JimBee Posted September 4, 2008 Author Posted September 4, 2008 (edited) "Arrrghhh!" cried MacK. "Shoot it!" And so they did. The Wampa was dead rather than deadly in less than 20 seconds, thanks to the combined fire power of the whole group. The party was sneaking through the tunnel for several minutes before they came to an exit. Butcher peeked out of the big mouth of the cave, and saw that the battle was raging on. "It looks like the CIS are winning..." said Butcher sadly. "We're going to need to get down there". "The CIS have a lot of troops and vehicles" he informed the group. [Poor clone...] he thought. [The front line is nearly gone...] he thought. "Well, we better get moving, c'mon, this dark cave is easy for more Wampas to live in and sneak up on us". "Hold on, guys, I just want to check this out..." said Adam. "There's a little passage way over this way". "No! Wait!" cried the commander. But it was too late... What a cliffhanger! By the way, the cave pics are supposed to be dark, I wanted to give it that dark and scary look. Edited September 4, 2008 by JimButcher
Adam Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 He had seen it- the first prototype. That was it. If he could only get to it- but before he could go get it, it happened. Prototype? I wonder....
Oky Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 (edited) Still wearing his pilot helmet with the tinted visor, Adam had not seen the hole in the ground of the passageway that he was heading into. He fell into it and slid down to the bottom. It wasn't very deep, but deep enough to make it impossible for Adam to climb out. "Hold on," said Oky Wan, "I'll help you out!" He lied down on his stomach and stretched out his arm to grab Adam's hand. He was able to get a hold on Adam, but as he was pulling him up, the ice under his chest broke, and so he slid down the hole as well and landed right next to Adam. "Great!" said Jim. "Now we have to pull you both out." "No" objected Oky Wan "Don't, or you'll get stuck down here too! Just go on without us. We'll be alright. When you get to the outpost, you can send help." Jim didn't like the idea of leaving the two members of his team down there, but he saw reason in what Oky Wan said. "Alright," he finally said. "But hurry", shouted Adam, "I don't think my life support system will be able to keep my wounds patched much longer!" "Don't worry" said Jim, and he and the other exited the cave, leaving their friends in cold darkness... It was moments later that Oky Wan realized that he had a jetpack. Duh! Btw, why did the word "Game" disapear from the topic title? Did a mod do it? Also, who else thinks that this thread should be included in the "Important Topics" section of this forum? Adam Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 (edited) "Wait!" Oky Wan shouted, but it was too late- the others were already out of earshot. Adam sighed. "HOW can you forget that you have a jetpack?!" He asked Oky Wan in an exasperated tone. He blushed at this, and said, "It was an honest mistake! Grab on, and I'll get us out of here." Adam held on to Oky Wan as he started up the engine. In a few seconds, they zoomed out of the ditch- and into the cieling. The two landed back in the ditch with a painful thud. "Do you even know how to fly one of these?" Adam grunted. Oky Wan blushed again. "Well-no." Before Adam could intergect, Oky Wan said, "But I'm learning! Let me try again." This time, they made it out of the hole, but barely. Oky Wan started to walk in the direction of the others, but Adam stopped him. "I thought I saw..." Adam looked down the corridor, yet it was a dead end- no prototype. "Nevermind." With that, the two continued out of the tunnel. Sorry about using you in my post, Oky Wan, but I PMed you and I got no response. Edited September 7, 2008 by Adam

Oky Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 (edited) Oky Wan and Adam were moving toward the exit of the cave. "Quite a mess out there" said Oky Wan, looking at the battle raging outside. "We'll have to be careful and..." "Arrgh!" Oky Wan turned around and saw that Adam had collapsed, holding his arm. Blood was starting to rinse out from under his cloths at various points. Apparently, his life support system got destroyed during their crash with the ceiling, and his wounds were now starting to reopen. "Dammit!" said Oky Wan, "We have to get you to a medic immediately!" Oky Wan thought feverishly how they could get to the outpost that fast. "Maybe," he thought, "maybe if I turn up my jetpack to maximum..." It was the only chance they had. Carefully, he lifted Adam up and carried him outside in his arms. There, he tinkered with the controls of his jetpack a bit and activated it. Fortunately, the jetpack was able to carry them both, and so Oky Wan flew them over the battle and toward the Republic outpost. They had past the battlefront and were almost there, when suddenly a Republic turret below them got hit by an enemy missile and exploded. One of the debris that were flung through the air hit Oky Wan on the head, and he started to loose conscious. They plummeted toward the ground and landed in a pile of snow. The last thing Oky Wan was able to realize was a clone running up to them, screaming "Medic, Medic!" all the way. The voices faded, and Oky Wan passed out... The next thing he knew was that he woke up in a Bacta tank. Adam and Garviel Loken were floating in other tanks next to him. A medical droid, Jim, MacK, and Thok were looking at him from the outside. Well, there you go. Now we are all reunited and healed and ready for action! We are also ready for some explanations from Adam - I was getting the feeling that everytime he posted, we were about to find out something interesting, but then the object of interest disappeared or got blown up. So, you better give us some answers in your next post, Adam! @ JimButcher: Yes, it would be good if you would change that rule about posting speech for other players. And while you are at it, you could try to solve the mystery of the lost "Game" word in the title of this thread. It would also be good if you would not make dark pictures that dark; in the two that you posted, one can barely see anything. Edited September 9, 2008 by Oky Wan Kenobi

