I also ike the idea of separate sets. I think a Leaky Cauldron would also make a good addition. As well as being the “entrance” for Diagon Alley. It would also gives us a chance to get the Monster Magical Creatures book from the third film.

A Hogsmede Train Station would be great since you’d be able to “connect” it using track pieces to Platfrom 9 3/4. It would be a good way of linking the sets together.

Very true, I forgot about the Leaky Cauldron but that be a very nice set. It could have a neat function with the brick entrance. And you’re right about Hogsmeade station, although it may best to include it in a set that focuses on a more prominent setting since I doubt very many casual fans of either Lego or HP will buy just a Hogsmeade station set (even though most of us on here probably would).

So these are my thoughts for the next wave:

  • I'm thinking we might get Privet Drive with say Tonks, Kingsley, Harry, rather than Grimmauld Place. That way people can can combine it with the Ford Anglia from the whomping willow set to create Book 2's escape and Lego seems to be trying to make sets and places that can be interchanged. Grimmauld Place meanwhile is fun, but I would guess would probably be more of a candidate for a DH wave.
  • A section of the castle complete with Umbridge's office, Room of Requirement (with vanishing cabinet), astronomy tower etc. Umbridge, Ginny, Luna, Neville, Harry, Ron, Hermione, Cho and Dumbledore are good candidates for minifigures here I think.
  • Ministry of Magic, complete with prophecy, the archway etc. Maybe Lucius Malfoy, Death Eater, Harry, Sirius.
  • The Burrow - Molly Weasley, Arthur Weasley, Harry, Ginny (pajamas), Bellatrix and Greyback.
  • Presuming a Diagon Alley D2C hasn't been released by this time, a section of Diagon alley / Knockturn Alley with the Weasley's joke shop and Borgin and Burkes including the vanishing cabinet. Fred, George, Draco, Harry as figures.
  • By the time this wave comes out, the FB carriage set will probably be retired so I'm thinking the Thestral mould will make another appearance, maybe with Umbridge, Harry, Ron, Hermione.
  • The cave scene from HBP with Harry, Dumbledore, inferi.

All just guesses of course and trying to think how Lego have currently done sets that mix and match and spread figures across waves to cover different movies.

I have to disagree on this. Grimmauld place is far more iconically connected to the 5th movie/book, it’s featured in far more scenes in that movie than Deathly Hallows part one - and by extension, shows more details of the main rooms (DH1 doesn’t really show the Black family tapestry, which is one of the parts of the building I’m most interested in). Also, a DH1 Grimmauld place wouldn’t be able to include Sirius, and I can’t imagine anyone at Lego being eager to try and market Sirius’ house without him included - not to mention that it could also include new characters like Tonks, Kingsley and Kreacher (and perhaps an update for Mrs. Weasley).

On the other hand - a DH1 based Privet Drive has all the same potential for new minifigures as an OotP one, Tonks and Kingsley are there after all, as well as several others that didn’t appear in OotP, like Hagrid, Ron, Hermione and several Death Eaters. My ideal line up for a DH Privet Drive would be Tonks and polyjuice!Ron (on brooms), Kingsley and polyjuice!Hermione (with a thestral), Hagrid and Harry (with a new motorcycle and sidecar), and a couple of Death Eaters.

I’d also prefer a DH1 Burrow, because I think it would be more interesting to get a wedding rather than an exact remake of the 2010 set (which I personally believe has held up better than any of the other sets from the final waves), but that’s another story.

I think Bill would be included in a DH Privet Drive to, as his non-wedding outfit doesn't really fit in anywhere besides this scene and the BoH itself

They could do Shell Cottage potentially. They probably won’t but they could.

Yeah, I’d love a Shell Cottage set, but the only thing it really has going for it right now is that I can’t think of many middle sized sets for the DH movies (bigs sets yes, and a few little ones, but medium sized ones in the $30-50 range not so much). The thing about the theoretical DH sets is that the minifigure line ups tend to rack up quickly because you need Death Eaters to fight your protagonists in the battles, so Shell Cottage has the size advantage of not being a battle.

