Say Greenie,

I was just looking at your beauty againa (can't seem to get enough of it. :pir-blush:), and noticed there is no nametag, nor room for it on the stern.

Don't you think a ship like this needs one?

I always loved this ship, and it didnt seem that big in the hands of Errorist! :pir-laugh:

Anyway I think its looks extremely similair to the La Soleil Royal:

It has the little "hole" in the middle :pir-grin:

Still I love it! Im gonna try and make a big fancy stern for the HMS Unicorn. Ill just stuff alot of yellow pieces on there! :pir-oh3:

Thanks Joey.

However the Soleil Royal has 3 gundecks, i have posted a picture of the Le Protecteur, wich she is designed after :pir-wink:

The hole is something most tall ships from the age of sail have.

I can't believed that I missed this gem of a MOC.

I've got to say, this is one beautiful ship. Generally I find that the majority of pirate ship MOCs tend to feel a bit mis-proportioned when built on the conventional LEGO boat hulls, yet you've managed to build one of the most beautiful ships I've seen to date. There are several larger Pirate MOCs on these hulls, but this is probably my favorite. You have essentially done what most of us only dream of doing with hull pieces. In particular, I like how you've captured the way the ship bows out towards the midsection. This is something very few builders do well, yet you've nailed it perfectly here. While your ship may be of a modest size, the beautiful shape of the vessel is hard to ignore.

Awesome work!

Thanks!

It would be on the chrome gold dish on the bottom of the stern :pir-wink:

EDIT Mr Tiber: I deleted the quote from your post, please don't post quotes of entire posts without it being really really neccesary, for it makes the thread a tad unreadable. :pir-wink:

I love it but how did you deside scale? :jollyroger:

A very very nice ship I must say! So many great details, and a awesome sails and rigging. The figurehead is great  The back of the ship is also packed with details. The colourscheme is great too!

The only thing the ship is missing is a decent crew I think. With only one guy one such a huge vessels it seems unlikely that it will be able to take off shore :pir-tongue:

I'd also like ot see the lower gundeck if possible. :cannon: (gotta use the new smileys :monkey: )

Sorry for the late reply, but this set is simply marvelous! I just found it and it is one of the best Pirate ships I have ever seen!

I didnt know you had such large ships, Captain Green Hair.

I like your flagship, it makes me think about another MOC I have seen on Brickshelf, it had the same hull colours.

Your Mort Royale looks great BTW, I enjoyed your Brickshelf pics a lot !

I would give my right hand to be able to build like that. It is one awsome big ship. I do have some sugestions though(yes i am a historic freak), use a smaller space between the double wheels, and mount the compass on a post in front of the wheel, put the lifeboats upsidedown, mayhap put in bow and/or stern chasers, and use carronades on the quater deck and near the boe. I love the ships bell, and what an excellent job on the rigging, could you post how you mad it ( i have a ship siting without rigging:) )?

Here's the link to the great tutorial which Captain Greenhair made for rigging :pir-wink:

The crew is there, they are hiding below...... :jollyroger:

I've only made the visible part of the lower gundeck, so what you see is what you get.

I don't really care for interior on this scale.

A smaller space between the wheels isn't possible, since they have a half pin on one side, that would otherwise stick out...

The compass is a good idea, i might change that in the future.

The ship is from 1728, and carronades weren't very common in that age. :pir-wink:

Thanks again for the compliments guys! :pir-blush:

Oh I just love this ship :pir-wub: ! This is my dream ship tottaly :pir-cry_happy: ! I always wished I could make one like that...

I am bumping this because I am feeling melancholy and she deserves it…and also because I am busy printing off pictures for reference material today. :pir-cry_happy:

Oh and now I just noticed my super cool tags! Thanks guys...that cheers me up more than a little! Now on to brickling to order some parts for the fleet!

There are so few two Decker frigates that are flagships. In fact, I think that this is the only one :pir-classic: Could you possibly show us some more pics of the crew? Because I am building a 24 gun frigate (actually, I have already built the hull, now I am just waiting on the mast pieces) and I want to know what your crew looks like

I thought at La Mort Royal is in Commodore Hornbricker`s home today, CGH sold it to him and it was destroyed. But Commodore builded her in her fromer glory and there she still is, somewhere in Commodores selfs (Hopefully not in pieces). So you might want to ask that on Commodore first :pir-wink:
