languages Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 Heres what really happened: (this was written by one of the May Tour participants) WOW! All I can say is that this was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. At the risk of seeming like I am trying to sell this, no true LEGO Fan should miss this opportunity. Words cannot describe, although I will try, the true experience that you will have by participating in the LEGO Inside Tour. Where to start? Well, I could start with the awesome hospitality and the fabulous hotel and food. I could describe all the Quote
The Middleman Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 I read this over at Legofan.org a while ago - no secrets mentioned, though! But not to fear, eh? ;) Quote

Mr. Lego-builder Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 Due time is a long time, there, Yoda. IT'S MORE LIKE NEXT YEAR!! :'( I just can't wait! Languages just makes it sound so good!! Unfortunately, I won't be able to go...this is going to give me nightmares! :^^D :P I wonder if Languages will ever tell us the DETAILS of it...the special set seems like it would only be a limited release and after it's gone...it's GONE!! *devil* :'( Quote
Starwars4J Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 Our last stop on the backstage tour was probably the most different experience. We got to go behind the scenes of the pirate boat ride. We actually were able to look down on the boats coming through the darkened ride and see how the ride was constructed. Again, something you would never have gotten to do in the US. Oh, I can't wait until our Mr. Phes sees that! He'll be taking a trip soon me thinks ;) And is it really true? You could pick CLONES and VIKINGs? Eek, I want to go so badly *wacko* How...exactly did you get this again? Random? Contest? You knew somebody? Quote
The Middleman Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 How...exactly did you get this again? Random? Contest? You knew somebody? Try $1,200. Quote
Starwars4J Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 Ah, just a ticket? Sure...an expensive ticket...but for an experience like that it certaintly seems worth it! I'll have to start saving up...maybe next year... And did that include everything, languages? Meals (I assume), but what about the hotel? It seemed like the whole thing was organized that way...do they have their own hotel or something? Even if not, it's something I will definitely have to do some day, and when I do...screw the secrets, I'll spill all the details :-D Quote
languages Posted June 22, 2005 Author Posted June 22, 2005 Hotel was included. The special set is a recreation of a model car built by kjeld when he was 14 using the first Lego wheels to be produced. It has new wheels as Lego don't make he old ones now and comes in a hand painted box with a cd with an introduction of the model by Kjeld, a lego history and the instructions in pdf format. There were 100 made and I got number 15 and 20. I will sell the 2nd set soon..... Quote
Starwars4J Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 How did you get two? Were there two members in your party, or did you manage to buy the second off of someone? Good news, apparently I'm going next year :-D Um, Languages, how exactly does it work? Where would I go about getting tickets...and is this event held once a year? Once a week? Just curious :) Quote
Lord Thrawn Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 Wow, Kjeld IS a very good builder. *wacko* But it sounds like a great little set. Very cute! Quote
languages Posted June 22, 2005 Author Posted June 22, 2005 I got two because my Mum went with me. I heard about the trip on Eurobricks and I contacted the email adress at thebottom of the post. From then on it was plain sailing. The trip runs twice a year, and next year their will b e a different special set! Quote
Jipay Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 I got two because my Mum went with me. I heard about the trip on Eurobricks and I contacted the email adress at thebottom of the post. From then on it was plain sailing. The trip runs twice a year, and next year their will b e a different special set! Ahah, they know how to addict people ! But how can such a trip be done once a year ? Doesn't this mean you are going to see the same things ? Quote
snefroe Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 so you finally gave in, languages? good... very good... i'm puzzled by the news of the new sets: a ucs jedi starfighter, you say. Do you mean the yellow starfighter of ep3, the red and white starfighter of ep2 or another version of the original starfighter? what's a RCX brick? what do you mean with "a remote controlled" train system? are you talking about a new train, or a new electronic system, that includes new rails and stuff? Quote
V()()D()() Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 Damn, they didnt show that stuff to us on the second tour!!! Quote
Jipay Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 what's a RCX brick?what do you mean with "a remote controlled" train system? are you talking about a new train, or a new electronic system, that includes new rails and stuff? RCX is the brick that works for the mindstorm creations. it's a mini computer integrated in a lego brick (big brick though) Quote
snefroe Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 thanks, jipay another question, languages. any clue on how big this ucs is? Quote
