Borikh, (M-23)

Borikh.jpg

Borikh sat upon the rubble that once was a wall, smoking a pipe taken from a Crown store. He watched as the smoke rose above his head, twisting and twirling, curling and screwing it's great grey hand at the clouds. It had been a hard fought battle. Borikh, among the strongest Orcs of the crew, had been in the thick of much of the fighting, and it showed. His face dirtied with blood, his clothing weathered. He stared at his left arm, bearing a cut travelling all the way from his shoulder to his elbow. From out of the wound there gushed a terrible flow of a dark purple blood. Borikh looked away, ignoring it, raising the pipe towards his mouth again.

At once he lowered his pipe - on the horizon he saw the silhouttes of ships. Old and tattered things, with a certain black aura around them. It was now that he reached into his sack, fumbling around for something. At last his hands came out, revealing a dusty old telescope. Looking through this, he could now clearly make out the ships. Their tattered sails beared a haunting grey skull, and under it, jagged red bolts of lightning. Borikh rushed off to tell Gerargh the news - The Undead are coming!

Sir Mikhail, (M-23)

GeneralMikhail.jpg

Sir Mikhail the Great, at the head of his army, trotted forth atop his horse. The men had marched hard and fast, and Mikhail was proud of them.

"'Tis only a mile further to the port," he called out to his men, "harden your hearts for what is to come."

At that moment, the soldiers heard terrible shouts of death and despair. The noises drew closer, until from the trees there emerged a rabble of frightened Crown soldiers, weaponless and routing. At the sight of Mikhail they stopped their cries of panic and stood silent.

"What is this?" Mikhail demanded.

"W-we-we are survivors from the port," a soldier managed through his huffing and puffing.

"The port has fallen?"

"I'm afraid so sir... Orcish pirates... murderous and foul... they overran the city. Many a brave man died to defend the port walls..."

"Ach! They have already struck! Those most devilish and treacherous beasts. My good sir... how many men are left?"

"200 perhaps, my lord."

"Then come! Join our ranks. We shall need all of the help we can manage to defeat our foe."

And so the army under Mikhail marched once more, through grass long and thick, through the murky bushes and towering trees of the region. Finally the port came into sight, although they could smell the burning of the wooden buildings long before.

"Men..." Mikhail began, "We come to this - a battle. This is the chance for you to show your true valour, to fight for glory, and in the Good King's name. Our enemies must quail at the very thought of having to face you brave men! Yes, there are many of these thilthy Orcs, and, having seen one of their woman-kind before, I can see why so many of them have left to fight abroad! But their numbers will do them no avail, for each one of our skilled and brave men are worth ten of those swines!

"And so let us ready ourselves for the coming battle. I must say that I would not wish to die in the company of a greater host as you fine men! And I can also say that when the day is done, and we have wiped clean the blood of our foes, I will have a great feast in my tent, and I invite all of you to join me! To arms!"

With that, the army let out a great cheer, raising their weapons to the sky, before marching towards the ruined port...

M10 Dromindur; The Ravine

The Battle Ends

The battle was ragging, with everyone fighting for their lives. It was for honour. Victory. Romance. A large tub of cream cheese.

Would you get on with it!?

Sorry. Ahem.

The battle continued. With the success of the first encounter, Lord Dragonator had the spearmen withdraw off the bridge and make their way to the southern gate to fight there. The enemy took this opening as a chance to break the line, and surged across the bridge. Now everyone is fight in in an all out battle, with the future of the world balanced on the outcome.

You know this isn't some big huge NZ-made movie (go Peter Jackson!)? You can stop the suspenseful talk any time you like.

Oh don't you worry about that.

p1050177.jpg

Out on the bridge, the dwarfs and a lone dragon knight defended against the next attack.

p1050179.jpg

Meanwhile, the generals were fighting those who had already got through.

I say, watch where you wave that spear! I'm a general you know!

p1050180.jpg

Lord Dragonator himself was in a fierce struggle with a particularly good scorpion knight. But nobody can out-match his Lordship.

Why thank you.

p1050181.jpg

To those watching it appeared that his blade shone particularly bright, and the appearance of wild fire could be seen jumping joyfully along the blades edge, eager for the taste of flesh. Or perhaps that was only their imaginations.

Meanwhile, out on the bridge the dwarfs were fighting hard, as Tyrius whacked one scorpion knight in the head. But look out for that guy sneaking up behind! :oh3: The dragon knight has now very kindly pushed the dead body of the scorpion knight he stabbed earlier over the parapet, and is enjoying watching him fall.

p1050182.jpg

Suspense is building as Lord Dragonator raises his sword to strike the fearful soldier.

Would you be quiet, I'm trying to concentrate!

Sorry, I just wanted to be a bit more conversational in this post.

p1050183.jpg

Out on the bridge, the dwarfs teamed up to push the dazzled scorpion knight over the bridge, while another one raised his axe to cleave open Tyrius's head. The dragon knight stood transfixed as he watched a trail of blood disappear over the side, and the body splash into the water.

p1050184.jpg

Lucky for Tyrius, one of the archers was on to it, and shot the sneaky scorpion knight, who fell backwards towards the parapet. The dwarfs did not notice however, as they were watching the screaming flying man.

p1050185.jpg

Look at him go!

p1050186.jpg

After a slight delayed reaction due to the focus of attention being elsewhere, dragonator now brought his sword down onto the unhappy knight...

p1050187.jpg

(People of a younger nature and who are a little squeamish, please look away now)

...And cut off his head! Yay! :sweet:

p1050188.jpg

Now looking around, it appeared that the enemy was all dead.

p1050189.jpg

The enemy is all dead!

No, there are still more on the other side.

We will be ready...

As they were talking, something started to make it's way out of the tavern.

p1050191.jpg

It was Adym, with the largest weapon he could find.

p1050192.jpg

Did I miss anything?

Yeah I think it's just about over.

Aww man...

But was it all over? Somebody was climbing up on the tower, and everyone turned to look.

Be ready people...

p1050193.jpg

But no, it was one of the spearmen that was sent to the south gate!

p1050194.jpg

We have won my Lords! We fought hard and managed to cut them off, and have successfully captured their general. They are coming over now.

