Posted April 14, 200816 yr Just a question? Do you guys and gals play with your lego??? Or like me are you a player who likes lego Although i'm a player who likes lego I do play when ever i get the chance. It's somewhat amusing even though I am 14 It is a playing toy after all.. and yes it is multiple choice Edited April 15, 200816 yr by Sinner
April 14, 200816 yr Hmm, that is hard to say for me. I mostly build/demount/rebuild things, but i also "play" with a few things, if you can call that "playing". It's not the playing you do when you're a kid, but something different. As i said, don't really know how to explain that

April 15, 200816 yr Building is playing. Following official instructions or doing mocs, both are fun.
April 15, 200816 yr Well what do you know, you can vote for multiple options. That's good, because I do all the four things on the top of the list. After I build a set, I, er, 'test out' the play features. Then, after it's all well and tested, I put it on display. Of course all display space but my Castle area is one big mess, so that ties in with number 4. I do MOC with my Lego, MOCing is great stuff, and lotsa fun. And the rest of my Lego is a big mess, half of it is stored unsorted in a big box, the other half is sorted into ice-cream containers (empty of course),a dn the other half (hows that for maths... ) is on display or strewn across a table. ~Peace
April 15, 200816 yr I play, MOC and display; in that order too! Some sets I don't break though, although time will tell! (I corrected the title. ) It's somewhat amusing even though I am 14 Mate. I'm 33 and play with mine!
April 15, 200816 yr Mate. I'm 33 and play with mine! I don't play with mine as much anymore, though I still like to!
April 15, 200816 yr I choose the above 3. If i were to prior the options, i will put it on display in my new house in the future. Of course, at the same time, when you build your sets, you are actually having fun and playing with it. When your inspiration kicks in, you will start to do some simple or serious MOC. Well, that's my simple opnion!
April 15, 200816 yr I usually build, then I put it on a desk or a shelf and then once in a while I will take it and play with it a little. But for me the most fun is building the set or MOC.

April 15, 200816 yr I both MOC and play with Lego, (its a building toy ), I usually build a MOC or buy a set build it then play with it for a while until I build something new, just putting a model on a shelf to me is kinda boring it may be nice to look at, but otherwise it just gathers dust. Though I know some people like to just display their Lego, if that's their cup of tea thats fine. Even I find a few models are best to be put on a shelf (UCS).
April 15, 200816 yr Hi! I put it on display, moc with it, and it is one big mess (well actually I got several messy heaps in vatious boxes because the acessability of my sorted bricks needs improvement). I do not play with it the way I used to when I was a wee lad, thus I did not select that option. However I cannot resist swooshing swooshable objects ;-)
April 15, 200816 yr Well, if you are considering launching the little LEGO missiles and weapons at the opposing army playing, then yes, I do play with my LEGO. And I am 15. :-)
April 15, 200816 yr As a mature builder, I, of course, build my MOCs in a cool, methodical manner, reflecting on the inherent artistry and aesthetic joy of each piece I construct. Of course, I find this hard to maintain when my significant other catches me making "Ptchew! Ptchew!" noises while I'm holding a fig armed with some new BrickArms prototype I'm . . . . testing. badger
April 15, 200816 yr All four! I think it's too hard to divorce play from building. I guess for me more of the pleasure comes from arranging tableaux or doing MOCS primarily for display, rather than firing technic shooter thingys, but even so Lego is still primarily a tool of the imagination, and in that sense it is all creative play. Even if you're just sorting through bricks sometimes a particular colour or parts combination can suggest ideas for future projects. I also find that even if you tend to 'display' stuff, the urge to fiddle and rearrange poses, actions, minifigs etc is so irresistible that counts as play as well!
April 15, 200816 yr Sadly I just mostly moc, for some reason, I just can't play like I used to, but I miss it, so one day, with a playtable, and a nice setup, a brickwars game will be more than satisfying.
April 15, 200816 yr I display new sets for a while. Then I take them apart and use the bricks for MOCs. And, when I have a little spare time, and I'm not in a building mood, I play with it. There you have it LuxorV
April 15, 200816 yr All of the above. I have sealed sets for future use, opened but bagged sets that were previously displayed and will be again eventually, containers of carefully sorted parts and minifigs, and bags of just simply colour sorted parts. I have mocs in various states of construction, or in some cases, destruction. I make sound effects when I play, and I have minifigs talk to each other. Seems normal to me.

April 15, 200816 yr If my trains drive around on my layout, is that playing or a display thing? I'm just wondering. Normally, I put it on display. I'll also start moccing as soon as I have enough bricks to do so. But I don't play with my stuff like putting minifigs in and out of passenger cars and so on. When a train derails, I put it back on the rails quickly. I don't let the LEGO fire brigade and rescue helicopter come. My train layout is there for looking at it.
