Terryoleary Posted August 27, 2019 Posted August 27, 2019 Hi all Thought I’d share my first MOC, I did a church, not religious myself but felt my minifigs needed a place to go :) if you’re interested, the instruction are up at Rebrickable https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-27338/terryoleary/bricktown-church-moc/ Quote
Man with a hat Posted August 27, 2019 Posted August 27, 2019 Nice. I was wondering how you get a modular church. But this is an excellent execution of one. Great job. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted August 27, 2019 Posted August 27, 2019 Overall, it looks like it would fit within a modular street. Typically I don't expect much greenery, so I like that you included that side area. I could picture that, maybe as a corner building and the sidewalk continuing along the fence. Either way, it has some charm to it. I'd like to see it sandwiched between other buildings to get a full feel of things, but that's just me. Keep up the good work. Quote
kiwinewt Posted August 27, 2019 Posted August 27, 2019 I love it. I'd probably make an old rotting stone wall covered with greenery to butt up against the modular on the right hand side, to make it look less garish against the smooth wall. Something that looks like they didn't completely demolish a building before putting the new one up. This is great inspiration for an idea I've had floating around in my head for a while though :D Quote
carebear Posted August 31, 2019 Posted August 31, 2019 Hi Great Work! Love the way you use the rim for the window Greetings! Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Beautiful gothic church, I like the wall with the embossed bricks and the lawn around the building with the little cemetery ...reminds me of a perfect English style Quote
The Island Chronicles Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 That would go well in any city. You know, of all the years City has been made, I'm shocked and appalled that they have never made a church. At least as a one year and done type of set. It may not appeal to children. But itll definitely appeal to teens and young adults. Quote
Modeltrainman Posted October 19, 2019 Posted October 19, 2019 @pooda, While I'd welcome it, I think it'd run afoul of LEGO's policy. Quote
The Island Chronicles Posted October 19, 2019 Posted October 19, 2019 (edited) @Modeltrainman I thought that only had to do with politics and war. If that law includes religion, then a church is definitely out of the question. Though the laws on war keeping war out of the Lego universe have been broken on several occasions with the Knights Kingdom and Castle sets tbh. Edited October 19, 2019 by pooda Quote
Modeltrainman Posted October 19, 2019 Posted October 19, 2019 Yeah, I think it extends to religion/faith. What would be interesting(because LEGO Ideas mentions it) would be to see someone try to submit something based on Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame. Quote
The Island Chronicles Posted October 19, 2019 Posted October 19, 2019 @Modeltrainman I would too. Quote
Dominic Posted October 22, 2019 Posted October 22, 2019 Wow, I love it! This could be a good addition xD: https://www.holyheroes.com/Father-Leopold-Celebrates-Mass-Lego-set-p/gft-lego-leopold.htm Quote