As he was speaking, some disarmed and captured scorpion knights, including an archer who had had his longbow confiscated and the general, were seen to be walking over the bridge.

p1050195.jpg

As the prisoners sat down, cheers went up all over the city, and weapons were waved in the air. Everyone was happy and jubilant at the victory (except for the defeated enemy of course).

p1050196.jpg

We have won a battle here today. But we must remember that a greater one awaits back at the keep. These men will be questioned, and then we shall take back what is ours!

Whistling and cheering was heard at these words, and the festivities continued. The enemy general did not look happy though.

p1050197.jpg

The battle was won, but it must not be forgotten that many died, on both sides...

p1050198.jpg

(Yes, that was some of the worst plot ever written in human history, however I wanted to get the pitures out, and was in a bit of a hurry. )

Trumpets heralded the arrival of the ThunderHammer Clan to the Ravine, Tyrius shook his head and pointed at the dead and dying Scorpion Knights.

Tyrius turned to Lord Dragonator, "We will accompany you to the keep, our forces will helo win the day!" Tyrius noticed Lithril was among the Dwarves, and nodded to him in acknowledgement.

"What do you say Lord Dragonator, the Keep is bound to be crawling with Scorpion Knights..."

M10, Dromindur, Ravine, outside Tavern.

Well, that was disappointing.

<flashback>

Somnium was merrily skimming stones across the water of the river, his brand new longbow securely fastened to his back, along with his fancy new arrows. He felt very safe under the bridge, happily watching bodies fall into the river, getting a bit squeamish when some fell onto the rocks, but generally having a better time than he would be having up there, where the danger was. Just as he was thinking this, the ledge he was sitting on collapsed into the water, as did Somnium himself. He fumbled and struggled to the shore through the raging current, well, actually he just paddled to the shore through the happily trickling river. As he stood there, now annoyed that the cliff was so rocky, yet so lacking any more outcrops with which to sit on, a Dragon Knight squad surrounded him, pointing their swords at his throat.

Oh, bother.

</flashback>

Now Somnium was walking along, captured, with some other Scorpion Knights, his fancy new weaponry confiscated, just like at school. :hmpf_bad:

Adym had finally come out of the Tavern, only to find that the fight was over. He was looking forward to slaying some Scorpion Knights with this massive axe he had found, he'd got all psyched up too, only to find the battle was over and won.

Oh man. Oh well, I did throw a rock at this guy! Did you guys see it! I think I killed him.

There you are! The strange rock-throwing metal armed man! You bonked me on the head with that rock, and I am most definately not dead!

Oh. Well then, sorry. Um, no hard feelings?

Hmph.

As he was walking along, Somnium heard a Dwarf say something about a Keep crawling with Scorpion Knights. Apparently that's where they were headed. Hooray! That meant maybe he could escape, and re-join his comrades! Woo!

In the midst of the attack, Diana finally breaks free from his binding spell. She went forward to lift Siloux up from a corner and said “Are you feeling better? Thanks for giving us a bit of time to distract him. He is very strong. We must not be reckless.” Siloux nodded his head.

Old Brown stared at them with anger and shouted “It can’t be! How can you be free from my control? It must be the Jade of Kara. I want that now.” Immediately, the green light was focused and attacked Lord Kenneth. Somehow, the light was reflected to another direction. Diana shouted across “Kenneth. Wake up. Use that to our advantage. We must fight together and overturn the situation.”

Hearing her words, Lord Kenneth retrieves his sword and shield, stands up and face Old Brown again and said “I will not be defeat by the likes of you.” Old Brown laughed with an evil smile and the mysterious green light returned to his side. Diana stood beside Lord Kenneth and began their offense.

Taking out her Crossbow Gaia, she shot multiple earth arrows. Just as the arrows was about to hit him, the arrows are stopped and changes its directions, aiming at Flynt, Cecil and Grandoth whom are still bind by his spell. Kenneth and Diana did not dare to make their next move, fearing the lives of their comrades. It seemed Old Brown thinks that Siloux is harmless after his last attack. However, deep within his mind, Siloux is going for it again.

Guards running up to the stairs, banging and shouting “My Lord, is everything all right? We heard screams inside your room.” In the room, Lord Jason opened his eyes and lifted himself and said “What happened just now?”

Lord Jason’s head felt pain and confused, walking towards the mirror, and surprised to see that his eyes are glowing in green. Within his mind, an evil voice speaks “I, one of the great power, Cantor Illus, am merged with your soul. Your talents in Tri-Sword and combined with my powers. We are formidable. We will wreck havoc in this entire kingdom and across nations. Let me show you my true form.”

Lord Jason screamed again in agony. The guards charged into his room and said “My Lord, what is happening here?” Lord Jason stopped his scream and stared at his guards with his threatening green light.

One of them yelled “He is not Lord Jason! He is the legendary Evil Bat Lord that died fifty years ago. I saw that picture before once in Majestic Tower’s library.” The guards realized there are in danger and tried to escape but it was too late. The doors was shut behind them, when they turned in front, Tri-Swords pierced the guards’ heart with no hesitation.”

Cantor speaks in his mind again “There are no turning back for you anymore. Control this fortress with my eyes, and these soldiers will be under my instructions. They will be as loyal as you, willing to die for any cause.” After Cantor finished his words, laughter of evil can be heard in his head.

At this moment, Lord Jason’s conscious is slowly consumed by that evil light encounter, walking out in an unexpected outfit, wearing the Bat Lord’s signature.

Majestic Tower

TAP TAP TAP. TAP! TAP! TAP!

Oh, blast is all, what is that?

Master Pent rises from his chair to investigate the sound, only to find Bluervo at the window. He quickly opens it and Bluervo flies in.

It must be important for you to be so impatient.

There is something very wrong, just west of here!

There isn't much out there but wilderness.

And that tavern.

What tavern? There isn't any tavern west of here for a long way.

Then maybe you'd better come with me, because there is one right now! Lord Kenneth, Diana, some friends of hers as well as Flynt and Grandoth are inside it, and I can't get in. It's as if it's magically locked. I investigated the area and saw black wraith demons in the woods nearby as well.

Oh my! This is serious! Maybe it's why it's taken Fernando so long to get back as well.

Fernando? That flea bitten old owl is probably off sleeping.

