flying into a nearby wall, the sword clattering to the ground loudly in the dead quiet dungeon. Cheers of approval sound from behind the cell doors as faces begin to appear, trying to catch a glimpse of what is happening. Oh ho, a live one, eh! The guard swings his pike at Aluvar, who shoves it aside magically, slapping the guard in the face with it. OW! Aluvar reaches out, causing the cell door behind the guard to swing open with a force sufficient to knock him out. The other guard tries to run, but Aluvar simple trips him. There is a loud crack as his head hits the stone wall. The inhabitants of the now-opened cell rush over to Aluvar, thanking him for saving them. He's mad! He locked us all up! He said we were evil! We're just students here, we meant no harm! Now now, everything will be fine, and I just might need your help, so how about you unlock the other cells with these keys and we can gather together in the Grand Hall. Yes sir! Oh, and lock these two in your cell before they cause any more trouble. Most certainly! Aluvar and Nelth return up the stairs. Where is Miss Flangbottom? The headmistress? She's locked away in her tower. Forceably? No. When Yodarth declared himself acting Regulator at the funeral, she was visibly shocked, but when he began locking up the students, she retreated to her tower. No one has seen her since. Ah, the funeral. I wasn't informed, for some reason. It's odd, really. I can sense anyone in the world if I focus, and changes in the general magical flow are felt like ripples, but it doesn't cross over to this place, it never has. When did Mirindalast pass on? A few weeks ago. Only Lord, er, Yodarth, Miss Flangbottom and her students attended. It seemed very strange to me. He must have made certain that no one was notified. He's been planning this for a while. So she's been in there this whole time? I saw her once, outside of the tower. Really? Tell me about it. It was the middle of the night. I, uh, thought I heard a noise and went to the kitchen to investigate. So you were getting a snack. Well... yes. And there she was, doing the same thing. What happened? She looked a bit startled, but I told her that it was fine and that I never saw her. She smiled, collected her food, and disappeared in a puff of smoke. I think she winked at me too. I thought I might have been dreaming. Oh no, that sounds like her. I need to see her immediately. I just don't want to. I'm confused. She must have been the one to summon me here, which leads to questions I need answers to. It's just... she's always... she's in love with me. In love? Oh my! That's ... Shut up. Yes sir. Nelth chuckles a bit as Aluvar turns red.
WhiteFang Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 (edited) Location: J14 (Black Shards Fortress, Black Knights Kingdom) A dark looking fortress lying at the Southern border of Black Knights Kingdom was spotted by Fernando. Fernando looked around “Well, this must be the infamous army which protects the borders of Black Knights Kingdom. I heard that Lord Jason had become much stronger than I last saw him in Graduation Tournament. I am so late. Now, where should I begin to look for him? He always wears that stupid black armor. It shouldn’t be that hard to spot him.” Fernando was circling around the fortress and saw a group of border patrol returning to the fortress. Among them, there was a commander whom looks outstanding and wore a black armor. Fernando flew in front of the commander and speaks “Are you Lord Jason McNeal? I have a message for him.” The commander looks calm and said “Indeed, I am. What message do you bring me? It’s rare for Master Pent to send you, Fernando.” Fernando was surprised and said “Amazing. How did you know me? Let’s go to your chamber where we can have some privacy.” Both of them went into the fortress and entered into Lord Jason’s chamber. Lord Jason said “It’s not hard to remember how many talking birds I have encountered in Black Knights Kingdom. Anyway, what is