Dragonator Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 (edited) M10 Dromindur; the great Southern City Finally we have arrived! Yes it is good to be here. Stop the carriage! The carriage rolled to a halt, outside a large private home not far from the entrance in the northern wall. I need to speak with Marcus, Dragonator stated, stepping down from the carriage. Looking back at the mounted party, Dragonator realised that not only was Marcus here, but also the other three generals; Gillious, Spencer and Andrew. What are you three doing here!? Are you telling me there is nobody left at the keep to look after things except Grim? Don't get your cape twisted Drago, we're here on an important mission. Oh don't be a moron you stupid thing, he knows why we're here, don't you my Lord? I don't know why I'm here, this has nothing to do with Siege- Quiet! Sorry... You are here to meet the delivery are you not? The weapons we requested from the Dwraves? Spot on as always my Lord, and may I say your cape is looking particularly spiffing today? Yes, the weapons are to equipe mainly our mighty cavalry force, although I am sure one or two might make it through to the... Infantry. Jolly as usual, aren't we Spency? You know as well as I do that the Infantry men need better weapons. These ones will be sure to be of particular helpfulness to our army, aye, nudge nudge, wink wink. Whatever you say. We were informed that they would be here soon, so we came down to meet them, and the delivery dragon. Our Southern commander should know whether they have arrived yet. Good, just don't go telling anyone what's so special about them. Especially you, Gillious. I would not tell a soul, not knowingly at least! That's why I worry. Good day. The men parted company, Dragonator getting back into the carriage and heading off for The Ravine, with Marcus following on his horse, while the three generals went into the house, leaving their men outside to look after the horses. Talk about being inconspicuous. Ah well, they're good guys, worth putting up with. Now let us find our inn, I have a few arrangements to make before people start arriving... L7 Dragons Keep; Ragnir's Accommodation Ragnir sat in the dim light of his chamber, idly tossing a black Stones playing piece in the air. I wonder why I haven't heard anything from Dragonator? This is starting to seem a little suspicious. Baby Nizbet looked up at Ragnir, a cheerful grin on his little face. Hur? Ah you wouldn't know little one. I haven't seen your father recently. He is probably out practising with his men to the west. It must be lonely, there are no other dragons here at the moment. Hurr! Except you of course. A knock came at the door, which then creaked open to reveal Majiko, hunched over so his face was hidden. Majiko. A pleasant surprise, how can I help you? I... have come to feed Baby Nizbit. He must be hungry, running around all day. Most certainly, he will be looking forward to a good meal. Off you go. Nizbit scampered into the old wizards arms, who promptly turned and walked out. Something seemed a little odd about him today, he is usually much more polite... Up in the tower, Majiko struggled against the tight bonds that held his hands and wrists... Meanwhile in Adym's Workroom... The Shadow looked up at Adym with contempt in his eyes. You know nothing of me. My name is ore than a name, it is my complete being. You would not understand these things, it is something only we ninja can comprehend. To you, suicide may seem the cowards way out. To us it is a way of escaping dishonour. But you would not understand. You want to know how to walk quietly, like a leave on the wind? You could not do it with your clumsy feet and your dragging lump of metal. It is something that comes with years of practise, years of dedication to the holy temples. You wouldn't have the control to even attempt such a thing. I ask that you simply kill me now, like any honourable man would. I will tell you that no matter whether I die tonight or whether you leave me here, soon you will be a prisoner in this very keep, you and all your people. There is no escaping it. The Shadow sat back, patting from the strain of talking with a few cracked ribs. Know this. My brothers will avenge me. Never will you be free, never will you be safe, until your final dying day. May it come soon. The king should be informed of this, Grim said into the silence. It cannot go unnoticed that there is a traitor, or more than one, in our very keep. We may already be running out of time. Trust me, you already are. Grim turned and dashed out the door, heading for the king, leaving Adym with the ninja. Edited May 24, 2008 by dragonator
iamded Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 L7 Dragons Keep; Adym's WorkroomThe Shadow looked up at Adym with contempt in his eyes. You know nothing of me. Oh shutup! said Adym annoyedly, plunging his fist into the assassin's face, withdrawing it to show little more than pulp where the Shadow's head was. Or that's what was playing over and over in Adym's head. I may need to keep this man alive, for proof or something. I dunno. This certainly interrupted my plans, thought Adym. (Yep, italics are thoughts, normal coloured font is speech. ) Okay, I don't want you escaping, and you sure have managed to piss me off. Those were harsh words, I have feelings you know! So now I have to crush your hands. The assassin could only express shock on his face before Adym grabbed the Shadow's wrist and smashed his hand with the viciously hard metal of his left fist. The Shadow screamed in agony, but managed to muffle it down to a slight whimper. Adym grabbed his other wrist, while the Shadow squeezed his eyes tight and clenched his teeth in preparation of the pain about to come. Adym walked out of his work room, closing and locking the door behind him to muffle the cries of the foiled assassin. Wiping the blood of his hand with an old rag, he started up the stairs. Okay, I have to find Grim, I get the feeling I'm protecting him more than he's protecting me. I also should check in with Ragnar, and maybe I can visit the wizard and see if he can cure broken ribs, or make potions that force people into spilling their secrets, or cast spells that torture people into doing as you ask. Or all of the above. But first, find Grim, and see if the King's okay. Well, clearly he's not okay, he's crazy, but, you know, make sure he's safe.