Bluervo! Be nice!

There's no time for nice, we need to get back there and help them!

You're right, of course. I could send a squad immediately. They'd be there in a few hours.

A squad? Of normal soldiers? Are you crazy?

Some have wondered... er... no, you're right, that would never do. I'll go personally!

That's more like it!

I'll need to pack, and have my carriage prepared, and ...

WHAT? You doddering old fool! You aren't taking a carriage, you're teleporting! NOW!

Oh heavens no, I couldn't. I am old, as you say, and I'm not up to that.

Aluvar is twice your age and he does it all the time. This is vitally important!

I... oh... YES! You're right! I must! Just let me get my hat.

You wizards and your hats...

Trust me, you'd prefer I bring it.

Master Pent puts in his hat, collects a few small items together, and begins to concentrate on the teleportation spell.

I don't know where I'm going. I can't sense anything there, there is no tavern.

Right! Um... exactly!

Exactly. :hmpf_bad: Don't be confusing.

Teleport to the place where there is nothing at all, that's got to be the tavern!

That's so stupid it makes sense, but I don't think I want to go barging right in if it's a trap. I'll teleport a few yards from there.

Good plan! Now you're thinking!

Master Pent starts his spell again, mumbling a few ancient words. They disappear in a puff of smoke.

Castle Town

The roof of Crown Church

Boney lands on the roof of the church and immediately begins looking for the right roof tile. Finding it, he slides it aside and flies down into the secret chamber.

Empty? How can it be empty? Oh...

He notices the shattered skellies, still lying where they fell.

We've been discovered. Now I'll never find my master... I don't know what to do. Can I really trust Aluvar? I shouldn't... Maybe I can find that other crazy wizard!

Boney quickly leaves the chamber and begins circling the streets of Castle town, careful to avoid being noticed. Down below, he sees a lovely woman being followed by an equally handsome man and an old man in a really big hat.

That's him! That girl was with Aluvar before, though I don't know the one in the weird clothes. Well, I'll have to wait until it's safe to approach them.

For the rest of the day, Boney follows the group around from shop to shop until they finally return to the castle. As they pass through the Royal gardens, he approaches.

Wizard!

What? Oh no! It's one of them! HELP!

Huh?

Shadows looks up, and seeing a strange skellie bird, casts a containment field around it, bringing it to the ground for closer inspection.

How do you two know each other? Is this another of your friends? :hmpf_bad:

They aren't my friends! He belongs to the head skellie, the one I took my orders from here.

Ah, and now he's trying to find you because all of his little friends have been dealt with.

Hey you, with the funny clothes! You don't have to talk about me like I'm not here!

Shadows, Flangdor and Alyss look at each other with surprise, then sudden realisation.

Aluvar. It has to be. No one else would do that.

You all know Aluvar? That's perfect! Though I'm still confused by your part in this, wizard...

He isn't the only one around, so keep a civil tongue.

I don't have a tongue.

No, you don't. That's quite amazing, really, you speak so clearly.

It's hard to explain. Wait a minute! I'm here on important business.

I'm sure you are.

Bluervo sent me to find Aluvar. Those knights he was traveling with were captured in some kind of weird tavern that isn't.

Tavern that isn't. Sounds interesting.

It's west of Majestic Tower, in the woods.

I've never known of a tavern there.

That's sort of the point, isn't it?

I guess so. Or he's lying.

I don't think so.

Does this mean what I think it does?

Yep.

Shadows drops the containment field from around Boney, then begins a teleportation spell encompassing the whole group. A few moments later, they disappeared, much to the dismay of some passing guards.

Outside the Lost Tavern

In two, simultaneous puffs of smoke, two separate groups appear, about 10 feet apart.

Well, hello there! It would seem that you've been invited to this little party as well.

I... who are you and why are you traveling with that idiot and the Crown Princess?

IDIOT?!??! I'll have you know!

Shut up Flangdor. I'm Shadows. You might know my grandfather, Aluvar.

Excellent! But what about that bird...

We're not too sure about him, but for now he's been helpful, much like Flangdor.

I take your meaning. Oh, and where are my manners. Good evening, Princess.

Hello Mast Pent, it's been ... well, you know how long.

Oh yes dear, I'm still so sorry...

Don't be!

What?

Aluvar and Shadows saved my mother, she's better than ever now!

WHAT? This is madness!

I swear, if any of you make a Sparta reference, I'm leaving.

Sparta?

Silly birds never do make any sense.

You know, we should probably be attempting to determine what is happening here.

Oh yes, good idea, lad.

You wouldn't be related to any of the famous Phessy family, would you?

Not that I'm aware of, why?

Just checking.

Shadows, Master Pent, and Flangdor examine the building, paying special attention to the doors and windows.

Clearly, it's magically sealed. But why can't I sense it?

Because it doesn't exist, of course.

It exists! Look!

Flangdor bangs on the wall.

It's a trick. The whole thing is some kind of energy field designed to act as a portal. They aren't inside, they're wherever it sent them, though I doubt they know that.

Oh, that's ... confusing.

So what do we do about it?

I have no idea. No idea at all.

Siloux laid recumbent on the floor. He looks at his leg, which is red in color, an arrow had hit it. Trying to remain conscious, Siloux suddenly remembered something.

My arrow! Being blessed, may have some effect.

But too weak to shoot it himself, he yelled for Diana.

Diana! You need to take my bow and the arrow with the blue feathers, shoot it at the man, it might have some effect.

K-13- Outside the tavern

The group outside the tavern continue to converse, seemingly unaware of the person walking from the woods. Not only until the person came up and greeted the people there.

Hello, there. I haven't seen such a distinguished crowd gathered here in a long time. Actually, I never have, since there usually isn't anything here. What seems to be going on?

He was a man dressed in white robes, with a circle with nine smaller circles drawn on the right shoulder of his robe.

Is there anything an old priest can do to assist you?

A priest, that's good timing.

Indeed. I'm sure Shadows has lots he'd like to confess.

Not yet, but give me time and just enough opportunity.

Uh, I'm not really that sort of priest, you know.

We know.

Talking bird. It must be ...

Sorcery, yes, we've heard it before.

I was going to say Aluvar.

You know Aluvar? He's my grandfather. More or less.

