I would say the same thing - simply to cover up. Sounds rather cheap to me. I believe it is the >original< idea, the appearance, the look and feel that makes all the LEGO "Idea".

The have a sh*t load of pieces and colors to ignore what they want. But there is the original Idea. Shared with so many folks.

The Saturn V still rocks. As the lander does.

I salute the original designers, as they had the Idea - all the "ignoring talk" is "re-engineering". No more - no less.

That was no ding on the original Saturn V MOC, it just sounded like the designers had to deal with the various internal constraints Lego places on sets. The sort of stuff that AFOL builds never have to contemplate.
