Probably poorly asked, I wanted to know how many cars 42109 may be controlled independently at one place?

As many, as the BLE protocol can handle, which is close to indefinite, as fart as I can tell from sitting in a public train and virtually everyone present is talking to BLE microphones, listening to BLE earphones, headsets, and gazillion other devices.

The thing is, you pair the BLE server (the hub) with a BLE client (the control) on startup. Just make sure, there are not 10 servers waiting for your control to connect.

Other than that it is at it is with all your smart devices using Bluetooth LE.

That also means you can attach a different size clutch gear to the diff. Hopefully the big gear isn't fixed to the diff :0

I wonder if we could use this in gearboxes then too.

I'm not sure how you are supposed to lock the diff manually in this set

I want this as a center diff in a AWD car. But if the big gear is fixed to the diff, the old diff will still be a better option.

Why would the old diff be a better option?

Didn't Markus say in one of the Interview, that the App could Control up to 32 Hubs, did he?

I think he said 8 hubs, so 32 outputs total.

Yep, I found it here and corrected my post.

But he didn't seem 100% sure so there is a small possibility that it might not be that but if anyone would know it would probably be him.

Because if the big brown gear is fixed to the diff, the old style diff is still smaller, and has a small gear on one side as well.

Ooooops, I thought you meant the current 28t single bevel diff.

Talking about diffs, maybe TLG introduced a new diff, because the brick-built ones had problems keeping the axles from sliding out. With the setup 42109 uses there's not much space to use axle joiners or bushes to keep the axle one the left side of the car from sliding out.

From the video, it looks like the differential is 7 pieces. The reddish gear is separate from the housing(I think it attaches somehow) and there are what looks to be at least 5 smaller tan bevel gears inside the housing.

If that really is the case, integrating a center diff in a AWD car will be a lot easier than it is now.

I went back on Facebook and tried to find the video but it is gone. I think the red gear snapped on to the housing after all of the little bevel gears were placed into it. Certainly stronger for RC than what we currently have.

There was a video of the diff?

But is the Red Gear needed to keep the gears inside in place?

Yes. It looked like it held in the 5 little gears.

So in the end is it like Efferman's diff?

Do you have a link for that?

Well damn, that basically makes it a fixed part of the diff, because it is required for the diff to even work in the first place :(

That wouls still make the old diff a better option.

Yeah, the gear connects to the housing. I assume that you can disassemble it if you need to replace a gear if one breaks. Not really sure. There was a tan gear on the bottom then 3 in the middle and one on top and then the big red gear from what I remember. The set is out now, so it shouldn't be long before more about this comes out.
