The Southern Brickfan Posted October 30, 2019 Posted October 30, 2019 That does seem quite a reasonable amount of depth. Thanks for showing! Quote

Also, why is it I cannot see any of your photos, I just get these huge Brick not found jpgs instead. Makes following your posts a little difficult to see where you are coming from. I have been trying to find anyone selling the new longer Linear actuators, but so far with no look apart from lego.com itself, from whom I have ordered 2. Thanks Brian https://www.lego.com/en-us/service/replacementparts one of two avenues to purchase parts from lego, along side pick a brick. Quote
Bartybum Posted October 30, 2019 Posted October 30, 2019 Am i insane or does that arm seem a bit too long? By, say, 2 or 3 studs. Quote
SNIPE Posted October 30, 2019 Author Posted October 30, 2019 (edited) I wonder if it would be beneficial/too excessive to add a third XL actuator between each pair of XL actuators on efferman's modified boom? (so 3+3+3 XL + 2 M linear actuators. Unless the two M actuators for the bucket can be replaced with two L actuators. hmm. Edited October 30, 2019 by SNIPE Quote

Thanks, this is the exact route I used to get mine. Thankfully they were in stock. The hubs and motors seem to be permanently out of stock, but I cannot see the point of getting them without the rest of the set. Quote

Two xl actuators are enough to push the liebherr around while digging. On the Backhoe we will see... edit: same reduction as in the set. Edited October 30, 2019 by efferman Quote

Valkyx Posted October 30, 2019 Posted October 30, 2019 Hi Guys, I have recently finished building 42100. Any solution to the loose tracks? Removing 1 pice is not possible. When im trying to rotate it on carpet sometimes the gears slip on the tracks... Also any other mods to be easily done so the set might feel better? Quote
pleegwat Posted October 30, 2019 Posted October 30, 2019 I haven't encountered the problem myself, but you could look into moving the carriers at the top further towards the end of the track and/or including a tensioner (like in 42094A) Quote

The clicking noise when rotating on carpet is normal, its the new clutch slipping due to overload. But agreed is not very nice, its very smooth in straight lines and rotating on smooth surfaces, but really struggles with the carpet rotate. Quote
Metagross555 Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 When i built the undercarriage I didn't bother with the clutches (I also wish i removed the slewing one too), and removed a link per track and it turns and pivots smoothly Quote

Nope i can hear the difference in slipping clutch and when the tracks slip on the gears. Also i can see that the tracks are slipping. 2 hours ago, Metagross555 said: When i built the undercarriage I didn't bother with the clutches (I also wish i removed the slewing one too), and removed a link per track and it turns and pivots smoothly Removing a pice per track was not possible to me it is getting too tight then. Jundis Posted November 1, 2019 Posted November 1, 2019 Looks very nice :-) How many additional parts (estimated) do you need for this mod? Quote
efferman Posted November 1, 2019 Posted November 1, 2019 (edited) Doesnt have a idea how much parts this boom has. it is even not final yet. Edited November 1, 2019 by efferman Quote

efferman Posted November 2, 2019 Posted November 2, 2019 Undercarriage version 4 Hopefully it drives better than V3 Quote

How will you turn on the hub? Also what do you think about adding rubber inserts into the tracks? The model is heavy, wont it affect turning too much? Edited November 2, 2019 by Valkyx Quote
efferman Posted November 2, 2019 Posted November 2, 2019 (edited) With the orange yellow Liftarm, the green button will be pushed. edit: 2 XL with 1:1 gearing instead of 1 XL with 12:20 Edited November 2, 2019 by efferman Quote
efferman Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 (edited) With two C+XL at 1:1 gearing the speed is satisfying Edit: Edited November 3, 2019 by efferman Quote

efferman Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 (edited) Thank you very much. For all which are using the standard undercarriage. Does it drive better ore worse on carpet than in the vid? Edited November 3, 2019 by efferman Quote
gvo25 Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 (edited) Any change there will be instructions for the undercarriage? Looks really compact and more true to the real machine Edited November 3, 2019 by gvo25 Quote