KimT Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 Yeah, I messed up your title by accident. Sorry about that. I hope I got it right this time
Adam Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 Oky Wan waited in the tank while the medical droids regarded multiple computers. He looked around, and noticed that he was in the back of an AT-AT, one rather larger than the standard size. Could this have come from the back up? From what Oky Wan could see, this vehicle seemed far too large to have come with Rex and the others. What was going on? It was then that Oky Wan was released from the Bacta tank, as well as Loken and Adam. A few minutes later, Oky Wan rounded on Jim. "What happened? How did we get here?" Jim thought before replying. "After you crashed, we managed to fight off the CIS, but only with the help of something Rex happened apon while helping Easy 101." "This huge AT-AT," Oky Wan said. Thok nodded. "You see, another explosion had apparently opened up a crevice in the ground, revealing it. It was far from the main battle, so the CIS didn't notice. What's curious is the fact that the technology outdates our own." Loken made a double take. "You think that the time machine..." MacK nodded nervously. "It was still in relative working order, and from what the technicians were able to accomplish, it was soon walking. They were about to return to the main conflict when this side battle, which was closer, got in the back up unit's way. We're on our way to the battle as we speak." The constant buzz of machinery that had been throbbing all throughout the conversation ended, and the group looked to Adam. His life support unit had been repaired and enhanced, and he was free to talk now. This was good, because the others had a lot of questoins. Jim started the flow. "Why did you want to go down the other corridor? What were you doing here? Commander Rex says that you're not part of his unit. What's with your life support mechanism?" Adam held up a hand. "Let me start from the beggining. All I'm currently allowed to expose to you is that... I work... for the Republic. I'm afraid all other information is classified." At the others' groan, Adam went on. "However, I can inform you of my mission. I told you that I was captured by the CIS while conducting some tests- that is only partially true. I LET the CIS capture me, so that I could learn more about my subject. You know of the time machine project, so I don't need to fill you in on that. However, here is something you probably don't know- a little over a year ago, a cosmic disturbance was noted above Hoth. The Republic knew of a CIS plant there, and that was when the time machine suspicions began to form. This was hushed up, known only by the highest of highest Republic commanding officers. All data of the event was destroyed, and only one document remains- as you probably know, I cannot tell you it's location. Small teams were sent on to Hoth, but to no avail. This cosmic event would have been regarded as a myth, had it not been for one thing, reffered to as the "prototype". An archeologist that was conducting tests on the density of Hoth's ice compared to other ices happened apon a tunnel in a mountain. Inside it was a strange... mutant, a small creature that had strong legs and a dome shaped head. The head looked like a mushroom, so the archeologist named it, "muttanti sienten"- "muttanti" for, obviously, "mutant", and "sienten" for "mushroom". He was able to obtain data of it before it tunneled deep into the mountain. An avalanche then forced our archeologist to run away, and it's position was lost. That is what I thought I saw- however, it seems that it had tunneled away. Back to my mission- I was trying to find out how this mutant was created, whether improvments had been made, and what it's purpose was. Up to this point, I know this: First, that a serum derived from a mushroom has altered human DNA to create the mutant. Second, that the mutant was improved- it now is extremely sturdy, larger than before, and boasts a giant horn. Third, that this thing has appeared all around the galaxy- I've seen many images, most blurred. Fourth, that these things were created for an army, in addition to the droids." With that, the others were stunned to silence. "So," Loken said, " The CIS want to make an army in addition to the droids? Because they think that the droids wont be enough?" Adam nodded. Jim was about to ask something else when an alarm went off. From a radio came the words, "We have a situation! Beings of unknown origins are approaching the vehicle- and there are a lot of them!" A visual came on the screens around the group. Adam's heart jumped- they were the latest mutants. Whew! Hope that answered a lot.
