Rayskull Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 (edited) The new Space Skull set really inspired me, I know there are a lot of Space Skull inspired work out there I hope this thread might be a place to collect some of them together. This is my personal Space Skull: UPDATE My Pick-a-brick order arrived... Tohst Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 The new Space Skull set really inspired me, I know there are a lot of Space Skull inspired work out there I hope this thread might be a place to collect some of them together. This is my personal Space Skull:I know that the normal scheme is black white and red, perhaps this guy is special forces...I haven't really thought that far into it yet. Would like to do more though. The white and blue looks really good. I may like it better than the real color scheme. Plus, the control sticks rock! -Tohst Quote
Sugar Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 Very solid build, I really like the blue and white in it, good combo. will you make more? Quote
Rayskull Posted April 14, 2008 Author Posted April 14, 2008 (edited) Very solid build, I really like the blue and white in it, good combo.will you make more? I have another atmosphere only, open air skiff, built with a very similar frame. I'll load up pictures in my Brickshelf account tonight. As for another Skull themed ship, I won't be able to stay away for too long... I love this theme. I hope Lego finds a way to continue the Space Skull sets, I'd like to see some more general helmets and visors. The controls I came up with one night when I thought I didn't have the motorcycle handle bars. Turns out I did, but these handle bars much more adjustable and just plain more detained. I don't know if I was the first to make those, but feel free to steal the idea. Edited April 14, 2008 by Rayskull Quote
KDog Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 The trans-blue and white are an excellent match and I love the minifig. It's kind of a mix between Star Justice and Space Skulls, like a zombified Star Justice! Quote
iamded Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 I love how it opens up, very cool! The model is sweet, the colours look great and I like the spikes on the chin, makes it look all the more intimidating. I hope to see more from you! ~Peace Quote
Tacitus Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 I agree with everyone else's comments. I'm almost tempted to say that I like it better than the official sets. Unrelated- it occurs to me, as I look at the forum banner, will the Space Skulls ally themselves with the Space Trolls? And what would a Space Troll starship look like? Quote
Asuka Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 A very cool work in a fine color scheme! I especially like your use of these trans blue 1x1 slopes for the eyes, that solid opening mechanism and these smart steering controls. The whole craft looks good with a clear design from the impressive front to the clear back section. Quote
Minifig Lecturer Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 WOW this is cool. I like your style :D Quote
zero1312 Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 Sweet!!! I love this menacing look. :skull: Quote
Rayskull Posted April 14, 2008 Author Posted April 14, 2008 wow, thanks guys. I'll update my brickshelf Account tonight with a few more entries. I still want to other people's Space Skulls work. :pir-skull: Quote

Batbrick Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 Great moc there Rayskull, I love how it opens, and it's blue/white colour scheme, you've certainly done the Skulls theme proud. BTW, I'm lost; what is the deal with the Space Trolls? Space Trolls? Where? This gives me an idea for a creation! Batbrick Away! Quote

Rayskull Posted April 14, 2008 Author Posted April 14, 2008 (edited) Alright, I have some more stuff to show you guys, I apologize in advance, some of the pictures are big. I don't really have a whole lot of legos, so most of my works are usually small in size, but I'm obsessive about details. This first one is an open air raider skiff (this is the only one that I might bust up for pieces later, 5 hours): http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/RaySkull...Cs/100_0791.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/RaySkull...Cs/100_0793.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/RaySkull...Cs/100_0792.jpg This is my Mini Sub. Not much to say, I think it looks perfect. (10 hours): http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/RaySkull...Cs/100_0788.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/RaySkull...Cs/100_0785.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/RaySkull...Cs/100_0787.jpg This is a heavily modified submarine set. I modified the entire thing, I brick built the tail fin, completely re-did the mast (now theres a fold down ladder and a hatch). (15 hours): http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/RaySkull...rwater_copy.jpg This is the RIFTER This is like my masterpiece, a couple things about this, The landing gear looked great here, but the plastic in those tiny joints warped after sitting on the shelf for over 4 months...I had to modify those, and the small winglets (blue flags) on the top of the engines chipped for some reason. (30 hours+): http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/RaySkull...Cs/v4_shots.jpg I can't live without the Rifter or my Space Skull (keeping forever) Edited April 15, 2008 by Rayskull Quote
Front Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Rayskull. I wanted to comment on your nice mocs, saying they look like great builds. Then I saw your last picture, the Rifter, and that one really looks awesome. I will have to study that one for a bit longer, trying to "copy" some of the cool methods you used in future mocs I hope you don't mind. Front Quote
Asuka Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Very nice MOCs and MODs, that submarine looks very smooth and a lot more functional. Your RIFTER looks very interesting and clever too, with a distinct shape and good engines, perhaps this fine vehicle would deserve a thread of its own.... Quote
Grand Admiral Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 Nice! This is a very compact and fun MOC. :skull: Quote

Rayskull Posted April 28, 2008 Author Posted April 28, 2008 (edited) I just sent this to lego factory (Blue Zeal Frag-Skull) it comes very close to my original. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/RaySkull.../frag_skull.jpg just for silliness http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/RaySkull...fense_force.bmp Edited April 29, 2008 by Rayskull Quote

Rayskull Posted April 30, 2008 Author Posted April 30, 2008 (edited) I like the little skull bots you made! :skull: Thanks, really though, they were inspired by your bots, just a little twist. Here's a little variation in 3vil colors: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/RaySkull...vil-version.bmp I really must say Lego Designer is addictive, especially since I just don't have that many bricks to mill around with.
