The Kid Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 *sweet* Very nice! A lot better than I thought it would be! Hope it doesn't cost too much... TK Quote
xwingyoda Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 Tks Whung for the pic ;-) I splitted the topic to start a fresh new one for that baby :-P It looks pretty cool I have to say. Not fantastic thats for sure, but pretty cool. I like the lightsabers, they look retty cool. I'll have to see the price to see whether I get that ir not. It would be great to have pics of the DS soon, we can only hope !! GG dying like a sissy On !! *yoda* Quote
Silent Help Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 I wonder if his arms can be joined together? (Like in the movie.) Thank you for the pics, I was getting bored with out any new ones. Silent Help Quote

Tarfful Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 (edited) Simply stunning, the detail, the beauty, the lightsabers. *wub* That has to be one of the best parts packs ever made. I'm just guessing, but I think the piece count will be somewhere between 500-600 pieces so the price will probably be $50-60. Then again I could be totally wroung, but I don't think so. :-P Once again great find, and a sure must buy for me, that would make this my first UCS set, shamefull I know. :-$ Hopefully this means we'll get better pics of the DGS, TX-130S, and of course the new, hopefully minifig packed, DS. More pics of even more sets ON! Oh, and of course GG not being so much of a wuss ON, too. X-D -Tarfful Edited April 8, 2008 by Tarfful Quote
Plural Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 Awesome. Simply Awesome. Couldn't have looked better. Thank you oh so very much for finding this whung. I'm gonna be so poor by 2009. Quote
Plural Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 (edited) GRRRR. Sorry for the double post. Edited April 8, 2008 by Plural Quote
CopMike Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 Wow, looks cool *y*! I need to see the price to know how the overall value is, doesn´t seem to have any new cool pieces though. I probably get at least one. Now I want more news and pics of the 101XX sets that´s coming >:-)! General On copmike Quote
dunamis Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 Very nice. Can't wait to build it. Hopefully, we'll be getting some of these sets in the next 60 days or so... Quote
CF Mitch Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 Thanx Whung and Aayla. Like Silent Help, I was wondering if the arms could connect together... According to the instructions they don't :-/ Too bad, I don't think I will be buying this anyway, I never bought anything that was larger (or smaller) than MF-scale ;-) Quote
Holodoc Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 I have to agree: Very cool model! *y* I like the lightsabers, they look retty cool. Simply stunning, the detail, the beauty, the lightsabers. *wub* Well, I dunno. the lightsabers are just 1x1 round bricks 8-| nothing really special... I'm just guessing, but I think the piece count will be somewhere between 500-600 pieces so the price will probably be $50-60. Did you have a look at the pdf-files? The general is posing on a very detailed stand. That must be some more 100 pieces or so. I´ll bet this set ends up 80$+. Sorry. GG dying like a sissy On !! What? Green Grocer dying? X-O Where did you get that? ;-) GG ON! Quote
Tarfful Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 (edited) I wonder if his arms can be joined together? (Like in the movie.)Thank you for the pics, I was getting bored with out any new ones. Silent Help Good point Silent Help, I thinks so as the underside of his arms are flat so they probably can be joined together. In addition to it :Instruction 1 : http://assets.lego.com/bigdownloads/buildi...ons/4537207.pdf Instruction 2: http://assets.lego.com/bigdownloads/buildi...ons/4537208.pdf Regards Aayla Thanks for the intructions Aayla, they're much appreciated. I'm changing my piece count estimate to around 700 pieces because of the base that GG goes on, which means it will probably be around $70. Stupid base plate. |-/ Goes off to study the instructions more... copmike snip I know this is going off topic but your sig picture is just too cool, Robin Hood: Men in Tights for castle month ON! :-D -Tarfful Edited April 8, 2008 by Tarfful Quote
dunamis Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 I just went through the instructions and it looks like a really nice build. Very involved and lots of steps. I'm guessing the piece count will be closer to 900-1000. It looks like there are a lot of little Technic pieces and when you add the stand I think it gets it close to at least 900. Probably looking at a $80 USD price point I would guess. Looking forward to the build. Quote
Athos Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 I'm not a big fan of the super-figure sets, though this one looks to be the best of the lot. The face is very well done and I'm glad to see they didn't do a new face mold. Steve Quote
Tarfful Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 (edited) Thanx Whung and Aayla.Like Silent Help, I was wondering if the arms could connect together... According to the instructions they don't :-/ Too bad, I don't think I will be buying this anyway, I never bought anything that was larger (or smaller) than MF-scale ;-) Just because the instructions don't picture it happening doesn't mean they can't, just look more closely at page 23 of the instructions, blow it up to 100% if you have to and you'll see what I mean. ;-) I have to agree: Very cool model! *y* Well, I dunno. the lightsabers are just 1x1 round bricks 8-| nothing really special... X-O Where did you get that? ;-) GG ON! How is getting 64 round 1x1 plates in 1 set not cool? Arming all my Gungans with lots and lots of Blue Balls ON! :-P Regarding the piece count issue, I added all the pieces up in the piece index section of the instructions and I'm afraid it's higher then we/me predicted: drumroll please..... 1079 pieces! (Give or take a few due to mistakes. X-D ) So the set will probably be between $90-100. |-/ So much for buying multiples of the set. :-/ Very detailed base for GG to stand upon OFF! -Tarfful Edited April 8, 2008 by Tarfful Quote
Deinonychus Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 OHHHHHH!!!! Daddy Like! *wub* I was kind of hoping for something built from a lot of Bionicle parts...but this is way cooler. I'm also relieved it's not a bust of some type. This goes right on my TO GET list Quote
yellost Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 Wow, it looks fantastic! *wub* *wub* I'm definitely getting that one. I was afraid it was going to be another technic robot thingy like what they did for Vader, Jango and a few other which I thought looked lame at best but this is really good *y* . I just went through the instructions and found some really great details, like the little heart piece done with a brown cawl and such. The only thing that might need a little modding are the arms, though. I just love when this happens, I come here and nothing new has come out, so I do my little round of the forum and then 5 minutes later, I come back and Wham! big and fantastic news hit you right in the face! Don't you love it? I sure do, oh yes! X-D Thanks a lot, Whung and Aayla And look, the stand can revolve! power function ON! Quote
Deinonychus Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 Now that I've had time to settle down and think a bit... I'm kind of bummed he doesn't seem to have a cape. I guess it'll be straight-up action poses out of that until I can convince the Wife to work me up one ;-) Quote
The Kid Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 $100 price point? It doesn't look that big either... bugger, I'm not spending that much on a build-it-yourself statue - especially seeing as that means it looks like it'll be £70-100. :-/ TK Quote
goggleson Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 Those lightsabres are flimsy as hell.I made a green one once to see if it would look good as a 'thicker' lightasber... Quote
Natman8000 Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 I am impressed that lego didnt screw up on this one. Cant wait for the other pics. they sound promising. Quote
JimBee Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 (edited) wow! it looks...well, amazing! probably wont get it though, i gotta save my money for the minifig scale sets. ive already knocked the v-19 off my to-get list because of my budget :'-( *n* ... still, looks awesome! *sweet* this also raises my hopes for pics of the other new sets.
