What are the chances to see a Series 3, even for next year? I mean, without the Lego Movie themes, technically this line among the Harry Potter/ Fantastic Beasts one are the only licensed lines that they have right now. Unless they introduced a new license as strong as the mentionated ones.

Next year the Tokyo Olympics will take place. There are chances for another sports series like Team GB (2012) and DFB (2016).

Maybe, but both of those were special series that didn’t count as one of the three yearly series

Though one could argue that such a series would differ from its predecessors due to the introduction of the new rules regarding regional exclusives, thus becoming a regular series... :shrug_oh_well:

Exactly!

I cant be released as a regional exclusive anymore. If such series happens, then it would have to be a worldwide release and therefore take the place of 1 of the CMF slots

The May slot would make more sense for that. But this discussion belongs in the future series thread

We're at least pretty sure that Series 20 will be expected to take up one of the three slots for such next year, so I am hoping a Series 3 for Disney can be assured for next year as so to become an annual mainstay within the Collectable Minifigure line. If it were to indeed play out that way, then that third slot could be reserved for some new experimental franchise for the line to "test the waters" with, given that there'll be no cinematic LEGO Movies to stake a spot, while I feel a second Wizarding World CMS will be reserved for Fall 2021 to coincide with the cinematic release of the third Fantastic Beasts movie.

I would love to see the Disney Series as a annual one, I mean there are a LOT of characters from there where Lego can work for the next years, with characters from Mulan, Beauty and the Beast, Coco, among others. And it would sell well, right now Disney brand is a really strong one. And while the Wizarding World Series 2 might come next year, I could see also Lego waiting until 2021 in order to release the line in time for Fantastic Beast 3.

And if Lego introduce another licensed brand for CMF, I can't see the Minions one yet. I could see them releasing the sets first to test the line. It would be curious to see if Lego could make a CMF series based on Hanna Barbera since its first movie for its cinematic universe comes out next year.

But getting back to the topic, I could see a 2020 release for Series 3.

Out of all the franchises that have been represented within the Collectable Minifigure theme so far, I do strongly feel that Disney has the best chance at longevity on par with the non-licensed line of CMS, having just as much potential to reach up to at least ten CMS due to its wide umbrella of TV shows and movies that the brand encompasses. So, yeah, I'd be more than happy to see Disney be the first licensed CMS subtheme to "crack the two Series ceiling" so to speak with a third Series. :classic:

I'd be totally fine with the former suggestion, though I'd like to know, what could a potential Wizarding World Series 2 cover that couldn't be covered by its playsets? Outside of the first Series acting as a way to kick-off the revival of the theme, was that CMS honestly really necessary? :def_shrug:

A Hanna Barbera CMS would definitely be much more preferable, as it'd have much more to offer in the long-run, much akin to the potential Disney has!

As a hypothetical sequence of release, perhaps January could give us a CMS based upon a franchise not yet covered by the Collectable Minifigure theme, Series 20 in April or May in celebration of the theme's Tenth Anniversary, with Disney Series 3 finally arriving in August/September to cap the year off. Yeah, I think I'd like it that way. :shrug_oh_well:

Assuming they don’t circle back once they’ve had their initial run at the movies, they could easily use minifigs we didn’t see. Just a few from last & this year, Gilderoy Lockhart, Moaning Myrtle, Tom Riddle, Ginny, Barty Crouch, Igor Karkaroff, Rita Skeeter, Flitwick(1/2 year).

I've never read the books nor watched their cinematic adaptations, so I'd like to know from those knowledgeable of the source material if any of those mentioned characters would be better suited for a second CMS rather than just being slipped into playsets. Likewise, did that hold true for any of the characters/variants featured within the first Wizarding World CMS from last year? :shrug_confused:

IMO Moaning Myrtle, Tom Riddle and Ginny would be the only 3 worthy of a CMF series but could also easily be put into playsets alongrg with the others mentioned.

D2C reveal at the D23 Expo in August? Maybe?

@DisneyLego I also thought that as a possibility but with its breakdowns and recent incidents at Disney World I’m not so sure they would want to promote a set depicting the monorail.

They could certainly throw them into playsets. We’ve had random, for the set they’re in, minifigures thrown in before. Like with the next section of Hogwarts, they could throw Moaning Myrtle in, as she’s only seen in the Castle, despite being early on in the series. The other characters are specific to the movies that have been covered in the sets we have.

As for as CMS’s that would fit in the sets we have, there are a few that could work nicely.

Easily detachable doors for realistic playability! :snicker:

The goofy fig seems to have the hat molded to the head and use midlegs. I feel that the figure may be a fake

Another image of the supposed Goofy figure has surfaced .. it seems legit .. but a few thoughts on it .. the hat does indeed seem to be moulded to the head .. I think this may be due to the angle of the hat on the head .. if it was a ‘peg’ hat like many of the others we’ve seen I don’t know if it would stay attached very well ? The figure has normal Lego legs, the torso has front and back printing .. so far there have been alleged leaks of Goofy, Minnie and Dale in what seems to be a conductors uniform ?

Haven’t seen the Dale leak? Is it a believable set up or just a head & hands swap with one of the many conductor minifigs out there?

They’re found in the blue/white conductor outfit in quite a bit of merchandise. I know I’ve seen pins, playsets etc. with them in this conductor theme.

It could have been a head and hands swap, but it appears to have been taken by the same person who had leaked the other two figures. It was a slight disappointment. Hopefully there’ll be some leaks of the actual set sometime soon.

Edit .. just revisited the pic I found .. it appears to be a dark blue torso with white arms .. there’s a gold looking chain stretching from one front pocket to another .. white shirt and black tie, dark blue ‘teen’ legs .. I can’t seem to find the torso on bricklink .. could be a new one ?

Hello all,

How constant is the minifig distribution within boxes of 60 minifigs ?

I just received mine from Minifigure Maddness, I am not donne feeling through all the bags, but I have already 7x Elsa instead of the expected 4.

I fear I may not have 2 complete series in my box!

Thank you

The D2C rumors have now been corroborated by the guys over at brickfanatics, considerably increasing its credibility :sweet:

Their report also mentions Goofy and Pluto being included. If they decided not to mould Goofy’s hat separately from his head in order to save their budget for a Pluto mould instead, that’d be a sacrifice I can live with :classic:

Do we know what Pluto we can expect? A minifigure with legs or an animal mould?