Remind me to ask you what that means sometime.

Sure, right after breakfast.

Before the conversation can get any sillier, the building begins to shake, drawing everyone's attention back to the matter at hand.

I thought you said it wasn't there.

It isn't, but the energy field is, and it seems that they're putting up quite a fight on the other side.

Energy field? Oh. It's a trap!

Thank you Admiral Ackbar. :hmpf:

Who?

Don't ask.

Seriously, we have allies in there, and it would seem they could use our assistance.

We must act immediately!

I am Master Pent of Majestic Tower, how may I assist?

I know of your reputation. I am called Adrick of the White Wilderness. You need to focus a beam of temporal displacement on that structure.

I'm not really up to that, I did just teleport and all, and I haven't even had my tea yet and ...

I'll handle it. What else?

This will require timing. When the image begins to fade, we need to strike it with a holy weapon, then I will attempt to send a charge of holy energy through the temporarily weakened field. That should push back any source of evil on the other side, hopefully allowing your friends a chance to fight back.

Well where are we supposed to get a holy weapon?

It's your lucky day.

Alyss pulls out her staff, wielding it in her right hand.

You don't know how long I've waited to hear you say that.

Uh huh.

Are you trained with that, miss? It's quite a serious weapon. I didn't even know that anyone outside of ... oh, how foolish of me. You're the Crown Princess, aren't you?

I am.

I'm sorry about ...

My mother. I know. You came. You tried to help. You failed. You're the 142nd person to say that lately.

I...

It's no problem, really. Aluvar and Shadows managed to discover the source of the disease and cure it, she's back and better than ever.

Excellent news! The Council is restored!

Council?

Later. First we have a more immediate matter to attend to.

Right then, if we're all ready!

Shadows begins chanting, producing a huge shaft of blue light eminating from both of his hands. As the light hits the building, it begins vibrating, blurring and shifting through the colour spectrum.

Good! That's almost it! Princess... now!

Alyss focuses her energies and unleashes the full power of her weapon on the building. Openings begin to appear, moving randomly across it's surface. Adrick begins his own process, equipped with some kind of mysterious talisman from which pure white light shoots, passing into the building as it shakes even more. After a few moments, Adrick falls to the ground.

Are you alright?

Fine, it's just a very draining experience. Now, it is up to your friends inside to finish the job.

Diana immediately took Siloux arrow with blue feathers, and placed it onto her crossbow. She chanted quickly and shot out the arrow. Siloux arrow was moving at a very fast speed, and managed to pierce through his barrier and hit onto his right arm.

Old Brown screamed “Pesky humans. How did this boy know about blessing? Curse the holy magic. I hate you.” Old Brown changed the directions for all remaining arrows and determined to wipe out Siloux from the face of this earth. The arrows are moving towards Siloux at a very fast speed. Siloux eyes did not open as he feels that his life is coming to an end. Diana screamed and just before the arrows managed to hit Siloux.

A binding white light covered half across the room. The arrows were broken into pieces before it hit Siloux. Diana was very surprised that Siloux was fine and she turned to the other side and saw Lord Kenneth laid his sword down. Lord Kenneth turned to the rest “It seemed I had almost forgotten what my ability is.”

Just then, the entire tavern was shaking vigorously, a wide spectrum of blue and white light was covering the whole tavern. The lights can be seen surrounding around the tavern. Somehow, the white light enables Cecil, Grandoth and Flynt to move about again. Cecil shouted to the rest “We must get Siloux to a safe corner. Rest of you, come and help me. We are no match for him.”

The tavern can be felt as it is lifting off the ground. Old Brown startled and yells “My impregnable barrier. It can’t be weakening?” Immediately, Lord Kenneth and Princess Diana are ready for their final showdown. Diana placed her crossbow back, and eject out Seth Lance from its hidden form. Lord Kenneth chanted his Blessed Sword, and an eminent white light can be seen covered with the sword.

Old Brown shouted to them “You are no match for me.” He focused all his remaining powers and targeted at the both of them. Lord Kenneth rotates its sword and used its white light to fight against the evil green light. Diana leaped across the hall and used her Seth Lance and pierced through the barrier.

The barrier can be seen clearly and cracks can be seen. Old Brown looked at Diana’s weapon “It can’t be! How can a mere girl like you know anything about Seth Lance?” Lord Kenneth’s blessed sword blasted off the remaining green light and cross its blade to the barrier. The barrier was cracking at a fast pace and it is finally shattered.

Both their weapons pierce through Old Brown’s body and he said to them “You may have won the battle. But you will lose the war.” Old Brown screamed in agony and pain. Seth Lance and Blessed Sword combined power had finally eliminated one of their powerful enemies they had ever encountered.

Lord Kenneth shouted to the rest “Everyone, grab hold of something. This tavern is breaking apart.” Roof and walls are cracking, and a dark whirlwind is sucking everything into it. They hold onto each other and within seconds they are knocked out cold.

Lord Kenneth opened his eyes gently and saw the clear blue sky again. He looked to its surroundings and saw the rest are lying on the floor. He heard many footsteps and turned his back. To his surprise, there are many people stood in front of them.

Forestside Path

Bleybeard

On an unnamed dirt path next to a the small Bottengro Forest, commonly called the Forestside Path, a fat old dwarf with a steel helmet and Pickax trudged along to his destination. Bleybeard was a highly respected Dwarven Elder, sent out to give a warning to King Dorane, the Crownie King. This message was urgent, being that Bleybeard had left his ruined home to deliver it. The Dwarf Kingdom was in shambles, destroyed by the Orcs and the Undead. The Crownies were allies with the Dwarves, and Bleybeard was going to tell Dorane important news. The Crownies and the Undead were in a constant war, and the Undead had just played a powerful card: They were now allies with the Orcs. The Orcs were going to pass through the Kingdom of the Undead, through the Dwarf Kingdom and into the Crownies Kingdom. They would make an unexpected attack, crashing through the Crownies' defenses and assisting the Undead very much. Bleybeard was just wondering how he'd tell this to the King when he heard a twig snap and tensed. He slowly looked around him, checking to see if someone was hiding in the shadows.

"Need some help?"

Startled, Bleybeard spun around, only to find the speaker drop next to him.

