Ross Fisher Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 (edited) Krue's Diary - 29/12 3281 LY Location: In transit to Nar Shaddaa Well, it's over. To think, I got into this life because I thought that we could make a better future. I thought Red Key was supposed to be about tearing down governments, helping people to be truly independent. The Rebellion was happy to take advantage of us at first. But that quickly got awkward when they wanted to become "The New Republic". Of course, they shut us out the moment Mon Mothma kissed goodbye to those Endor fluffballs. And then that nutjob Lorgan decided he'd set himself up on Tatooine. Why you would want to that, I've no idea. I hate sand. So I got the heck out of dodge. Took the last of the creds he owed me and got the first ship out of there. The bad news is that this ship was heading straight for the Smuggler's Moon. So here I am. It's been fifteen years since I last saw home, and I have very little to show for it. No career (beyond slicing networks); no relationship that last longer than a month; no fame; no fortune. Despite all the things I shouted at my parents, I haven't made the galaxy a better place. And now I'm in the bowels of a refugee ship, watching womp rats fight for scraps in the filth. It sure *feels* like rock bottom... I don't know. I guess, I need a game plan. Stop farting around with ideals. Start thinking about #1 for a change. The Hutt Clan are the major players on Nar Shadaa, but Black Sun have more opportunities. They care less about who you are, and they have major operations across the galaxy. If I want to get in and get on, they are my best bet. Krue's Diary - 10/1 3282 LY Location: Nar Shadaa upper levels There's not much in the way of natural beauty in this place. The Hutts paved Nar Shadaa centuries ago. But if you think of the Smuggler's Moon as nothing but a city of nightlife and crime, you've not seen the best it has to offer. You need to come up to the upper levels just before evening. This far up, among the air scrubbers and docking bays, there are no permanent residents. But it is by far the best place to come to watch the sunset. It's a longer trek than most would care to take, but I couldn't come back to my homeworld without seeing it. All the particulates in the air here make this one of the most glorious sunsets in the universe. It seems almost paradoxical, that this planet, of all places, should earn such a marvellous spectacle every day. So it only seems apt that most people wouldn't even make the effort to come and see it. What a world... Edited January 18, 2019 by Ross Fisher Quote
MKJoshA Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 Lovely intro! I'm excited to see where your character's story goes. Quote
Basiliscus Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Really well written story here! Certainly a nice way to introduce your character. The first image is well done and I love that both are 100% LEGO shots. Quote
Ross Fisher Posted January 12, 2019 Author Posted January 12, 2019 @MKJoshA @Basiliscus Thanks guys! I'm trying to do a lot more forced perspectives in this series. Fingers crossed we do a lot more. Quote
Darth Bjorn Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 I really like the vibrancy in your colors - almost feels like a retro comic. Good job. Quote
Ross Fisher Posted January 13, 2019 Author Posted January 13, 2019 @Darth Bjorn Thanks! I like that idea. Going to keep doing stuff in this style. Any inspiration would be appreciated. Quote
mccoyed Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 Nice presentations in these pics. I also think Krue has tons of personality and the epistolary storytelling style is a great idea. Keep it up! Quote
Ross Fisher Posted January 14, 2019 Author Posted January 14, 2019 @mccoyed Thanks. At the moment I only have time for small builds, but these are a lot of fun. Quote
Ross Fisher Posted January 18, 2019 Author Posted January 18, 2019 Krue's Diary - 18/1 3282 LY It was stupid. I should never have gone. I just figured, since I was here, I should stop in at the old homestead. The place is buried deep. Like most people living on Nar Shadaa, my family could never afford a sky view. So they hunkered down between the roots of the hab-stacks. They were just happy to own somewhere of their own. Growing up, it seemed like a miserable existence to trade for a lifetime of hard work. No wonder I left as soon as I could. And now? Now it's a fragging spice den full of low-lifes. No sign of the folks. Not sure I really wanted to see them, anyway. I guess it would be good to know whether they're alive or not. I'm more mad about the kung getting high in my old room. Ugh, nothing I can do about it now. The heavy at the door made sure I didn't stick around long. After a quick tour of the neighbourhood, I left. Couldn't tell whether the whole place had gone to poodoo or whether it had always been like that and I was just seeing it without the chrome-plated googles of childhood. Can't wait to get off this rock. Anything I cared about when I lived here is gone. Quote
Merc4Hire Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 Excellent character indeed and great Nar Shadaa build, the saturated colors captures that casino planet feel very nicely. Quote
JoeChu1980 Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 the way you displayed a planet out of window, that's good reference. Quote