I think they could make a medium sized Ministry break in set if they did it right. For Shell Cottage, I imagine a set up very similar to this year’s Hagrid’s Hut. For about the same price they could have a bigger build and more minifigs without the added budget of a new creature mold and a light brick.

True, but I don’t think the DH wave is going to have problems with the $60-80 price range that Hagrid’s Hut falls into. There’s the potential for Privet Drive and Burrow sets, as well as the Rookery, Malfoy Manor and the Gringott’s Dragon Escape. Things on the scale of this wave’s First Task or Knight Bus sets though? Harder to think of.

And they could also just give us random Hogwarts sets in any price range. Just give us some new rooms we haven't gotten yet with some DE and students, maybe 2 or 3 well known characters and you have a set!

Yeah, you could easily make a whole wave of the battle of Hogwarts alone. (Personally, I hope they keep it to one or two sets, with just one being the $100 or more price point. The final battle is important, but there are so many other great events from DH that I’d love to see made into Lego.)

And we don't really want to have tons of Hogwarts sections littered with battle damage features instead of proper rooms etc

Yeah, one big section or two medium sized sections would work to give us a battle area. The aqueduct courtyard and grand staircase have some pretty significant scene if I recall (plus the great hall of course), but the big thing is getting all the characters you need. You’ve obviously got the Trio, Neville, Luna, Ginny, Fred and George, Arthur, Molly, Tonks, Lupin, Kingsley, McGonnagal, Alberforth, several other Hogwarts professors and students, Voldemort, Bellatrix, the three Malfoys, Greyback, the Carrows and a whole host of other Death Eaters and dementors. Honestly, if there’s any event that needs a minifigure pack or two added on to flesh it out it’s the final battle.

Some of those characters could come in other sets as exclusives though, and that way Lego has the added selling point of “in order to make a proper battle you need to buy these other sets that include certain characters”.

I agree. If we get a BoH set the Carrows, Narcissa Malfoy, Lupin, Neville are likely. Maybe the trio but the other I really don't see in such a set. They would rather give us some unexpected figures like the Grey Lady. The other main characters will be in other set. Probably a lot of them already next year.

True enough. Neville, the trio in the outfits from those scenes, and Voldemort are all pretty crucial, but there’s plenty of wiggle room for the rest. But now that I’ve made myself think about it I really want a ‘Not my Daughter You B*tch’ minifigure pack with Bellatrix, Molly and Ginny.

What I want most out of the next couple waves are a lot more Death Eaters, Order members, and Weasleys (most of which are included in “Order members” but still)

Don't forget ''normal'' Hogwarts students for our Hogwarts castle!

For me those are secondary. I would rather have more main characters than other students. Ideally we’ll get both but my priority is on the main characters like main Death Eaters and Order Members. But I would love to get those in addition to other variants of students (house robes for the other three houses would be really nice).

Regarding the students, one thing I really hope they make is this torso + legs combo but in the Slytherin colours so you could 'army' build it. A CMF Draco or Polyjuice Harry and Ron as Crabbe and Goyle would be ideal.

House robes (like Harry and Hermione's mostly, but Ron and Dean's styles would work well too), house jumpers and Quidditch robes would be great. Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff have already had their most famous students appear in the CMS, but could hopefully be repeated. There are loads of Slytherins to include though!

can anyone supply a link where it shows you every detailed section of Hogwarts castle? e.g. name of all the buildings

thanks in advance

I really hope so too. Here are my thoughts:

Draco uses Dean robe style (Wand and ???)

Crabbe uses Harry robe style (Wand, Harry's Hair and Cake piece)

Goyle uses Ron robe style (Wand, Ron's Hair and Cake piece)

Young Tom Riddle uses Hermione robe style (Wand and Slughorn's Hourglass)

Yeah that’s true. They could include it as a side build and all it would have to be would be the platform and the arch entrance. There’s lots of things to be done with Hogsmede. The Shrieking Shack, Honeydukes, The Three Broomsticks. Maybe even the Hog’s Head were Aberforth lives since that becomes and important part in the last film.

Pansy Parkinson and Blaise Zabini are two I’d like to see. There are also those Slytherin twins who are in the Slug Clug I wouldn’t mind seeing.