"You didn't check the skies, a crucial mistake."

Bleybeard looked at the intruder. He bore a brown feathered hat, a brown cloak, a quiver of arrows and a bow. Bleybeard took that the intruder would not attack him as he would have killed him already with his bow when he had the advantage. No, he was obviously here to tell him something.

"Who are you?" Bleybeard asked.

"Who am I? Why, it's only important who you are, Bleybeard. By the way, your beard is gray, not bley." The intruder's words were smooth and ominous at the same time.

"It's bley!" Bleybeard yelled indignantlly.

"Nevermind. If you must know, I usually go by Adam. Anyway, I don't think you want to continue along this path." Adam's voice made Bleybeard so curious that he almost forgot his name, but in a few seconds he recalled that it was Adam.

"Why, Adam? I believe I can cross any path I want!"

Adam chuckledd. "Right you are. But, if you are to continue along this path, you will be caught in a dreadful trap and then be caught by the Orc battle wagons that are coming this way.

Bleybeard jumped, or as much as a fat little dwarf can jump. He spun around and saw a blur of tiny brown and green dots approaching quickly.

"What do I do?" Bleybeard exclaimed, and at that exact moment, another cloaked figure swooped down and grabbed him, bringing him deep into the forest.

Lord Kenneth stood up and saw Master Pent and many others surrounding them. Lord Kenneth immediately greeted him “Master Pent, it’s my failure to have alarmed you. But how did you know we are in dire peril situation?”

Master Pent pointed above the sky and Bluervo came down, flapping its wings “It was clever Bluervo that had suspected something is amiss.” Bluervo added “Don’t thank me. Thank Boney too. He did a lot too to have gathered the rest.” Boney was flying above, refusing to come down.

Meanwhile, Princess Diana stood up and pulled the rest up. She asked Siloux if he is feeling better. She noticed that Siloux’s leg is badly injured and requested Flynt and Grandoth to assist him by the side. Princess Diana and Cecil went forward and speak with Lord Kenneth. “We need some medical help for Siloux.”

Master Pent coughed and smiled at her “Princess Diana, it’s been a long time since we last met.” She smiled and said “Yes. It’s been a long time. Right now, we have a serious situation at hand. One of my comrades, Siloux is suffering from a serious leg injury. Cecil observed the crowd and was shocked to see a man dressed in white robe. On the right shoulder of his robe, there is a circle with nine smaller circles seen.

Voices from afar shouted too “My Lord. Is everything all right?” These were the soldiers that accompany them on the mission. Lord Kenneth asked their whereabouts and the soldiers explained “There were movement in the forest ahead. Therefore, we decided to investigate. When we came out of the forest, we realized that the tavern had disappeared. We are glad that the rest are fine.” Bluervo added “Just now, I saw Black Wraith Demons at the forest.”

Master Pent sensed its surroundings and said “Black Wraith Demons presence cannot be felt anymore in this region. They must have retreated somewhere.” Cecil turned around and went to attend Siloux whom is resting at the tree near there.

Meanwhile, Lord Kenneth and Princess Diana went forward and thank the rest. Princess Diana added “Alyss. Thanks for your help. Who are all these people? Can you please introduce them to us?”

Grass Plains (Former location of The Lost Tavern)

What? Oh, right. Well, you know Master Pent, of course. This is Flangdor, he's a wizard friend of Aluvar's, I think. Well, he's with Shadows.

Hello Pri...

Shadows? Would that be the handsome man in the oddly interesting clothing over there, talking to the priest?

Uh, yeah. Poor guy. He was beaten by accountants and lawyers once, so now he has to wear that eyepatch. It's a really sad story.

Mmmm, sound fascinating.

Grrr...

Alyss and Diana walk over and join Shadows and Adric, who are quietly discussing matters.

I'd like to introduce...

Oh, there is no need. I am already well aware of the Princess Diana.

Adric bows respectfully toward the princess.

Princess? We seem to well supplied with those these days. Hey, I'm Shadows.

Diana extends her hand toward Shadows. As he is about to take it, Alyss grabs him by the arm, pulling him to the side.

If you'll excuse us, we need to have a word. Be right back!

Uh, sure.

Hmmm.

Alyss and Shadows take a few steps away from the rest of the party.

Look, I don't care one way or the other, but I just thought I should tell you that she's not your type.

My type? What's my type?

Well, I don't really ...

Yet you presume to tell me that she isn't.

Hey, I'm just trying to help you out here.

I see. You wouldn't happen to be my type, would you?

Me? Oh, you're not going to turn this around and make it about me! I...

Shadows reaches out, placing one hand around Alyss' waist and the other behind her neck, and pulls her into a long, passionate kiss. She resists at first, then realises that resisting is exactly what she doesn't want to do, at which point she throws herself fully into it, nearly knocking Shadows backwards.

Uh, well. It's nice weather we've been having.

Yes. I suppose. So... how did you come across us?

I felt the distrubance in the magical flow and came to investigate. I am part of a sect of priests entrusted with, well, you don't really want to know all of that. Suffice it to say that I help people in need. You were.

You're as mysterious as Aluvar and that Shadows character.

I wouldn't be surprised.

You know, that's just the sort of thing that Aluvar would say too!

I have known Aluvar since, well, the beginning.

The beginning of what?

Time.

Right. Like I said, you're all the same.

It runs in the family.

What?

Aluvar is my brother.

Shadows and Alyss finish their kiss just in time to hear that revelation.

I love you.

I know.

A moment passes.

Brother? Oh, you must be Great Uncle Adric! Of course!

You knew you had an Adric in the family and didn't think to ask?

You have an Adric in your family too.

Really?

I have no idea.

Shadows! :hmpf:

You know, Aluvar has been looking for you.

I'm as hard to find as he is, I'm afraid, though I wasn't trying to avoid him.

Oh, I'm sure, it's just that he's trying to reunite the Council of Five.

Ah. I never imagined that would be possible again, but with the Queen's return, I see no reason why we can't meet. I assume it is this deception of a war that we need to deal with?

Aluvar always said you were the bright one in the family. Good to see you've kept up with current affairs.

I'm quite pleased to see that your skills are as finely tuned as they are, given your general distaste for the whole thing.