Khorne Posted April 30, 2008 Author Posted April 30, 2008 O-8, en route to Hegathe "This is just great", sighed Bran, "out of all available jobs, you just had to pick one that leads us to Ankoria didn't ya?" "Stop whining about it, lad, our client pays well and that's all there needs to be to satisfy me" Tobias and Bran stood on the deck of the Serpent, en route to Hegathe, the main port city of the Kingdom of Ankoria. The sun stood high and a nice breeze blew through their hair. The weather, that's the only upside of this entire trip, Bran thought. He had never liked Ankoria, or at least its people and customs. Ankoria itself was a very awe-inspiring country, though, unlike any other the continent. This was mostly due to its unique geography which was very varying: in the north there was the Totombu jungle which subtlely gave way to the Serengeti savannah in central Ankoria. The border with the Dragon Knights' lands in the west was sealed (save for some passes) via a huge mountain range called the Dragontail Mountains which continues even further alongside the Morcian border in the south. Further in the west there is the Mahktesh Gadol desert which also continues along with the mountain ranges towards the south. The most lush, green and fertile place in Ankoria is the east, mostly because of the enormous delta of the Great River and the vicinity of the Fire Mountain, a sleeping vulcano whose ashes turned the lands around in it into fertile plains. In the distance Bran could already make out some of the huge square towers that dominated Hegathe's skyline. Hegathe lay at the foot of the Dragontail mountains, in the Mahktesh Gadol desert. Due to its closeness to Morcian lands, Hegathe also doubled as a fortress, thus explaining its thick walls and massive towers. Hegathe was a bustling merchant city, second only in wealth to the capital, Ozora. The reasons for its wealth are the nearby metal mines and its enormous slave markets. Hegathe was the place to be for a slave trader. Fresh slaves were being brought in every day, all captured during Ankorian raids on Ninja and Morcian lands. This is one of the main reasons Ankorians aren't very popular with the other nations. "Brace yourselves, we're in for a rough ride", said Tobias, who now faced the difficult task of leading the Serpent through the treacherous rocks and small isles that lay scattered before the Hegathian coast.
Shadows Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 M-10 Just Outside Dromindur Dragon Masters territory Oh, good, a town, and it looks busy. Can we stop and rest the horses? That, lad, is Dromindur, our destination. We've completed the journey? I wouldn't say that, but we've certainly completed the first leg of it. Still, that's good news, we made it here safely. Our continued safety is the issue. Take us to a pub called "The Ravine" in the eastern portion of town. Gladly! The carriage continues into town, passing small groups bearing the crest of other kingdoms. Aluvar sees a few old friends and more than a few former rivals along the way, but that is no surprise. The carriage, along with Flynt riding escort, reaches it's destination and the party gathers in front of the pub. A villager comes out to tend to move and tend to the horses. Thank you. What are you? Excuse me? You know, are you like, one of those wizards or something? What a rude question. You'd think that people would be more polite to visitors. AAAAAH! Talking birds! Sor... Sorcery. Yeah, we've heard it before. He just isn't very bright, don't be so hard on him. Shush now. I'm sorry about them. You should be! Creating such an abomination as a talking bird! You're irresponsible! Lord Dragonator exits the pub and, seeing Aluvar and party, walks over to greet them. Lord Aluvar, it is good of you to come! Just Aluvar, and thank you. I wish everyone felt so thrilled. Aluvar glances over at the villager. Hmmm... is he giving you a hard time? He just doesn't like talking birds or wizards, that's all. Should I have a word with his employer? That won't be necessary, I'll just turn him into a frog. Aluvar begins waving his wand around and chanting. The villager screams and passes out, landing in the mud. That wasn't very nice, but it was incredibly funny. I can see that this is going to be an interesting meeting. Of that I have no doubt, lad. Let me show you in, the staff will take your luggage up to your rooms, I've already seen to everything. Excellent, thank you very much. The least I can do, considering. Dragonator glances up and notices Alyss. I... haven't been introduced to your party, you know. Oh, yes, of course. This is Alyss, and Grandoth my driver and Flynt, our Black Knight escort. Hello Alyss, it's good to have you here. You look familiar to me. That's such an old line. No, really, you do. Uh huh. I'm serious! I know! You're... Aluvar coughs loudly. Enough introductions, I think, let's head inside before we attract any unwanted attention. They already had. L-16 Wolfpack territory An open field Bluervo and Boney are flying along, chatting about their pasts. So that's what happened? Exactly. It was strange at first, but I became used to it. I'm not sure I could. Pinky approaches from the north and sees Bluervo. Bluervo! Is this monster attacking you? Do you need my help? PINKY! This is no monster, it's Boney, you'd be surprised, but he's our ally. I... have you lost your mind? I'll just wait down below while you two work this out. Thanks, Boney! Boney lands in a nearby tree, effectively out of sight from any passersby. Are you crazy? What? He's a skellie! He's a bird, who just happens to have died. That's what I said! Maybe, but that's not the point. He's on our side. He isn't! The skellies are the sworn enemies of the living. They aren't! That's propaganda being spread to create this war. Skellies killed Aluvar's parents when he was young, you can't honestly tell me that you don't remember the story. I know, I know, but times have changed. They just want to live in peace. Then why are they attacking? They aren't, not as a whole race, it's just a small group of revolutionaries trying to cause trouble. Are you certain of this? Yes, absolutely! How do you know? The King's son told me! Who? Rangdar, the King's eldest. I'm going to need details and lots of them before I tell you where Aluvar has gone. I'm not sure this boner should know. Boney. Whatever. Fine, I'll explain everything, I need your help anyway. Bluervo explains the situation and then outlines his plan for further investigation of the Crown castle situation and Pinky agrees to go there and continue the search for the truth, also planning to check out the skellie story for himself. Fine. I'll go. I'm going to take your word on all of this, but it concerns me. Just check everything out and if you find something important, try to deal with it yourself. That won't be easy, but I'll try. Hesitantly, Pinky tells Bluervo where Aluvar is, then they part company, Bluervo with Boney, and Pinky, alone with his thoughts.
