efferman Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 Could be entertainer something like a fairground mixer Rig? Quote

I expect this Btw I still can't wrap my head around that flagship that has half the piece count of 42099. It could be a nice wheeled alternative of 42065/42095 to offer a base set of Powered Up parts, but how that will become a flagship is still a mystery... Quote
Vectormatic Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 I would absolutely love a bosozoku car :P as long as it doesnt get the funny-car treatment Quote
konryd Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 I like how we already get (a form of) confirmation that 2020 2H will include an "Ultimate" with a specific number. I don't recall this specific news a full year before the launch. Quote
JackBloomer5 Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 For me, with the exception of the “ultimate”, what the coming sets are don’t matter. As long as we get panels in a straight-up standard blue, like a 42042 blue. For the “ultimate” I hope it is a licensed racecar rather than a luxury road car. I would like it to be an IndyCar, NASCAR, Formula 1, or LMP1/DPI. These are my thoughts and I just hope we get new parts as well because they always are fun to figure out of to use. Quote

Akbalder Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 Race cars need a lot of stickers. That doesn't fit the ultimate lineup. Quote

I agree and if the do it right majority of the livery could be done with panels and lift arms and then the individual logos could be small stickers rather than like the 42096 being plastered with giant stickers. Plus, who says you have to put on the stickers? I bought the 42077 and never put the stickers on and it still looked great. I don’t like stickers are a huge deal and as long as there isn’t a color issue like the 42096. Quote

I disagree with 42077 looking great :P Granted though, especially lego's unlicensed technic sets tend to look pretty good without stickers, i never applied stickers on my 42000, 42039, 42077, 42039 etc... Generally only the licensed sets get stickers with me As for the next UCS car being VAG, it kind of stands to reason, given the fact that both the GT3RS and Chiron are from that group, but I dont really know what other UCS type car the group has to offer, AFAIK there are no FIA-WEC hypercar programs to come from the VAG group, so that leaves Audi and Lamborghini. I cant see the R8 being flashy enough for that treatment, so that leaves Lambo, and the aventador is getting old... Maybe the next V12 lambo? Quote

But then, I have a sense that it's gonna be somewhat unusual. When the info about 42094 Tracked Loader was out, no one thought it would end up being a weird futuristic electric-run log grapple loader with unworkable claws, triangular tracks, rotating cabin, and a two-speed winch gearbox. It's like 42094 has the features that most real life Tracked Loaders don't, and don't have what most real life Tracked Loaders do. I suspect the same will be with this upcoming Mobile Crane. I have a feeling it will be smaller version of last year's flagship... 4 hours ago, vectormatic said: As for the next UCS car being VAG, it kind of stands to reason, given the fact that both the GT3RS and Chiron are from that group, but I dont really know what other UCS type car the group has to offer, AFAIK there are no FIA-WEC hypercar programs to come from the VAG group, so that leaves Audi and Lamborghini. allanp Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 As much as I really don't want another fast car for the 3rd "UCS" set (like seriously, isn't it going to get pretty boring having a fast car every two years? Why not do a heavy duty Ram pickup or something, broaden the horizons!) for an Aventador in gun metal grey or maybe white I'd make an exception! Quote

Honestly I do not care if TLC brings new car as long as (IMHO) interesting machinery is offering...usually I buy sets for parts since I have very limited space so I do not want to give myself headaches...for this year (2019) I had no special expectations, but with 42099 I'm pleasantly surprised... A Ram 3500 with daulies would be awesome and could offer a lot in terms of functions rather than just “fast” as you were saying. I think that would be a great way to go for UCS. Imagine if they gave us the Kong’s Ranch Red and Gold F-150 in 1:8 scale. Quote
syclone Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 (edited) As long as the car doesn't bring yet another new color and has flexaxles it'd be good. As far as I'm concerned a supercar will always sell better than a duty vehicle as a shelf model. Pickup trucks aren't very special and supercars have a huge wow effect - unusual designs, doors usually open in non-standard ways (butterfly, gullwing or even dihedrical). Judging by Speed Champions lineup it might most certainly be a Mclaren - these are on the more affordable range. I'd love a Ferrari though - would be a level up after Racers-Technic sets. As long as the RC car isn't too expensive due to the license (why?) it will finally be something new, not another HUGE set. Edited July 18, 2019 by syclone Quote
allanp Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 (edited) Wow factor much?! Now picture if you will, chrome front bumper and grill and new chrome wheels, same diameter as the unimog wheels but much narrower (to be more like real wheels), and have a very deep positive offset allowing two to be pinned together directly for the rear wheels. Also has new stronger diffs and a new 24 tooth planetary outer gear that can be braked using a servo motor. Several of those stacked together combined with a control+ hub and you have a motorised monster with the first official automatic gearbox. Would also have 4 wheel drive with options for high range, low range, two wheel drive and diff locking, beefy suspension, live axes and drop link steering. Still want another UCS supercar? I just think that this is where a line of sets aimed at adults (and adult wallets!) could really excel beyond what we've seen before. But now I fear I am going into wishlist territory.....just a bit! kbalage Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 @allanp I would LOVE to see a Dodge RAM, it's a shame the chances are so low.. Quote
syclone Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 (edited) @allanp Chrome not happening 1000000000% Just look at the Harley Davidson. LBG only Technically speaking such a set would be exciting, but looking where UCS sets are aimed - shelves - and the latest itineration of an offroad vehicle - 42099 - that Dodge RAM isn't likely at all. Same as me asking for a JDM car like a 180sx or r34. Who doesn't love a 2jz flamethrowing Mk IV Supra? Sure enough it would sell, but a supercar can sell just by name - no matter the model. allanp Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 (edited) Silver would be an OK substitute for chrome, which tends to peel over time. But yeah, I know a Ram is very unlikely but I wanted to give an example of how the next UCS car doesn't always have to be a supercar. Edited July 18, 2019 by allanp Quote