You know about that, eh? It isn't that I don't appreciate the gift, I just prefer doing things myself. I must admit, time travel has been a blast though.

They say it will age you prematurely.

I don't look a day over, well, I certainly don't look my age, I know that much.

No, but does she know how old you are?

I don't care!

Alyss grabs Shadow's arm again.

She really loves that arm.

You were right earlier.

Of course. What about?

You said I had an Adric in the family.

You really do?

Well, I will.

Ah. OH! :oh3::blush::laugh:

Who are those guys?

New friends, it seems...They always appear out of the blue. How's your leg?

Well, keeping pressure has slowed the blood flow, but it would help if the arrow was taken out.

Want me to take it?

Yes, please!!

Cecil grabs the arrow, and tries to pull it out. He is successful, but the arrow starts to turn black, and then puffs into black powder. It sweeps up into the air and flies away in an odd, unnatural way.

Gah! What is it?!

An arrow that turns into dust? Maybe one of our new "friends" could help us.

Ignoring Siloux, Cecil asks Siloux about his leg, again.

Is your leg fine?

Yeah, but we better put some bandages on it.

I don't think we have any bandages, but I might be able to pull some cloth from the wagon coverings.

Cecil went and pulled some cloth from the wagon coverings, apparently unnoticed. He went back to Cecil and covered his wounds with the cloth.

Who is the guy in the white robe?

I don't know, but he bears the symbol I saw at the monastery, maybe he's from there! But he would have come from a long way.

Master Pent went towards Lord Kenneth and asked “What is the commotion about? Who is that enemy whom you have encountered earlier?” Lord Kenneth explained the situation as clear as possible. He told him about Old Brown, Jade of Kara, Mount Sophia, Priests and said “Master Pent, maybe all of this is linked to the recent Black Wraith Demons attack. The Capital is still under state of emergency which is our highest level of security and yet, our unknown enemy is able to ambush us in our very own lands.”

Master Pent added “Yes. I must agree that our Kingdom is facing a grave situation. Unfortunately, I had send Lord Calvin to assist Dragonator. I had heard words that Dromindur was under attack by Scorpion Knights. As for your armies, they are currently stationed in the Capital and will be assisting your father. Prince Sam and Lord Jason had been notified by Fernando.”

Lord Kenneth interrupted and said “Did you just refer to the noisy owl that always grumbles so much?” Master Pent looking pleased “Amazing, I did not expect you to remember Fernando. Just a little note, Fernando is part of Aluvar’s collection. He gave it to me when I am still his apprentice.”

Master Pent and Lord Kenneth went forward and joined Princess Alyss, Princess Diana, Shadow’ and Adrick’s conversation. Master Pent looking happy and said “Well, it’s a long time ever since I seen the both princess chatting happily. I can still remember clearly even though it was so many years ago.”

Both princesses smiled and Princess Diana added “Are my parents alright?” Master Pent replied immediately “Lord Hector is personally taking care of our King and Queen’s safety. You have my assurance. Princess, will you kindly return with me to Majestic Tower? Your parents will love to see you.”

Princess Diana shakes her head and said “I need to investigate the cause with them and find the Priests at Mount Sophia. Don’t try and stop me, Master Pent. I will return when I am done. Anyway, Lord Kenneth and the rest are still traveling with me. I am sure my safety is well taken of.”

As the rest is busy talking, Cecil lifted Siloux up “Let’s listen to what they are talking.” Grandoth and Flynt went along too. Master Pent said to them “I will need to return to Majestic Tower. Have a safe journey, everyone. I will be looking forward to your return, Princess Diana. Lord Kenneth, please assure her safety.” Master Pent looked around and smiled especially at Shadow and Adrick “Does anyone by chance know any teleport magic? I will love to have a quick ride back.”

Grass Plains: "Coming Soon: The Temporarily Misplaced Pool Hall"

Master Pent. It's been a long time.

Has it?

You don't remember me, do you?

I don't think so. Wait! You're that kid.

What kid?

When I was an apprentice of Aluvar, there was this kid who used to torment me with terrible jokes and borrow my books and generally get underfoot.

Sounds like Shadows, but that isn't possible, you're far too old  I mean ... it was a long time ago, maybe you're mistaken?

Oh no, it's him. Go on lad, tell her.

Of course it's me. I had so much fun with all of Aluvar's apprentices when I would visit.

Do you know how many years ago that had to be? :oh:

And?

You're... :oh3:

AND?

Nothing. Nothing at all. I... huh.

Well lad, perhaps you could make it up to me now?

Right, you want to hitch a ride back to the castle. I think we could stop there on the way.

On the way where?

On the way WHEN.

You're not making sense again.

Sure he is, dear.

You wizards are all the same.

That's what I was saying!

Alyss and Diana wander off to discuss wizards and their eccentricities while Shadows, Flangdor, Pent, and Adrick gather together.

Ok everyone, I'm going to go return Master Pent home, check on EB News and go heckle some poor oafs on this Mystery Castle gameshow I heard about, then I'll be right back.

ME! ME! ME! I wanna come along!

Ok, Bluervo, you can come too.

YAY!

I should stay here and help the others reach Mount Sophia.

Yes, I think so too. Just be ready when Aluvar needs the Council.

I will.

What about me?

Well Flangdor, maybe you could get Boney to talk to us some more?

I could try. I don't think he likes me.

You don't think anyone likes you.

Do they?

Well... I'm learning to tolerate you.

Really? Thanks! :cry_happy:

We're going now, Be back in a few minutes.

Shadows and Pent step closer and Bluervo lands on his shoulder as he recites a few words, sending them off in a puff of smoke.

BONEY!

I'm not coming down!

Please! I know that they were using you, just like they were using me!

Doesn't matter. They won't trust me.

They will, in time. They didn't trust me at first either.

But they do now?

I think so. I know they're beginning to, more and more.

Fine.

Boney lands on a stump next to Flangdor.

So, what is all of this really about?

I wish I knew. My master told me that we were trying to stop a war, but it looks like they were just starting one.

Indeed. They didn't tell me the truth either.

Well, at least he's been destroyed, I don't have to worry about him again.

Actually, he wasn't. The guards were, but he had left on some kind of secret mission when I was discovered.

Oh no...