WhiteFang Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 (edited) Location: L14 (At the entrance of Green Valley) One of the soldiers on patrol barged into the tent and said “Lord Kenneth! I have something urgent to report.” Lord Kenneth stared at him and speaks “What disturbing news you bring?” He trembled and said “Master Kendrick is back, but he is severely injured. And we managed to find one of the missing boys with them. Among them, there are 2 travelers accompanied them. Most of our soldiers are badly injured.” Upon hearing this, Lord Kenneth and Lady Kristine ran out of the tent and were shocked to see them in such a bad shape. “Everyone, help the injured and attend to them.” Lord Kenneth shouted to his solders and moves towards Kendrick and asked “How are you feeling? Who did that to you?” Kendrick speaks very softly “Black Wraith Demon had strike us down. I am fine.” A gentle sweet voice appeared from behind and said “Lord Kenneth and Lady Kristine, it’s been a long time since I saw the both of you.” Both turned behind and were amazed and immediately bow and pay their respect “Princess Diana, you have returned.” Diana spoke “Please disperse the formality. I am no longer a princess. I am only a peasant in this kingdom. By the way, let me introduce my new friend. His name is Siloux. He helped us to fend off the demons’ attack. Right now, we should heal the small boy and the rest of your army.” Lord Kenneth said “Princess, I am about to get to it.” After saying so, he used his white magic to start healing the rest of the army. Kristine turned to Diana and said “Where have you been for all these years? Don’t you know the King and Queen missed you very much?” Diana said “It’s not important at all. I am back, because I miss my home. Not the home, which is at Majestic Tower. The Kingdom’s forest attracts me back.” Siloux was looking at Diana for a long time, making her feel shy and asked him “Is there something amiss with me?” Location: M10 (Rendezvous point, near the border of Dragon Masters Kingdom) Meanwhile, Lord Calvin had met up with his entourage. He looked at everyone, ready and eager. And he said in a firm tone “Karen, Lee and the rest of the brave spearmen. I am pleased to see everyone well and fine. Right now, let’s head towards Dragon Keep. We need to find Dragonator, the Supreme Councilor.” All of them hailed “Yes, my Lord” And they are beginning to travel towards North into the Dragon Masters Kingdom. Edited May 2, 2008 by WhiteFang
Dragonator Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 (edited) M-10 Dromindur; The Ravine The people were arriving. The Black Falcons representative, Gwilym, had arrived a short time ago, and now Aluvar from the Crownies. Leaving Aluvar for a moment, Dragonator went over to the bar, where Marcus was sitting, drinking down his third already. Galcor, come here for a moment. Yes my Lord? Run up to the tower on the other side of the bridge and ask the sentry to keep a special eye out today. Something does not feel right, and I have known to come to trust these feelings. At once my Lord. Galcor rushed off, in such a hurry that he almost bowled down Alyss as she walked by. Ah he can be a little excitable sometimes. Marcus, I am worried. Still no word from Ragnir, I wonder what's happening at the Keep? I'm sure things are going just fine, don't worry yourself, focus on your address to these people. This is much more important to us all than what may be happening there. But if the King gets word of this, or if something else happens, my plans could be ruined. That may be so, but as we saw during the war, you are very good at adapting your plans. Yes I know. This is one thing I would like to see go well however, without any changes. Perhaps soon we will be able to restore the Dragons to their rightful standing in the Kingdom, this alliance will certainly help matters against Ankoria. Once that treaty is gone for good, and the King is happy, then things may be able to start to progress. I am sure the other kingdoms represented here also need help. But I do not think our goal is unattainable. I have faith in you, you have never let me down. Thanks Marcus. Another beer? I want to introduce you to Aluvar, he is an old friend of mine. Sure, why not. Invite him over, I could do with another. L7 Dragons Keep; The Throne Room Morris was having a bad day. My King, we have got to go, this message must be delivered to Lord Dragonator immediately. But I haven't found Bongo yet! Help me find him! Please my King, let us leave! Lettuce leaf? Grim burst in through a side door, knocking over a small table with a golden goblet on it. My King... terrible news... assassin... the Keep... could be at risk... Get your breath back my boy, I can barely understand you. As this was happening, Morris and his fellow messenger edged towards the door, only to bump into Councillor Scorpia as he entered. My King is something amiss? I heard a commotion. I hope Grim here is not causing any... trouble? You! Why I should- Calm yourself Grim. You don't want to do anything stupid. I must explain a few things to the King. My... friends outside will escort you to your... room. Turning quickly, Grim found himself face to face with a pair of well muscled men. Well face to chest, anyway. With a struggled cry, Grim attempted to draw his sword, but the pair quickly grabbed him and carried him off kicking and struggling. At this point the messengers decided it wasn't so important to leave after all and went and hid under a table. Where is Grimy going? And what was that about assassins? Nothing you should worry yourself over, that one is a little crazy. Yes, I agree. Shall I help you find Bongo? Why yes, thank you! I knew I could count on you, Scorpy. Whatever you say. Soon I won't have to put up with your idiotic waffling. What was that? Nothing... Edited May 3, 2008 by dragonator