the message that Master Pent brings me?” Fernando goes on with the message “Urgent news, my Lord. Black Wraith Demons had strike our Capital earlier. The Kingdom is now declared State of Emergency. Prepare your forces for any possible attacks from the Southern border. In case of any unexpected attacks in the Capital, be prepared to send reinforcements.” Lord Jason was not surprised by the message and said “I know Black Wraith Demons had attacked us earlier. But I never expect them to move in so fast. Thanks Fernando.” As Fernando was speaking just now, a small little insect crawled out of Fernando’s wings and hid itself well among the furniture. Fernando flapped its wings and said “I feel much better now. Be careful Lord Jason. I will need to report to Master Pent. Farewell.” After saying good bye, Fernando took off immediately to submit its report to Master Pent, waiting in Majestic Tower. Just as Lord Jason turned his back away from the window, a glowing green light was shining at his table. Lord Jason stared at the light and drew his sword out. He noticed the source carefully and realized it was a small insect. The green light emits brighter than ever and said “Jason McNeal, My name is Cantor Illus. I came from an unknown world. Now, I have a proposal for you to consider.” Lord Jason pointed his sword at the green light “Speak now! Or die by my sword.” The green light covered the whole room, and shouted “Look here, Jason. Don’t try and scared me with your words. It’s no use. I will like to tell you that your true source of power belongs to the dark side. Join us in our conquest and devour the Black Knights Kingdom.” Lord Jason felt angry and shouted “Never. My allegiance is Black Knights Kingdom. Tri-Sword, Hear my command. Crush the evil light now.” Immediately, Jason’s sword is split into 3 swords, hovering near the light. The green light laughed “Tri-Sword is just a mere toy to me. You, despite of being the strongest Lords, in Black Knights Kingdom, this is still not your true strength.” Lord Jason’s Tri-sword did not move towards the green light anymore. Tri-Sword was pointing at him instead. Lord Jason exclaimed “It can’t be! Tri-Sword, listen to my command. Hear me!” The green light grinned and laughed “It’s no use, Lord Jason. You are weak. Now, I will show you what is called True Power.” Suddenly, the green light in the entire room was sucks into Lord Jason’s body. Loud screams was heard in the room until the evil light was completely dissipate. Tri-Sword fell onto the ground and Lord Jason collapsed onto the floor. The room became quiet again. Scouty Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 K-13 There is no reason for the doors to be locked! We should immediately set up a defensive position in here or some sort of attack that will aid us in escaping. And whilst he is away! I think he'll be back soon!
iamded Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 M10: Still in the tavern... Adym sat there just inside the tavern, next to the door, twiddling his thumbs and wondering. How was the battle coming along? Had the enemy broken through our defences yet? Had we pushed the enemy back yet? Had the guy who I threw a rock at regained consciousness yet? Would Dragonator answer these questions? Is anyone going to eat that croissant? No? Good. Adym happily munched on a crossoint, whilst waiting for an update on the battle. Meanwhile... Somnium sat there, under the bridge just next to the tavern, on a small outcrop of rock, twiddling his thumbs and wondering. How was the battle coming along? Had the enemy driven back our attack? Had we broken through the enemy's defences? Had that guy who threw the rock at me been killed yet? Would, er. Would I ever come out from the safety that is under the bridge? Suddenly a section of the outcrop he was sitting on crumbled and cracked and splashed into the river, with a few pebbles chasing down after it. Well, it's still safer than up there, with crazy rock throwing people.
