Governor Mister Phes Posted April 20, 2020 Governor Posted April 20, 2020 Thank you, @Piraten. So the submission is an Imperial Fort and Inn/Tavern. And did the LEGO Ideas Team provide a reason as to why your submission was rejected? Quote

And did the LEGO Ideas Team provide a reason as to why your submission was rejected? They gave the same reason that @lomis got. But I changed the story to POTC. On Lego ideas they still let in POTC. And since 1st April, there are 12 new pirate related ideas. And its an outpost Caswell Point. Quote

And that reason being: Quote Unfortunately, we’ve had to return your submission, Soldiers Fortress, to you for further revisions in order to comply with the Product Idea Guidelines, Contest Rules or Activity Rules. We could not approve your submission for the following reason: Unfortunately, your submission requests the release of a model or concept that overlaps with a concept or licensed property (IP) on which a LEGO Ideas set (Pirates of Barracuda Bay) has already been produced. Since LEGO Ideas has already produced a set on this concept or property, we have decided not to approve this similar submission as a LEGO Ideas Product Idea. Our Project Guidelines and House Rules state that once we release a licensed product or concept through LEGO Ideas, we won’t accept any more submissions based on that license/concept. You can read more about which licensed properties or concepts LEGO Ideas has already produced official LEGO Ideas sets on. Ok, it looks like that's point 1. Are there any more points? Quote

But I can re-submit. They also wrote this in the email. If possible, you can still fix the issue with your submission and re-enter it. Unfortunately, if you re-enter it without fixing what we've asked, we won't be able to approve it. In some cases, we unfortunately, can't allow you to re-enter your submission as we know we wouldn't be able to accept it even with changes. But they don't tell what changes you need to make. Quote

We need to get to the bottom of this. Understandable they don't want to release another shipwreck island in the future, but there is a serious issue if they intend to reject all pirate submissions and submissions related to the pirate theme. It would be very unfortunate if the LEGO Ideas Team have decided they will not develop future pirate related concepts until further notice. Quote
Brickander Brickumnus Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 @Piraten and @lomis, both had their submitted Imperial buildings rejected. Perhaps LEGO is planning to release some Pirate sets from the Imperials side in the end of 2020 or in 2021? Quote

But its strange that the 12 new mocs on ideas at the moment was approved. I will reach out to one of my contacts at Lego. Maybe she can help us with some answers. ZedKay Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 https://legoideas.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/356076-license-conflicts-and-resolutions Looking at the website above ^ it says they've updated the rules on the 17th of April, and it's not just Pirate Bay anymore but Pirate Ship concept as well. I think that means no ships will be allowed unless it's anything related to POTC, and the ships currently in the supporting stage won't be accepted if they get the 10k support ? Quote

This really is Lego's chance to give us a proper imperial wave. Not gonna talk to much here cause this isn't the right form but Lego doesn't have the excuse anymore for only doing 1 ship and that being a pirate ship Quote

Brickander Brickumnus Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 (edited) "Pirates of the Barracuda Bay" must be selling like crazy! So instead of paying 1% of sales to possible future successful Pirates fan designers... just change the LEGO Ideas rules of submission, do not approve any set, even if it hits 10K votes and it's really good... and problem solved. Pity for all the fan designers who have submitted and want to submit Pirates Theme projects. Edited April 20, 2020 by Brickander Brickumnus Quote
