Good points about the trike set. Just feels a bit more on the display type set to me than long term playability. My son just takes all the fence pieces and makes a super fence anyways from all the other sets.

Thanks for the feedback about the themes. I was just doing some browsing on lego.com and I think I'm going to look into some of these 3-in-1 creator sets for next year until JWD is out. They seem well built and have some cool looking buildings.

I will check out the all stars thing that you mentioned. We have quite a few star wars freemakers episodes left. I really like Lego Star wars because it's not as violent as re star wars he's not ready for that. Same with jurassic park films yet but he's close.

I think the trike and bary sets should have been $10 cheaper. And I do agree the dino mech set is kind of overpriced but my son loves the dinomech from the show. That's how they get you lol.

Never checked out ninjago trying to avoid that one seems like a ton of sets.

Yeah, Baryonyx is a good one. Also if you can't find any sets of it on discount, you could just buy the dinosaur separately on eBay, bricklink etc :D

(not too familiar with bricklink so just assuming you buy lego pieces from it)

I'd love to do that but buying one seperately would cost 20/25 euro, with such a ridiculous price you might as well wait for a sale so you can purchase the entire set :sceptic:

I'm also interested to why he doesn't like the 2019 sets that much. For me it comes down to 2 factors: price and playability. For example I though the $20 drone set was stupid, but my son loves it. I guess it's quick and fun for him to grab and play with.

If guyon2002 Is right about JW Lego going away after JWD, what other series will you guys focus on?

My main reason for not liking the 2019 and most of the 2020 sets is because they're non-canonical, poor designs that were made into sets even though there are hundreds of ideas from the movies themselves left ignored. In the Dilophosaurus set I kinda like the Dilo itself and the little stand is nice but the price, figures and drone kinda ruin it. The Baryonyx set is just incredibly uninteresting: meh figures (2 of which aren't even canon), a poor scenery build, a sad little camper and a decent jeep, all for the ''low'' cost of 65 euro :hmpf: The Trike set is basically the Baryonyx set but worse: poor price, only 1 good figure and downright awfull looking builds. The only things worth getting about these last 2 sets are the dinosaurs and maybe Red and Masrani.

The T-Rex Mech is downright the worst Jurassic set LEGO has ever made. The figures are meh (Claire's new variant is the only one worth getting imo), the baby raptors are fantastic so I bought those off Bricklink, don't even get me started on the build. The volcano is a downright awfull mismatch of a couple of small pieces, some BURPs and a poor playfeature. The mech doesn't fit with the franchise at all, whoever thought that was a good idea should stay away from this franchise in the future. The T.Rex itself isn't an interesting variant and price is once again an issue.

Dr Wu's Lab is decent at best. The price is great but other than the baby dinosaurs there's not much there. Bland/uninteresting figures, downright awfull build and tons of stickers.

I wouldn't put much weight on my thoughts about LEGO Jurassic potentially ending after the JWD wave, it's possible but it's not like we've got solid confirmation of that.

This is so dman true. The set is just bad, doesn't fit the theme at all and is a wasted spot. Bertter ideas for a T-Rex sets are so easy to come by. (A normal Gate set instead of 4+ or UCS for example)

@Guyon2002

You are saying its non-canon, agreed I understand. But the 2019 sets are strictly based off the non-canon Lego Jurassic World: Legend of Isla Nublar kids tv-series. My son just turned 5, I think jurassic park/world might be to violent/scary for him still? The Lego JW LoIN tv show is basically a cartoon right? Then they make sets from that cartoon for the kids. I don't know if could be Canon and sell to a 5-year old? Unless you're saying the lego JW shows should have never happened and they should only make canon related movie sets. I would still probably be okay with that, but my son just might not be as interested. So maybe they were looking at it as marketing it to a younger age group.

However, I do agree they kind of half-assed it. They used the main characters from JW and brought back JP characters for single episodes. They could have used better stuff from the LoIN show in the sets.

""downright awful build and tons of stickers. "" --> are sticker pieces not fun, or am I missing something? I bought a few extra JW sticker sheets off Bricklink to put on random pieces because the stickers are cheap there.

Edit - Re: Dino Mech. I agree about the volcano section just seems like a bunch of random throwin stuff for the set. The thing that makes me the most frustrated about the set is that the Dino mech in the show battled the Allosaurus much longer than the T-Rex. But they probably didn't want to make a new dino just for 1 set. :(

While people generally dislike stickers they are especially bad in Wu's Lab, since the whole backside of it depends on them. There is basically nothing but four! displays that are only become displays by stickers (Ok, there is a bit of wiring in the back that is also sone by stickers). Without them it would be just a random pile of bricks that don't look like anything. Basically the good build of that set is the lab table and the incubator.

