F0NIX Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 Hello folks! This is my first msg here on this forum and I have just found out about this site from some swedish people visiting LEGO World Norway 2008. I was attenting that event as part of the Brikkelauget team and had a few models at display there. A little about myself: I am born in 1968 in a town called Tromsø in northern part of Norway. Here I have lived most of my life except 3 years in the navy. I am educated as an electronic technician. And work now in a large company that install almost anything in a industrial buildings. The last years I have mostly worked with Audio Video systems. Both programming and installations. Because of my upbringing and education I love LEGO Technic and has up til lately mostly built technic models. I have also a few RCX and NXT units that I like to program. A new intrest in LEGO is building houses. It started with just a test to see if it was possible at all to build a complex shaped dome from an old cinema in my town. I then tried building an iconic building from my town that realy stands out and also has a bit strange form. It is a church called "Ishavskatedralen" or "The Arctic Cathedral" I have also tried a few other buildings. And are now into more traditional designed buildings. And are working on a minifig scaled version of an old theater from my home town. I have been on Lugnet for several years but dont post there anymore. I mostly hang out at the Brikkelauget forum for LEGO related stuff. As other hobbies I also do a bit Geocaching mostly in the summer time. In the winter I go skiing, and bicycling in the summer. I have to cats, Whiskas and Casandra, that love laying around in my LEGO buckets and boxes :) My slogan is "Nothing is impossible, the impossible only takes longer time". Quote

legotrainfan Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 Nice introduction! Welcome to our community! You have two cats? I've got one but I don't like her being around my LEGO too much. Don't want her hair on my precious LEGO stuff. Quote
Asuka Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 Hello and welcome to the grainy side of the brick. Your church looks very fine, especially that great interior shot with these beautiful reflections. Quote
Vaders_son Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 Hey there, welcome to Eurobricks! I love your church, it's really awesome. The details in the interior are the best part of it Enjoy your stay! Benny Quote
Freddie Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 (edited) It wouldn't look good if I didn't wish you welcome here, too, so yeah; Velkommen til EB, F0NIX! Edited May 9, 2008 by Freddie Quote
F0NIX Posted May 11, 2008 Author Posted May 11, 2008 Thanx everyone for the warm welcome! You have two cats? I've got one but I don't like her being around my LEGO too much. Don't want her hair on my precious LEGO stuff. If you wash your LEGO bricks first in warm water with some mild detergent in, the cat-hair would not cling to the bricks. Just a hot tip from a LEGO and cat loving member of this forum ;) This is from a life long experience with LEGO and cats togheter. Quote
