But if they don't rehire Depp for FB they shouldn't rehire Heard for Aquaman 2, she's done even worse things than Depp. But we'll end it here as this is the set discussion. Wouldn’t be the first time a main character has been recast (Dumbledore) as long as he’s got the hair and moustache should be recognisable enough as the character anyway, as you say back to the discussion
Tariq j Posted May 6, 2019 Posted May 6, 2019 The book build is pretty decent. And a good parts pack for the Hogwarts Tiles. The Fat Lady would’ve been a good inclusion here though.

But it’s cool that we’re getting a new sorting scene, the 2001 version is a nice little set and it will be fun to do a side by side comparison.
BrickSantorum Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 The Brick Fan is saying that the Bricktober pack is back in stock online at Barnes & Noble in the U.S.: https://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-harry-potter-bricktober-2018-5005254-back-in-stock-at-barnes-noble/

(besides from buying them online)

Next time I guess.
Decat Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 That Build your own adventure book has some good parts, and looks good for ideas, I'll be getting it when it comes out. The house crest tiles are also in the Quidditch set, not just the D2C Hogwarts. For decorating the great hall, the Advent calender has christmas stuff and Hagrid's hut has pumpkins! I want everything this year except the knight bus, can't wait to get building and redesigh my Hogwarts (Again)!

Here’s also hoping that they’ll eventually give us something a little more official in the Halloween theme - it was a major factor in the books after all, and several of the Halloween events made it into the movies. However, we might have to wait a while, since the best scene I can think of to really go to town on with the Halloween spirit is the troll attack from Sorcerer’s Stone, and it could take a couple of years for Lego to loop back to sets based off the first films.
Bricking_it Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 Amazon UK has the Bricktober pack listed as expecting stock and delivery expected on the 17th for £18.99.

Bricking_it Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 I got it the other day direct from Amazon. It must have been taken down since then.

If they continue this franchise without Depp as Grindelwald they might as well stop now, Depps performance was one of the few really good things in what is otherwise a pretty mediocre movie There is 0 reason to get rid of Depp as it all turned out to be fake. If they lose him then the FB series sadly dies as he was one of if not the only good thing about CoG.

Not to side track the thread but the reasons they have for not rehiring him are obvious. Adalsteinn Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 Has anyone seen this year's polybag? If we are getting one, that is
RogueTwo Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 (edited) 1 hour ago, Adalsteinn said: Has anyone seen this year's polybag? If we are getting one, that is I certainly haven't, but I would be surprised if we didn't get something. Two observations after re-watching Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkban (I'm sorry if these have been mentioned before): 1. The Harry Potter minifigures in the Knight Bus and Hagrid's Hut sets are identical. The film costumes are similar, but the minifigure is clearly based on the outfit Harry wears toward the end of the film. One less reason for me to be interested in the Knight Bus, then... 2. I don't think Fang appears in this particular movie at all! I had completely forgotten this! I guess the creature budget was filled with Buckbeak, Dementors, owls, rats, cats, bats, crows, and that weird sarlacc-egg thing that Hagrid covers up with a blanket when he has visitors. In my opinion, this makes Fang's omission in the Hut set much more excusable as long as he appears in a later set. However, this makes the absence of a new Grim mold (or even a repainted Husky) completely inexcusable, IMO. It would have fit perfectly in the Knight Bus set, or even as a tree-transformation feature in the Expecto Patronum set! Bonus observation: It's a just an amazing movie. I notice new things each time, like how Sirius has his wand wrenched from his grip as he's trying to restrain a transforming Lupin, or all the little details in the time-lapse hospital wing sequence (watch in slow motion forwards or backwards; the attention to detail is amazing!). Also, as a kid, I never got the joke where Hermione asks Ron: "Do you want to move a bit closer? To the Shrieking Shack?" Edited May 7, 2019 by RogueTwo

This is the reason the are so expensive resale because people like you buy the lot so other people can’t, they really need to put limits on them :(

Hoth Rebel Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 The pack is like €21 on BrickLink so why don't you just buy it there..
Seaber Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 How much do the build your own adventure books normally retail for? Lots of nice pieces and an extra Gryffindor torso are good, but it depends how much the set is :) Cannot wait for this new wave, when did we hear about brictober packs and diagon alley last year? Be nice if there was something similar this year!

If you preorder it now they’ll charge you the lowest price possible when it ships.
Lerux Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 It's 25 Euro in Austria, that about 28 Dollar. I hope it will get cheaper.
Chocolate Frog Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 Lego really need to find a way of getting more of the CMF uniforms out especially from other houses. If they did a Bricktober pack this year I would love a Slytherin set - Malfoy, Crabbe and Goyle (with reversible Ron and Harry polyjuice heads) and Tom Riddle.

Harry is wearing almost identical clothes, including the same jacket and probably shoes. Seems silly to expect a different print from Lego. From what I can tell, his ‘non-uniform’ costume throughout Prisoner of Azkaban is almost identicle throughout because he only has hand-me-downs from Dudley, only a few things fit him so he wears them alot. A nice little filmmaking detail I think, like how the director got the kids to decide how to wear their school clothes to be more realistic.
