I am building a large ski resort with multiple fixed grip chairlifts and one detachable.  I am having problems with the fixed grip and I haven't done more than the frame on the detachable. the problems I am having with the fixed grip are simple, but I cannot figure out how to fix them. the chairs jam up a lot and the rope derails easily, both of which can damage the entire lift. on the detachable I need a small grip that can detach and reattach at the terminal, but flow easily through support and hold down sheaves. I am trying not to spend too much, but I want all of the lifts to work right. I am using power functions XL motors to power them. the detachable will be mostly technic (the frame anyway, I will use regular bricks for the outside), but the rest is made with classic bricks. My lifts with a lower capacity (one or two place chairs) work better, but I would like to have a triple and a quad, and the detachable will be a 6 seat (the first for LEGO?). Also building two manual T-bars, but nothing has gone right on those. Of the six motorized lifts, two are working, one is close, one isn't working, and two are incomplete (including the detachable).

I think a few photos here, to highlight your current design might help us all see possible solutions.

I have often thought about creating a winter, ski resort based layout - so Ill follow eagerly!
