SlyOwl Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 [pid][/pid] Last full MOC before I enter the Pirate contest... *sweet* And, of course, the Islanders (and monkeys) are winning and thir vanquished foes will meet a culinary end :-D I have finally decided that Achu is now a member of the tribe, and the wizard/mage/wise-man/Amazonian-priest at that! :-) The first photomograph doesn't show this, but the beach curves upwards... Enjoy! :-P Quote
BlueBard Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 :-D VERY FUNNY! I love all the little details, like the magic fire, the thieving monkeys, the "hot" pirate, or the sumberged one...! *wub* Great Job, mr. SlyOwl Quote
Plural Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 Very cool, and good use of perspective. Now do Pirate vs Ninja! *sweet* Quote
SirNadroj Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 Nice scene! Very detailed ~ theres a lot to look at! (And there's that baby again! *sing* ) I also like the curved beach. The mountains also look good, but only from the perspective of the second picture, IMO. Great job! *sweet* Quote
MoonCheese Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 How did the blue-shirted guy have THAT much blood to lose? Assuming that's what the swath of red is... Quote
Faramir Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 How did the blue-shirted guy have THAT much blood to lose? Assuming that's what the swath of red is... One of the Islanders couldn't stand waiting and got hungry? Great job, love the perspective. I've never done a MOC like that, maybe I should try sometime. Good luck on the contest! Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted April 6, 2008 Governor Posted April 6, 2008 Gee SlyOwl, not a stud in sight - you must hate them X-D Once again another superb SlyOwl creation! You never fail to impress with your use of vibrant colours and the amusing antics you apply to the characters within. Quote
Captain Zuloo Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 I love it. Very um.... interesting. The hills are a little fake, and I think I like studs in a lego model as it makes it look more lego-ish, but I really like it. Well done. Regards, Captain Zuloo :-D Quote
hollisbrick Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 Pretty sweet Moc you have there! very detailed as well god job! *y* Quote
MagPiesRUs Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 Another fine MOC, SlyOwl! I really like those perspective mountains. Once again, I love the use of the gears and flower petals as arrow wounds. However, is it just because the pic has been resized, or does that baby have a moustache? :-D Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted April 6, 2008 Eurobricks Emperor Posted April 6, 2008 Your MOCs are always masterpieces. This one is not different. Those typical trademark of yours, great use of colors and a lot of humor, are again present in this one. Quote
Asuka Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 A neat and colorful scenery, very lively, with a fine landscaping and an interesting attempt to perspective depiction indeed. *sweet* Quote
El Bucanero Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 And I was just starting to think you nose would've been empty by now. Wonderful creation SlyOwl! One could wonder why almost all your MOCs contain baby's though. X-D Quote
SlyOwl Posted April 6, 2008 Author Posted April 6, 2008 The hills are a little fake, Yes, I rushed them as I needed to photomograph it before it got dark and started raining *sing* However, is it just because the pic has been resized, or does that baby have a moustache? :-D It does. You mean you didn't have one when you were born? X-D And I was just starting to think you nose would've been empty by now. It's a good thing I rarely use BURPs... :-D One could wonder why almost all your MOCs contain baby's though. X-D Well then, I'll start putting in tiny windmills if you want! :-P Quote
Opproperaar Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 (edited) Nice play with perspective. I especially love the woman getting dragged off by a pirate while an Islander drags a pirate off to dinner at the same time! X-D The guy drowning because of the Islander is nicely done as well. It looks mighty fine, and apart from the moustache baby your MOC confronts me with only one question: "Do you in fact hate studs?" :-P Edited April 6, 2008 by Hairy Ruben Quote
hippotam Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 This is cool! The scene is great with many smart details. I'm impressed by how you used the blue wizard's hat to imitate the water, I have never seen this before. Blogged! Quote
SlyOwl Posted April 7, 2008 Author Posted April 7, 2008 I liked my old title :'-( But I like this one just as much! :-P This is cool! The scene is great with many smart details. I'm impressed by how you used the blue wizard's hat to imitate the water, I have never seen this before. Blogged! Praise indeed, from the mighty hippo! *sweet* As for the wizard's hat, I used it once before in a tie-breaker MOC here, although it was very small, and so went unnnoticed outside the Pirate forum... And to yourself - you showed great ship building skills in the CCCV; are you planning to do more like it? Quote
hippotam Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 Indeed, I missed this disturbing creation. I wonder how it would look with the red hat... I'm suprised you noticed my ship, thank you! When it comes to pirates, I prefer treaure islands over ships and I probably will build it someday. I got a lot of pirates figs which are angry at me for not using them... Quote
SlyOwl Posted April 8, 2008 Author Posted April 8, 2008 I'm suprised you noticed my ship, thank you! Well, it won, didn't it? :-D And as a pirate fan followng (and entering) the CCCV, it was only natural ;-) Quote
Capn Frank Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 Great work yet again Cap'n Slyowl! *y* I think you do like studs! I don't know what you or other ppl are talking about. There's like 15 wholes studs that i've seen on this model. Welcome to the Land-Based MOC Index again. P Quote

Capn Frank Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 I can count 22! Got to get the craft knife out! That's exactly what i mean! There are even more studs on there than what i saw. P Phred: BTW, What's up with the baby with the mustache? Did you post an explanation yet; i didn't see one. Quote
SlyOwl Posted April 12, 2008 Author Posted April 12, 2008 Phred:BTW, What's up with the baby with the mustache? Did you post an explanation yet; i didn't see one. Random EB humour; I wouldn't do it in a contest It could be you! You yourself said you were rarely cleanly shaven! Quote
Joey Lock Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 Very Good!Looks like a Nautical times D-Day landings Evil monkeys attacking that poor guy! Joey Quote
