Mrlikeslegothings Posted November 19, 2019 Posted November 19, 2019 I noticed when I was making the piranha more accurate, I noticed that the feet were off. The second yellow part is not connected to the rest of the foot and that separate part just moves everywhere when you try to play with it Quote
GLAP23 Posted November 20, 2019 Author Posted November 20, 2019 @Mrlikesninjagomoviethings I noticed that too when I built the Piranha Mech. I know a small fix to correct the feet, but it may not be perfect: Quote
GLAP23 Posted November 27, 2019 Author Posted November 27, 2019 I contacted ATK PLN (a small studio that created promotional material for the LEGO Ninjago Movie) to see if they can provide me with any files that can help me reconstruct the Garma Mecha Man from the movie. Unfortunately, they can't give anything out because of a non-disclosure agreement between WAG and ATK PLN. Now, I may need to contact WAG to see if they can help. Quote

GLAP23 Posted December 2, 2019 Author Posted December 2, 2019 (edited) @Mrlikesninjagomoviethings Some of the mechs have parts that are missing or not attached due to collision detection. Edited December 2, 2019 by GLAP23 Quote

I built the complete model, it is definetely my favourite model of all my collection. Had to make some minor modifications in orden to make it stand because there are many floating part. Quite complicate but totally worth it Quote
zweifuss Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 I gotta say, I'm always still impressed at your efforts, if you do the real Garma Mecha, wow, you better get some kind of trophy for that. It might take you a year to do it but your efforts will not be in vain. I haven't had time to try the dragon snout again, too busy with family life to play around with blender. But I know there's a way to super-impose images while modelling, so there is a way I can use your references if I get back into it again. As I said before, please continue with all this, it really makes my day when I see new stuff on this thread. Quote
GLAP23 Posted December 6, 2019 Author Posted December 6, 2019 (edited) @zweifuss I'm eager to view the actual 3D model or instructions for the Garma Mecha Man from the movie so I can reconstruct it. It's a big effort, but hopefully one day, I'll have something to work with so I can start working on it. If I can't view any movie production material related to this mech, the only thing I can do is to build it from the information I have. The only thing I can do for now is to just hope. There are large amounts of areas in the Garma Mecha Man that are difficult to see or obscured by other parts such as the shoulder joints inside the mech, the parts attaching the legs, and the internal structures of different areas. If anyone has anything I can use the build the Garma Mecha Man as it appears in the film, that will be great. Thank you. Edited December 6, 2019 by GLAP23 Quote
zweifuss Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 You know what, I suggest just trying to do it on your own for now. It looks like you've hit a dead end for resources. The companies won't let you look at intellectual property like that. Most of the surfaces are visible on the resources available, it's just a matter of being creative at this point, which I'm sure you have much of. Who knows, maybe your final design may actually be better than the original designers, I think the important thing is that the outside looks the same, not the internal structures. Are there any updates on other ones? What about the shark mech? Also, I have time over the holidays so I may be able to construct a correct dragon snout for you based on the drawings, no promises but there is potential. Also, there is a way to export the parts into LDD, so we can construct parts using other tools and export into the LDD library..https://github.com/Polymaker/ldd-modder/releases. This person seems to be progressing nicely on this tool, so it would enable you to keep using LDD even with custom parts. Quote
GLAP23 Posted December 24, 2019 Author Posted December 24, 2019 (edited) @zweifuss You are right. It's the outside that matters, not the inside. I now know that the model is intellectual property, and therefor, I'm not allowed to have it. Now, I regret the decision of contacting ATK PLN for help creating the mech. That was a big mistake, but they wern't able to do so because of an NDA, which is a good thing. Better to work with what you got than nothing. I am not trying to infringe on Warner Bros. or LEGO's intellectual property whatsoever. As for the updates on my projects, nothing new at the time because I have taken a break. Relating to the dragon snout: I believe importing extra parts into LDD is a violation of the EULA, but I don't know if this is still the case. Can't wait to see your progress with the snout pieces, good luck and thanks. Edited January 9, 2020 by GLAP23 Quote

I have made good progress and also gonna paint the claw yellow since Lego does not offer yellow for those part. I have also made several part substitutions as well. Quote

Ransom Fern Posted February 22, 2020 Posted February 22, 2020 Just discovered this thread, incredible work man! Quote
Matteo Nottoli Posted March 14, 2020 Posted March 14, 2020 still waiting for your amazing shark mech LDD file. will it be available sooner or later? Quote
legoman23 Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 (edited) Amazing work on the models, I still have a question however, will you ever create bigger models such as the Destiny's Bounty once the Garma Mecha Man and the other models are complete? Edited April 2, 2020 by legoman23 Quote
GLAP23 Posted April 5, 2020 Author Posted April 5, 2020 @Ransom Fern Thank you! There is a lot more coming soon. @Matteo Nottoli It is still not finished. There is still more areas I have to build. @legoman23 I plan on building the Destiny's Bounty after I'm done with the mechs. Today is a big release day. Cole's Mech is finally finished. The most difficult part was the finger hoses. There are some parts that do not attach, but maybe I can come up with a way to attach them. There are also small, structural updates to the Fire Mech and the Green Ninja Mech Dragon. Now available to download. As for the Ice Tank, I have built the rear wheels: Quote
zweifuss Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 Beautiful work as always, I keep checking this thread every week or so for updates. Glad you are doing well and keeping on, even though the world seems to be at a standstill right now, these models bring a smile to my face. Lego Digital Designer really chokes on these models though, have you considered moving to a more modern and up-to-date program, such as Studio (from Bricklink) or LDCAD? Quote
GLAP23 Posted April 6, 2020 Author Posted April 6, 2020 @zweifuss While I would like to use a newer program or an updated program, I will still use Lego Digital Designer at the moment because that is what I'm used to using. @mr4543r Excellent! It's great you built the brick-built wheel from the concept design. A good substitute for the up-scaled wheel used on the final design. Here's how the Garma Mecha Man's hand looks now: I have finally placed the propellers in the Shark Mech, but I still need to figure out how they attach: Quote
Matteo Nottoli Posted April 6, 2020 Posted April 6, 2020 amazing job as always! i can't even imagine how hard must be to recreate such complicate models without anything but some pictures and concept arts. The Ninjago movie and the shark army in particular are without any doubt my favourite theme. I first discovered this thread by searching for the mecha crab instruction and this led me to build a large diorama of the ninjago city under attack wich i slowly update as you give us your perfect models. Thank you very much for your wonderful work and dedication! Quote

Here, I will show you all of my recreations of the mechs from the LEGO Ninjago Movie. Since it is unlikely Warner Bros., Animal Logic, or LEGO will release instructions for the models used in the movie, I decided to reconstruct all of the mechs for everyone to build. All completed models are available to download here: https://bricksafe.com/pages/GLAP23 Here's a list of everything finished: Green Ninja Mech Dragon Water Strider Lightning Jet Fire Mech Quake Mech Here's a list of everything not finished or not built yet: Garmadon's Shark Walker Ice Tank Garma Mecha Man Feel free to add on to this project. Updates will be posted on this topic. First picture of progress from October 2018: Hey I’m probably just really technology inept but how do I access the instructions? And is there a way I can put them into stud.io so I can get a list of all the pieces so I can order them in order to build the mechs irl? Thanks if you can help ? Quote
