Seeing as it's Castle month how about this one?

Duncan Titmarsh is the Brickish member responsible for this gargantuan version at the Brickish annual general meeting, he must have the patience of a saint to construct all the six scale bricks and then build the castle with them. Everything works too, the hinges and the drawbridge.

James Sutton was responsible for designing and building the six scale minifgures ( except for Tim Fegan's Batman sneaking around the ramparts).

Thanks to Martin Long for letting me use his photos after my camera let me down.

It was a great event with a fantastic centrepiece and a good time was had by all.

at first I thought and? it's the yellow castle. But then I scrolled down and saw the hundereds of brick outlines...

*wub* Well done Duncan! A question though, what is six scale?

six scale is the size of the giant bricks. I'm no expert but I believe that due to the proportions of LEGO bricks they can be exactly recreated six times larger using LEGO bricks. Hmmm seems like a bit of recursion there.

Anyway some builders like the challenge of recreating the more unusual pieces six times larger and then using all their scaled up bricks to build something.

If you look at the white horse on the right , you can make out the original size 375 behind it for comparison.

Six-to-one scale, so each brick in the castle is six times as large (so six times as tall, wide and long) as an actual LEGO brick. It's a big shame I didn't get to see it. I couldn't make it to this year's AGM, but I took a picture of what various members built last year:

Brickish has been doing quite a lot of this recently, although the sheer size of this thing boggles the mind. Great work.

It was a good one Ralph, I would have liked to have seen your B-1B up close. I'm sure we'll meet somewhere soon.

And for all those trying to grasp the scale, here's a better image from Darren Smith, showing that Duncan really is king of the castle.

Holy... wow! That's awesome! Everything's done so well, I especially love the minifigs and their weapons. *thumbup* Wow, that really is big! I didn't realise until I saw the normal scale version how big it is... wow! Kudos to the builders for having the skill, time and patience for this! *thumbup* *thumbup*

I love things made in this scale. They are so mind blowing. Some guy did the same with some space sets.

It takes you alittle bit to actually realize what you're looking at is an utter masterpiece, and just not another yellow castle set

The yellow castle IS a masterpiece!

The 6 scale giant Yellow Castle already has it's own topic around here somewhere  , but the rest are new. (To me at least. )

On another note they are all truly massive castle creations! :oh:

My brain hurts just contemplating all the time and effort, not to mention money  , that went into creating each and every one of those marvelous creations.

Kudos to all the builders!

Wow, really nice. I especially like the "Tudor-Style" one, looks really good well-thought out. The diorama looks great too, like how the dragon was positioned.

Yes. Thus I merged them. :sweet:

Wooooooooooah! Flawless victory!

Errr.... what?

Pretty cool. I wonder how they fabricated the bricks.

I believe they are bricks made from bricks. The assembly pictures are pretty cool!