WhiteFang Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 Location: K13 (Inside Lost Tavern, Western region of Black Knights Kingdom) Lord Kenneth drew his sword out and said “He is right. We must defend ourselves in case of any sudden attacks.” The rest of them heard his words, immediately arming themselves with caution and observed the surroundings carefully. Diana turned to Kenneth “This is getting out of hand. We must try and get out of here.” Grandoth was busy kicking the door, hoping that the door might fall apart. At the far end of the tavern, a sudden green bright light can be seen glowing at the space between the door and the floor. That was the door that Old Brown went into. Their attention changed to that direction. Focusing and eyeing at that mysterious green light. Flynt went forward to check its source. As he moved nearer, the door began to move open again. Flynt stand back immediately. The door opened, and there stood Old Brown with the mysterious glowing green light. He said “Why are you so rowdy? Do you want to tear down my old tavern apart?” Lord Kenneth stepped forward and said “Why are you trapping us here, and refuse our departure? Who are you exactly?” Old Brown laughed with an evil smile “None of you here, know our existence. I know everyone of you here. In particular, I am very interested in you, Lord Kenneth and Princess Diana. Both of you are vital to us.” Diana aimed her weapon at him and threatened “Leave us alone. Or I swear that the six of us here will rip you and this place apart.” Old Brown’s mysterious green light immediately covered the whole tavern hall. His green glowing eyes filled with evil aura, stared and said “None of you here shall escape from my clutches. But firstly, I will need Lord Kenneth to be enlightened.” Lord Kenneth wields his Blessed sword and stood in a defensive stance. The mysterious green light charged towards him and forced his weapons to fall to the ground. The rest of them could not move. They were paralyzed by the light. The green light focuses its power, piercing through its eyes, mouth and heart. It became brighter and brighter until the green light vanishes. Lord Kenneth fell to the ground. And a jade pendant was revealed hanging at his chest. Old Brown shouted “It can’t be. How did you possess the Lost Jade of Kara? The Lost Jade of Kara protected you from enlightenment. Toss that jade to me.” Lord Kenneth felt weak but he tried to stand up “Why should I give it to you? I do not know the Jade’s source. But this Jade somehow saved my life.” For that moment, Lord Kenneth recalled that the origin of the Jade. The jade was given by an old woman in a mysterious encounter in One Leg Tavern before the Black Wraith Demons incident. She mentioned words such as danger, treacherous, aid, protect. It seemed to be related to that mysterious jade. Old Brown stood there angrily “Don’t lie to me, young lord. I want that Jade of Kara now. This jade should be in our possession.” The rest of them are trying to break free from Old Brown’s paralysis control. The linkage between them began to weaken by the Jade of Kara. They can begin to move their body slightly. [[side Note]] This is reflected in my 2nd post in EBRP, and the Jade of Kara was mentioned here Location: L13"Finally, we are in a tavern. Hmm, One Leg Tavern, what a weird name" one of the archers said. "Percival, please make the arrangements with the innkeeper. We will be staying here for the night." said Kenneth. "Yes, my Lord" and Percival went to speak with the innkeeper. There were many commoners’ merry making, drinking beer and singing songs. Kenneth thought to himself, "I wish every country will have peace and our people will have a stable life". Suddenly, an old and worn woman bumped into him and fell onto the floor. Without hesitation, Kenneth went ahead and lifted her up. The old woman smiled and said "Young man, you are a kind person by nature. In your journey, there will be many treacherous people lurking around. Beware of them. Dangers are everywhere, young man. Take this. It may aid you in your future." Kenneth holds it in his hands and examined it. It was a jade pendant, showing a green shine. Jade is not common in these areas. It was originated in the far eastern lands. "My Lord, the accommodations are ready" said Percival. Kenneth turned his head and said "Tell the men to have an early rest." And he turned his head back, the old woman was gone. Kenneth asked Percival in a quick tone “Did you saw an old woman beside me?" Percival replied immediately "No, my Lord. There was none beside you at all." Kenneth was surprised by his reply and looked at his palm. The jade pendant is indeed under his possession. "My friend, it's nothing. Maybe, I am exhausted." said Kenneth. Percival smiled, "My Lord, food is served, let's have our meal while it's hot." Kenneth went forth with Percival and thought to himself "Was that an illusion just now? It seemed too real for one."
