Vindicare Posted September 20, 2018 Posted September 20, 2018 (edited) I think it’s great. This is perfect for outdoor photos, I feel. I have a few ideas for outdoor shots...but I think this would finally get me out there. Plus, Wall-E has been lonely... this guy will make a lovely friend. Even being behind on other sets, this guy may be a day one purchase for me. Great review as well. I like how you really layout the build of this guy. Edited September 20, 2018 by Vindicare Quote

Hi @Vindicare, yes it is great for outdoor photos especially cliffs with a life sized light sabre hilt. Thanks for the kind words and I think I know who you are in instagram too! Quote

TESLA IS THE FUTURE Posted September 20, 2018 Posted September 20, 2018 Good set! Though I don’t like Star Wars. Quote
legolandia Posted September 21, 2018 Posted September 21, 2018 I think this is perhaps THE most ugly set I have ever seen in the SW series. Quote

r5-j2 Posted September 29, 2018 Posted September 29, 2018 (edited) Great pictures and a stunningly good review, but this Porg looks like it came out of the south-bound end of a north-bound Bantha!!..my goodness it is ugly!! Edited September 29, 2018 by r5-j2 Quote
Dragunov2 Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 I wonder where and how to mod the Porg to keep the mouth open. Maybe buy an extra one to mod those one Quote

Dragunov2 Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 Can u make the mechanism, so it works the other way? Quote
Jerac Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 I am not a fan of this set to be honest. A porg is two spheres merged: its belly and a head. The LEGO set is more like three spheres, more like a snowman. Why is it like that, no idea... Quote

The real porg has a round belly and long legs, while the lego sets has a bigger belly (which can touch the ground) and very short legs. The explanation is very simple : stability of the model. I wouldn't say it looks that bad, but it is still very inaccurate. Quote
sander1992 Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 Thanks for the review. This is a great set. A must buy for me. This pic for example matches the pose of this, but yes, it's a bit more chubby, and just 2 "spheres". But if you look at it like a buffed, sitting Porg, it looks ok. Quote

You mean like this one that Brandon Griffith built? I actually like his little porgs. You can see more of his mini porgs highlighted here from the Star Wars Days at Legoland California 2018 display https://www.fbtb.net/lego-star-wars/2018/06/04/brandon-griffiths-way-better-lego-porg-model/ I am still on the fence on the LEGO set porg. I might end up building my own at that scale, as there are things I don't like about the shaping and angling of the set version. Miro Quote
Dragunov2 Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 Once built, the set looks great. But maybe insert a larger technic piece so the wings go higher? Quote
