suffocation Posted April 29, 2019 Posted April 29, 2019 (edited) This is a simple off-road tow truck I built during the past month or so, recycling old ideas of mine and shamelessly pilfering other builders'. RC features: - 6x6 drive (2 XL motors) - front-wheel steering (servo motor) - locking central and rear diffs (2 M motors) Motorised features (1 L motor, 9 2-way switches): - tow arm adjustment - tow fork adjustment - rear spade outriggers - side outriggers - front winch - crane rotation - crane arm adjustment - crane arm extension - dual crane winch Other features: - live axle suspension - positive caster - Ackermann - fake 6-cylinder in-line engine - opening doors & bonnet The truck looks out of proportion and unfinished in places because I got tired of it and lack the skill to make it any less hideous. I might reboot it later this year, though, so any feedback is welcome. Edited August 16, 2019 by suffocation slight changes to model; updated pics Quote

I really like those design details that you put in. The grill means business with 2x5 panels, it looks like it ready to slice and dice. Again, use of same details on the side of the crane, it's much better than what we usually see. And those old "3D" panels are much more interesting than new flat(smooth) ones. Quote
1gor Posted April 29, 2019 Posted April 29, 2019 Looks cool my friend. It is like much much improved 42070 set (in red) Few years ago I thought to make something like this but Tumblers were to expensive at that time so I decided to make Unimog. (Sorry if it is to much off-topic) Regards Quote

I don't think it needs a reboot, you did a great job with this truck. Ill put your number on speed-dial incase my lorry gets stuck or I roll it over. Quote
Lakop Posted April 29, 2019 Posted April 29, 2019 You have put some effort into this moc. I like it. It looks very heavy duty and really aggressive. You should give yourself more credit and try not to get frustrated when trying to finish a moc or anything else (its something I have had to learn in everything I do). Would love to see a video of the functions in action. H Quote
andythenorth Posted April 29, 2019 Posted April 29, 2019 I really like the top heavy, hench look. It's lolzy, in a good way. Reminds me of chibi-style Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted April 29, 2019 Posted April 29, 2019 What a huge wheels ...I see two XL Motors I can just imagine the hi-torque ratio of this guy Quote

I'm still looking for a model I can use Tumblers with - maybe some weird, cartoonish dump truck On 4/29/2019 at 8:28 PM, MxWinters said: [...] your truck looks like it could pull a planet [...] This is cathartic - thank you On 4/29/2019 at 8:30 PM, Horace T said: [...] Would love to see a video of the functions in action. Reminds me of chibi-style Ha ha, true I kept looking at it trying to figure out what didn't work and then I read your comment and realised it was the chunky head, I mean cab. I've changed it a bit now - will post new pics when I get around to shooting a video. Quote