MagPiesRUs Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 (edited) Khamul, (M-22) The sun rose, the light managing to break through even the great foul air and mist that surrounded the Land of the Undead. The Troll had already begun beating the drum, the crew already scrambling to their positions. I was glad to be leaving this wasteland. I had hardly been able to sleep - the howling and wispering in the wind had kept me awake. I picked myself up, feeling the bags under my eyes. I hobbled off to my position, to the shouts of the Commodore. Grasping my rugged hands onto an oar, I awaited further orders. Captain Gerargh emerged from his cabin. Clearly he had recomposed himself after receiving the news about Krult last night, although there did still seem to be a twitch in his left eye. "The wind is behind us! Set sail, men! Row! Row! Row!.. To Crown Port!" With that, the crew gave an uneasy cheer. I glanced across the deck at Stunty, who gave me what looked like a half smile. You could never tell what was going on beneath that haystack of a beard...But I gave him a smile in return. The best smile an Orc can manage, at least. Edited May 2, 2008 by TinyPiesRUs
Shadows Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 M-10 Dromindur "The Ravine" Dragonator approaches Aluvar, asking him to join Marcus and himself in a drink. Hmm, oh, I'm sorry lad, I really need to take care of a few pressing matters before allowing the spirits to befuddle this ancient mind of mine. Huh? I get a little silly when I drink. Ah. So, I need to leave for the moment. There is a small expedition to make before the meeting. Right. Anything I can do to assist you? A couple of fast horses would make things easier. Of course. Dragonator waves over one of his men and sends him to retrieve a couple of their best horses. They'll be waiting around the back of the building. I thought you might want to exit discretely. That's a good lad, thinking cautiously. I appreciate it. I will return early tomorrow, if not sooner. I still owe you that drink. Don't worry, I'll need it eventually. Aluvar walks over to Alyss to tell her his plans. They then approach Grandoth and Flynt to inform them. I don't think that's wise. Don't question him, he's the wisest man I've ever met. Maybe so, but it isn't your responsibility to protect her. Protect me? Alyss shoves Grandoth backwards in his chair, sending him to the floor with a loud thud. I... I didn't mean anything by it! I know what you meant! Alyss suddenly becomes intentionally loud. All of you men are the same. One thing on your minds, and when you don't get it, you act like beasts! I'm tired of you and your attitude. I am going to my room. I will not be disturbed until the meeting! Alyss storms up to her room. I... I... I... wasn't... buh... huh? Aluvar whispers. Shush lad, we'll see you tomorrow. Don't drink too much, we'll need you then. Grandoth looks stunned and confused. Flynt just chuckles and nods at Aluvar, who then heads upstairs where he and Alyss exit through back window and down a trellis, not an unimpressive feat for him. He really played that well. He wasn't playing, he had no idea what we were doing, I'm not sure he does now. Oh. Alyss and Aluvar laugh as they mount their horses, then ride off to the east, leaving the town. Where are we going? To retrieve something from Marghan. Um... it wouldn't happen to be a sceptre, would it? Yes, it is. Did you dream something? No, it's just that when we were flying around, he told me about it. Then we went and got it. WHAT? Aluvar stops his horse, staring at the amused Alyss. He said it was my mother's, so it seemed natural for me to have it. Oh yes, that was thoughtful of him, but a bit careless. I'm sure he meant no harm Of course not. Where is it now? Right here. Alyss pats her cloak. Excellent! That saves us half of our mission. Half? What is the other half? I have to teach you how to use that. Is it difficult? Only your mother was able, though part of that was it's special enchantment. It will only work for a member of your family. Any member? Any blood relative of your mother. Is it very powerful? Well, we're going to need to find a place where we can't be interrupted, and you can't accidentally destroy a city. Does that give you some idea? Oh my. Alyss and Aluvar ride for several miles and the training begins. Many hours, and half a forest later, a small force of elite trained skellies attack them, but by that time Alyss was trained enough to fight them off with the sceptre. Exhausted, they collapse in the darkness. It looks like you've done it. No dear, it is you that have accomplished something truly amazing. With this, we may be able to stop this war. But how did they find us? I wish I knew... It may be related to the traitor in your kingdom, or simply someone trying to anticipate our movements based on the meeting place. It could be nothing more than coincidence. I thought the meeting was a secret, and we concealed my identity well, didn't we? You can't keep something like this quiet. Too many people see things and talk for a price. I suppose so, but they weren't just normal skellies, they were special. I know, that is what worries me. I think we should head back to town. I think you're right. As they are riding back, three black wraith demons appear out of the darkness. I am beginning to have a strong aversion to coincidence. Will this work on them? Oh, most certainly. See what you can do. Alyss hops down from her horse and proceeds to send the three demons back from whence they came, much to their surprise, whilst simultaneously taking out most of the remaining portion of the forest. Erm... I think I still need to work on limiting it's power. That is one of the more difficult parts, but you're doing fine. My beard isn't even singed this time. Oh, good! Aluvar chuckles as they begin riding again. They reach town at midnight and sneak up to their rooms, hopefully undetected.

WhiteFang Posted May 3, 2008 Posted May 3, 2008 Location: L14 (At the entrance of Green Valley) Princess Diana looked pleased and said “I am glad you will be hanging around for a little longer. Let’s walked over there and see how the boy is doing.” Both walked over and looked at Lord Kenneth healing the small boy and said “How is the boy doing? Is he recovering?” Lord Kenneth sighed and said “He is badly injured but he will live. Many of our men are severely hurt. We will return to fortress and nurse the rest to health.” He turned towards Lady Kristine and said “Sister, send an order for my behalf and tell everyone to gear up and return to the Capital. Select a small group of soldiers that is fit and well and stationed a listening outpost. Once we reached, we will report to Master Wizard Pent.” Lady Kristine nodded her head and carried her brother’s instructions.
