Klaus-Dieter Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 (edited) Thank you very much for the news! Here are my first thoughts about the new Mos Eisley Cantina: What I dislike: the price (definately hundred Euros too much) no drumset player for the band again no BANTHA!!! What I like: a lot of minifigures - and many of them are completely new, partly even random characters two additional buildings very detailed exterior as well as supposable interior dewback included again the nice "rocket pod" a new landspeeder All in all I'm really looking forward to more detailed pics and reviews soon and mainly to then finally somewhen get the set myself, too! I hope that 2021 will see Lars' Homestead with BANTHA (not as D2C, but as regular set). If so then with the sets of the past years everything would be there to create and replay all scenes from "A new Hope" on Tatooine - which would be awesome! But, has anybody heard any news about LEGO Star Wars Celebration The Bespin Duel 75294 set from Target? From what I've heard or read on Lego.com they have stopped and won't restock on their website. I haven't heard anything from Target yet. Just wondering, if anybody has heard about any more restocks for this VERY exclusive set. Thanks, everyone. I highly appreciate it. Originally meant to be a limited set for San Diego Comic Con so I imagine it is gone for good but it can't hurt to keep an eye open. Quote
Balrogofmorgoth Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 Just built the Razor Crest and it’s officially my favorite Star Wars set of this year Quote
icm Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 Does anybody here have both the Razor Crest and the 75021 Republic Gunship from 2013? I'm interested in both of them but I'm not sure that I'd find the Razor Crest an adequate substitute for the Gunship, or that getting the Gunship used would quench my interest in the Razor Crest. I can't afford both, and I certainly can't afford the UCS Gunship whenever it comes along, so I'd love to hear what someone who has both has to say about the strengths and weaknesses of each set. Follow up question - is the Bespin Duel available on Target.com. I know it’s a RedCard exclusive, I’m waiting for the card I signed up for to arrive and hoping it gets here before the sets sell out on Target (as they have on LEGO.com). Also, question about the Cantina. The date is rumored to be 9/16. Is that the earliest I’ll be able to order it online, or will it be available to order earlier so that it can arrive on the 16th. Amazon allowed me to order the Razorcrest so it arrived on the releas date, but I. Know they operate differently than LEGO. thanks in advance Quote

The Razor Crest is no substitute for the gunship, it’s not even close. The Crest has a fair bit of space but the gunship has more. The gunship is bigger, more interesting build, much more play value. My only complaint for the Crest is that it can be hard for my adult sized hands to fit underneath, the gunship is too big to have that issue. The only reason you would want to get the Razor Crest over the gunship IMO is for Baby Yoda, who will no doubt be appearing in more sets in the future. I have to say though, if you can afford the 2013 gunship now you will be able to afford the UCS set when it gets released. The gunship has appreciated a lot in the last few years. If you’re in the market for a gunship I would hold off. Quote

I was under the impression it had sold out there already, but it has been popping up again for a few minutes at a time on LEGO.com once or twice a day, so anything is possible. The Cantina is a D2C which means it should only be available on LEGO.com and in LEGO stores for the first 3 months of its availability. After that it should be available online at most major retailers like amazon, target, etc. Unless something changes, it should be available for LEGO VIP members in the middle of this month, and then for all LEGO customers at the beginning of next month. You can sign up to be a VIP for free in lego’s website. I don’t know of or expect any preorder to be available, but that would likely be announced when the set is officially revealed. Quote
icm Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 (edited) ^^ Thanks for your reply. Just to be clear, I'd be looking for a cheap eBay copy of the Gunship with or without figures at as close to RRP as possible. I can't afford a complete set with figures, much less a sealed copy, at Bricklink or eBay prices. That kind of a deal is rare for the Gunship, but not unheard of. Just to add to what some others have said, if you specifically want the "playset" version (ie minifigure scale), there's not a 100% guarantee that the UCS version will be as such. The model that we do have is pretty much already minifigure scale, and that was a $120-150 price point, so a lot of people (myself included) have been guessing that, if they follow the trend of other UCS ships and make it $200-250, they can't really scale it up without making it a larger-than-minifigure-scale model, similar to the A-Wing or Snowspeeder. So if you do want one compatible with figures, that might be your best bet anyway. Quote

