Posted January 7, 20196 yr Hi all! Let me introduce my new MOC: Sulphur-crested cockatoo. Quote The sulphur-crested cockatoo (Cacatua galerita) is a relatively large white cockatoo found in wooded habitats in Australia, and New Guinea and some of the islands of Indonesia. They can be locally very numerous, leading to them sometimes being considered pests. A highly intelligent bird, they are well known in aviculture, although they can be demanding pets. Thats all, I hope you enjoed! Comments are welcome. Have a nice day! You can check my other MOCs on my flickr or instagram.
January 7, 20196 yr Those eyes are amazing! Excellent use of the minifig ruff to make the eyelids. Everything else around the head is lovely, too. Great work. edit: Is the iris a Clikit? Edited January 7, 20196 yr by jamesn
January 7, 20196 yr If I walked into a room, and this was sitting on the table, I'd think this was the real deal! The head especially is wonderfully textured, and that beak is almost surreal.
January 8, 20196 yr Amazing! The clever usage of parts is out of this world! The entire bird itself looks really adorable!
January 8, 20196 yr Author Thanks for the comments! I am glad that you liked the model. 15 hours ago, jamesn said: edit: Is the iris a Clikit? Yes, clikits003. Edited January 8, 20196 yr by PolkovnikOnTheWhiteHorse
January 8, 20196 yr You need to borrow a parrot cage to photograph this in... Seriously great work... Makes me want one for my shelf lol
January 8, 20196 yr Author Thanks;) 5 hours ago, MAB said: Do all the parts exist to change him to a black cockatoo? I think almost all except croissant and minifigure's collar.

January 9, 20196 yr The shaping of feathers using more standard-fare slopes is really well done, its quite realistic. Then I look around the eyes and beak and see the incredible parts usage and technique to achieve the same effect, and its really mindblowing. The anchor in particular took me a good while to recognize. Fantastic
January 9, 20196 yr Author Many thanks! 10 hours ago, MAB said: If you mean this part, it does come in black. Oh, thanks for the info, so only the croissant is missing;). 3 hours ago, Goldenmasamune said: Any more birds in your future? Not in the nearest future, but maybe... In fact I don't really want to make similar things multiple times and have a bunch of other ideas for MOCs.)
