Yep just a few mins ago LDD started giving me errors while checking the price on a model I was working on.

I restarted it and found it immediatly downloaded the new Bricks for Star Justice and Space Skulls.

Cool new parts. :classic:

I am finding though, that Most of my old MOCs won't upload anymore, since some of the old bricks have been removed from the new pallete. :sadnew:

If I carefully search thru them and delete offending bricks, they upload again. But it would have Really Been Nice, if LDD could mark them or autoremove them for me.

Its very tedious to figure out just which tiny brick in a model is the 'bad' one...

N/m, protip: to figure out which brick is bad, drag-delete half your model and see if the update button activates, ifnot then undo and try drag-deleting the other half, etc. keep deleting by sections till you find the specific brick then undo to put back the good ones.

Okay, I played with it for 5mins and see another big problem.

The new Sticker Sheets.

From talking with the Ambassadors we know that when using a brick that has a sticker pattern, you'll end up recieving a whole sticker sheet with your model.

Fine

Issue though, based on the way the Check Price is acting, Each and Every stickered piece you add to the model, counts as a whole new Sticker Sheet, even if a single sheet would contain the sticker for both parts at the same time.

Ambassador Comment Please?

OMG! :oh: I just realized they removed the FEMALE minifig head in the update!

...well, at least we get spacemen, ...lonely lonely spaceMen...

If you click the box icon in the brick palette, you'll see an option entitled "Old Factory." Click it to revert to the previous brick palette. (By the way, you can also click the circular arrow icon to allow all bricks in the palette, including the 2007 Creator sets, the MINDSTORMS NXT set, and for the first time in LDD, the 8272 Snowmobile! *oh2*:thumbup: )

As for the stickers, you could try using only one stickered part in the model you wish to order, then you can build a second model with all the stickered parts you want to refer to when you put on the stickers.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Tho all my MOCs are meant for purchase, so Ill just go thru em and edit out old bricks.

Another Troubleing question for Ambassador?

Is this a mistake? a black 1*1*1 cone costs .37cents, while the transblue/yellow/green/etc ones cost .10cents??

I know transparent plastic often costs more, but here the situation seems drastically reversed.

This just has to be a mistake in the pricing.

(I hope, since I sure do love using those black cones as attitude thrusters) (maybe a conspiracy against me....)

Thats strange, when I go to PaB to verify these prices... black doesnt seem to be among the various colored cones at all...

Definetly a conspiracy.

I´m sooooo saaaaaaad!

So wonderful new parts, but so many wonderful old parts gone forever :cry_sad:

Just when I thought I could finally buy my Mobile Recovery Vehicle (some might remember), it cannot be purchased anymore, because so many essential parts aren´t available.

Tonight I´m crying myself into sleep.

strange all of my starjusticeand spaceskull parts when added say i cant buy the model? whats up with that?

i have found alot of problems you cant put the big blaster on to minifigs lego really didnt do very well i must say

Actually your MRV didnt fare so badly, all the parts removed are only color choices basically. Trade some gray for black and you'd be all set.

Plus now you can add in some nicer control panels and minifig armaments (and minifigs).

Oh, and I really love what you did for the side window using grilles and technic pins to make tiny holes.

P.S. that vehicle is very very expensive... want any help optimizing the construction?

Yeah, ist most the color choices. But the 2x4 slope wedges at the front side aren´t available anymore, not even in different colors.

And that the 2x3 slopes in dark grey have been removed is a HUGE disadvantage. Those pieces really were neccessary.

I already tried to optimize the construction, but any further help is more than welcome for sure! Any particular idea what can easily be optimized? Just to give me an idea what I missed

Damn beat me to it i found out this morning it was a nice suprise at first i thought (since i just installed the latest update yesterday) o great it stuffed up because of my insufficiant card or somthing then i saw the new space minifigs! :cry_happy: and also police torso and construction and viking torsos + yellow cups :cry_happy: and afew other things

I find it funny that they called this piece the "see plant".

Plus ow I have to spend an hour or more to update some of my older models (7740 remake and Italian restaurant, in particular).:hmpf:

I have one MOC I'm working on in LDD, and now the garbage can is gone. Wonder why as it's something which would be useful in many places. Good thing I already have one, as it means much for the character of the MOC.

Occurs to me that this 30602.png piece is no longer in LDD in smoke color. The white color it uses now is nice... though I can forsee lack of a transparent version causing havok with all the sub-minifig scale cars and spaceships that are so common in the galleries at the moment.

Be interesting to see how the kiddies deal with it; maybe removal was random? or maybe someone's trying to encourage more thoughtful MOCs in minifig scale?

Hmm, maybe that's why when I was looking through the Factory gallery yesterday, most of the sets were unavailable. Why would Lego do that? Don't they know they're messing everyone up?

Thanks for the suggestion.

You're welcome, and here's another tip: When you revert to the old palette, the unavailable bricks will have have a white background rather than a green one. Hopefully that will help to detect problematic bricks.

Amazing Discovery I just made!

I think the new LDD is now back to using a 'brick bag' system behind the scenes.

Try this Experiment:

make a new LDD project, and add a single black 2*2 turntable.

3680c01.png

Check the price (make a note) of it .19USD

now add another black turntable and check price, total=.38USD

fine, makes sense .19*2=.38

but now! change the color of one of those turntables to be white and check price! .27USD :oh3:

what about the cost of a single white one? .19

two white ones? .38

a black and white? .27

2black and 2 white= .54

3black and 1 white= .65

1black and 3 white?=.43 !!!!!what???? 4 turntables for nearly the same cost as two black/black, white/white

There is only one explanation for this bizzare behaviour for different combos of bricks.

LDD is using presorted brick bags behind the scenes when it comes to pricing the bricks.

Theres some kind of penalty fee for having to break open a new bag, on top of the individual brick price.

If I had to guess, these correspond to the brick bags in the actual StarJustice SpaceSkulls sets, but I can't confirm since i havent seen either in person...

What you guys think of my theory?

Ambassador?

And just think of the rammifications this has for optimizing the price of your MOCs..... darn, someone needs to catalog the 'brick bags' that are hidden behind the scenes so we can know how to keep prices down.

Still not convinced

Try this:

put down 2 white turntables, check price: .38

add a black one to them, so now you have 2white and 1black , price=.35 !!

you just got more bricks for less!

Clearly there are... ideosyncrasies... in the pricing calculator that it's to our benefit to understand.

As much evidence as you present, I really am going to keep hoping that they have not returned to this system. I'd just guess that it's just the bugs that they have from such a new thing, judging by the other problems people seem to have been experiencing. I really hope they are not back to bags...

Good discovery though, i'll have to play around with it soon...

Looks like TLC noticed this post and 'fixed' the cheaper price bug.

Their solution seems to be... checking price on these combos of bricks gives an error in LDD

and any uploaded models that contain these combos have 'server errors' thus you can't buy em.

Basically, now in LDD All turntables in a model must be the same color. No mixed white and black ones within the same model.

:hmpf_bad: Dumb solution if you ask me, since while rare, it might potentially mess someone's design plans up...

I'm guessing, they couldnt leave a bug relating to prices lying around, but also couldn't do a full update on LDD itself, hence they put a fix on server side that just rejects that brick combo. Only reason I noticed and made the connection is cause one of my models consistently had price check errors and I removed one brick at a time till it stopped...

But I can potentially see a kid becoming frustrated if one of their creations falls into this situation.

Not good

Well, I guess its good to know they are listening, even if their solution kinda sucks....

HEY TLC, fix the pneumatic T connector piece, the center arm doesnt like to connect in the same way the ends do. Clip vs Hole, try it.
