Brickmaster Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 I have an undying love for the Mega Core Magnetizer. Apparently this guy does too. Just Look! This guy made my day Quote
iamded Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 Not only are they in different colours, they're in different Space colours. Blacktron I, Blacktron II, Classic Space, Futuron, Ice Planet and Space Police! Great find, Brickmaster! ~Peace Quote
Galfar Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 Very nice find indeed! I've seen Blacktron 1 and Futuron MCMs somewhere before but the rest is lovely too. I wondered how Ice Planet Magnetizer would look like and now I know. And the amount of giant wheels on the group photo... Quote
zero1312 Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 WOW, that's an idea LEGO should consider in releasing. My favs are the Blacktron 1 and Ice Planet one. Quote
Lasse D Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 And he even remembered to add theme specific things such as the containment containers for Space Police II. That's way too cool Quote
snefroe Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 yeah, it's pretty cool, pretty expensive too, considering some of those parts are quite rare. what i would prefer though is the magnatiser as a basis for the truck, but build with only the parts of a specific theme... quite a challenge, imo Quote
VBBN Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 Nice find! I have the feeling that I am going to do some MM recolors... Quote
Artanis I Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 I love these photos, glad I found them again. I only rebuilt my MCM the other day - such an epic set. Well done Lego. Someone ought to build the Spyrius & Unitron versions and add the photos. Explorien would simply be the same as Futuron but with trans neon green lights instead of trans red. Pity there is no trans red dome, I would love to see a Space Police I version. Recolours are awesome when they're done right! And I think all 6 of those are pretty good at the least. Ice Planet one needs more black and less blue. Futuron maybe a bit more black. Blacktron II more white, less black. Space Police II slightly more red, more black. 9/10 on a stingey day. Quote

feanor Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 I'm in awe... of how much money people spend on MOCs... these things must have cost a fortune!!! Anyway, they all look great. The Futuron version is my favorite though, white and trans. blue is the most space-like combination for me. Quote
Fires-storm Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 Wow, I actually remember these, the guy that did them had them all on display at Brickworld! it was truly a beautiful site. Quote
Aanchir Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 I've seen that gallery before, but never looked at all the versions individually until you deeplinked them. Love how the Space Police II version used prison pods in place of M-Tron's magnetic parcels. Wish they all had that sort of uniqueness, although I admit Ice Planet, Blacktron, etc. didn't have any distinctive parcel-like builds that appeared in more than one set. Quote
Algernon Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 I suddenly feel extremely guilty for not owning this set. Awesome find! Quote
legotrainfan Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 Well, all those vehicles remind me of the My Own Train series, where you could have one and the same steam engine in different colours. Anyway, it's a great brickshelf find, and it's a cool idea to use the parts of specific themes to build theme specific Mega Core Magnetizers. Quote
Batbrick Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Awesome find! Thanks for sharing, my favourites are the Ice Planet magnetizer and Blacktron II magnetizer, the colour schemes really stand out and work well. Truly a formidable fleet there, though I'm sure the M-Tron guys are a bit annoyed at everyone copying them Batbrick Away! Quote
Blackicep8ntball Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Wow cool find - thanks for posting all that. The classic-space colors make my favorite version Quote
Davey Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 For all that are interested, the builder of those is Brian Darrow of IndyLUG. Here's a link to his MOCPages page. Brian's MOCPage He is also the man responsible for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway MOC and the Blacktron Intelligence Agency. -Davey Quote
Balrog Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 (edited) Now look at these ... ok I have to admit, that I have seen some of these MCMs before. I always wanted to have one of those when I was a kid and it came out. I didn't have too much M-Tron, but at least some. But this was the masterpiece I wanted so badly. But I didn't get it. Now someone makes it in different themes ... at the same time. This guy really made me jealous. Edited July 9, 2010 by Balrog Quote

And thanks to everyone else for the kind words on my 6989 rebuilds. Nathan Todd, our "Irish" IndyLUG member pointed me to this thread at our club meeting yesterday. Brian Quote
