jifel Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 do you actually PLAY with your bionicles or do you just build and display? i do both. never underestimate the fun of blasting a barraki out the window *wink* jifel Quote
filefolders Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 I used to play with them, my sisters would only play with the Throw-Bots and Bionicles with me, not system. It was probably for the best as my older sister still breaks any system creation she touches. They now sit in a box within a box in my room. Quote
goggleson Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 (edited) The wash of primary colours of the old bionicles of 2002 floods the plastic container within as the grey straps holds it in its green tinted enviroment. Never forgive TLC, the story line should've ended, but it didn't and now they're all locked away by elasticated straps while trolls, skeletons, humans, droids, clones and dwarves breath the outside air. *shrug* in a box, maybe I'll sell 'em all one day. *tongue* Edited April 10, 2008 by goggleson Quote
Tohst Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 I put them in dresses and hold tea parties. Tahu gets really upset at being addressed as Polly Prissypants -Tohst Quote
Natman8000 Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 I dont play with them in the way one would think. After realizing how wrong I was to have bought some 2007-08 sets my primary fun activity is seeing how many bionicles can fit in one box to be given away. *tongue* Quote
Trexxen Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 ^I'll send you my address if you're that desperate...^.~ As for me? I MOC with them. Simply the most fun you can have with Lego, in my eyes - and Bionicle is especially well suited. Though I DO have a Tahu Mata, Gahlok, and Kopaka Nuva on display...^.^ ~Trexxen Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 I don't play with them, not as the intended models. Buy. Look at the parts. Then it's pretty much straight into my color-sorted bins. It's usually a LONG time after that when the parts find their way into mocs. They're butt-ugly and unfinished looking as sets. Quote
iamded Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 (edited) Actually, I just did that little scene as a farewell thing, I'm shipping half these off to the winners of my auctions on trademe.co.nz, I'm selling off a bunch of Bionicle I got for free. Good profit there. ~Peace Edited April 12, 2008 by iamded Quote

hollisbrick Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 I burn them I hate them! How many masks in different colours can you make!? Talk about flogging a dead horse! Burn them! Burn them all!!!!!!! Quote
Siegfried Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 All but Thok, Kopaka and Kopaka Nuva are dismantled and bagged. (Kopaka was my first post Dark Ages Lego set; it was on sale. ) Here they (and my Knights Kingdom large figures) are prior to being put away. I try to use Bionicle pieces in MOCs if I can; my ship Balrog (soon to be renamed) uses a Rashiki backbone as an engine mount. Quote

Wait! don't put them away yet, I still see a Sinner in there! Anyway, I just leave mine on the shelf. I only have 4. Sometimes, I like to make Gadunka eat some members I'm mad at Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 Why do I have a feeling I've been eaten by a big-headed underwater beast and not felt it? JK! I keep all mine in a huge box; they come out a couple times every couple months, just to look at them, play with the masks, make battles, etc. I have a lot so making a battle is no trouble... I've tried rebuilding them completely(whenever I need a technic axle/pin I always pull it from a Bionicle figure ) but it usually fails. Quote

AgentRick Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 Some are posed in various ways, some are in storage, some are up north in storage(and by up north I mean in Connecticut. ) Quote

Besides, display-wise, I choose Castle over Bionicle. My Bionicle just lie in storage, so with a bunch more received, I have no room for them, thus selling them is the best possible solution for me. Also, the only Bionicle MOC I made recieved little feedback, so no more of that fer me. Ah heck, one last action pose. This... is... BIONICLE! ~Peace Quote

Anyway, if i don't take them apart and they aren't in the bin of doom, They're on display*. and if i did take them apart, and they're not in the bin of doom, they're on display*. *Haphazardly crammed on my bookshelf Quote
Maleagant Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 I usually use the Zamor, Squid, and Midaks to hit my Barraki and Nuva. Quote
baby Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 I just build & keep them back in the canister since i don't have a full collection EXCEPT the Bohrok & i don't have a glass display cabinet so i just keep them back in the canister to prevent them from getting dusty. LEGO is sensitive to water though, as the joint will be a little hard to move after you put them into water to wash them Quote
Oky Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 IMO, the best use for BIONICLEs is making stop-motion films with them! That's why I really like the new ones: they are getting more and more posable! I once made a shortfilm about a future deathmatch with giant robots starring Kopaka and Whenua, and their Matoran counter parts as commentators. It's called "BotBattle" and it's ten minutes long (that's pretty long for a stop-motion film!). I think it's pretty good. You can check it out by clicking the YouTube link in my sig. Today, they are all crammed into a square foot of display space, though. I hope I'll have the time someday to make a new one; perhaps this summer... Quote
