Posted April 16, 200816 yr I went into my local Lego Store yesterday (April 15) to see if Star Justice and Space Skulls were out, and the guy working there looked in a magazine (Brickmaster, something like that) where there was a little article on the sets. The release date stated in the magazine was April 16. He said in that case, the store wouldn't have the sets until Monday, but if I wanted, as soon as the sets were available on Lego.com, I could come into the store and pay for them and the sets would be shipped to my house FREE OF CHARGE! I didn't know that was a possibility; I wonder if that's true for any set on the Lego Shop @ Home site that the Lego Store does not have in stock. I've pretty much decided to wait until Monday to see if I can just buy them in the store and, if not, I'll order them there. But I went to the Lego site today and there's no sign of these sets being available. I wonder if they got pushed back? That wouldn't make sense, as some Lego Stores got them in weeks ago. Of course, mine didn't. :-/

Of course, mine didn't. :-/ Well when I went to a LEGO store to get the Falcon they didn't have any in stock yet, so they did the same thing for me...placed an order and had it shipped to my house for free. I don't have to tell you, free shipping on the Falcon was quite a deal. I think that's probably their SOP for stuff that's in good stock in their warehouses (from where I'm assuming S@H and the LEGO stores as well as US retailers get their stuff) but they just don't have in-store that day. Just another reason I love the LEGO retail stores
April 16, 200816 yr Relating to your observation. The last week or so on the LDD Factory gallery there's been a message about updated brick pallete for LDD. Well today the message changed from 'coming soon' to 'updated' but when I go into LDD, I'm not seeing any updated bricks yet. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? I thought LDD autoupdates itself.... Or maybe they're behind schedule with this stuff?
April 16, 200816 yr I don't know if they're supposed to be out today, but along the lines of free shipping, it is a great way to get out of paying huge prices for shipping (especially with the U.S.'s economy and gas prices [shipping is going through the roof!]) Didn't pay a cent shipping on my Eiffel Tower! I haven't heard any news of the release date of these sets, though. Maybe they'll be released later tonight?
April 16, 200816 yr http://factory.lego.com/space/default.aspx The Space section of the Factory website is live today, but I have been informed that due to technical difficulties (for which I have no information) the sets and LDD parts won't be available until sometime next week. Sorry.
April 16, 200816 yr Regarding The LEGO Store and shipping: Yes, it is their policy that if they do not have a set in stock AND it is available on LEGO Shop @ Home, you can pay for it at the store and they will place the order for you with FREE shipping. The only inconvenient part of this is that (at least at my local store) they won't give you the stamps until you bring in the packing slip. Presumably, that is to keep people from ordering a bunch of stuff and getting the stamps then going home and cancelling the order. I've had them ship stuff to me a few times and it worked out well. Just have to remember to take the receipt and packing slip back in the next time to get your stamps.
April 16, 200816 yr We'll I can see them anyway. I think I'm the only one happy about the price funnily enough, with everyone chatting about how darn expensive they were I was expecting 150 dollars and now I see they're 130, which in my opinion is fairly decent enough. I think I'll try desperately to get both. I'll probably fail, but I'm getting one atleast. Batbrick Away!
April 16, 200816 yr Author $130? I thought they were $99 each. And cool animated site! The picture of Chris is funny. :D He's like, "Yeah, I'm the mac daddy." Edited April 16, 200816 yr by KDog
April 16, 200816 yr I believe Batbrick was quoting the price in Australian dollars. $130? I thought they were $99 each. And cool animated site! The picture of Chris is funny. :D He's like, "Yeah, I'm the mac daddy."
April 16, 200816 yr Several times in the past, my local Lego store didn't have the sets that I want; the Lego employees were kind enough to 'place the order' for me thru the store and shipping is free. So I guess this is a company policy to keep customers (especially adults) happy by getting free shipping.
April 16, 200816 yr I believe Batbrick was quoting the price in Australian dollars. Yes, sorry about the confusion I really must get one of these... Batbrick Away!

Yay! Australians get a good price again. $AUD130 is hard to resist. 99 euros - not so much.

'Cause the one in Orlando stamped me right up after I ordered the Falcon. That, added to everything else I bought that day filled up like, 3 cards in one shot
April 17, 200816 yr Apparently our sets are now available on S@H, at least in the US. http://shop.lego.com/Product/?p=10191 http://shop.lego.com/Product/?p=10192 Do those of you in other countries see them as available too?

Cool! Thanks for the update! Out of curiosity, will the sticker sheets be available seperately?

Sorry. Thanks for that information. The star justice set has started to grow on me and is available now for Aussies at the very reasonable price of $130 AU.
April 17, 200816 yr Author Wait, so you actually still pay for the shipping; you just get reimbursed in actual postage stamps? That's strange.
April 17, 200816 yr Wait, so you actually still pay for the shipping; you just get reimbursed in actual postage stamps? That's strange. No, no, no The LEGO retail stores have a customer loyalty/rewards program where every $20 you spend you get a stamp on a card. Fill up the card with 20 stamps and you get a $20 gift card.

April 17, 200816 yr $149.99 Canadian each, available now, it says. Too rich for my blood, going to grab 'em from someone south of the border.
April 17, 200816 yr $149.99 Canadian each, available now, it says.Too rich for my blood, going to grab 'em from someone south of the border. that's crazy, that's about $160 Australian, mind you, we have to pay at elast $30 for postage for even the smallest order from Lego shop at home, so they get us that way.

Sorry. In a way this is a good thing. We can compare the bricks in PaB (new pallet) versus the ones in LDD (old pallet) and while its obvious that many new bricks will arrive, some of the old ones are going to dissapear. Theres a few that I'll miss, so now before LDD updates is a great time to make 'part pack' LDD models of those dissapearing bricks and order them last minute. Notably, Im going to miss: 2*2 double sloped corner roof brick in White(Rare color for this brick) 1*4*1 SNOT brick with 4 knobs in Blue or White Airplane side windows in White, or in the 4stud long version. (probably the most important one thats dissapearing) Any other suggestions for stuff to grab last minute?