Shadows Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 K-13 Black Knights territory Outside the "Lost Tavern" Well, great. I can't get in the door, I'm not playing freakin' Santa Claus and going down the chimney. They can't hear me. I can't hear them. There are demons in the woods. There's no telling when Boney will reach Aluvar, if he can even be trusted. Master Pent... Yes. Bluervo begins flying due east. L-12 Black Knight territory What am I doing? I'm supposed to be spying on them, and I'm trying to help? They're humans, they can't be trusted. This could all be a trick. What kind of trick? I can't see any possible gain for them in this. Great, now I'm talking to myself. I'll return to my master, he'll know what to do! Boney continues on toward Castle town. ??? Druth Castle North Tower Aluvar begins banging on the door. Go away, or I'll make you wish you had! Miss Flangbottom! It's me, Aluvar! WHAT? LIES! I'd know if you were here! Er, I'd know if you were Aluvar and here! Oh, it's my cloak, hold on. Aluvar chants a few words, lowering his magical protection. ALVY! DARLING! After a series of sliding and moving sounds, the door opens and an older, but fairly well kept woman in purple comes rushing out. She stops for a moment, glances over at the guard, then returns her attention to Aluvar, who she proceeds to give a huge kiss. Oh for heaven's sake, stop that woman! Nelth can't help but laugh out loud. Aluvar casts him a deadly glance. Nelth almost stops laughing. Call me Elmyra, dear. Ah, the same old Alvy, though I think your beard is a little longer. We're all aging. Not me. I must admit, I don't know how you do it, Elmyra. Clean living, of course. Oh, I'm sure... Are you saying?!?!? Do I need to? Not really. Elmyra laughs an evil laugh that echoes through the empty halls. I do enjoy my life, when I'm not trying to stay away from a power mad idiot, that is! Yes, I've already dealt with him. I thought I felt this place brighten up a bit, I just didn't know it was you, darling. You're doing it again. Don't give me any ideas. I don't think you need any ideas. Oh, you are so right there! You were the one who sent me the letter, right? Of course, Alvy! Am I really the new Regulator? Well... not exactly. We need to call a general meeting of the League for that, but I couldn't exactly do that with that moron locking everyone up. But you wanted to make sure I'd come, even knowing that he'd try to lock me up too. Exactly, and it worked, didn't it? Actually, no. I didn't come because of that, I came because I need to call the Council together. The Council? We haven't met since... well, you know. We never even filled her seat. Oh yes, I know. I have a bit of news on that front as well. Nelth coughs. Oh, right, sorry. Elmyra, this is Nelth. I believe you've met. Yes indeed. Good lad, he didn't report my little excursion to the kitchen, and I didn't turn him into a skunk. Uh, thanks. Nice to meet you too. He's a cute one. Can't you keep your mind on one thing at a time? Have I ever been able to? So... as I was saying, I brought her back. You what? She'll die, we can't cure her. I cured her. Amazing! How did you do it? Well, I went and picked up my grandson to help with matters, and when we came back, we ended up in a Skellie outpost. You never did have very good teleportational direction. It wasn't my fault, I think it was destiny that drew us there. We met the commander of the outpost, and after Shadows did some of his usual charming, they helped us. I met this amazing herbalist who knew the cause of her illness, and the cure. He didn't want to help us initially, but after we explained the situation, he came around. But I had heard that the Skellies were making small incursions in preparation for a large scale invasion. Yes, well, they aren't. They were being told that we were planning an attack. It's all a huge trick to start a war that neither side wants. Who would do that? You know I had two sons, right? One was killed in the Battle of Monmouth Falls. We lost many that day. He isn't dead. He isn't alive either. He's a Skellie. Even he isn't sure how it happened, but that day, after we had retreated to our former positions, a dark energy passed over the area. Suddenly he was awake again, but dead. It made him what he is today. I don't think he's truly evil, but the energy is controlling him. I'm not even sure he knows what it is, but it's the source of all of this, I know it. It's manipulating some of the older Skellie generals to use their forces to trigger this war, then it plans to take over everything. I'm so sorry... Aluvar and Elmyra look at each other for a moment. Enough of this! It is time for action! We've a war to prevent, or one hell of one to put on! I don't care at this point. It's time! Oh Alvy! Oh no.
Scouty Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 K-13 Thanks to the pendant, Siloux was able to reach into his pocket and grab out a vial, which contained some sort of liquid. 'Ey! Old fella! The liquid began to foam and evaporate. The old man didn't notice it until it reached to his exposed face. It began to burn. Gaaaahahaaaaaahaaaaaaaaiie! What is this??!!?? Something only reserved for the likes of people like you. Suddenly, the old man began to stop screaming. He suddenly positioned his green light to attack Siloux.
