Goodmorning all

Because it's my first post I will introduce myself.

My name is Ray, 33 years old from the Netherlands.

Since december last year I picked up my old hobby again after I bought the Mack Anthem and since then I'm more active again with building Lego again.

In this post I want to show you my Lego 8043 excavator witch I recently bought ( stock version ofcourse ) on the Kings Day market for a realy cheap price, yeah it was full of dust but after a clean-up the parts looked like new, so after all the best deal I ever made haha

Imo it's the most beautyfull technic set but it needed some improvements.

A extra 340 parts where needed to get the results you see below ( total brick count is now like 1450 or something like that )

So here it is

And combined with the Mack

Thats all, hope you guys like it

Ray improvements look nice, but I have one suggestion; it will be better to use bricksafe or flicker and post links to images here, so they can be displayed in topic

Thx I will try that

Now it is much better  I forgot to mention that linked images should be smaller than 1024p

I especially like how the complete package with the excavator, Mack and trailer looks! Masterfully done!

Welcome to Eurobricks Ray!

That is a beautiful looking 8043 and a big improvement over the original, so much so that I think I may have to start bricklinking my own. The hoses actually leading to the LAs is a nice touch.

Is the 15L beam at the back exactly parallel with the back panel? In the photo it looks to run slightly away even though the ends are both connected in system.

Like is an understatement. That’s some really excellent work you've done there. The 8043 and the Mack are both very much improved by your changes which I might have to implement on mine when I build them.

This looks amazing. How did you connect the additional mirrors to the bonnet?

Under the bonnet you can place a vertical pin where i put this in to connect the additional mirrors

Yes it is, I see it too on the photo but the backplates just moved a bit below it seems

Very nice mods! Actually, I started building the 8043 again. Also with black treads and a totally black undercarriage. I will download your lxf for inspiration. Thanks

The black boom, with the hoses, looks awesome btw. Great work.