I'm sorry. I don't even know where he went. They didn't tell me much, I don't think they trusted me either.

I guess we have a lot of work ahead of us, if we're going to help get all of this fixed.

Yes we do. I think our best bet is to stick to Shadows and the Princess, they're good people.

That Shadows is a little weird.

Really? I hadn't noticed.

You're a little weird too.

I suppose so.

Flangdor chuckles a bit as a puff of smoke appears. Shadows walks out of it with Bluervo on his shoulder.

Ok, we're back. He's all settled in, we had his diaper changed and he's down for a nap.

What are you talking about?

Does he always make so little sense?

Trust me, ladies, it's very funny.

Sure. Good luck with this one.

Yeah, thanks.

Enough standing around, we've got things to do. Bluervo, keep an eye on Grandoth. Alyss, Flangor and I are going to find her brother. Aluvar and Pinky are... well, wherever they are.

Druth Castle.

Really?

Where else would they be?

Good point. Oh! I bet that Miss Flangbottom is all over him!

YEAH! HAHAHAHA!

Could be worse.

Yeah, she's pretty decent for an old dame.

Watch out Bluervo, Shadows might get offended if you talk about old people.

Why? He's not any older than I am.

What is it with you ... people. You know what I mean.

Who's being offensive now?

I'm sorry Bluervo. Really.

Sure. It's fine. I'm not people. You don't have to rub it in though.

I... oh...

Bluervo, Shadows and Flangdor break out laughing.

You! Impossible!

That's it! We're going before we have to write any more of these long chapters explaining why we're all still standing around in this stupid field.

What?

Later folks, it's been fun, but we've got to blow this popcicle stand!

Shadows casts a quick teleportation spell, taking Alyss, Flangdor and Boney with him.

What did he say?

It would be hard to explain, but it was very funny!

You would say that, wouldn't you?

Bluervo laughs as Diana rolls her eyes.

Princess Diana and the rest looked in a daze and said “That was some kind of feat. Bluervo, you must be immune to that kind of entertainment.” Bluervo laughed again “Immune? Practically, I am facing such events almost everyday since the day Aluvar and I are together. Trust me, this is not the worse.”

Princess Diana said to the rest “We will be continuing our journey now. Flynt, can you request the soldiers to prepare the carriage. We are setting off soon.” Lord Kenneth pointed at Adrick “How about him? Is he joining us?” Princess Diana turned and said “I am not sure. But I will certainly hope he can join us. After all, he is one of them that saved us earlier.”

Cecil slowly went ahead without the rest and approached Adrick whom is standing away from them.

M10 Dromindur; The Ravine

That was some good fighting Calvin.

Thanks Dragonator, it has been an honour fighting with you.

Could you... come round the back please?

Yeah sure.

Dragonator led the confused Calvin round the back of the tavern into a secluded courtyard. He then went on to express his love for him and-

Now hang on, that's just to far Staudie! Your fired!

But I just wanted to have some fun...

Not funny!

I've only been in the job a few minutes...

Next! :sing:

M10 Dromindur; The Ravine

That was some good fighting Calvin.

Thanks Dragonator, it has been an honour fighting with you.

I have something to give you concerning that letter.

Oh yes, in the midst of the fighting I had almost forgotten about that and the treaty!

Yes, well the treaty has been accepted by all the kingdoms, including Morcia I would say. But this is a different matter.

Dragonator led Calvin inside, and from his pocket pulled out a small pouch.

This is a dragon stone, one of five. They are a great secret to the world, and only a few people know of their existence. This is the Stone of Knowledge. I am giving it to you to take back to Master Pent, as he requested in your letter. I only do this because I know that without it your kingdom will surely fall. But this is a great risk on my part, and so I am trusting you not to lose it. If it were to fall into the wrong hands, then there is no talling what could happen. Hopefully it should help your kingdom, if it is not already to late.

How can we ever repay you?

For now, consider it a loan for your services in this most recent battle. But I will expect it back once you have finished with it. I have placed- It has an enchantment placed on it. If it is used in any way against dragons, or if the holder wishes it, then it will immediately return to me. However it must still be guarded as, even though no wizard could remove this enchantment, the beings you will be fighting could.

Where are the other four, and what is so special about these?

The other four are not here, but I know of their whereabouts. These stones contain great power; together, they could break the world if the wielder so desired. This is why it is so important that you do not lose this stone!

How do you know all this Dragonator? Who are you?

You could say that I am a 'keeper' of sorts.

:oh: So does that mean that you are-

Hush, do not say anything you would regret. I do not wish to reveal myself just yet. All in due time.

Right. I will leave on my way at once to take this to Master Pent.

Excellent. I will have a small letter ready for you to give to him...

Dragonator sat down and quickly wrote out a short letter to master pent. As he sealed it, a small puff of smoke blew up from the seal.

What was that?

It basically means that if anyone except Master Pent opens it then it will immediately burst into flame, so no peeking.

Oh...

With that the pair went outside, and Lord Calvin went over to talk with his fellow companions. General Marcus approached Dragonator.

What do you plan to do now my Lord?

We have a kingdom to save. Let the troops know. Tomorrow, we march for the capital.

*insert dramatic music etc*

Excuse me, I didn't quite catch your name.

I am Adrik.

Hello, I'm Cecil.

Cecil and Adrik shake hands.

I notice you have that symbol, the Symbol of the Nine, on your shoulder. Are you from the monastery that lays at the base of Mount Sophia?

Yes, it is that very symbol. And, no, I do not come from that monastery, I came from a chapel not far from here. I can lead you to a faster, safer root to the monastery, however. It'll take you another two days going through this way!

So, we were going the wrong way?

Yes.

Oh.

Anyway, if you want to go there as soon as possible, we should leave now. I can answer any of your, or anybody's, questions on the way, but for now we must leave, quickly!

Location: K13 (Grass plains, Former Location of Lost Tavern, Western region of Black Knights Kingdom)

Cecil advised Lord Kenneth and Princess Diana, to request Adrick to lead them to the monastery and said “Adrick holds the Symbol of the Nine on his shoulder. That was the exact same thing I had seen previously.” Princess Diana nodded and said “He is right. Adrick saved us from Lost Tavern. We may need his help in this urgent situation.” Lord Kenneth replied “I shared the same instincts with the both of you. We will definitely need his advice.”

