LM71Blackbird Posted January 1, 2019 Posted January 1, 2019 (edited) Marine Surveyor On the docks of Quinnsville's busy harbor, is the office of the marine surveyor. QV 2.1 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr They are in charge of checking the goods and state of the smaller vessels and in unison with the harbor master keep the docks running smoothly. It takes great skill to perform this job so the harbor doesn't become a complete mess! ----------------------------------- As my first build in quite some time, I just wanted to do something simple. This will be licensed as a Large Commerce in Quinnsville for December. This isn't my best or most elaborate work but, as always, C&C are welcome and apprecieated and thanks for looking! Ayrlego Posted January 1, 2019 Posted January 1, 2019 Nice to see you back to expanding Quinnsville Blackbird with this busy looking harbour scene here. I like the idea of a Marine surveyor's office and it is noted away for possible future use! Some simple suggestions to enhance it a little bit IMO would be to maybe add a quick border and vary the level of the water a little by using some plates or tiles. Bregir uses a very simple water technique in many of his builds that looks quite good if you want to see what I mean. If you were interested in enhancing it even further, may try a brick built roof. It's tricky to orientate it in LDD but I think it can be really enhance a building like this one. Anyone, just some ideas, good work here! Quote
Fraunces Posted January 1, 2019 Posted January 1, 2019 very cool warehouse, I was just about to build something similar (Anno 1602 2nd age warehouse style), this will be a very positive inspiration Quote
Darnok Posted January 1, 2019 Posted January 1, 2019 Neat and clean build, loving the wooden dock parts in particular. I think it would profit by some more colour (very white/BROWN/black) and more minifigs "in action". Some more pictures of the brickbuilt ship would be great! 3 hours ago, Fraunces said: very cool warehouse, I was just about to build something similar (Anno 1602 2nd age warehouse style), this will be a very positive inspiration Oh, shiny! Looking forward to it already. The Anno games are a great source of inspiration in my opinion (and pretty darn good games ). Quote

I've still got loads of builds that I want to do for Quinnsville... Yeah, it is a little plain in some areas. Like I said, it's not my best work. I will definitely take those suggestions for my future builds though! 8 hours ago, Fraunces said: very cool warehouse, I was just about to build something similar (Anno 1602 2nd age warehouse style), this will be a very positive inspiration Thank you!
