I know I should respect someone else's opinion, so I'm doing just that. But this statement is pretty ridiculous, its like saying a set sucks because of one bad figure. This torso would do just fine without printed legs, they would obviously be nice to have but not super necessary

I agree. The torso looks fantastic, it has so much detail. Leg printing would obviously be ideal, or at least a cloth piece, but even if it’s just plain black legs, the torso still looks great.

Just because a torso is great, does not automatically save a figure with no leg printing or a cloth.

If this is really something you're ranting about you're lucky you aren't a marvel fan

No it wouldn’t. The torso would look horrendous with just plain black legs, it needs a cloth or a leg print to match the puffiness of the outfit.

Ro oh someone sounds entitled :/ Do you realisize how many new prints and animals they have done so far? They can only stretch the budget so far... It will look fine, I can envision it with black plain legs. There used to be a time where there were only one face print and torso print... they actually looked better without all the overdetailing.  Lego fans are really spoiled sometimes.

Are you kidding me? 2 animal molds are taking up the entire budget?! I refuse to believe a chicken and a stag are taking up the entire budget. Literally the most of the figures so far have reused face prints and no leg printing. Dude, dont reference the older times, I understand why those aren’t so detailed, but we are living in the new times where the figures should atleast have new leg and face prints. Tell me 3 overdetailed figures, I dare you. Nah, tell me 5 overdetailed figures.

Not doing leg prints will drastically reduce how nice the figure looks and it can’t cost much to design a new print, I’ve designed figures in a few hours with (if I can boast a tiny bit) close to Lego quality print detail (@hornerbricks, my Fred and George figure I’m not trying to advertise my account I’m just trying to give an example) however if you don’t like the figure you don’t have to buy it, also leg printing wouldn’t make too much difference, but I do think dual moulded brown and black legs would have been good

You’re sounded very obnoxious right now. Be grateful we’re even getting a Harry Potter line reboot, and don’t forget we got a collectible minifigure series last year with tons of detailed figures and new molds so you should still be satisfied. And if you’re still going to complain about the figures please just leave this thread for a while and come back more positively.

By calling buckbeak a chicken, you’re likening yourself to Draco Malfoy... Need I say more. That’s a cool cloud right there, wow, nice.

How about no? I am grateful for the 2018 wave, but the 2019 wave looks like garbage so far. Reused face prints, no leg printing, unaccurate sets. The clocktower never had the yule ball, the horntail would look horrendous robotic style, and much more.

Well you’re definitely living up to your username (that isn’t a compliment), I think we could all tone it back a bit, nobody likes this sort of atmosphere and I’m sure we don’t want Mods getting involved...

If this wave is garbage too you, nobody is forcing you to buy anything. And if you can't stand it just leave this thread and stop spreading you're negativity.

But as RandomBlocker said, can we now go back to topic? No need to bother the mods with this

Remember, calling Buckbeak a chicken gets you cut ???

That being said, it’s not just Buckbeak and the stag (although both are fairly large and complicated molds and the stag is in a pretty rare color). We’ve also got new torso prints for basically everyone, new heads for just as many characters as those who are reusing heads, at least three hairstyles in new colors, new dragon elements and quite likely a new dog.

And that’s just the stuff we know about. There’s quite likely some new molds and/or new colored elements that make up the actual builds which we haven’t got much information on yet. If nothing else, there are probably plenty of automotive parts made for speed champions and such that will be made in purple for the first time with the Knight Bus.

There’s still a lot we don’t know, but I think what we’ve seen so far is pretty awesome.

I think the new wave is fine.  There are some great figs, new moulds for buckbeak and a stag.  I remember the old waves these 2 waves so far are vastly superior.  I really would love to see a leak of the Horntail hopefully soon.

I am so far just as impressed with the leaks for this upcoming wave as I was last year’s, if not more. The best things for me have been the PoA Harry, Sirius, Buckbeak and Harry’s patronus. I also like the first task tri-wizard tournament figures (especially Harry and Cedric). Do I wish minifigures like first task Harry had leg printing? Yeah, but I am honestly so pleased with the idea we are simply getting more HP sets with amazing updates. This theme was what sparked my true love and interest in LEGO (specifically 5378) and seeing get a well made update after long hiatus has been awesome. As for rumored sets, I hope the Graveyard duel set is true as that was a memorable scene in the movies to me when I was a kid.

I love Lego minifigures and the Harry Potter characters I got last year was amazing but I feel like we should all keep an open mind until we see the actual official images of the sets! So far the only information we've got to go on is a description of the preliminary set builds from a Toy Fair and a few minifigure pieces which were stolen from factories and cobbled together afterwards! Hardly enough to judge a whole wave of 5-7 sets on . Personally I was absolutely blown away by the amazing builds from last year so I will withhold judgement until we see see the official set pictures (hopefully in a few weeks).

Ive heard a few people say that pieces in colours we haven’t seen before are taking up some of the budget, am I understanding this wrong because simply using a different coloured plastic in an already made mould shouldn’t take up any of the budget

It does take money and time though to set up a new production line, even if you’re using existing molds and plastics. I think I read in an interview about last year’s sets that it costs the same to make a mold in a new color as it does to make a new print.

I understand your position, I really do. I think the figures would be greatly improved with leg printing. Some of the reuses gases are annoying (Krum, I’m looking at you), and I am very worried about the Horntail (although I will reserve judgment until I see it). But who cares about the Yule Ball not taking place in the Clocktower? Would you rather get no Yule Ball characters or a second Great Hall that’s Yule Ball themed? I want the Clocktower and I want the Yule Ball variants of characters, I don’t mind if they get shoved together just so that we get them. Most of this wave looks wonderful to me, not perfect, but wonderful. There are a few minor things that bother me with this wave but to say it’s a garbage wave? The new Buckbeak looks great, the Patronus looks great, most of the figures looks great, albeit not perfect. We don’t know about the builds yet but if last wave is anything to go by, they will be awesome. We do know that the Yule Ball figures won’t have leg printing, but there has been no confirmation that they won’t at least have cloth pieces. Even if they don’t, I can’t possibly count the wave as garbage because of it.

Yup, the automated machines they use are extremely expensive.

LEGO rebooting HP theme was a pleasant surprise to me. Grateful for it? Yes. Expecting great designs? Always.

Just because a torso is great, does not automatically save a figure with no leg printing or a cloth.

That would be an even greater disappointment.

Yeah, I agree with you, my comment on the Clocktower was a mistake, I was just taking out all my frustration, it is fine for the yule ball to be in the clocktower, but atleast make it the clocktower with the medical wing and pendulum.

Honestly I don’t really understand the negativity surrounding the figures especially compared to other licensed waves, for one of arguably the biggest Marvel movies ever we got reused torso and legs across the majority of the figures in the wave, no new updated prints for major characters (and some characters omitted entirely), no new molds at all, not even for the main villain, a lack of updated prints and hair for a character with a new design that has been shown for quite a while, the list goes on - I’m super happy with how Harry Potter, on the other hand, gets amazing new molds, more printed mid legs, new recolors of hair pieces, etc.
