Erik Leppen Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 Wow, nice tow truck. I really like the clean design, especially of the front half (hood, cabin, sleeper). Also, the mobile crane seems an OK B model of it ;) Quote
mpj Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 Beautiful! Great functions and some nice ideas here. The front grille is genial. Quote
Bartybum Posted May 30, 2020 Posted May 30, 2020 @Cumulonimbus any chance you can share the .lxf of that bootleg crane? I’ve been looking for its instructions everywhere because I wanted to replicate it but haven’t been able to find them at all. Quote
lmdesigner42 Posted May 30, 2020 Posted May 30, 2020 Very nice tow truck A-model! Now 42108 is worth buying - for the parts at least. Quote
Timorzelorzworz Posted May 30, 2020 Posted May 30, 2020 It is indeed a great parts pack and inspiration for own creations Quote

I’m sorry, I'm hesitant to share the lxf of that model for two reasons: First, Jim was clear that this forum is not the place to discuss non-Lego sets and brands. Second, I believe that this set was an original model of that brand, not a clone or a stolen MOC. I applaud their effort and I don’t want to be the one who steals their design and distribute it. You are right that they do not make digital instructions (which makes me appreciate the fact that TLG does). You could consider buying one of their sets. Alternatively, it shouldn't be too hard to recreate your own copy based on the pictures and movies available online. Edited June 2, 2020 by Cumulonimbus Quote

I'm not sure this strictly falls under discussion of clone brands to begin with, since we're strictly dealing with an LDD MOD/MOC. Without naming anything, I can argue that Technic piece designs were stolen and are now being profited off. It's a two way street. What about your "official Lego set wish" version? It'd just be nice to be able to build a 6-axle mobile crane that I know I already have the parts for If you're adamant though, then there's not much for me to do ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Edited June 2, 2020 by Bartybum Quote
Niedzwiedzmin Posted June 2, 2020 Posted June 2, 2020 I am about to start my Lego adventure with this set (42108) - is this good source of parts for future? Or at least to start with something? :) In future will definitely want to make some mobile crane or stationary crane of my own, so it seems like a good choice for me. I hope that I do not have to buy 2/3/4 sets of same for parts like I have read some people do...? Quote
