I’m curious to see if we make it to next Thursday without images leaking. I’m kinda rooting for TLG to get the blind reveal they want at this point.

Yeah, I get what you’re saying. We think it’s cool, but the general population doesn’t see it as cool. Whatever. I couldn’t care less, I’m not a people pleaser at all. I love this stuff.

Back to the ISD... so far the whole “silhouette on the box” thing has been an actual hint in both cases. The silhouette of the Falcon was on the box of the Death Star and it ended up being the next large scale UCS set. The silhouette of an ISD was on the box of the Falcon and here we are. I think it’s also worth noting that Cloud City was also featured on the box of the Falcon. I don’t think anyone can argue that these things are coincidence at this point. So it begs the question...what could be hinted at on the box of the ISD, if anything?

I don't remember there ever being a Y-Wing on the Falcon box. That was the next one to be released.

I said the next “large scale”. As in not counting the regular $200 UCS sets. I’m talking about the really big ones with the higher price tags. It seems to be a trend ever since the Death Star

People seem to forget about things like the Snowspeeder being a UCS set. That didn’t appear as a silhouette anywhere. Any appearance is just coincidence.

I can't really get a decent job until I get the degree, but yeah for as far as family goes I think they may have actually given up on me spending my money on useful things by now.

I don’t think the silhouette hints are a coincidence, but obviously I can’t prove the theory. I am interested to see if there’s some kind of silhouette on the box of the ISD. If so, and it becomes a set soon afterwards, I think it’ll be safe to say it’s an actual hint, and TLG has been doing it on purpose.

I agree, it sounds very weird that it's a coincidence since lego generally start developing project more than a year ahead. So you can say it has been true... so far. Thus there is of course no garantee that lego will simply decide to but a siloutte of something else than what they will produce next time, just to confuse us.

So far it seems like a good hint, but I wouldn't take it as a sihouhette of ship "x" was on the back of the box of set "y" so set "x" is confirmed

So what’s the threshold for larger UCS sets? Is it just DS, Milf & ISD? Do we include CC in that at £300?

Also... I may have missed it, and my box is in the loft, but can someone show me the ISD silhouette on the Falcon box?

It’s on the side of the box. And for CC, it was definitely shown on the MF box but it wasn’t the same silhouette style of the other two. Maybe it meant something, maybe it didn’t, but CC was the next larger-than-normal SW D2C after that. But as far as price range, obviously the DS, MF, and ISD stand out. The silhouette thing started on the DS box and the next giant set was the MF. That box had an ISD silhouette and the next giant set is an ISD. It also happened to have CC on the front of the box, but again, not the silhouette style, so that may have been more of a coincidence. I’m just saying so far both the silhouettes have come true as the next massive set. Again, maybe it means something, maybe it doesn’t. It’s not really a big deal, just something kinda fun to think about.

Right, I’m not saying it’s confirmation, but it seems to be a fun hint at what’s to come in the future. Not that it should be taken too seriously, but so far it does seem to hold true, that’s all.

So far these are all sets that were released around October instead of May. 

Does anyone remember the last time the first UCS of the year (released in May) was bigger than the second yearly set (released in October)?

I think the DS started the larger October UCS trend. It’s always been changing though. For a few years it was a January UCS and a May UCS, both priced around $200. For example, the Slave I and TIE Fighter in 2015

Now that we have a date and it’s so close I concur! It would be awesome   (...as I hit refresh on legoleaks).

Try and play the stupid silhouette game after the obvious large OT stuff (DS-MF-CC-ISD link) is done and it ends quickly.  There aren’t enough proper OT sets (I suppose something Endor related is coming sooner than later) and there won’t be some box clue linking whatever is left.  Not that I think there is a proper PT or ST set that warrants a UCS set of that magnitude but that would also cause a critical failure.

The Falcon made it very close but then was leaked on a poster a couple of days before. But yeah I’m hoping TLG can keep the teasers up until the release date.
