Aurore Posted November 29, 2019 Posted November 29, 2019 (edited) As I really enjoyed all the custom Advent calendars that can be found all over Eurobricks, I decided to create one for Mitgardia. Starting from this Sunday, I'll update this topic with one build or minifig per day! Note : for family reasons, I also built a second Advent calendar - only minifigs and with a Fairy Tale theme. It can be found here. Week 1 Week 2 Week 3 Week 4 Edited December 24, 2019 by Aurore Quote
Alfadas Posted November 29, 2019 Posted November 29, 2019 ooh sounds nice! I´ll be watching it :) Quote
Eoin Wallace Posted November 29, 2019 Posted November 29, 2019 That's a great idea I wait to see what you build! Quote
Aurore Posted November 29, 2019 Author Posted November 29, 2019 @Alfadas, @Eoin Wallace, @Grover, thank you so much for your enthusiasm! I hope you'll like it! Quote
Louis of Nutwood Posted November 29, 2019 Posted November 29, 2019 Nothing thrills me more than the holidays spirit painting the roads of Mitgardia. What an incredible idea, lady Aurore! Can’t wait to see all the little Mitgardian gems that will show up in the following days. Excellent initiative! Quote
Aurore Posted December 1, 2019 Author Posted December 1, 2019 (edited) Day 1 : Pastry Stand Wintertime is pastry time! Next --- @Louis of Nutwood Thank you very much! I hope you'll enjoy the calendar! Edited December 2, 2019 by Aurore Quote
Grover Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 Awesome! I love the pastries. Some from the HPWW CMF series I see. Very nice! Quote
Aurore Posted December 2, 2019 Author Posted December 2, 2019 @Grover Thank you! I'm indeed quite fond of the HPWW cinnamon roll...somehow, it does look yummy despite being just a piece of plastic! Quote
Aurore Posted December 2, 2019 Author Posted December 2, 2019 (edited) Day 2 : Baker The "snow pie" is a traditional Mitgardian cake, made of a creamy soft cheese mixture on a shortcrust pastry. Since every family has their own recipe, variants with additional ingredients such as raisins or a drop of honey are not uncommon. Shamelessy inspired by the Käsekuchen from Alsace and Germany. Aurore Posted December 3, 2019 Author Posted December 3, 2019 (edited) @Grover This is really great! If the Queen enjoys Mitgardian cookies, then she should win the heart of at least a part of the population...But beware : if she visits Mitgardian Winter Markets, she's at risk of being stuck with a sweet old lady explaining her the more-than-two-thousand types of traditional cookies - and their variants. Edited December 3, 2019 by Aurore I forgot a whole phrase. That's what happen when I do something before having taken my coffee... Quote
Aurore Posted December 3, 2019 Author Posted December 3, 2019 (edited) Day 3 : Bretzel Barrel Instantly recognisable specialties from southern Mitgardia. Previous | Next Edited December 4, 2019 by Aurore Quote
Kai NRG Posted December 3, 2019 Posted December 3, 2019 Fun pastry theme you've got going here so far! Great selection of cookies on the first one and I like the look of that pretzel barrel! Quote
Aurore Posted December 3, 2019 Author Posted December 3, 2019 @Kai NRG Thank you! The calendar has several mini-sub-themes, but pastry had to be the first one... @Alfadas Thank you very much! Quote
Aurore Posted December 4, 2019 Author Posted December 4, 2019 (edited) Day 4 : Happy Dwarf A bretzel and a beer. What else? Previous | Next Edited December 5, 2019 by Aurore Quote
Yooha Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 This one is great also! Will there be a big scene on 24th? Having a Mitgardian one is especially heart-warming. Quote
Aurore Posted December 4, 2019 Author Posted December 4, 2019 @Yooha Thank you again! All the builds and figs could be used in a same diorama, but I have not built such a scene. Quote
Alfadas Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 Now that´s a happy dwarf! Where is that torso from? Quote
Aurore Posted December 4, 2019 Author Posted December 4, 2019 @Alfadas Thanks! The torso is from one of the Bard the Bowman minifigs. Quote

Aurore Posted December 5, 2019 Author Posted December 5, 2019 (edited) Day 5 : Wild Man When nights seem endless and icy winds howl over Mitgardia, wild men venture out of the forests and prowl closer and closer to the villages… Inspired by the Bavarian "Wilder Mann" and "Krampus" creatures, who prowl in the villages on the evening of December 5th.