MagPiesRUs Posted May 3, 2008 Posted May 3, 2008 Geragh, (M-23) "Sir..." Geragh stared up from his map, "Yes, come in Borikh" Borikh briskly entered the cabin, clutching at his sword, "Sir, we are approaching Crown Port now." Geragh rose from his seat, and hurried over to a nearby window. Looking out, he saw an ever-growing silhouttes of great stone structures. "Excellent. Well done, Commodore," Geragh smirked as he stared harder into the thickening fog lying on the seas. He took a deep breath, "Gather the crew and prepare them for battle. We have a hard fight ahead of us." "Yes sir," with that, Borikh left as quickly as he had come in. Geragh now paced his cabin. A rush of exhiliration had now caught him. With this victory, he will be put back in favour with the Great Chief. He will return to the Orclands a hero, Krult will be pushed aside to make way for the most skilled and brave admiral. Geragh took another deep breath, before returning to his map. Khamul, (M-23) As I continued to tug and pull at the great wooden oar, I gazed out across the sea into the fog. great black towers lying above the peaceful dockyards below, with small figures scrambling across it. Soon that port would be ours. Ready yourselves, men! Ready!" Borikh shouted above the commotion on deck. As we came ever nearer to the port, he began "Over there, men, stands a miserable collection of crown-adoring, gold cup slurping, scrawny little turkey-heads! I think that they will welcome death!" With that, we all let out a bellowing laugh, no doubt disheartening the enemy, "And before we go out to fight our cowardly foe, remember what you are fighting for - for honour, glory, death, pretty human women, the motherland, your families, the Great Chief - but most of all... Loot!!!" We let out another great cheer, one that makes even the boldest of men tremble. Chanting like madmen in true Orc-like spirit, we rowed with renewed vigor. As we came ever-closer to the port, a hail of arrows sailed through the sky, before pattering into the deck, and into those unfortunate enough to be in the way. Despite the bloodbath that had become the ship, we continued chanting and taunting the enemy, and it wasn't long before our own archers returned the favour. The Crown soldiers looked shaken now, but still determined to defend their homeland. This would sure be a hell of a battle.
Shadows Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 M-10 Dromindur "The Ravine" A tap, tap, tap at Aluvar's window. A banging at the door. Aluvar wakes with a start. Wha-what? Stop this commotion immediately! Aluvar rises from the bed and puts on his robes. He nears the door. Who is it at this unpleasant hour?!?!? I-I-I'm sorry, sir, I'm here to bring you a message, it has just arrived and looked important. A message? Very few people know I'm here, and they shouldn't be sending messages by normal courier. Aluvar opens the door. A small boy stands before him, holding a very large sealed letter. I-I-I'm sorry to have bothered you, sir. My mother thought you should have this. It's all right lad, no bother. Here, for your trouble. Aluvar hands the boy a coin, which immediately brightens his disposition. He quickly thanks him and runs downstairs with his new treasure. Ah, youth... Now, this letter is most curious. Tap, tap, tap. Oh, what now? Aluvar slams the door and goes over to the window where he sees Bluervo and quickly opens it. Bluervo, I'm so glad you're back! You might not be in a minute. Why not? Is something wrong. I'm not sure. Last time I thought I had bad news, it turned out to be good, so I'm being cautious this time. Just tell me. I'll show you. Bluervo flies back to the window, landing on the ledge. He then lets out the loudest whistle Aluvar has even been unfortunate enough to hear. OW! Don't do that! I had to, I needed to make sure he heard me. He? You've brought someone? That was NOT a good idea! I have. I should warn you, he's... With a blur of motion, Boney flies into the room, landing at the foot of the bed. It's... NO! BLUERVO! Wait, listen! He's... I know, but I had no choice! You were forced? Not exactly. Then what? This whole war is a trick! Hmmm... Well, I guess you'd better tell me yourself. SQUAWK! Oh, my head can't handle that this morning. Hold on. Aluvar begins chanting, casting a spell to allow Boney to speak English. Aaaaah, why did you do that? I need to understand you, and I haven't the patience for bird language right now. Just tell me why you're here. That isn't very friendly. Oh, all right, I understand. It's like this ... Boney speaks for 20 minutes straight, Aluvar listens intently. ... and that's it. We both want the same thing, can we work together? I'm shocked, I must admit. You're very lucky I'm not as young and impulsive as I once was or you wouldn't have made it from the window to the bed. I'm sorry about the past, but I wasn't part of it, none of us were. It's no different than blaming the wizard who cursed our lands. We can't blame you for that. Yes, well... Let's say I believe you. What do we do? Boney details the plan. Aluvar nods as he listens. Yes, that does sound reasonable. Fine, that's what we'll do. I assume you need to report back to the Prince? Actually, I'm supposed to meet someone here. At this meeting? Yes. The new Regulator of the Wizards League. The what? I didn't even know one was being selected! How is this possible! No one tells me anything, anymore! Well... I'd better stay out of sight until he arrives. I'm not even sure how to recognise him. Yes, you should stay in here. I'll find him, how many wizards could possibly show up at this thing? Thank you, and ... thank you. Aluvar glances over and sees the letter from earlier. He picks it up and, recognising the seal, opens it quickly. WHAT? SQUAWK! Don't do that. You startled me. Sorry. Why did you yell like that? Well, it seems you've already met the new Regulator... it's me. Everyone is surprised, most of all Aluvar.
