Hi all!

Let me introduce my new MOC: Sulphur-crested cockatoo.

The sulphur-crested cockatoo (Cacatua galerita) is a relatively large white cockatoo found in wooded habitats in Australia, and New Guinea and some of the islands of Indonesia. They can be locally very numerous, leading to them sometimes being considered pests. A highly intelligent bird, they are well known in aviculture, although they can be demanding pets.

Comments are welcome.

Have a nice day! :classic:

You can check my other MOCs on my flickr or instagram.

Those eyes are amazing! Excellent use of the minifig ruff to make the eyelids. Everything else around the head is lovely, too. Great work.

edit: Is the iris a Clikit?

If I walked into a room, and this was sitting on the table, I'd think this was the real deal! The head especially is wonderfully textured, and that beak is almost surreal.

Amazing! The clever usage of parts is out of this world! The entire bird itself looks really adorable!

Yes, a real beauty. Do all the parts exist to change him to a black cockatoo?

Thanks;)

I think almost all except croissant and minifigure's collar.

If you mean this part, it does come in black.

There is something about that eye. No matter which view you look at, he always seems to be looking at you.

The shaping of feathers using more standard-fare slopes is really well done, its quite realistic. Then I look around the eyes and beak and see the incredible parts usage and technique to achieve the same effect, and its really mindblowing. The anchor in particular took me a good while to recognize. Fantastic

Oh, thanks for the info, so only the croissant is missing;).

Any more birds in your future?

Not in the nearest future, but maybe... In fact I don't really want to make similar things multiple times and have a bunch of other ideas for MOCs.)

This is really cool! The eye pieces are used cleverly.

Good afternoon. How can I buy MOC instructions for sulphur crested cockatoo made by you?

Thanks in advance.