Lord Kenneth walked away and informed the rest that they are setting off immediately. Princess Diana and Cecil went up and asked “Adrick, we may proceed immediately. Please show us the way. We are very late behind our schedule.” Adrick nodded, and went into the first carriage with Princess Diana, Siloux, Cecil and Lord Kenneth. Bluervo circled around the carriages and said “This is the beginning of another new adventure, I guess.” The carriages began to move away from the former location of “Lost Tavern”.

And with this, the Lost Tavern arc is brought to a close.

Location: J14 (Nexus Plains, Black Knights Kingdom)

Sir Lance and his soldiers, reach Nexus Plains and ride as fast as they could, heading towards Majestic Tower. Suddenly, there was a dark mist caught onto them. Horses were panicked and threw the riders down. Sir Lance stood up, trying to grab hold of them, but it was too late. The horses disappeared in the dark mist. Sir Lance turns to its soldiers and said “We must stick close to each other and get out of here.”

As the dark mist settled down, Sir Lance realized there are in grave danger. They were 4 Black Wraith Demons, surrounded the group. One of the soldiers said “What should we do?” Without hesitation, the Black Wraith Demons attacked and devour all of the remaining soldiers, leaving Sir Lance crippled and alone. Sir Lance was terrified and shouted “Demons, what do you want with me?” One of them said “There is someone, awaits you, puny human.”

Soon, galloping sounds can be heard from behind. Sir Lance turned its back and saw Lord Jason with its Bat Legionaries behind. “Well done, Black Wraith Demons. It seemed Sir Lance is pretty worn out. Did I ever give you permission to leave the fortress?”

Lord Jason walked closely to Sir Lance and pulled him up and said “Now, look into my eyes. And obey my command from now on. You shall be my formal vice commander.” Sir Lance looking at his evil green eyes, could not resist its powers and is fallen to darkness. He looked up to Lord Jason, and said “Yes, my Lord. I will abide only your command from now on.”

Altogether, Black Knights Kingdom had completely lost Black Shards Force, who is one of the four forces swore to protect and defend its nation.

Flintlock Forest

"Ooof." Bleybeard was plopped in a sea of leaves, with nothing but tall trees towering above him. He sat up to find himself sitting at an opened door, hidden by a mass of foliage that made the structure it was attached to look like a giant tree. In fact, it seemed to be a collection of trees attached by rough wooden passages. The mass of foliage hid the structure perfectly, appearing as a bunch of trees to any passerby. He looked at the man at the door. It was Adam.

"How was your flight?" Adam looked at him with mock curiosity.

"Fine, thank you." Bleybeard said gruffly. How had Adam arrived? He hadn't been picked up, and they seemed to be deep into a forest. By the color of the trees, not the same forest Bleybeard had been walking by.

"Come on. They're waiting." Adam gestered to the hut. Bleybeard followed him to a room full of similarly dressed woodsmen, all with feathered hats.

"Who is this?" One of the men gestured to Bleybeard.

"Me?" Bleybeard boomed. "Why I am Bleybeard, the Dwarven Elder!"

The whole room burst into laughter.

"BLEYBEARD? Do you mean GREYBEARD?"

Bleybeard opened his mouth but shut it again. There was no use provoking them.

"So, Adam, what brings him here."

"He was in the middle of a missi-" Adam started, but suddenly they all heard a whoosh as something thudded into the floor. It was an arrow with an Orc's head on it, shot through a small gap in the cieling.

"-mission, and a successful one as you can see."

Bleybeard stood up strait.

"I want to see the King!" he demanded.

"And you shall, Dwarf," said an older man.

"Come along."

Bleybeard was led to a tree stump with a giant hole in it. The stump lay in the center of a bare room, somewhat ominous by it's own appearance.

"Step on the stump and say the place you want to visit."

Bleybeard did so and shouted, "Crownie Castle!"

With that, he vanished.

L-18

Crownie Castle

King Dorane sat by his window, frowning at the trees outside.

"What is it, your majesty?" The servant, Julian, was also in the room.

"Is something wrong?"

The King looked up.

"A Dwarf has just walked onto my roses."

Julian winced. The king treasured his roses like- wait, a Dwarf in the Garden?!

What do we do? Julian wondered. At that exact moment, a guard bust in yelling, "A dwarf is demanding to see you, your majesty."

The King frowned. "Give him a room on the first floor. I shall speak with him after the battle.

Yes, the battle, the King thought. The battle we started training and planning for weeks, maybe months ago. A battle atop Crown Hill, Crownies against the Undead, banishing them from our lands. Of course, we'll win easily. We may be outnumbered slightly, but the Skellies aren't good soldiers. Our Wizard claimed that 9 Skellies would die for every 1 Crownie. Considering that there were only 100 more Skellies than Crownies, the fight would be to easy.

"Than shall we shove off to Crown Hill?" Julian asked.

"Yes," replied the King.

The King mounted his horse again and looked around Crown Hill. The Skellies would appear soon. Meanwhile, the thousands of Crownie soldiers were lined up for battle, some with swords, some with crosbows, some with spears. They would win for sure. They were better fighters. They-

Sooo,

Adym said to Lord Dragonator,

Any idea where we are? And am I still to go forth with... you know, why you originally hired me? I've still got everything in my satchel here.

Somnium was silently trudging along, wondering what it would have been like if he stayed in school and went to University, and maybe got a job in hunting or bow making.

I say, that was a jolly good one, don't you think?

Oh yes, Bringdarf, that silly dwarf believed we could teleport him to Crown Castle.

He kept calling it Crownie Castle too, and ranting about needing to see King Dorane or some such. Pool lad was off his rocker.

Well, he's going to wake up later with a sore bum and no money in his pockets, I saw to that.

Sore bum? What did you do to him Bruce? :oh3:

Wot? Oh no, not that, he fell on it when he passed out from the gas.

Right then, let's split up his money then!

When I left him, he was rolling around on the ground yelling something about skellies and horses.

He won't be foolish enough to come barging into our forest ill-prepared again, methinks!

How about now?

Adym was getting tired of this, and so he threw another rock at Somnium, a lot lighter this time, only to leave a small lump, and a reminder to stay quiet.