WhiteFang Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 (edited) Location: M10 (In Dromindur) Lord Calvin and his troops had reached Dromindur. Lee speaks in an enthusiastic tone “Oh my lord, we have reached Dromindur. I heard this is a very busy town where all the trading takes place.” Lord Calvin looks around the town and there was traders busy selling their products from different country. Karen added “My lord, there seemed to be an exceptionally unusual flow of crowd. It seemed there are more soldiers from different countries are gathering at here.” Lord Calvin nodded his head and said “Yes, I been noticing this unusual phenomenon. Maybe, we should settle down in an inn and asked the innkeeper for some news.” Therefore, Lord Calvin made their way to Ravine Tavern which is the biggest in Dromindur town. Karen alerted Lord Calvin when they make at their turn “Look my Lord that is General Marcus from Dragon Masters. He is the officer from the Air Marshals Division. I remember him when we went for an emissary visit last year. He is the one whom take care of our lodging in Dragon Keep.” Lord Calvin “Yes, I recognize him too. Let’s approach him. I am sure he will know where Dragonator is. Lee, stay put with the rest. Karen and I will approach General Marcus.” Edited May 8, 2008 by WhiteFang
Dragonator Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 (edited) M10 Dromindur; The Ravine After his fifth glass, Marcus decided to step out in the air for a quick walk around to brighten himself up again. Or at least that was the intention... Good Morning my young beauty, and how are you this morning? Nothing to say eh? Ah I like the quiet type. Walking past the clipped bush, Marcus spotted some old friends. How do you do my lady, and you my good sir? I'm sorry, do we know you? Of course, I remember you from that delegation of men that visited last year, I organised your accommodation. No, I think you've- It's good to see you, I always remember a face. The man and woman looked at each other in startled amusement, not used to being confronted by one of the army officers. Could we go to work now? What? We were just on our way to work at the bakery. Oh... Turning away, he stood for a moment starring at nothing until some people grabbed his attention. General Marcus, do you remember us? I'm not sure who I remember now... I am Lord Calvin, and this is Karen, my companion. Ah yes, I remember you now. You must be here for the meeting, right? Well no actually, we don't know of- Good, glad you made it, Lord Dragonator will be pleased. Ah yes, he is who we are here to see and- Come this way please, I'll find you some rooms and then we can have our little meeting, aye, wink wink. Whatever you say... Edited May 5, 2008 by dragonator
iamded Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 L7 Dragons Keep; The Throne RoomMorris was having a bad day. L7 Dragon's Keep, Adyn's Qua- er, no, the Hallway, wait, no, up the stai-, uh, no, along the passage, no, well, you'll get the idea... Adym was running through the Castle barely following the echoing sound of Grim's voice. He neared the King's Throne Room, and heard Grim yell something, followed by the echoes of a chilling voice. He rushed along just in time to see Grim being dragged away by a couple of muscle-heads. Well, what the heck is going on here? Did I leave something somewhere? Have I been uncovered? Adym quickly checked his satchel to find everything safely tucked away. Hmm. Well Grim still looks to be in trouble, so I should help him. As the footsteps faded, Adym rushed to the corner, keeping track of where the men were taking Grim, but still keeping out of sight, following them around corners and through doors. This was all very intense and confusing for Adym, who wondered if it would be easier to just punch the guys. But no, he'd leave that for a last resort. He'd gotten away with keeping his shining gauntlet clean so far, and didn't want to push his luck. Stains are hard to remove you know...
Dragonator Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 (edited) L7 Dragons Keep Grim had stopped struggling long since and now hung limp between the two men that were dragging him along. They had taken the servants stairs down, so as yet nobody would know that anything was wrong. Grim was just hoping that somebody else had caught on to what was happening, but he suspected it was too late. Blearily, he realized that they had reached their destination. Councilor Scorpia has requested you sleep here tonight, one of the guards chuckled deeply to himself. Perhaps it would be wise if you didn't leave. Throwing Grim into the cell, the man closed the door and locked it. Placing the key deep in his pocket, the pair returned up the stairs the way they had come. Grim starred about him and realized he was locked deep in the depths of the castle. Nobody would find him down here. He just hoped that Ragnir might have caught on to what was happening... Meanwhile... Ragnir's Accommodation For the last few hous Ragnir had been trying to talk with Dragonator, but to no avail. Majiko still hasn't come back with baby Nizbet, I wonder where he is? And why can't I contact Dragonator? Something must be up. I hate coming to these places when the humans are unhappy, we should have just stayed home like Mum said... A knock came at the door and a hesitant and shaky messenger appeared. I... I... I am the bearer of a message from Councilor Scorpia... Oh please, as if my day couldn't get worse... Meanwhile... At the city gates Joseph stepped forward from his post at the gates and glared into the sun. Bill, do you see something on the horizon? Starting up from his sleep, Bill looked out into the distance. Oh by all the Gods... Bill jumped up and raced towards the large gong in the watch tower, but was struck down by a knife as he entered through the door. My master would not be pleased if you ruined everything for him now... A few minutes later, a lone alarm gong started to sound out its long boom, followed by another, but it was already far to late... M10 Droomindur; The Ravine Tavern Dragonator turned from the bar to see Marcus enter with a man dressed in the robes of the Black Knights. Excellent, that is the last of them that will be coming, accept for the man from Morcia, but he did say he may be late. I will go welcome him and then we shall begin. Dragonator approached the pair who had just entered. Welcome, I am Supreme Councilor Dragonator of the Dragon Masters Kingdom, and whom do I have the honour of addressing? Adym was shocked to hear the footsteps he had been following disappear. Where could they have gone? Did the guys vanish? He quickly yet silently scrambled down the steps, glancing through the dimness to see the two bulky men standing by a cell. Oh of course. The footsteps stopped, because the people stopped, not because they vanished. That makes sense. The men muttered a few words, before turning and heading back to the stairs. Oh shoot! thought Adym. Damn damn damn damn damn damn damn damn... He backed up the stairs, moving as quickly as he could, but one of the hulking thugs saw him, then yelled out before giving chase. Adym started to run, but the burly blokes were gaining on him. Suddenly, Adym turned and sent a punch flying into one of the guys heads, who then fell to the ground with a reverberating thud. The other bloke stared in disbelief at his buddy, then stared at Adym with murderous hate. He lunged his fist towards Adym, who dodged to the side and smashed his fist into the attacker's kidney. He fell to the ground in agony, before Adym whacked him on the head. With the two guards knocked out, Adym rushed down to the cell. Grim was standing up gripping the bars, he had been peering through wondering what was going on up the stairs, and was delighted to see Adym. Hey Grim, lemme get you outta there, and then you'll tell me what happened while we go to Ragnar. He have to tell Dragonator about this, and then we'll see to the King. Adym sympathetically glanced at the servants. Don't worry, I'll get you guys out too, but can you hang on five minutes? We really need to let Lord Dragonator what's goin' on. Adym bent the bars out of the way so that Grim could just squeeze through, then they started up the stairs, Grim kicking the guards as they passed their unconscious bodies.