Oky Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 Hm... interesting. I still don't understand what those weird mushroom mutants have to do with the cosmic event and the time machine project, but something tells me I'm not supposed to yet. I do have a hunch, though. I don't think the CIS made them just because they wanted an addition to the droid army... Even though humans and mushrooms is an odd combination for making mutants/hybrids, I like the idea of the CIS making mutation experiments. It reminds me of the Battle of Nelvaan. I am also confused about something else: Since when are there more than one battles on Hoth and which one is already won? Which one are we heading into? And most importantly, where is wouwie13 aka. Easy 501? Is he with us now? And why is everyone (or is it only Adam?) calling his battalion Easy 101? Just some things I'd like to be clear about before I post.

Just some things I'd like to be clear about before I post. About the Easy 101 thing, I call it that 'cause I like to do things my way. No, it's just because I made a mistake. We haven't won the battle yet- the AT-AT picked us up on a side course. Easy 501 is still defending, and we haven't reached them yet. We are, however, with Rex. We're heading into the same battle, BTW; since we're getting close to the battle, the mutants have switched route to come our way. The mushroom things have everything to do with the time machine project, and the AT-AT came from the cosmic event. The cosmic event was the first test of the time machine. I won't tell you how the mushroom monsters interact with the time machine, though. Not yet. The mushroom idea actually comes from a concept I have called, "Mushroom Men". In it, these are the, "Savage Shrooms". I'm going to make some MOCs of it.
JimBee Posted September 10, 2008 Author Posted September 10, 2008 Useful post, ON! (I hope...) The AT-At was huge. It was something Butcher never encountered before. It looked like the Turbo Tank model, but with legs instead of wheels. Why would they do that? he thought. One thing was for sure: he was not getting into that thing. The commander solely preferred his own two feet over any vehicle, even his own starfighter. Besides, the thing was way to slow, and it would be vulnerable to interior explosions. "Alright, let's go. The plan is simple: get to Easy 501 and his troops, and destroy everything in your path. Oh, and don't die." "Wait! We can't just barge through, we'll all get killed!" insisted Oky Wan. "Not if I can help it" replied Butcher. "Besides, this is something they won't expect". This guy is crazy thought Oky Wan with distaste. Butcher saw the look in Kenobi's eyes. "Trust me, this will work. Now, let's move. MacK, do you still have that signal?" "Yeah, they're right across the battle field, pinned down in a cave", he replied. "Good. Everyone, stay under the walker." The team headed out from the small bunker. Their were about three hundred battle droids advancing on 501. Butcher and the team were attacking from behind, so they had a chance of surprising the CIS. They got about three quarters of the way to the droids before they were noticed. "Uhh, Jim, they've spotted us!" said MacK. But there was no response. "Butcher...?" He couldn't have gotten shot already, and his body was nowhere in sight. "Guys, where's Butcher?!" MacK yelled. No one knew. We're dead! he thought. The group started firing randomly at any battle droid in sight. The AT-AT was providing some help, but it was still hopeless. The droids were closing in. In less than a minute, they would all be dead. Then it happened. First it started with a close by MTT, then a whole column of vehicles and battle droids. They all suddenly went up in flames, and left a path for the group to proceed. So Butcher did have a plan Oky Wan thought. How he did it and where he was would be answered once they got out of this frozen warzone and into the base. Whew, that took a while! KimT, thanks for changing the title, and please don't worry about accidentally changing it!

