Could have given him at least a carbine. But I think the main problem is it's missing stock.

But I don't like that AT-ST anyways. Besides being an ugly coloured remake it still (or better because of it ) is oversized and has the same weird weapons on the side of it's head as the Rogue One one had.

Those ''weird weapons on the side of it's head'' are 100% accurate and have been a feature of the AT-ST since Return of the Jedi

I know the fleet being completely destroyed is canon, it's just incredibly stupid writing. And besides it being dumb writing it's also a bad decision for both the fans and Disney themselves.

If the remaining forces of the New Republic joined the Resistance they would have more unique troops, vehicles and ships which also equels there being far more options for the merchandise as there would be much more to make!

I think the design has more to do with the fact that they want to pander to nostalgia of OT fans hence reused ships .

I know that the AT-ST has tow weapon on the side of it's head. But I don't like how they are created in Lego. The Blasters are way to big and fat while the grenade-launcher doesn't look anything like the one you see in the movie.

True, but the amount of new ships in the ST is pretty lackluster (things like the AT-M6 are more or less ''reskins'' of old things so they don't count). The New Republic military would've been the perfect way to give us new designs alongside the older, more nostalgic designs

Are you sure? As far as I know, the New Republic military mainly consisted of ship types the Resistance had in their arsenal as well (A-Wings, X-Wings, Mon Cala Cruisers, StarFortress bombers etc) :classic: If I recall correctly, the larger ships introduced in TLJ (not the Raddus, the smaller ones that get destroyed during the chase) weren’t part of the Resistance before the destruction of the Hosnian system, so there’s a taste of what the New Republic fleet was like.

In-universe, it makes sense for the New Republic fleet to mostly consist of updated ships from the era of the galactic civil war.

Wonder how many people will be wanting a 'dark side Rey' right now

Easy wave 2 figure, if they revealed it as early as august.

I expect we could see a new B-Wing along with a new system scale Star Destroyer. Both feature prominently in the trailer.

possibly, the odds of a TROS ISD are unlikely though, they'd probably make it either origional trilogy or just do a FO destroyer.

At least for the Resistance it kinda makes sense they have old tech, but why they haven't teamed up with the remaining New Republic fleet is beyond me (nobody will be able to convince me the entire New Republic fleet either got destroyed or surrendered to the FO)

Pretty much, yup. But we know that the resistance uses old new republic stuff and that the new republic was demilitarizing, so they didn't have that much and whatever they did have wouldn't look to different to resistance fighters.

Palpatine's host body this whole time. He only created anakin because that was the only person who could build him c-3po.

For some reason when I read the qoute you had for this I thought you guys were talking about that alien in the falcon set, the raider at-st makes much more sense. And I agree, the weapons were very accurate.

Aren't the ones shown in the trailer original trilogy ISDs? They look like Imperial Class ones to me.

Depends. If it's just a vision, they probably won't release a minifig based on it

I really hope we get a Resistance B-Wing in the next wave as well as Kylo’s new TIE Interceptor (which is completely different from his TIE Silencer in TLJ).

Isn't that just a regular FO TIE Interceptor? :shrug_oh_well:

They are, apart from the red lines near the hangars

They surely appear to be, maybe Imperial-I class? In a brightened image, you can see they've been retrofitted with :vader:

ventral (orbital?) bombardment cannons.

First Order/Imperial craft from Episode IX looks to have a unified red trimmed motif - and I like it. But understated. I feel the TIE Interceptor from Resistance uses too much red.

I dunno. Theres the b wings which will be new/updated.

There's also Poe's new X-Wing in orange and light grey. Its the one leading the Resistance fleet in the trailer.

Seems a bit soon for another TIE Interceptor when we only just got one a month or so ago. I think the TIE Dagger has a better chance of coming out first since that one at least has a different design.

Can't argue with that. Honestly I think Solo and Rogue One introduced a lot of new and unique ships unlike ST. So that's one reason why I like those movies.

I think people are a bit hyperbolic when it comes to the alleged lack of new designs in the ST. Sure, you have your X-Wings and TIE fighters, but there’s quite an extensive list of new designs:

  • FO transport
  • Resistance Transport (the cockpit of which doubles as its own ship as seen in TLJ)
  • Rey’s speeder
  • Quadjumper
  • FO snowspeeder (deleted scenes, but still)
  • Starkiller (if it counts)
  • the Eravana (Han’s freighter)
  • the Supremacy
  • the Ninka
  • TIE Silencer
  • Upsilon-class shuttle
  • AT-M6 (which is more than just an updated AT-AT)
  • The superlaser siege cannon
  • ski speeders
  • the new transporter that appears in the D23 footage
  • FO treadspeeder
  • the speeder from the Pasaana set

And that’s just what I could think of off the top of my head :classic: And all but 5 of those listed above have appeared in LEGO sets

Good point, that’s also a new design

This only goes to show how hard it is to please a fandom as large and diverse (and insane) as the Star Wars fandom: people complain when the filmmakers rely too much on the OT (ST, spin-offs) but they also complain when it veers too far in the opposite direction (PT, even though there was plenty of fanservice and ties to the OT as well).

Star Wars is also the only fandom where a huge portion define themselves by what they dislike rather than what they like. Nobody hates Star Wars more than its own fans :laugh_hard:

It’s Sci-Fi, I can deal with ships that have unrealistic designs that may not be scientifically accurate. I draw the line at character arcs that don’t make sense in universe. And bad storytelling, hence why I don’t like TLJ. But I digress. Regardless, TLJ had some wonderful lego opportunities, most of which lego has already capitalized on. There are some things I would still love to get though. I wish TLG wasn’t afraid to release UCS sets based on the PT and ST. I get their reasoning and they’re probably right, but personally, I would snatch them up right away, especially anything from the prequel era

I'd 100% buy a b-wing but I really hope we get an imperial tie interceptor before our 3rd first order type tie interceptor in 3ish years.

They are modified isds, but I think lego wouldn't make ISD sets for TROS and more likely would jsut make it based off the origional trilogy. Unless these end up baing a big part of the film and they can figure out how to build that cannon on the underside into the set/

Yes, the sequel trilogy's had lots of great designs.

They shouldn't be too hard

I agree the new vehicle designs are great, I especially like the Starfortress' design (even though Y-Wing's are about a lot more effective due to their smaller size and shape). I don't really know why but the design just looks cool! My main problem is how even though there are new designs they aren't used much, like the Starfortress' appearing out of nowhere never to be seen again after said scene. They should use their newly designed ships a little more than the OT designs imo

It IS kind of tricky to design a model primarily aimed at kids that requires a stand  One could argue that UCS sets usually have a stand despite it not being necessary in most cases, but integrating a ventral cannon is another story since it would pretty much force the designers to include a stand

I agree, I would rather get an Imperial TIE Interceptor but I also wouldn’t mind the new FO version. I don’t like Vonreg’s, I think it’s ugly. Plus we still need an updated TIE Bomber. Also, it’s a crime they didn’t make a TIE Defender set from Rebels season 4. Can you tell I love lego TIE’s?

It’s a crime they didn’t release ANY sets based on season 4  Or most of season 3, for that matter. I’m glad we got Thrawn and blind Kanan out of the one S3 set, but there’s so much more they could have drawn from... Same goes for Resistance

Really all I would want from Resistance is Commander Pyre. I don’t really care about very many other characters. They aren’t interesting enough to me

I’m actually pretty bummed that neither of the new Ben Kenobi minifigures have leg printing. I thought we were past this with Star Wars, at least for the Jedi