Batbrick Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 M-18 Fershwitz Boran looked around in wonder as everyone stopped moving but him! Taking this time (does time exist if nothing moves?) to escape, he paused ot think how the battle had paused! Then it hit him! The writers of their destinies, the narrators if you will, had forgotten to keep posting updates, and thus the poor characters were frozen. Poor lads though Fershwitz, no man or beast deserves a fate like this! Still, he trudged onward calmly, stealing a stash of potions from a nearby Crown medic, and a lump of small gold from the Crown tower, and went on his way: "What a day!"
WhiteFang Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 Location: M10 (In Dromindur) Lord Calvin walked forward in a bustling bar and said “I am Lord Calvin of Red Valiant Commander from Black Knights Kingdom. And this is Karen, she is my Master Ranger. Karen nodded her head and remains silent. Lord Calvin added “I did not expect your noble presence to be in Dromindur. However, this will make things much easier. We need to speak in a less populated area. Perhaps, your room in this tavern will be much appropriate. There is something that Master Pent required me to hand it to you.” Location: L13 (Outskirt of Majestic Tower) White Fang army has finally arrived at the outskirt of Majestic Tower. The soldiers are tired and fatigue. Their injuries have not fully recovered. Lord Kenneth said to his soldiers “My soldiers, return to your loved ones and accompany them. It’s been a long time since you last saw them. We will mobilize later once the next orders are confirmed.” The soldiers showed a pleasing smile and thanks Lord Kenneth for giving them a chance to reunite with their family. Lady Kristine said with a smile “Brother, it seemed you have done something delighting for our archers instead of sending them back to our Fortress.” Lord Kenneth replied “In their eyes, they are thinking of their home. This is the minimum I can do for them. Black Wraith Demons have caused much harm to our Kingdom. And we must purge it soon.” Lord Kenneth looked behind and said “Princess Diana and Siloux, it seemed we must part here. I need to bring the injured boy to Master Pent.” Diana said “I will be around in this region wandering around with Siloux. I need to show him different places of interest in our Capital except Majestic Tower. We better get going now. Kenneth and Kristine, we will see each other very soon.” Both of them got into their horses, leaving the both behind. Kristine said “Guess its good bye for now.”
Dragonator Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 (edited) M10 Dromindur; The Ravine Dragonator studied Lord Calvin critically. Yes I can believe that. I haven't talked with Pent in a while, not since... well anyway, I am sure what he has to say is important, so we will go upstairs very quickly to see what it is, and then I want to get this meeting started, as it is already running late! Marcus! Yes my Lord Dragonator? Call all the representatives in here, and have anyone else who is not directely involved out, including any servants. What is to be said here is not to be heard by the wrong ears. I will not be long, i just need to go up stairs to talk with this fine couple. I shall get to it at once. Dragonator walked up the stairs with Lord Calvin and Karen in tow, their departure not going unnoticed. Right then I better get to it. Men, please kindly inform the customers that it is closing time. And you two, run and find the other representatives. I will be here finishing this Ale if anyone needs me. Meanwhile... L7 Dragons Keep Grim looked at his Adym in amazement. Now that's something you wouldn't see everyday. Thanks for knocking those guards out cold, I cannot believe Scorpia did that to me. He has been being very forward recently but that took it to far. It is assult, treason even... Oh my God... Grim stops in his tracks, with Adym standing next him. Faintly they can hear the sound of a number of Alarm gongs penetrating the walls of the castle. The city is under attack! It must be those dirty fighters from Ankoria. Lord Dragonator suspected that something like this could happen, but not so soon. Some one must be a traitor, and I have a fair idea who... Won't the city guards be retaliating? They won't know what to do, none of the generals are here, and a large portion of the city guards left with them on their... mission. The city is vunerable. Lord Dragonator is going to have my head for this. You've got more than that to worry about at the moment, I hear footsteps approaching! Quick, we will take the servants stairs up to Majiko's tower, we'll get a good view from their, and hopefully he can do something about this mess. The pair rushed off up the stairs. Meanwhile... Ragnir's Accommodation What?!! Ragnir roared loudly at the messenger, and shot a burst of flame into the air. How dare that rotten scoundrel! I'm so s-s-sorry great one- As you should be! You deliver the messages of a thief, a lying deceitful baby stealer! The messenger, faced by the full fury of a male dragon, turned and ran for his life. That Scorpia dares to threaten me with his insolent actions? And how could he take Baby Nizbit! Blazewing certainly wont be happy with me for letting him out of my site. Ragnir turned to face the window. What am I to do? I can't contact Dragonator, Scorpia has Nizbet as a hostage and will kill him if I step out of this room, and by the noise out there it sounds like something bad is happening. Something foul is definitely afoot here. Perhaps I'll have a nap... Edited May 9, 2008 by dragonator
