I wonder how much they’ll take advantage of that. You raise a good point. I’m all for a whole lot of different coloured medium legs, they add so much value. We got a few in the Stranger Things set and I hope those colours come out elsewhere. Quote
Gorilla94 Posted July 12, 2019 Posted July 12, 2019 (edited) I love costumed characters like gorilla, dragon or giraffe suit, but i really hope they are better than the other 2 from tlm2. The melon is in my opinion easily the most ugly minifigure i know. The fox suit from tlm2 or something similar would be awesome. To be honest, i hope we won't get the new skirt piece or at least no metallic print so i can custom print the old piece. I hate the new piece and can't understand why Lego didn't just die the old one with Folge studs :/ The stylistic break on display is just awefull... Every pair unprinted medium legs would be extremely welcome. Edited July 12, 2019 by Gorilla94 Quote

They have done this too. Evil and good wizards, evil and good knights, and so on. Even reissue of old characters. We had several skaters, surfers, knights, gladiators, policemen, so actually there's room for anything.More from used "subthemes". Circus? We miss an acrobat, still. Mythology? We miss harpies, centaurs (CENTAUR) (sorry I have to repeat it: CENTAUR!). Monsters? We miss a shrouded ghost. Fantasy? Still no orcs here. STILL - NO - ORCS! More from the subtheme "People with small animal". Like a shepard with a sheep, a pirate with a new parrot, and so on. And then zombify them too. So for any character it can be male/female, good/evil, normal/zombie - that is already up to 8x possibilities for each idea. I'm looking forward the the evil male zombie pastry chef. And combine that with short legs to give you evil zombie pastry chef boy. As to orcs, I guess it means what you mean by them. There were loads of orcs/goblins in the licensed LOTR/Hobbit and all those Fantasy Era trolls, but also the goblin in CMF S13. 8 hours ago, sithewok said: I'm surprised to see so much dislike for the costumed characters. They are often my favorites from each series. Then again, after the full series of costumes, I suppose I could see how there have been a lot of them recently. I don't mind them so much when one or two, but there have been so many of them recently, they have become a bit boring. It wasn't just in the S18, but also TLM2 series had the giraffe, crayon and watermelon. On 7/10/2019 at 7:14 AM, Grover said: I share the same sentiment over the lack of historical themes as well. I doubt we will have a castle theme while HP is out, We had (historical) castle on the shelves at the same times as Harry Potter in the past, and also when LOTR was out. I don't think Harry Potter is stopping LEGO doing castle. That said, I think we have had better historic figures in the CMF series than in the castle themes in the past. Quote

I could in 1 minutes list 50 different characters, enough for covering 3 series of upcoming minifigures. And I even didn't list as much as I could have done. So, no, I am sorry, I don't think they can run out of ideas if they don't specifically want to. EDIT: PIRATE WITH PARROT. How good would it look with a neckpiece with a stud so you can finally put the fword parrot on the fword shoulder? Don't blame me, it was pictured like that in a 1989 poster, with Redbeard having the fword bird on his shoulder, and it took me 1 hour to understand they glued it. I still shake if I remind that. Well said indeed, not to mention how @Robert8's work only further bolsters this fact... Quote

gedren_y Posted July 12, 2019 Posted July 12, 2019 [Big rant about Castle sets.] When it comes to similar themes being out at the same time I think there are other considerations. You also have to look at parts production, particularly when you look at the LOTR and Castle themes. They lived together on the shelves because of market share intent, movie ratings made the LOTR sets marketed largely above the core Lego age range, so a theme made for younger consumers was warranted. Looking at the actual bricks they are made up of you can see that the sets didn't overlap much, but where they did it was usually the same color bricks. This meant that production facilities could be producing parts for both themes without having to change the color of ABS being injected into the molds. Harry Potter, on the other hand, is directed at Lego's core consumers. The construction also overlaps more fully with Castle design, but in colors that wouldn't easily be transferable. Our only hope for a Castle type theme to live alongside Harry Potter would be if Lego were to acquire the license for a property that is aimed at a slightly older consumer group. The Wheel of Time would be the most obvious, but if that had happened promotional information would have been out by now. [End of rant.] As to the current idea of Fabuland resurrection, I doubt those will see actual figs. The inclusion in the movies as something for the adults purchasing the tickets is one thing, but for the core Lego consumers they wouldn't be much of a draw. For a toy company to effectively capitalize on nostalgia, the product would have to be of high dollar value. Costumed characters, on the other hand, are something that do appeal to kids, so expect to see them. Figs with animals have seen a rise, even in sets, so we could see more than one in this series. The parrot is currently in a full production line (Xtra), so I wouldn't expect to see it here any time soon. Medium legs are one thing I think we can be hopeful for. Just be mindful that you don't set your expectations too high. Quote
Itaria No Shintaku Posted July 12, 2019 Posted July 12, 2019 I meant there is no ORC in CMF. And no centaur either. I mean, I could buy the entire run of either minifigure. Quote

I sometimes wonder though, if Lego may not deem there to be enough ideas Quote

K_Tiger Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 (edited) There's also a female hair piece. I like the eye-patched head. The scarred eyebrow is a nice touch, makes me want to make some kind of samurai with it. Edited July 13, 2019 by K_Tiger Quote

Technically the line's blind-bag packaging shtick can arguably accommodate anything and everything, but is that truly how Lego sees it? Quote
