Forgive me a spot of speculation: if the rumor of 2573 parts without control+ is correct, what scale can we expect for this set? Should the it be standing on Unimog wheels and tires like the Defender 110 @Sheepo designed a couple of years ago (which had 3442 parts including a lot of PF)? Or are those wheels too big and will it become a smaller scale set where a lot of parts go into the detailing like the 41078 Mack truck (which has about the same part count)?

@Cumulonimbus I'd expect something in a similar scale to 42069, maybe slightly smaller, since many of those parts I predict will be tanked into bodywork

This is more likely, scale 1:10 is what I'm targeting...but everything is up to tires...remember that Land Rover Defender (like Discovery, Range Rover, Evoque...) has tires with some 750mm overall diameter, so we could calculate what will fit typical Lego scales...

for tires i would guess we will get the 62.4

Could be 1:12 scale, but tires will be different like this

19801-7-Speichen-Design-Land-Rover-19-Zo

If there will be pickup 110 version then 62.4 tires are very good choice, but I don't think there will be possible to fit in almost 2500 parts (if it will be Offroader only without trailer or some auxiliary equipment)

Ah, I know I'm usually in the city forum but seeing the title of the topic.......yeah, wasn't there a rejected 10K supported Landrover set idea on Ideas once ;)

It was, but I think it was rejected due to licensing issue and not the fact that TLC was not able to build it.

42110 has been listed on the UK Smyths website (with an image!) - RRP is £159.99 but no release date - 2573 parts.

This collectible model of the Land Rover Defender really captures the vehicle’s level of refinement with its clean, modern lines and sculpted surfaces, making it a great display piece for the home or office. Developed in partnership with Land Rover, this building toy has working steering, 4-speed sequential gearbox, All Wheel Drive with 3 differentials, independent suspension, detailed in-line 6-cylinder engine and a working winch.

Say goodbye to your retirement savings.

It is beautiful

Interesting us that Landy uses rims that were circulating when unofficial images of 42099 were spreading all over... And tires look like from 42000 set?

Looks good at first sight. A bit bulky maybe, but so might the real thing. I was not prepared for that color though, I imagine that it will make modding it without buying a second set near to impossible (but that might just be the intention). Another surprise to me is that it is the short wheelbase version, not the 110 version. As mentioned before, I would have imagined this as the B-model.

Detailed on-line 6 cylinder engine...I just hope not another Mack Anthem like engine ... Discovery has V6 engines, so I was hoping it could be used in Defender as well...

Anyone has an image of the real car?

Not without camouflage yet. It is supposed to be launched in October, so this set really is the first glimpse of the real car.

EDIT: @Ngoc Nguyen: that is an artistic rendering of a motor journal, not a picture of the final car. It misses important Defender details such as the skylight windows in the rear, the iconic angle in the roof and the squared wheel arches. The fact that the leaked images of the set has these are very good clues for the real car.

I. Do. Want. This!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope it has more functions than that white Porsche, that I hate.

Since it has sequential gearbox + winch + ... It will be more technical set that 42096

These Fenders are a welcome surprise.

Yes, now imagine those on M.A.N...that was something I was thinking about every day driving to work and home when I overtake TGS...
