Hello, I've recently installed LDD (v 4.3.12) and added he latest parts following the guide.
I'm however experiencing quite some issues with many common parts showing missing icons and invisible models and much more (common ones even) outright missing (like 11458 to name one).
Any idea what could cause this?

You need LDD v 4.3.11 I believe.  Twelve is buggy.

If you are using Windows I highly recommend using the latest perfect method to install LDD, as detailed in my earlier post linked below. Basically, “LDD Version 4.3.11” is the correct Windows version to install but it includes the now permanent Flash Player Glitch. “LDD Version 4.3.12” was released to remove the Flash Player Glitch, but it has multiple issues such as the outdated Brick version. This new method combines the installers for both “LDD Version 4.3.11” and “LDD Version 4.3.12” to achieve a perfect installation. Hope it helps.

Custom LDD update 240504 has been released for Patrons!

Find more information here on Eurobricks, or on the CustomLDDUpdates.com dedicated blog post.

The update contains: 49 new parts, 49 new colors, 9 updated original parts, 10 updated custom parts, and 106 pre-colored/pre-decorated parts including 2 complete sets of stickers.

Just installed the latest LDD Update and the latest “240504.lxf” can be opened fully without any issues at all so many thanks for the latest efforts. I did go through the Colour Files and noticed two issues. First, in the “Materials.xml” the order of Colours is currently 141, 143, 142, 144 so entry 142 is misplaced. Second, I checked the German version of the “localizedStrings.loc” file and made further improvements, 16 existing entries were updated and 18 of the newly added entries were improved. The improvements aim to achieve the following: all Dunkel=Dark, Helles=Light, Klares=Bright, fix translation errors and certain words not translated. Also, the English version of the “localizedStrings.loc” file had the Hyphen of “Material188 Tiny-Blue” restored.

It is highly recommended that everyone download the latest LDD Colour Files from this link and manually replace the relevant files supplied with the latest LDD Update on May 4, once checked these new files should also be incorporated into the latest or next LDD update release ASAP. I have included a Change Log within the ZIP Folder in the link which explains everything in detail, comparing the original and updated German Colour Names will clearly show why this was necessary.

P.S., an updated version of the PDF Guide regarding LDD Decoration Sizes should be available by the end of this week once I finish studying the new UV Mappings supplied with the latest LDD Update and add them to the Document. Thanks.

Hey guys.  So, for some reason I've been having trouble trying to download any updates from dropbox.  I end up with a rar file that when unzipped doesn't really contain anything at all or it's just outright corrupted.  I've been getting things from Github because that actually works for me, but parts are always missing from there, regardless of whether I'm looking in development, pre release, or master.  I check them all.

Nevermind.  I was using an outdated version of Winrar that just couldn't handle it.  Downloaded 7zip and problem solved.  Why didn't I try this ages ago?  Please ignore.

Just went through the latest LDD Update and noticed that the new UV Mapping of Part 3023 seems to have not been applied as the existing Decorations are now distorted and the relevant files are not found within the “20240504.rar” file, until these files are made available I won’t be able to update the relevant entry within the PDF Guide regarding LDD Decoration Sizes (currently the only missing information before the latest version can be published) or update my two Custom Decorations. Please check for other issues within Pages 106 and 107 of this topic too (e.g., Colour file improvements), thanks.

Can the 77765 pin be redefined, so it can be inserted into a beam part way - simillar to an axle? It can smoothly slide in and out of the holes at any length from start to finish.

Yes, this has actually been done already! It can now slide in 10 intervals through a Technic hole.

Guys, I need your help, I am struggling to create decoration surfaces for 64682 and 64392. When I create a decoration surface, it results in a strange outline artifact on the surface. Anyone who can help with that? I've been messing with it for a couple of days now (well, almost a week now...)

Did you by any chance have time to check the issues posted earlier? Most are found on Pages 106 and 107 of this topic: Part 3023 missing updated files for the new UV Mapping, the updated Colour files which I posted above on May 6, Decoration 73784 still a 1:2 Image instead of the latest format and Brick issues (27925, 63864 and 2431, 65734) posted on Page 106. Thank you for all efforts so far.

Hello: I give a try to the parts and I think it can be of use, hope it is. Here is the rar file. I don't know if the extension .lpp is still active, if not tell me and I fix it with another one.

Is there any chance of making it possible to connect minifigure legs with compatible 2x2 or greater bricks in a future update? I know I submitted an incomplete list of bricks with the right kind of bottom connectors a while back.

Also, would it be possible to extend the connectable area of the minifigure neck peg to better support the use of multiple (non-overlapping) neck accessories on the same minifig?

Also also, I made two more remade classic pirate/castle faces. I believe they're from the same set as the remade goatee face. I'm not totally sure the one on the left is accurate, but it's as close as I was able to get with the reference photos I had.

I have seen the posts, but have not yet implemented the improvements.

Good question. At this moment the answer is maybe. IF the connection types don't interfere with each other it should be possible. The other thing is that all compatible parts need to have the collision boxes improved in order to "open" to underside of the bricks. When I encounter collision problems, I update the part anyway, so this should not be an issue.

Also: maybe. Different connection widths could possibly be implemented, though these would interfere with each other when stacking accessories... At some point I will look into this.

Whoops, I meant 2x1, but you probably guessed that.

Thanks for the reply, I’d say add back the missing files for Part 3023 first as these were promised in the latest LDD Update and all existing Decorations have already been updated according to the new UV Mapping, still can’t find the relevant “.xml” and “.g” files in the latest individual “20240504.rar” file (unless they have been released elsewhere then I will go check) the rest are minor issues so can definitely wait until another update.

Btw I've noticed that https://img.bricklink.com/ItemImage/PN/86/32828.png doesn't like going into technic pins. It doesn't go all the way into https://img.bricklink.com/ItemImage/PN/7/4274.png even with collisions off. And it won't even attempt to connect to pins like https://img.bricklink.com/ItemImage/PN/11/6628.png.

Having connection points with technic pins would be nice to have since it's a legal connection IRL (Save for the 3L pins. Mainly the shorter friction based ones)

@Stephan

Part 3384 collision issue. It should be able to be placed on pieces with studs at at the corner.

Part 3387 collision issue. Wheel does not fit in under mudguard part.

Nope, this is due to a collision defined in these connection types. At this moment this can't be fixed since it would require programming internal collisions and at this moment there is no one able to do this.

Weird since other bars are fine but fair.

Yeah, it due to the tiny-sized hole in the part. The connection that supports the standard diameter pin and has the small hole connection, interferes with the connection of the inside of pins.

I tried this, but when I create the part files I still need to calculate outlines and then the artefact comes back:

Can you share the xml and g files?