Yeah, I haven’t been checking LEGO.com recently. With you saying it appears on the website again. Now, I gotta keep checking out for that. For now, I don’t think Target has it in stock at the moment. From what I’m hoping is that it isn’t a one time thing on Target.com. It is a Redcard exclusive for how long? Who knows! Quote
FeepoGerbin Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 So question for @jdubbs - you've mentioned the info you're seen so far. Is there info going around between leakers of the specific contents of the sets for the next waves (eras, or even vehicles & figures), or just price & part numbers? If that's not something you want to answer all good, I'm just curious Quote

But I also think they should make some new ewok variations soon. There are various Rebels (e.g. Dodonna, Red Leader) and Imperials (e.g. Motti, Tagge) are missing, as well as Aunt Beru. There are varients like Lando (Han's clothes), Leia (jumpsuit) and Luke (recover robes) as well as force ghosts who are missing too. Aside from aliens there are also the CZ droids and R4 series astromechs missing, as well as astromech and protocol droid variants. Quote

Baby Yoda will be one of them for sure, unless it will be easily available. Many unique characters have appeared more or less equal over time in smaller sets, that make them a better target for my children. But I don't know what I could do with Baby Yoda, because it's the hot spot of the Razor set and my children have it in their radar... Well if you have the extra money you think you can part with in your lego budget, why not. I think it can also be smart in a way that when prices goes up for some of these figures, which they do for many of the "only released ones" figures which in the end of the day, will be the case for most side characters. I didn't have the heart or probable was not economically enough in a tight stop to part with my Ahsoka this spring, but if I had two of her, why not. 4 minutes ago, Seaber said: There are various Rebels (e.g. Dodonna, Red Leader) and Imperials (e.g. Motti, Tagge) are missing, as well as Aunt Beru. It can be difficult dealing with paypal & their timing requirements, especially for pre-orders and refunds. I work in payments, I have PP contacts and when this happened to me a while back I fixed it. It was quite a simple error that wasn’t difficult to address and completely unnecessary. No one should have to do this again going forward. A real pain for anyone to have to call in and auth again. Especially if you have an AMEX as LEGO don’t accept and PP do. My razor crests arrived the other day without issue having pre auth’d with PP a very long time ago. Edited September 5, 2020 by N8thanAshley2 Quote

Redroe Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 Based on the colour of the clothes of the figure talking to Devaronian Guy I am fairly confident it's a Saurin despite several leaks listing him as Elris Helrot who wears entirely black? Quote

It's 100% a Saurin. Even in the blurry photo, you can see where the muzzle of the (most likely) reused trandoshan head mold overlaps the right shoulder. So I finally got the new Vader figure. Im impressed at how complete the pauldron printing is. I don't believe that every fig needs over the top arm printing, but the quality here gives me hope for Clones and mandos, These characters tend to have quite the colorful arm accessories, and the detail on Vader shows me that lego can get that print all the way up the shoulder now, Most prints I'm used to from TLG always left some space of the base color. EV9D9... that would be an instant buy. So.... correct me if I'm wrong... but there are only actually 3 new molds in the set, Devaronian Garindan and Ponda Baba? Ithorian exists, Saurin is recoloured Bossk (definitely based on latest fuzzy pic), Kabe is Manbat, Bith and Greedo surely won't be changed. Oh, Muftak. What could have been. Quote

The lists included 1H 2021 prices and generic descriptions ("Hero Vehicle", etc.). Sets were generally not identified by movie/show/era/etc., with one or two exceptions. The two versions of the list that crossed my plate were similar but disagreed on some things. I can't speak for all those other guys and what more they have (or haven't) learned since then, and I'm not at liberty to say what more I personally know about those sets, except that I am (so far) underwhelmed.
