Nick1 Posted September 19, 2020 Posted September 19, 2020 (edited) I've open your newest lxf file with the parts and when I generate instructions it didn't work and the ldd just closed by itself. Not sure if you have the problem @Stephan Thanks Edited September 19, 2020 by Nick1 Quote

Anything I could do about it? Thanks ? Building instructions do not work with extracted db.lif. This is not related to the new parts. I assume the building instructions functions has a lookup for db.lif hardcoded and is unaware of db folder. Quote
Nick1 Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 (edited) I've tried again. Well for now I tried to use the following part in the following color together in the same ldd file but it didn't work. The parts are 39367- Medium Azure rubber tire with black rim and black rubber tire with white rim 39794 - black. 39793 - black 39790- medium azure. When I put all of these together (as individual pieces lying around or build together with other non new parts) and tried to generate instructions , ldd will just closed by itself. However when I only have one of it, generating instruction isn't an issue. For now these parts exist in those color and for now I only need to use this few pieces. Thanks Edited September 20, 2020 by Nick1 Quote

Just some issues with the line generation on some I noticed, and be careful with your XML files... 2997 and 2998 for example, have an illegal character in them (perhaps only used in your country?) so LDD doesn't open them. See here in 2998, the funny characters after 'RIM 81.6' and between '85, W.' <Annotation designname="RIM ؠ81.6 x 34 ZR" /> <Annotation maingroupid="366" /> <Annotation maingroupname="TYRES AND RIMS FOR/TO SNAP ش,85 W. CROSS" /> Quote
Kuramapika1 Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 @zweifuss thank you!! The illegal characters are unintentional; maybe it generated when I create the file since I copy the name and then paste it in the text box. It happen with the phi character. Quote

Zerobricks Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 Good job @Kuramapika1 One bug I noticed though. 5292 motor's back side has a slightly too large collsion box, you can't put bricks next to it. For now I just deleted collisions in my 42908.xml file. Quote

One thing I notice 6272 (Electric RC Race Buggy Reciever) gets removed when you restart LDD. And 6642 still has one clip on the wrong side. I am working on outlines for the rest of the parts that didn't have them, and after that I'll send you some improvement notes. Quote
Kuramapika1 Posted October 3, 2020 Posted October 3, 2020 @Stephan thank for the info. Part 6272 I can do little to nothing but I'll try to correct it anyway. For part 6642 (and the other flex system connectors)... Well, I am making improvements on them since I'm creating the flex cables (and made it flexible) so I recommend to leave it as is. I mentioned the flex cables: wath numbers do you recommend to use since there are a lot of them? Because the official numbers are alphanumerics. Quote
Stephan Posted October 3, 2020 Posted October 3, 2020 2 hours ago, Kuramapika1 said: Part 6272 I can do little to nothing but I'll try to correct it anyway Maybe a subpart is having collision problems, which is causing it to collide with itself? 2 hours ago, Kuramapika1 said: I mentioned the flex cables: wath numbers do you recommend to use since there are a lot of them? Peeron uses 342 as the number. So I think: 342 + 0 + length to be sure that the number will not be used by another part. So, a 15L parts, will be 342015. Quote

Here a quick step-by-step guide: Requirements: LIF-Extractor from JrMasterModelBuilder https://github.com/JrMasterModelBuilder/LIF-Extractor 1) Go to Folder /Users/myusername/Library/Application\ Support/LEGO\ Company/LEGO\ Digital\ Designer/ 2) Extract the db.lif using JrMasterModelBuilders LIFExtractor.py python script by using Terminal python LIFExtractor.py /Users/myusername/Library/Application\ Support/LEGO\ Company/LEGO\ Digital\ Designer/\db.lif This will create a db subfolder containing the extracted contents of db.lif After that rename the file db.lif to somethinglike db_backup.lif 3) Get the new parts from this topic: 4) Extract the parts packs (i.e. Primitives.rar) 5) Add and replace the files (not the folders) in the db folder and its subfolders with the files from the parts packs. For example in the parts pack there is a "Primitives" folder, copy all files from there to the ..../db/Primitives folder. Same with the "Primitives/LOD0" folder and so on.