We were right between the battlefront and the outpost when we landed in the snow (and therefore pretty close), and since Jim and the others had a head start, they should have been somewhere around there by that time as well. When I wrote the part with the bacta tanks, I assumed that the clone who found us dragged us inside the outpost, where Jim and the others would soon show up as well, and that we would meet wouwie13 right after we get out of the tanks, but... oh well. Just one question: how the heck are we supposed to have the element of surprise with a giant, stomping AT-AT above us? Man, this game doesn't make any sense any more. Oh well. The battle we encountered (where we crashed) was a side battle, not the main one. Sorry, that's how I interpeted it- I didn't think the full CIS attack would be a couple of Spider Droids. Also, we were taken to the base, and offered to go in the AT-AT, but Jim didn't want to. Sorry, I'll edit the post. (BTW, can you PM me your thoughts? That way, I could incorporate them if they are similar to my storyboard.)

Well, usually this game's "storyboard" is based on reactions on other players' posts, but fine. BTW, the hailfire and spider droids were just supposed to be a sample of the one big battle that Jim provided, not a small, separate battle. With there being a wide, droid and mutant free path in front of them, the crew stormed toward the outpost. Their armor protected them against the fire that the mutants didn't dare to penetrate. The droids, however, were not bothered by the fire either, so they started closing in again. The pathway got narrower by the second, but the team able to make it through in time. While a few clones from behind friendly lines shot at the droids that were chasing them, our group of heroes ran toward the entrance of the outpost as fast as they could. They finally reached it and got inside. There, they were immediately greeted by a desperate looking clone in shock trooper armor. "Rex!" he shouted in relief. "Thank the Force! You made it! And you got other help too! We are saved!" There was no doubt that this was the infamous coward Easy 501. But where was Jim? Edited September 10, 2008 by Oky Wan Kenobi
Wouwie Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 ''Well, let me introduce myself, I'm the CO of 501st Easy Company, nicknamed Wouwie. But, I tought you were with more persons?'' ''I think we lost Jim guys...'' Oky said.''Oh by the way, I'm Oky Wan.'' ''Danmit, did anyone see him getting shot or something like that?!'' Adam asked. ''I didn't saw something like that, but let's not hope he is, Adam.'' Oky said. ''Wait a minute! You're Adam! What that thing yoou told about on the radio?'' ''Euhm....It blew up with my ship...'' ''Does anyone have a plan to get out of here with Jim?!'' Wouwie asked
Adam Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 ''Euhm....It blew up with my ship...'' I am such a n00b! Adam left Wouwie's last question unanswered when the thunk of a giant metal foot landed outside the base. The AT-AT had finally caught up, and while Easy 501 looked around confused, the others gave knowing smiles. "I have an idea on how we're gonna get out of here," Adam laughed. "But about how to find Jim, I don't know. He'd probably oppose the idea of getting back to whatever you guys," Adam gestured to Oky Wan, MacK, Loken, and Thok, "arrived in on the AT-AT. I figure that the best thing we can do is scan the area for humaniod life forms-" MacK intergected with, "But the battle isn't over! Jim could be out there dying! And just to save our sorry butts!" Adam rolled his eyes and said, "Well, if you had let me finish my question, I could have told you the rest of the plan! I was going to suggest that Oky Wan and Loken go in the AT-AT while Thok, Rex, MacK an I fight off the droids-" Wouwie mumbled, "I'll... hold the base, perhaps..." "- and search for Jim. Everyone OK with that?" Seriously, everyone OK with that?
