Tbh I’m fine with an unprinted torso on a figure that gives us a new sombrero colour, a new piñata piece and will have a poncho to cover

The problem is the price. That doesn't look like a $5 figure. It looks $3-$3.5

Unless it comes with poncho, blindfold, and string.

Same.

Can’t wait to see the other 15. Do we reckon they’ll leak as easy as Series 19?

Is this and future series confirmed to remain at the DC raised prices then?

It also gets me a little worried it is "party" themed since I definitely do not want a repeat of series 18 :sceptic:

Yeah, I’m not interested in another generic ‘party’ cmf like series 18, especially since I normally don’t go for the costumed characters.

However, piñatas are pretty specifically associated with Mexico, unlike the very generic children with birthday hats seen in series 18. It makes me wonder if the entire series couldn’t be internationally themed, with different party traditions from around the world. I think I could forgive series 20 for being another party theme if it gave us that kind of cultural diversity

You know, I could live with that, because as far as "themed" CMS go, I've always been partial to the idea of a Series exploring traditional cultural customs and attire, even if it did have "party" focus again like Series 18. :shrug_oh_well:

I dont recall the CMF price going down ever before.

I guess all the info about this series will be revealed at the NY Toy Fair in a couple of weeks

I don’t know if you are from the US and I don’t know if they did. But here in Canada (if I’m not mistaken) the price went from 3,99$ to 4,99$ For the lego Batman movie series 2 and dropped back to 3,99$ for the next series and went back to 4,99$ after that.

I thought the rule was that we couldn’t post the pictures or links but we could describe where they were showing up?

I agree that it's plain without any printing, but it's definitely coming with some form of soft goods. The new piñata piece is great, if not entirely useful. Though I could see it reused as a planter.

You can easily find it on Instagram under hashtags such as #legoleak... :classic:

There could be more pieces

It seems the person who took the picture only has the plastic bag, but in TLM2 series some pieces came out of that bag (plastic pieces not cloth ones)

So, there could be more but I cant think of anything other than a poncho...

I will spend a couple of words on $5 raise.

Everybody is really complaining about that and I can see why.

I will tell you the story of italian prices so that you can draw conclusions for yourself. But I won't tell you the price, but the number of minifig you can get per month on average salary, reported to the correct inflation.

S1/S2 869
S3/S4 880
S5: 704
S6/S7/S8: 701
S9/S10/S11: 711
S12: 715
S13-S14: 602
S15-S16: 608
S17:456
S18:462
S19:466
S20:470

So actually the doubling of the price is telling you that you can buy slightly half the minfiigures.
This alon doesn't say much... but let's compare it to the US.

S1/S2 1740
S3/S4/S5 1196
S6/S7/S8 1231
S9/S10/S11 1246
S12: 968
S13/S14: 1002
S15/S16: 1013
S17: 1048
S18: 1086
S19: 980
S20: 784

This means that an average american child could have usually had potentially more than 2x the minifigs of an average italian child, and in 2020 the price raise will lead to him having around 1.75x the minifigures of the average italian child.

In the end, for the bad that it can come, picture that you americans are lucky compared to other countries even with a $5 per minifigure.

I do actually pay €5 for magazines(that come with a figure + some small build) over here, but for a "random" figure I would certainly not.

I know people can feel those things but I literally have yet to see any sort of CMF in a store that isn't an official LEGO Brand Store in my area.

And when I would be in a LEGO Brand Store , I would buy figures via BAM anyway.

That's the only thing I majorly dislike about CMF, that "blind bag".

And no, this isn't about a workaround of buying things secondary market, it's how LEGO presents the product.

I still haven't see $5 minifigures, though I freely admit that the two retailers I usually look for CMFs have a pretty big backlog from the last three series, and thus have not adjusted the price as of yet.:shrug_oh_well:

I feel like this series could possibly have a multicultural theme. I know that this probably won't be the case, but we might be able to tell when we see another minifigure. I'm crossing my fingers for a mountie.

I’ve long hoped that a ‘round the world’ series might come. I agree I thought the same seeing the piñata boy. Fingers crossed indeed.

That would be a great theme!

If it were gonna be a "themed" Series again, that'd certainly be the most ideal way to honor the Collectable Minifigure theme's legacy, showcasing its capabilities in where other themes can't go due to their limited context.  :classic:

An unprinted torso and a retail price of $5 figure. LEGO really has lost their mind. But I jus wait a little bit and you can easily find them for $2-3 on eBay.. The second Disney series and series 19 sold for $37 and $32 the other day with shipping.
