KimT Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Vale Rossi ftw!!!Vale Rossi = God on 2 wheels. Imagine what he could do on 4. Which is why Schumacher said he'd quit Ferrari if they ever chose him as 2nd driver which they did think about at some point. - To replace Barrichello. Luckily they chose another Quote
Lord Of Pies Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Ach! Force India again were sooo close yet so far finishing 9th!! And the first time ever both cars had got into Q2. As for Lewis bloomin' Hamilton, I had high hopes for him at Monaco, it seemed like theo nnly circuit that his car might actually work well and then he goes and bins it in qualifying. Quote
5150 Lego Posted June 6, 2009 Author Posted June 6, 2009 Can't believe I'm saying this,... but it looks like I'm going to be cheering for Ferrari this weekend. Hopefully they can bump the old farts and the kid off the podiem. It will be interesting to se if he can keep his pace without the rain on his side. Still haven't lost hope for MCLaren. Hamilton has improved his position in every race, so there still hope. So its up to big red. Lets get back in the game guys! Quote
DB24 Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 I'll be cheering on for Webber still, it was disappointing for Hamilton to not make it into Q2 Quote
5150 Lego Posted June 7, 2009 Author Posted June 7, 2009 I'll be cheering on for Webber still, it was disappointing for Hamilton to not make it into Q2 Wouldn't mind seeing Webber up on the Podium this race. I'm just not convinced that Vettel is this "Golden boy"that everyone seems to think he is. As for Hamilton, what can he do? Its very clear that he's fighting the car every step of the way. Even the commentators have pointed out how twitchy it compared to other cars. Like i said, at least he's gained positions in every race he's had this year. So i think that says something about his driving, as well as his passion to win. Com'on McLaren and Ferrari. Show the old fart, has-been, and brat that your still a force to be reconed with! Quote
KimT Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Sure thing, not one of you mentions Renault as a contender. Alonso has put the car in the middle of the top10 grid each GP and still you guys don't acknowledge it It's really good to see that Ferrari finally has gotten their act together. McLaren is exactly where I guessed they'd be this year. I recall reading an article on how Ron Dennis focused on winning everything his last season and didn't care about this season, which is why the design on the McLaren this year just isn't good enough. The Brawn racers are running with the same engine - keep that in mind. Just as I try to forget that the RBR's are using Renault's motor as well. Nelsinho has to go and Alonso needs a little scolding for losing the racer and going sideways into a turn during the final qualify session - I am sure he would have had a better grid position if he didn't do a Picquet move Good luck to all today, except Honda Brawn and their pesky neon-yellow colours Quote

Your just blind with love KimT!! But really, i could see, and wouldn't mind seeing Alonso on the podium either. In all honesty, i don't look forward to F1 races any more. Its the same thing over and over. Brawn GP. Its getting old. Not interesting. I agree that both McLaren and Ferrari put off there 09' cars and concentrated on the remaining 08 ' championship. while there competitors concentrated on building their 09' cars. (lets also not forget, that Ross Brawn had but close to 3 yrs of development on their chassis) Quote
KimT Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 I can't wait to see how Brawn will do without Honda's money next season. A shame to see RBR mess up today, but I guess that the useless start from Barichello should even that Renault had nothing in today's GP, which really annoys me since the RBR racers are there... A shame to see how bad the McLaren racer is.. I had really hoped that Hamilton would have a chance to show that McLaren is on their way back into the game, but nope. Toyota seems to have found some pace and that's good. Also Rosberg showed some fine moves today. I hope to find a time machine and skip the rest of this season to get straight to next year. Quote
MetroiD Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 (edited) Hate em, but you have to admit: Brawn are immense. Button drives as if he has four championship titles behind his back and Brawn look like they've been around longer than Ferrari. Every single thing they do to their cars brings them closer to perfection, I don't know what these guys are doing, but they're definitely doing it right. Lewis has obviously decided to let go and start enjoying his racing instead - which is a great frame of mind. Given his terrible car and the gloomy prospects of it getting much better, I think that's the right thing to do. As long as he keeps fighting for the best position in every race, he'll just be proving that he is indeed a top driver. I do hope to see him make it to the podium at least once this season though. Great Britain all set to welcome back its long-lost prodigal son next week then, eh? Button being in the limelight instead of Lewis - now THAT will be weird ;] Edited June 8, 2009 by TheOtters Quote
5150 Lego Posted June 9, 2009 Author Posted June 9, 2009 Meh. Its all the car. I'm telling you. Put Hamiltion, Massa, Alonso, or nearly half of the grid in the same car, and they would knock close to a second off his best time. I will admit, that Brawn has the game toeghter better than any team this yr. And their doing it clean. Ross Brawn is Brilliant. Quote
DB24 Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 A shame to see RBR mess up today Are you referring to Vettel's strategy? or the general stuff up including Vettel's off road excursion? Webber did pretty well though Quote

Garanteed when you drive that that car you won't win. It is all in the combination of car and driver, backed by their mecanics and of course getting into the flow. Button thanked the team just over the finish line for the car they built him but you still need someone to drive it in the right way and that combination is what counts. And it doesn't always have to be the best driver in the best car. Quote

But Given Button's 9 year track record, i'd say its defenatly more car than driver. Its more than clear that the Brawn cars have a significantly higher advantage than any other cars out there. In the past he has never really stood out against the crowd. Heck, even by your own admittance (well i saw it myself) he admitted they built him one "monster" of a car. So its clear that given his track record it has more to do with the car than him as a driver. Quote

The list of teams for 2010. I hope they'll fix the issues so the we'll still have the last 5 with us next year. The three new teams are all expected to run under the FIA’s voluntary budget cap and all have three-year engine contracts in place with Cosworth, who will return to Formula One racing for the first time since 2006. Of the existing teams, Toro Rosso and Brawn do not have an engine supplier confirmed on the FIA’s entry list.Team US F1 is led by Formula One veterans Peter Windsor and Ken Anderson, whose US-based concern hopes to prove ‘that American technology, American drivers and the American competitive spirit can compete and win on the F1 global stage’. British-born Windsor is a former Williams team manager, while American engineer Anderson is an ex-F1 technical director. They are based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Campos Grand Prix is headed by former Formula One driver Adrian Campos, whose Spanish Campos Racing team currently compete in Formula Three, having previously enjoyed success in GP2, winning the 2008 team championship. DB24 Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 i'm supprised there is no talk about the proposed break away series, that looks like happening next year. It would be a massive shame to destroy F1 by ripping it in two, but its seems that FOTA have little choice. God i hate Bernie and that idiot Mosley.. Quote
KimT Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 F1 wont be destroyed. If the major teams break away then we'll just have a new league and I am sure that the 'old' F1 league will die pretty fast. Thus skipping Bernie and Mos Racers all the way Go go go Renault. Quote
5150 Lego Posted June 22, 2009 Author Posted June 22, 2009 I blame this whole mess squarely on the FIA. Serves them right for all the crap they've done thorugh out the yrs. enough is enough. As for the race last weekend, through my favorte driver wasn't at the top, there were defenatly some interesting battles going on. Who would have thought you would see Hamiltion battling it out for 15th place! Oh well, he was a great sport about it and had the crowds full support! Even gave them a few donuts at the end of the race!! As for Button,.... Serves him right to place 6th. Maybe this wil put himin his place and he'll be a bit more humble about were he is. Quote
DB24 Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 I agree with what you say about Button, he drove badly in a car that was capable of more than 6th. Not a bad race overall, lots of fighting all the way down the order, Hamilton was entertaining throughout the race. I dunno what he's doing with that pussycat 'dancer' though. Surely he can do better! I remember hearing something about drivers getting fined for doing donuts on the race track. Is this true? Is it f1 or am i confused? Quote
5150 Lego Posted June 23, 2009 Author Posted June 23, 2009 NOt sure. But he did recieve a scolding from Witmarsh for his little stunt since they still needed that engine/tranny for another race. BUt its not like there fighting for the championship anyways at this point. He gave the fans that have been supporting him through all this yrs troubles a little show. As for his girl,... I dunno man. I wouldn't be complaining if i were dating her. Quote
Ratshot Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 I don't watch F1, (I watch NASCAR) but I do hope that this issue gets resolved quickly. It would be bad for all you European race fans if they split. Quote
KimT Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 I remember hearing something about drivers getting fined for doing donuts on the race track. Is this true? Is it f1 or am i confused? They do get fined for pulling stunts like that. I think I've read somewhere that it's around 10.000 USD. Quote

They have also committed to the commercial arrangements for the FIA Formula One World Championship until 2012 and have agreed to renegotiate and extend this contract before the end of that period. DB24 Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 I'd just like to congratulate Webber on his maiden win!!!!! i knew he could do it, even if it has taken 8 seasons. Harsh call on the drive through in my opinion. Quote