Oky Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 (edited) Well... idk. I was going to wait for Jim to post something again before making crucial decisions because I think he wanted to meet us at the base, but seeing as he isn't around at the moment, I don't want to hold up the story. "Actually," said Oky Wan, "I would like to stay here and see if I can help repair or improve some of the defenses. This way one of us would be here in case Jim shows up. So, could someone else accompany Loken on the AT-AT?" In that moment, they could hear someone outside falling into the snow, landing hard. They stepped outside the base to investigate. I am such a n00b! Well, as you said: everyone's gotta look like a n00b sometimes. Edited September 10, 2008 by Oky Wan Kenobi
JimBee Posted September 10, 2008 Author Posted September 10, 2008 Well, usually this game's "storyboard" is based on reactions on other players' posts, but fine. BTW, the hailfire and spider droids were just supposed to be a sample of the one big battle that Jim provided, not a small, separate battle. Exactly. Jim miscalculated his landing by a little bit. He meant to land right in front of the base doors, but instead ended up on top of it. Unfortunately, the "snow" was actually just a thin layer covering solid ice. He landed heavily on it, and screamed in pain. He had gotten shot, right in a weak spot between his leg and thigh armor, and was bleeding. He turned off the jetpack, and rolled off of the roof of the base. He landed facedown in the snow a few yards in front of a group of figures. Oh, not more droids... he dreaded. "It's the Commander!" he heard someone say. "Quick, get him inside!" said another voice. "Get everyone inside. Admiral, order all remaining troops to fall-back into the base, and get the injured into medic capsules and bring them inside" said yet another. "Yes, sir". Butcher looked up slowly and mumbled something. Two familiar faces were looking at him with concern. "Is he hurt?" "I don't know..." Jim was losing consciousness. The stray laser bolt hit him in the hip by chance, and he might have broken a few bones landing on the ice. "Aaaaagghhh!" he cried suddenly. "Hip... shot... help me up..." Thok and MacK took his arms and lifted him up. "Can you walk?" Thok asked. "Yeah" "Alright, let's get inside". *** It was about an hour after the previous events. Butcher just got out of the bacta tank, and now he was mostly back to health. He walked with a slight limp. "Better?" asked Oky Wan. "Yeah..." "What happened?" Oky asked. "And make it quick, we have to get out of here" added someone who Butcher didn't know. "I'm Wouwie, by the way. The droids and mutants are blowing the whole place up." "Do you have escape tunnels?" Jim asked. "Yes, but there are only a few left. The rest are caved in." "How about transport?" "One Gunship. That's all." He didn't mention the AT-AT, but Jim didn't care much for that. "Alright, let's go". "Wait! When are you going to tell us what happened?" asked Oky Wan "Please, not now, I'll tell you when we're in the air. It won't be long before they collapse this whole place. Or discover the ship." Jim answered "Alright..." Oky Wan said reluctantly. They started running through the narrow tunnels that provided an escape route for the team and the remaining reinforcements, which weren't much. About 50 troops, mechanics, and other military personnel remained. Several times, they had to change directions because of the sudden cave-in's. After reaching the Republic Gunship, they flew off. It was a very narrow escape; the group watched as the base crumbled mere minutes after they took off. "Okay, now tell us what happened" insisted Oky Wan. "Alright, here it goes. I simply used a jetpack and a cloaking device to fly overhead and drop small mines all over the droids and mutants. They wouldn't expect an aerial attack. Unfortunately, a stray bullet hit me as I was about to land" Butcher answered. "Why didn't you tell us?" Adam asked. "You guys would have never went with it" he said simply. "Now, let's get to MacK's ship". Oky Wan sighed. Always on the move he thought. "Then what?" asked Thok. "Then Adam has some more explaining to do, classified or not. I am part of the RSS (Republic Secret Service), so I should know.
Wouwie Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 ''Euhm...Maybe it's a better idea to rearm and refitt at Rex's ship? And maybe get some backup for our next adventure's?'' IMO that's a good idea

Adam Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 (edited) I've been out the loop for a few days and i have no idea whats happening, can someone explain to me please? so far Oky has rescued Adam, there's an AT-AT for some reason and Jim mysteriously disappeared then came back and now everyone's on a gunship The group found me on Hoth, and I explained a bit about a serum and the time machine. Then, we saved Easy 501, hopped in a Gunship, and are heading towards MacK's frigate. The AT-AT is from the future. That was the "cosmic disturbance" I mentioned earlier. Jim immediately shut down Wouwie's suggestion. "Pfft! Getting backup?! No time for backup!" So the group set off to MacK's frigate, and once on board, a conversation began. "I'm agent 2734, or Adam, for the RSS's DCU (Deception and Commando Unit). No, I am not a clone; each agent is given a tag number, and that's mine. In short, we believe that the CIS is creating a mutant army because the mutant's DNA structure is the only living tissue that can pass through the time machine. Since the humanoid members of the CIS officials wish to lead the attack, the serum was necissary. The "cosmic disturbance" was the appearence of the large AT-AT. When it came from is unkown. I was sent to Hoth to do more research, and had myself captured by the CIS. We know that the time machine is working, and the CIS is almost ready to send some people through. The operation is lead by General Grevious. This, added to what I told you before, is all we know. After reporting to my officals earlier, they ordered that I assist your mission in locating the time machine and stopping the CIS from ever using it." How's that? Everyone OK with it?