I don't mind the existence of the LoIN show, it exists and I enjoyed it. I do not however think that they needed to waste 1,5 wave on it. I get what they were going for with the show (getting kids interested in the franchise) but as proven by the Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom sets it's not hard to make kidfriendly sets based on a more ''adult'' or at least teen oriented property. For almost every LoIN-based set LEGO made I can think of a similar set they've could've done using the movies. The Baryonyx set for example could've come with Claire, Franklin and 2 hunters and a build for the Nublar bunker instead of the so-so builds and meh figures we ended up getting. The Batmobile in the Gallimimus set could've been the visitor truck seen in the first film:

Radio Bunker 02-17 – Isla Nublar (S/F) – Jurassic-Pedia Gallimimus Valley | Jurassic Park wiki | Fandom

Stickers aren't necessarily a bad thing but in the case of Wu's Lab they are. Stickers should really be used to add in small non-essentail details but even if they are important it can work, in Wu's Lab however every single one of those stickers is absolutely necessary to make it look like a lab (as pointed out by @mon-o-mat). It also doesn't help that the stickers in that set are clearbacked, which means they're a pain to apply.

Or the 6x6 Mercedes. Could even contain the stupid net launcher.

Exactly. LEGO tries so hard to get kids to buy these sets they're forgetting that there are tons of things in the movies that kids would love. The Lost World for example is just one big treasure chest for LEGO. Tons of characters, tons of different and cool vehicles and a lot of dinosaurs :sceptic: But nope, Batmobile go vroom vroom :ugh:

@guyon2002 @mon-o-mat

Great stuff thank you guys! I see your points better now. Its like the LoIN sets are marketed for the young kids but not great for adults, but if they did more canon+movie sets it would be best for all ages.

Yeah that bunker set would be DOPE. Access control entry, that computer station/grid map, the volcano coming through the roof, the escape ladder... they messed up!!! Also my kid would love that visitor truck. It would be so cool loading up 8-10 people in the back and taking them on a safari style ride in Jurassic World park. Maybe you just gave us an idea for a future MOC.

I will officially call the Research Lab Vehicle, the Batmobile. How is it a research lab vehicle when its being used to capture dinosaurs in the show?

Guyon2002 you need to do some sort of youtube channel going over sets... really good knowledge of everything I appreciate it.

Thanks for the kind words, creating YouTube videos isn't really my cup of tea though so I'll just stick to what I'm doing now

I started making this image when I first found out about the Jurassic World Lego sets to help me figure out which sets we wanted and how to get them. Also to see which sets were from which TV/Movie. Obviously its not 100% accurate as the 75941 I-Rex vs Ankylo is from the 2015 movie. But the Batmobile Research Lab Vehicle is apart of Double Trouble.

Other than 75919 (Indominus Rex Breakout) I don't really like the 2015 sets, but I do like how they're color coded to go together. The 2018 sets are darker blue that seemingly go together. Then as to others points/comments here the 2019 sets are just kind of random stuff from the LoIN TV Show.

JW:Dominion appears to have a dark red background logo, so I wonder if the sets/vehicles are going to have more dark red and not anymore dark blue?

Also last random point, the 3 junior sets from 2018 are awesome in terms of price + playability. The T-Rex one was my son's first set, got them all on sale from amazon/ebay.

I agree with @Nizzy - I would love to watch some of your YouTube videos. :) But I totally understand making videos take a lot of work.

Well, if you want a correct list of what movie/show every set belongs to (excluding promotional stuff like polybags, Bricktober etc):

Jurassic World: everything released in 2015 + the 2020 Gyro Station set

The Indominus Escape: no sets

Fallen Kingdom: everything released in 2018 except for the Juniors/4+ sets

Secret Exhibit: no sets

Legend of Isla Nublar: all 2019 sets

Double Trouble: 2020 Batmobile

Camp Cretaceous: 2020 Wu's Lab

Not based on anything: all Juniors and 4+ sets

What do you mean by "2020 Batmobile"? 75940?

Also you forgot to mention the Jurassic Park Raptor Chase set.

Yes I'm referring to that set, nowadays more commonly known as the Batmobile because it looks just like the app-controlled one and doesn't fit the Jurassic theme at all. I left out the Jurassic Park set because that list only contains World properties.

Setnumbers and prices for the Jurassic World: Dominion wave:

76944 - $50

76945 - $20

76946 - $30

I think it's safe to assume that all these sets were planned for 2021 - Dominion was also planned for 2021.

Even if they delay the movie, all of those sets are almost definitely (maybe except for 76944) based on Dominion.

Dominion is still set to release in june so that would mean the JWD wave releases sometime in april or may just like with JW 2015 and FK

So maybe two JW waves in 2021? Camp Cretaceous in 1HY and Dominion in 2HY? Just a thought. Probably not but who knows

I highly doubt that, Jurassic doesn't sell well enough to warrant two waves a year. Especially 2 so close together