MagPiesRUs Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 Frederick, (M-23) Frederick stood watch over the key port in the Crownlands, his full body weight on his spear. He had only joined the army two weeks ago it would seem. He thought this job would be full of excitement, adventure and glory. All he'd done so far was stand on one of the port towers, watching out for enemy attacks. Dead boring, really. He even considered going back to his old job, the street cleaner. At least he could fight the dirt. But here he was. Well, he'd best make the most of what he had at the moment. He stared out into the ocean, sparkling from the sun's gaze. Beautiful. The water went on and on, until it slowly faded into the fog far away. Frederick looked through the fog, at the faint silhouettes of the hills behind it, bustling with twisting trees and exotic houses. The Elflands. Oh, how he wished to be there. He had been fascinated with Elves ever since he was a child. Their ears, their pouches filled with delicately crafted arrows, their long glistening hair.. He had only read about them in books and old Crownian tales, never seen one before. Yet one day he hoped he would.. Wait, what is that in the distance? Frederick recovered from his daydreaming, alert as ever. What is that? It seemed to be getting larger. He watched it intently, for what seemed like hours. The silhouette finally emerged from behind the fog, and almost immediately Frederick recognised it. Great red sails, large ape-like skulls, tatters of wood and metal below it.. "To your posts!! The Orcs are attacking!" Frederick cried. As if they had been waiting for the alarm, the soldiers quickly rushed to the scene, some up to the walls, some down to the piers, ready to do battle. In an eerie silence, the Crown soldiers waited for the approaching Orc warship. It was not long before the ship came within firing distance. "Ready... Aim..." Frederick heard the commander calmly giving out his orders. The clicks and creaks around him suggested the crossbowmen were in position. "Fire!" The commander yelled with fury. The crossbowmen unleashed a terrible volley of bolts onto the ever moving ship. The Orcs replied by firing the ballista perched on the front of the deck straight into one of the proud towers standing above the port. With a groan, it came crashing down, debris scattering throughout the port. You could now hear hushed voices amongst the now concerned soliders. Another missile came from the ship, this one crashing through the piers, sending the men atop the once solid platform screaming into the murky water. Now the soldiers looked agitated. The ship came into contact with the port now, and the Orcs rushed out, yelling and chanting as they did. The soldiers in their way stood transfixed, and were quickly sent to their deaths. A great Troll came up now, and began to batter at the steel gates that stood in defiance against the Orcs. The Crown crossbowmen above continued to pour bolts down upon the Orcs, but soon their own crossbowmen appeared from inside the boat, and released their own terrible volley, cutting through the Crown Knight's chain mail and into their flesh. Frederick, in awe of this whole scene, didn't notice the Orc bolt heading towards him. He turned just in time, only to be caught in the stomach by the crude piece of metal. "Arrgh! arrgh, arrrrgh.." he cried at the horrible pain, then at the red liquid coming out of the wound. Frederick fell to the cold stone floor of the tower, now surrounded in darkness. It was over.
Scouty Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 L-13 So, where do you suppose we go first? I'm still interested in seeing your capital
Dragonator Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 M10 Dromindur; The Ravine Dragonator closed the door to his room, and turned to his guests. Please, take a seat. They all sat down and then Dragonator leaned forward. Now tell me, what does Pent have to say? L7 Dragons Keep; Majiko's Tower Grim and Adym had been climbing the stairs for a while now, and were getting very tired. We really need to find a better way than climbing stairs to get up there. Why does he have to live in the top of a tower anyway? Well he gets a good view. Fair enough. We're almost there. Rounding a curve in the stairs, the pair came to a large wooden door, at which Grim knocked politely. Majiko, are you there? Hmmm, no reply, perhaps we should go- hey, what are you doing!? At that moment, Adym charged the door, and swung his metal arm at it, smashing a sizeable hole in the lock. The door creaked open to reveal Majiko tied up on the floor, gagged. Majiko, what happened? Mfff, mf, mffghf! Oh, right... Grim bent down and untied the wizard. Thank you for freeing me, I was starting to get some bad cramp in my ar- Yes, yes, that is fine, but we don't need to know, really. I was going to say arm. Oh... Why did you not simply free yourself? My powers are blocked, an evil wizard is in the castle from Ankoria, and he has cast a spell over the whole castle stopping any magical activity. I am powerless. But what is that racket out side? That's what we want to know... The trio went over to the window and threw the shutters open, only to have a stray arrow pass through the wizards hat. Damn it, I only just got that patched up yesterday! Looking out the window, they were greeted by an unpleasant site. Scorpion Knights were swarming through the streets up to the castle, and the few city guards who were out there were heavily out numbered. Even as they were looking the last gong went quiet as it's ringer was thrown over the side of a watch-tower. The city is taken... How could this happen? Well, it looks like the Scorpion Knights sprung a surprise attack and- It was a rhetorical question. It is too dangerous for us to stay in the castle, we will surely be killed. Scorpia is responsible for this, he is the traitor. You think so, do you? We must leave as quickly and quietly as possible. Does anyone know a secret way out. Surely you do, Grim? Well if we hurry we could make it out one of the side doors, but otherwise they will be guarded. And then we would have to get through the walls again. What about through my workroom? That's deep in the castle, how would that help us? There is a pair of long-unused service doors in there, remember? They go out the back of the castle. After that we just have to go through the rear gates that so far will not be taken. An excellent idea, let us go, quickly now. The trio rushed out of the tower, heading for Adym's workroom once again.
